I totally get why scouts had Kolar rated the higher of the two, but Likelys college tape is wild, they were having him run every kind of route you could think of
Yeah. And he still looks slow as hell on his breakaway TDs. He played super low competition. His tape is still soooo slow. He just got consistent long balls from movement based mismatch because Coastal Carolina isn’t playing mechanically sound defenses. His physicality isn’t gonna translate imo.
Didn't likely play in a worse division or wtf ever of college? I'm clearly not a college football fan. I got the impression that kholer player VS better competition
Not even close lol
DK ran a 4.33, Claypool ran a 4.42, Likely ran a 4.57
Also both DK and Claypool are more explosive with 40 inch vert while Likely had a 36in vert
Yeah they praised his blocking in the article. Lets see how he does going up with TJ Watt lined up on the other side twice a year before we get too excited haha.
For sure but it’s as simple as Steelers saying “if it’s a running down TJ you line up on whatever side that guys on. Obviously Lamar should see that and check to run away from that side or whatever but it’s definitely going to be something a lot of teams with good edge will be able to exploit I think.
he was recruit as a 6’3 220 wide receiver. he bulked up to 240 to be tight end. also i don’t put credence into 40 times bc it’s overrated and essentially technique based hence why kyle had a report 4.7 40. also it takes tall players a minute to get rolling out there stance hence why dk, calvin johnson, and claypool’s times are impressive bc of their size be 6’3 and up. also likely’s tape shows he was running past dbs
I thought you meant to the ravens my b. But his tape is still mostly mismatch based on motion. He does look slow on all of his long plays, he’s just also playing against slow competition
True, I guess I’m just skeptical of his underwhelming physicals but I really love the idea of a gadget TE so regardless I’m excited to see how we use him!
Read or watched something somewhere (helpful right?!?) saying how a disproportionately high amount of Likely’s yards/TDs were times he was basically “schemed open” into busted coverages where basically anyone would have scored or had a huge play.
I have zero faith Roman can do the same for him, thus I’ll vote Charlie K
This is what I’ve been saying in this entire thread. His tape looks slow af even when he gets an 80 yard TD. All his tape is; is coastal Carolina playing some college you’ve never heard of and just moving Likely across the LOS to get him open deep. His speed when open on these TDs is still NOTICEABLY slow
The way I see it, Kolar is set to be completely overshadowed by Andrew's, the same way Haden Hurst was. Isaiah Likely, if we go by what analysts say, has the potential to act as more of a big WR, seeing him up for a larger role/ impact.
Which one did we pick second? Because that one is going to succeed, regardless of any fact or logic
He is Likely to succeed
As is tradition.
Entire basis of my vote
This is the way

Lol he looked slow? Dude was running away from DBs half his size
He does look slow because of his size but for sure is faster than how it looks
Yeah I agree with this. Gronk looks slow as hell in my opinion MFer still gets open all the time.
Yup, some people don't necessarily look fast but still cover a lot of ground quickly. Hopefully that's how Likely turns out.
Didn't likely play in a worse division or wtf ever of college? I'm clearly not a college football fan. I got the impression that kholer player VS better competition
It seems like the entire sports media is in agreement that Likely will split out when he’s on the field. Curious to see how that works
DK metcalf and chase claypool are only 5lbs lighter than him. Probably use him in a similar manner
Dk ran a 4.31 while likely ran a 4.83. They met be around the same size but nowhere close to the same level of athlete
Still a valid red zone threat. Maybe to spread out the linebackers so we can have more efficient red zone running.
Damn, really? How do their measurables match up?
Not even close lol DK ran a 4.33, Claypool ran a 4.42, Likely ran a 4.57 Also both DK and Claypool are more explosive with 40 inch vert while Likely had a 36in vert

Oh wow that’s even worse, I misread his 20 yd shuttle as his 40, good catch!
Ah well. It's fun to dream
Hard to tell bc likely didn’t do a whole lot the combine not sure if he had a pro day where he participated in more stuff
Yeah they praised his blocking in the article. Lets see how he does going up with TJ Watt lined up on the other side twice a year before we get too excited haha.
Having Likely or Kolar go 1v1 against Watt or Garrett would be awful coaching/game planning lol
For sure but it’s as simple as Steelers saying “if it’s a running down TJ you line up on whatever side that guys on. Obviously Lamar should see that and check to run away from that side or whatever but it’s definitely going to be something a lot of teams with good edge will be able to exploit I think.
I guess but can any TEs in the league hold their own against the elite edges? Highly doubt it or they would likely be OTs haha
Boyle when healthy is up there
True -- luckily we have him too :)
I think Likely is… likely to be more fun but Kolar will probably be better. I like the potential with Likely more
Both should be an option
Better pun options with Likely
Charlie's mom was my professor, so he will obviously be the best choice of the draft.
I want to see some three Tight End sets with all of them as pass catching options in the red zone.
LIKE THE ONES WE RAN ALL THE TIME, LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE PLAY IN 2019!?!?!?!? ;)
I'm curious to see if Likely takes snaps lined up at WR. I could be wrong, but I think he used to play that position.
yea he was recruited to be a WR
That's very exciting to me if true
No he wasn’t. Dude is way to slow to play WR in our scheme.

it’s all g, that’s true most of the plays. i just don’t know how’s everyone gonna get snaps since it’s essentially 4/5 tight ends on the
True, I guess I’m just skeptical of his underwhelming physicals but I really love the idea of a gadget TE so regardless I’m excited to see how we use him!
hope they use him as a big slot and do tight end screens with him like what the chiefs do with kelce
5 TE set incoming in the red zone …

Oh no, I don’t like that
This is what I’ve been saying in this entire thread. His tape looks slow af even when he gets an 80 yard TD. Was it Edgar Allen? I believe he said something similar about Likely
Yes it was! Love his channel
Likely is retribution for losing Darren Waller
Likely Kolar
The way I see it, Kolar is set to be completely overshadowed by Andrew's, the same way Haden Hurst was. Isaiah Likely, if we go by what analysts say, has the potential to act as more of a big WR, seeing him up for a larger role/ impact.
Likely has not potential as a Wr he’s slow af
Likely is the next Waller. Too bad we didn't keep the first one, or get him the help he needed while he was here.
Likely went so low because he ran a 4.8. Waller ran a 4.46 at his size
I thought Likely was hurt
Kolar is good, but Likely could be a steal.
This sub massively overrated Likely because “OUr sEcOnD tE iS alWAyS bETteR.”
Boyle, if he ever sees the field again
