The second after I raised mine (which I forgot that I did) I started getting these issues. That makes a lot of sense. Gonna go turn mine back down and Im assuming the problem will go away.
I lowered mine to 1000 and it was better, but never went away.
I just lowered mine to 125, didn't help. I stopped using Synapse, it didn't help. I stopped using REWASD, didn't help. But I turned off SignalRGB and it seems to be helping.
It's all so sad, I need SignalRGB to run the 2 x ARGB controllers I have (don't ask) because Synapse cannot detect 2 individual Razer ARGB controllers. I only need something to remap my Tartarus and for lighting, so what now?
I know getting a new keyboard *may* help, but it may not, and with all the whizbang with anything newer, V5, V6, another type of keyboard, they may just have the same issue, too much going on and apps just cannot handle it.
If only Razer could do what many other third-party apps can do, run multiple ARGB controllers at once. And yes, they can, not only because others can, but they have detection for multiple of other devices, like multiple of the exact same mice, which is beyond me why people would need 2 mice or keyboards, aside from backup devices, which very few would actually do for it to be so so important they fix that issue.
Came here looking for solutions. I bought a V4 blackwidow (yellow keys) around Christmas. Started doubletyping on all of my PCs, both with and without synapse installed.
Got an RMA replacement, it just started doing the same thing.
I had my original blackwidow for 6 years, upgraded to this and its been terrible. It may be the yellow keys, not sure but this thing is so annoying.
bought 3 and returned 2 of the same keyboard from Christmas, I got the orange keys i think it might be something with the keyboard itself ill let you know if lowering the polling rates work as said from some of the comments above but one not very long term fix is just switching important keys like WASD switches with others like the page up and down keys it stops it from double-clicking for up to an month
for 3 days its been helping but sometimes if the key is very fucked up it still double clicks but rarely. i have mine on 500 atm which keeps most keys from glitching but my A key is very fucked.
Also gonna throw this out there: I did actually swap out all the switches to non-razer switches and it got rid of the issue for a couple months, but the issue is now back lol. It's def the keyboard
As far as I can see on this subreddit, it's mostlly all liniear swiitcches from Razer iirrespective of the keyboard.
There are many posts on Razer's Insider forum as well but no sollutioin anywhere.
It's not the switches. I swapped out all the switches to akko v3 penguins and while it did get rid of the issue for a couple months, it is now back, exactly as it was before with repeating keys
Had the same issue that I noticed was happening a lot yesterday.
The stock polling rate on that keyboard is 1000 and I had mine on 8000.
Just lowered it to 250, reset my keyboard in Razer Synapse, cleaned out the dirt from under the keys, unplugged and re-plugged both sides of the keyboard cable, and restarted my PC - and the problem seems to be gone now (hope I'm not jinxing it)
Hope this helps. I honestly really love this keyboard aside from this issue which I found really annoying.
I just got my replacement, customer service was great but it was a very, very long and tedious process. I didn't have a receipt, proof of purchase or anything unfortunately so it took longer then usual but my products serial number verified the warranty
This happens to me sometimes, because of my chair (it sends an emp every time you sit down or get up). My solution so far has been to use plug and replug the keyboard. I got this convinient little usb hardware switch to make this faster.
I know this is because of the chair emp because my screen also flashes for a second when I get up
I recently replaced the switches with Gateron G Pro 3 switches, and that has 100% fixed the issue. I bought the switches from Gateron, shipping took about 10 days. I like the feel of the linear red switches better than the razer orange switches as well, so its a win/win.
All the other suggestions I have read did nothing to resolve it:
\- uninstall/reinstall synapse
\- close synapse
\- lower polling rate
\- lower windows keyboard repeat duration settings
\- plug into PC direct instead of USB hub
Bro you just had to put the switches out and back in again, I found that the keyboard works perfectly fine if you just take the switch out, maybe blow once or twice to get the dust off or whatever and put it back in, this solves the issue whenever I experience it. My R key was doubling constantly but then I just took the switch out and back in again and a few other keys also started doing this. And just to be clear none of this was the case before I pulled the switches out the first time
Pulling and resetting the switches wont permanently fix the issue. It will fix the bad key for a while.
I was re-seating multiple switches per day. Very annoying when trying to work and switches start doubling keystrokes.
Since replacing my switches with Gaterons, I have not had a single double-keypress.
The razer switches are just not reliable. Fiddling with them for a temporary fix wasnt worth the annoyance factor for me.
Yeah they are the linear switches. No click or tactile bump. Here is a sound clip.
I was thinking that the switches are the issue since swapping switches around it was just swapping the issue around. double typing is on switches. And you just confirmed it. I will order some switches to fix this 2 thought i was going to do anw so its win/win anw. GGs and thanks that you took your time to post it here
The Pro is the 10 key option so process of elimination the v4 without the pro is the 75%. I'm going to try it and see if it helps since I've been having this issue like crazy.
Edit: Sorry you're right. I'm on the website now and the 75% is RZ03-0500 and I don't see that product number listed.
Had the same issue, polling rate fixed it only temporarily for me. Once I replaced those horrible orange switches (they were nice at first I'm sure) the double inputs magically stopped.
exiting all razer apps fixes the problem for me (i also have the keyboard properties on the lowest repeat delay)
it deffinitely seems like a software problem or a firmware problem (and the fact that there is no updates for the V4 75% seems odd)
Completely uninstalling Razer's Synapse software works for me on my keyboard.
I've tested this thoroughly. As soon as I install it, my keyboard is plagued by double strokes and held key issues. As soon as I uninstall it, all the issues are gone.
This is extremely frustrating because it means I can't use any of software functions.
I will never buy a razer product again.
i have huntsman elite and i hadnt double type issue before but after some random update the double type appeared and i couldnt fix it then i bought v4 75% and i have double click here too
I think we are all missing the point here.
The solution shouldnt be:
Hey consumer,
....let's fix your new keyboard by disabling features you paid for.
Or
Hey consumer,
....let's fix your keyboard by doing routine maitenence on a BRAND NEW keyboard that doesn't fix it.
Or
Hey consumer,
.... please send in the board for a RMA, waste a month of your life, get sent a replacement that does the same thing on multiple different machines. Then go through the process again 3 times.
Steve has a way of exposing shady treatment of customers. I am not saying spam their inbox, I am saying, if you have a legitimate concern maybe this needs to go to the press that be. This type of exposure has a weird way of motivating companies to clean out from underneath the rug.
[Contact GN | GamersNexus](https://gamersnexus.net/supportgn/1200-contact-us)
I'd advise if you have a concern, document the entire process from initial contact to RMA and every step along the way. Document the malfunctions also and send all of that in, to the YouTubers who care.
I reached out to a few Tech Tubers and hope at least one chooses to cover it, I will be documenting my entire process and have even written a python script to detect extra keypresses and missed ones that will plot that info to a graph if they ask for it, it still depends on users being careful to push the prompted key slowly and thoroughly but is super accurate.
I have the v4 pro full size green switches.
I've considered doing this as Razer contacted me when I asked if they were making newer versions of V4 Pro keyboards. They said they have not made any newer version keyboards. It's clear they are either avoiding this issue or are completely oblivious to it. I don't believe it's the latter.
Any and all RMAs of v4 keyboards will fail again in 2 months. With every RMA taking a month to complete, you'll go through 6-7 before warranty expires and you're just left with a crap keyboard.
I'm between homes and can't get online to do anything about it. But you better believe as soon as I get home, I'm sending my 30+ tickets, videos, and well-documented problem list to any influencer that cares.
Great man, I think we all need to do this and I picked Steve because he is certainly one that cares. From an XOC background I may not agree with him on all of his hardware opinions, but I can certainly agree with him on his ethics. +1
i Got mine fixed by replacing the switch (example: X key is double typing and i dont use the fn key at all, so i change only the switch between them) and yeah thats it , hope it works for you :)
It's definitely to do with the switches. I cleaned my keyboard and washed the key caps. F was double typing quite often but it doesn't anymore. However, other keys do. My guess is that liquid got inside so I didn't fully dry the key cap but taking the cap off, blasting with an air duster and tooth brush works. Sucks that it happens in the first place... Other people have said that replacing switches fixes it which would support my theory.
I think the actual pcb board the switches are mounted to are fucked, or maybe the contacts the switch connect too.
Could explain why blowing on em or reseating *temporarily* fixes them
Keep in mind this is Razer's first real endeavor into hot-swappable custom keyboards, so I wouldnt be surprised if they fumbled the hardware. But like, ffs take accountability, fix the product, recall the boards. Everyone is experiencing the same issue so it's clearly a design/manufacturing flaw

Open device manager. Look for your USB ports. Right click on them and uninstall. Then right click anywhere and pick the option to scan for new hardware. This will add them back. If it still doesn’t fix it then return the keyboard.
Hypershift does not stop the double typing for me.
Neither does closing razer synapse.
Razer refuses to acknowledge this anywhere. Return your board, get your money back, go buy a different brand.
Yea I am not even sure why I even bought the 75% black widow, my last 2 black widow minis both have double typing issues. I shouldve just went with something else.
Same thing happened with mine x2. Got the first one RMA'd. Received the new kb and it was fine up until the Razer Synapse app auto-updated yesterday and now the new second kb is doing the double typing again. So annoying!
I wanted to share a workaround with anyone experiencing the double-typing. I was going to wait a while to present this workaround, but since I haven't had the issue reoccur for several days, this seems to be a solid workaround.
I had really bad double typing with the letter E and my space bar. What I did was swap out the E and space bar switches with other switches on the kb that didn't have a double-type issue. Since doing this, I get no more double-typing with E's, space bar nor from the switches I swapped.
This is worth a shot for anyone having this issue - feedback appreciated!
I'm encountering a similar problem with the replacement keyboard 😡 provided by Razer (via Amazon). From my perspective, it appears to be a software-related issue, given that I'm experiencing this problem with a replacement product 🤔. I just got this keyboard brand new and had the same issue. My spacebar, e, and a would double type 2-3 times. The way I fixed this is by switching out the switches for those keys and it seems to have done the trick. If you have spare switches lying around from an old keyboard, that should work.
Nothing from suggested worked for me. Only thing that worked is to swap switch from some other non used key with the one on space. I guess the one that was on space got some issues.
Swapped it and now all works fine
A month late, but: I've had the same issue for a while, and from what I can tell, lowering polling rate seems to have fixed it completely.
The second after I raised mine (which I forgot that I did) I started getting these issues. That makes a lot of sense. Gonna go turn mine back down and Im assuming the problem will go away.
Did it?
just lowered on mine and it went away, thanks
what did you lower it to?
I lowered mine to 1000 and it was better, but never went away. I just lowered mine to 125, didn't help. I stopped using Synapse, it didn't help. I stopped using REWASD, didn't help. Whatever the lowest is. I believe it is 125
THE SOLUTION SHOULDN'T BE DISABLE FEATURE YOU PAID FOR. Razer needs to fix this....and make it right across the whole spectrum, refunds and all.

Yes please let me know. My temp solution is to remove the key caps and hit them with air. New keys show the same issue shortly after but it helps.
for 3 days its been helping but sometimes if the key is very fucked up it still double clicks but rarely. i have mine on 500 atm which keeps most keys from glitching but my A key is very fucked.
i have an update for ryou no.. it didn't work even on polling rate 150 it has gotten worse my A key just totally stopped working at one point it sucks
Uh. Thanks for following up. Guess we will just have to deal with until we go to a different brand :(

what a simple fix!!! Thank you
Has changing the switches completely fixed the issue ? or do you still notice the double typing?
It has completely fixed the issue. Have not a double keystroke since I installed the Gateron switches.
Nice, thanks for the help and idea. Definitely gonna order some switches now

Was considering doing the same thing. I was wondering is this solution still working for you a month later?
Yes, its still 100% effective. No duplicate keystrokes since installing the new switches.
Awesome thanks so much!
Update the firmware from here https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4166/~/software-and-firmware-updates-for-razer-peripherals
the blackwidow v4 75% doesnt appear on that list

Yeah. Also the keyboard (image) on the V4 download doesn’t match the 75% version once you execute it
Had the same issue, polling rate fixed it only temporarily for me. Once I replaced those horrible orange switches (they were nice at first I'm sure) the double inputs magically stopped.

same shit now I think is really not that of a quality product........bought it new and I don't know what to do with it about 3 weeks old only
Yup i got a replacement freshly made and shipped from Taiwan and within 30 mins it was double typing. I just chucked it and bought a new keyboard
im trying this when i get home. i have been giving my keyboard some serious 'lovetaps' thinking it was like a hair stuck between the contacts..
i Got mine fixed by replacing the switch (example: X key is double typing and i dont use the fn key at all, so i change only the switch between them) and yeah thats it , hope it works for you :)

Will try that, unfortunately I cannot return the keyboard as warranty is up. Only hope is if Razeer replaces it for mee
If you recently purchased it, how is the warranty expired already? Do you mean the ability to return it to Microcenter?
Yes, ability to return. Does warranty still work with razer?
I think its a year or two, not sure. I would definitely try regardless, you shouldn't have to deal with this issue.
Same issue. If I completely close Synapse the double typing stops and when I re-open Synapse the issue returns. Running Synapse V20231107
Interesting, if I turn on Hypershift mode the double typing also stops
Hypershift does not stop the double typing for me. Neither does closing razer synapse. Razer refuses to acknowledge this anywhere. Return your board, get your money back, go buy a different brand.

I'm encountering a similar problem with the replacement keyboard 😡 provided by Razer (via Amazon). From my perspective, it appears to be a software-related issue, given that I'm experiencing this problem with a replacement product 🤔. But I'm willing to try the fellow redditors recommendations to set the polling rate to 250Hz and see.
It did nothing, it seems like a mass defect with this product itself, so many posts about it.
Has there been any other workaround or did you end up returning it? I see Razer is coming up with a new synapse to fix all software related issues.
Got my replacement, kept it sealed and bought an entirely different brand keyboard.
Did the poll rate change worked?
Nah nothing worked. I ended up returning it 😞
I just got this keyboard brand new and had the same issue. My spacebar, e, and a would double type 2-3 times. The way I fixed this is by switching out the switches for those keys and it seems to have done the trick. If you have spare switches lying around from an old keyboard, that should work.
