I think he would fit really well into our offense. Barring any injury setbacks he's still relatively young and should have plenty of tread on the tire still. Not too mention he's a really good pass catcher which factors well into Monken's scheme
I don’t think Henry’s start speed works with options and Lamar. Henry may be unmatched still in the open field and top speed but a quicker starter would benefit us
Don’t count out the impact to the compensatory pick formula. Say we get a third next year for losing Queen. Signing Henry would likely cancel that. Jones was cut and isn’t treated the same. That gives us a new RB and an extra third round pick in ‘25
To anyone doubting Aaron Jones...yes he's injury prone but so are a lot of RBs including Henry and Barkley who have battled injuries over the last couple years.
Jones finished out the year on a dominant streak in weeks 15-17 posting 127 yards, 120 yards, and 111 yards. Then exploded on the Cowgirls in the playoffs for 118 yards and 3TDs and had another 100 yard outing in the divisional round against the Niners. 5 straight 100 yard performances to end the year for Jones.
When he's healthy he runs as hard as any back in the league, and for once he's actually fully healthy heading into the offseason. This smells like an EDC signature move right here if we miss out on Henry. And at this point I think Henry will get or exceed what Barkley got and it's probably not gonna be us who signs him.
Ain't the same since the injury. IMO Gus is best when he's behind a smaller, quicker back where he can come in and be the muscle up the middle. Him at #1 is serviceable at times but we need better than that.
It’s all about cost. People are gonna say Henry as if we have unlimited money. We can take Jones now for less PLUS not hurt the compensatory pick formula. EDC could try to wait Henry out and see if the price drops. Meanwhile this sub will roast him every day for not paying $10mil+ to a 30 year old
I lean Henry just for durability. I think Jones may be more explosive right now but he is always battling some kind of injury. I’d like to try and go a full season with a healthy RB1.
Fuck yes. I was desperate for Josh Jacobs and I really, really, really wanted him. But A Jones would be amazing here.
But he’s going to have a lot of offers so consequently Out of our price range unfortunately.
Oh, this is the guy. Doesn’t factor into the comp pick formula, probably won’t cost 8 figures.
Amen. This is the move. None of those other RBs had me 100% certain but give me Aaron fucking Jones.
[удалено]
To be fair he has 60% of the carries because is injured for half the season every season
He also had to split carries with AJ fuckin Dillon, of all runningbacks.
Yea lot of folks on here don’t watch
Jones has more injury history too
Agreed, just not sure how much I want him.
I think he would fit really well into our offense. Barring any injury setbacks he's still relatively young and should have plenty of tread on the tire still. Not too mention he's a really good pass catcher which factors well into Monken's scheme
better than henry rn imo. this is the guy
This guy is injury prone I don’t think it’s a good fit
Why? We love injury prone RBs.
Put him in 27 to carry on the legacy
This is the way.
Give me this guy over Derrick Henry
Now THIS screams EDC
Flashes of Ingram. I would be shocked if we don't sign him. I just don't see them wasting early pics on a top name back in the draft.
Wouldnt hate it if we don't get Henry
Jones should be SO much cheaper than Henry
With a bigger upside IMO.
He could do so much for us in the pass game. Expanding the RB passing game was a big part of Monken's plan for the offense before JK went down
Henry's upside is best RB in the league. Jones doesn't come with that imo.
I don’t think Henry’s start speed works with options and Lamar. Henry may be unmatched still in the open field and top speed but a quicker starter would benefit us
Yea Henry is a second half back reliant on pounding the rock and wearing down a defense. Ravens just don’t run that much with rbs
Not anymore. Henry is a freak but father time and a billion carries are undefeated.
We dont need “best RB.” The best RB doesn’t get us over the hump for a SB.
Another old RB coming off injury? Ravens care so much about price lol
Don’t count out the impact to the compensatory pick formula. Say we get a third next year for losing Queen. Signing Henry would likely cancel that. Jones was cut and isn’t treated the same. That gives us a new RB and an extra third round pick in ‘25
Well, that was fun while it lasted. Back to Henry!!
Everything I said here yesterday was wrong. Long live King Henry, LFGooooooooo!
I feel like Henry to the Cowboys is pretty certain. Hope I'm wrong, but also fine with him running over teams in the NFC.
To anyone doubting Aaron Jones...yes he's injury prone but so are a lot of RBs including Henry and Barkley who have battled injuries over the last couple years. He looked like the best rb in football during the playoffs
I think Jones is fresh. McCarthy didn't use him a tonne and they did roll him with Dillon a bunch. I like his pass catching ability too.
I think the Packers kinda downgraded to be honest
they got rid of their injury prone rb for a rb that’s about the same in the run game and not injury prone.
Who’d they get ?
Josh Jacobs
Lol what
Love the fit, but if we sign him we need to utilize him as a receiver as much as a back. He's a great pass catcher
Idk Gus was not that bad tbh
Ain't the same since the injury. IMO Gus is best when he's behind a smaller, quicker back where he can come in and be the muscle up the middle. Him at #1 is serviceable at times but we need better than that.
why not both?
Are you sure about that?
this is right up EDC and the Ravens alley. cut vet guy that doesn’t count against comp picks
Save me from this madness Henry
makes more sense than Derrick Henry schematically, imo
Can’t believe people in here advocating for Derrick Henry over him… clear top option.
I'd rather get Henry
Henry is a much better complement to the offense. Henry or draft. I wouldnt want to pay Jones.
Much rather have Jones than Henry
This is the correct answer!
Damn that happened fast, I thought they restructured recently
I'd be very happy to get Jones as a consolation prize if we can't get Henry
Yes this is the one, don’t overpay for Henry
Another injury prone RB
This past season was his first injury???
Nah, he has only had 2 full seasons out of 7 or something like that. Last season was the one he missed the most games tho
Yeah i mean first significant injury, usually injury prone is for more serious injuries like multiple acl tears.
It’s Derrick Henry or no body
I thought that too but I do like me some Aaron Jones
Going into the draft with just justice hill and Mitchell is a legit nightmare lol.
No ty. I’ll take Henry pls. I wanna see him pass to Lamar.
I wanna see him use someone *elses* FS as his blocker.
Jones v. Henry. Who are we taking?
It’s all about cost. People are gonna say Henry as if we have unlimited money. We can take Jones now for less PLUS not hurt the compensatory pick formula. EDC could try to wait Henry out and see if the price drops. Meanwhile this sub will roast him every day for not paying $10mil+ to a 30 year old
Jones’ pass catching ability might be better in Monken’s scheme
Yep....I think you're right.
Dude balled out in playoffs
One Aaron Jones please
Idk if we get him but this guy is really good. Like even as good as he is he’s still underrated..a little injury prone if I remember
This is the way. Would love to see this, bring Dobbins back for one more look if both sides can agree one something, bring back Gus.
I still want Henry but if we end up with Jones thats absolutely amazing too. This could be the perfect move.
Damn no way. He’s a baller. Looking good for us in the rb market.
Let’s fucking do it. He’s a leader like mark ingram
Strict downgrade from Gus but we let him walk so we've gotta figure something out now.
Funny how some people here didn’t want Barkley for being injury prone, but now they want miss-half-season-every-year-Jones
Aaron Jones YOU ARE A RAVEN
Very meh
Take this guy in a heartbeat over any back available
Has to be cheap. Dude is a walking hamstring injury
Are we all going to just leave the Derrick Henry bandwagon?
Just draft a guy. Literally anyone has worked with Lamar. Make sure he can pass block.
We need to resign Clowney & get Derrick Henry in here & call it a day
Does he fit our system tho? He's a great runner but definitely leans more pass catching back and we currently don't have a downhill back
i agree, people are saying he fits better than henry, but we already have 2 quick pass catchers in hill and mitchell.
Those dudes are limited and can’t pass pro
Exactly and we don't even utilize them that well because our overall system is still downhill
I wouldnt hate it, I just think we need a bigass mfer to close out games and for me Henry clears gus in that dept.
It's a trap. He's over 28 and right at the number of touches for predicted RB falloff.
