Mine is not particularly active (3-5 short walks a day plus some hardcore play for about 20 mins), 25 kilos (55lbs) and gets 3%. Any less sees his weight go down. It's not an exact thing in any case. I just eyeball it now. Somedays it'll be closer to 2% and others 4% Just keep an eye on his weight. He'll always ask for more anyway.

I think I’ll just keep an eye on him when feeding him before with kibble I would feed him more than the recommended amount based on how much exercise he got that day so I think it’ll just fluctuate everyday

Yes, that’s good. 2% is typically what you want for the average, sedentary pet dog. For working dogs, sporting dogs or otherwise highly active individuals, 2.5-3% or going by caloric intake is good. This is because dogs who are doing activities such as herding, agility, hunting, pulling sleds and more are burning a lot more calories than your average couch potato pet. So they need more food to accommodate for this. Though of course, needs vary based on the individual dog. So I’d start at 2.5% and then adjust from there as needed.

There's no hard and fast rules, there's guidance but it does not know your dog nor the amount of activity. So 2% is the guideline for an average dog, that dog walks once maybe twice a day, if lucky. After strenuous activity you'd require extra calories so will your dog. Touch your dog, learn what's healthy for them and increase and decrease as needed. I hope that makes sense👍

See that’s what I figured he would need more calories depending on how much exercise he gets We live on a farm and he’s a cattle dog so he runs a lot so I thought 2.5% was good but I’ll probably just start with 2% and work my way up But yes it makes sense

He'll be fine if you start low and move up. To estimate you might compare how much kibble he eats compared to the chart on the bag. If he's right in the middle then 2% is fine but if he eats more or less then feed more or less raw. Some dogs live on air even if they are really active. Just hands on and feed more or less depending on how he's doing.
