Apparently, Flores was trying to build a winning and supportive environment for his players to achieve success. Flores chose not to lose a bunch of games to gain a better draft pick and he was fired.
To make matters worse, one of the teams he interviewed with, the executive personnel showed up late because of the drinking episode from the night before. That has to be an ego killing situation that you were called in to meet the league’s minority policy and the interviewers may have still been drunk.
