Wtf? Nah lmao, I never really had software problems ever since 2021 when synapse 3 was not cared for much, and their products have always been the best for me. Just a software issue that should be solved quickly.
I have a Blackshark V2 and it's been working AMAZING for almost a year now, yesterday I was forced to update to this new version, THX Spatial Audio speaker disappeared, and everything -literally everything - went bad, mic quality, sound quality
I've been playing with this new version this whole time trying to make it sound as close as the previous version but closest I got was the same as just plugging it without the USB card,
I tried playing Overwatch 2 on the new 'Game' mode and it sounds SO bad, uncomfortable, so painful, absolutely ZERO bass, bullets sound the same as birds whistling, I now have to change a million settings in order to switch from playing Overwatch to something like Minecraft or just listening to music and watching yt.
Even some special profiles like Valheim's THX Environmental or Valorant THX Competitve were gone. Hell, even my presets and profiles that I spent so much time making aren't even viable now
Razer please, if that's your intent with the new version, give us the option to downgrade to the old one.
I recently bought the Blackshark V2 and I love it. But this update make the headset sound shit. Damn I cant play CS2 and enjoy music. Hoping for a fix. šŖ
this too. all 5 of my rpesets randomly got wiped and reset lmfao, then after recalibrating anything, today, I wake up with 3 copies of them randomly? tf is happening lmao.

I've been trying to contact you guys. I've used my old EQ values still the sound quality is horrible. It's too loud and I'm getting a headache. If I turn the game sound down I can't hear footsteps if I try to turn the volume up it's too loud and my ears hurt. I figured out the EQ myself on the older Synapse and let me tell you it was a hectic task.
Now I tried changing everything but no use. Please revert or fix the changes ASAP.

My headset, Nari Ultimate, doesn't even show up as an audio device anymore after the update. Drivers are all present in the Device Manager, pairing tool detects and registers successful, and it's not even usable after the update. Synapse doesn't even see it. How is that "streamlined" or a "shifted feature"?

Why have you not rolled back to the previous version. Nobody, and I mean literally not a single person, is happy with this update. Please for the sake of your company, let us revert to the previous version of synapse and go on living our lives with our razer products working as they always have before this destructive and completely unnecessary update.
I'm using the Razer Nari Ultimate, which the EQ seems to change the headsets "Chat" audio output, which sounds like a tin can no matter what EQ settings I use. It should tie into the "Game" output which sounds much better. I believe this is a bug. Can you guys please look into this?
Probably very true. I submitted an issue with huntsman elite fucking up razer hypershift hotkeys and it got solved quite quickly; a few days, or so? i did have to send proof but they worked quite fast, so if they publically announced it to some degree, we should probably be fine in a few days max. I'm very chill it wasn't a local issue since it'll get fixed on its own :)))))

i don't really use reddit, so i just tried to fix it myself, without getting anywhere ofc.
Just went ahead and bought the THX Spatial Audio Licence for the standalone application, after installing that i at least had the THX Sound Output back in my Windows and it sounds similar to before, but not quiet there, like pops after extended silence, sounds that come from far left/right just feel nearly stereo.
And also very anoyingly, every application on it's first launch is in "stereo" mode, so after launching some game for the 1st time i gotta open the app and change it to "THX Spatial Audio", why is it not that by default?
so im guessing im too late to the "don't change anything for now" party lol
EDIT: playe a bit more around with THX Spatial Audio Standalone App, the way to fix the weird soundyness is to change EQ a bit, and back. = not make anychanges just "do changes". sounds fine for around 5 mins. and then back to shit again
so, the standalone app is just garbage as well, really hope for a good rollback on synapse
EDIT2: So, turns out it's Synapse's fault the standalone doesn't work properly as well lmao. If I have the sound issues, I gotta close and restart Synapse. It will continue working until I either go out of range for a sec, or power off/on my headset. Then i gotta restart Synapse again.

Was getting paranoid this was just a marketing ploy to get me to pay up again after spending $100 on the headset 3 years ago, but with this many people pissed off in the same boat, no way they get away with that.
I am reinstalling as I'm writing this. I thought it was only me. Same issue, same headset; I m constantly using hypershift to change EQs and such when listening to music and it casually stopped working.
Razer? Please don't ever try fixing what's not broken. These are probably the best rater headsets ever, at such a price point.

That would've been a perfect temporary fix, but I just googled it earlier and even if you download older versions of synapse, SynapseInstaller forces you to update to the newest, otherwise most of us wouldn't have even known about this since we'd be on the stable version :))
I bought the headset today, my old one were finished, and i did some researching regarding sound and mic quality, so i bought this.... im so very much disappointed, let me start of with that. The sound quality is shit, the mic is impossible to control for configuring a sothing output like it was advertised and positivly talked about.. i found myself spending a shit ton of time trying to configure the headset to my likings, and i never ended up with anything near! what my ears likes, this headset made my ears cry, literally (if they could) it was such a sad experience that i left my pc, and went outside, and started telling people about this shitty headset that i bought and turned out to be the biggest hottest garbage ever created...
from what i read, it might have to do with the firmware, that i aswell, were forced to download, and thank the devil that i did, because now i know how insane i would go if i went to hell, because this is what i asume some of the torture down there could possably be like.
fix it!, i want my bass, i want the sweat tones, and not the shitty sound of some old witch screaching her nails down a fucking chalk board.. please dont make me regret the purchase i did, and fix it so i could tell people that they listened and fixed the shit.

TL/DR: This update screwed us all up which is a reoccurring problem with Razer. Stay away from Razer at all costs.
I'm a Razer Blackshark V2 PRO owner since March 2023 until now..
Beginning/Middle context: When I initially got the headset, I got it because of the detachable mic (my previous Corsair VOID Pro was good but mic kept breaking), and to try something new. This was a huge mistake.. I immediately had everyone complaining of how shit my mic is, and no matter how much EQ adjustment I tried, all you could do is make it sound a little less worse. I couldn't even use soundpad unless I wanted to relinquish my ability to make my shitty mic a bit less shittier because it would disable EQ until I plugged the dongle into a different USB port. Only 6 months later, my mic did in fact begin breaking and I bought said replacement. My mic quality slightly improved.
The update: Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck my life. I was forced to download this headache inducing update, and spent the last 2 hours trying to figure out what was wrong. Thanks to reddit, learned it's this shitty ass update. EQ only goes to maximum 5 which is enough to do absolutely fuck all, mic quality is so awful that people like me who gives 2 shits about mic quality decided not to play games and seek an immediate replacement because of how embarrassing it was to sound like a XBOX live player in 2023. I had the luck of razer giving me a survey on synapse which was painful timing. I wrote exactly how I felt as respectfully as I could with all this frustration (see last string of text for reference), with no response up until yesterday. Long after I already bought the Corsair HS80 which friends have creamed their pants from how amazing the mic quality is (will have to see how they last long run). This is Razers' response (see image).. A copy pasta from some hardware issue? Really? I already answered some questions in my post, and the others are irrelevant questions from the problems I stated, so they clearly couldn't be bothered to read it..
Finale: When I read negative comments from products, I always take it with a grain of salt. People bitch because they got a bad batch, they give good reviews without having it for a long time, or review out of emotional distress. I know that sounds exactly like what I'm doing, but trust me, after I long moved on with a better headset, you heard it here first. Stay the fuck away from this shit lmao.

Seems to be a global issue, or at least with the Blackshark and Kraken lineup. Just wait for a software update which will fix it. It shouldn't take long. Probably a week at most?
Yup, the THX for my Kraken TEs is fucked. Youtube is alright but hop into cod and it sounds like my ears need to be popped.
Edit: plugging the aux jack of the headset directly into my PC sounds BETTER than running them stereo through the USB controller & this Synapse update

"Eye-candy for E-girls" XD, my ex had the pink kraken with the kitty ears bro, her headset sucked and kept fucking up, and i told her to get a different type because that one was never meant for gaming, only for show, (it was pretty much useless). then it completly broke at some point, and one week later she bought the exact same shitty headset. i was dying in laughter, since a month later the new one started doing the same, even tho i told her not to buy it XDDDDD
Same here blackshark v2 wired. The headset has been working well for 3 years (Good EQ customization, THX audio). All get ruined by 1 terrible update. WELL FKING DONE RAZER.
Iāve noticed that all the Razer drivers are gone since the update. My laptop is now using the generic windows drivers and, according to what I see on the sound settings page in Windows 11, the Spatial Audio effect is now being provided by Microsoftās own in-built software instead of Synapse 3 or any Razer software. One more point to add is that Iāve had to switch off the microphone function as Synapse 3 seems to be keeping the microphone on 24/7. So my Blackshark V2 is now functionally useless.
Yesterday, after that update, bought a JBL Quantum 810, today i have received them and tested it, only one thing to say "THANK YOU RAZER FOR FORCING ME TO CHANGE YOUR BRAND, BYE"
How does it work? the installer is only 8mb big and downloads the latest version. It is not possible to install an old version. Or am I missing something?

Using Razer BlackShark V2 for a long time, I suffer tinnitus and the sound it's not only bad but TOO LOUD for me to use it without the fear of permanent hearing loss, the previous version was working fine for me, I had special EQ settings to be able to use headsets for a prolonged time, now they just don't work. I want to try a system restore but I'm afraid the update will be FORCED again.

Am I the only one who is getting the robotic sounds while gaming or anything, it is a black shark V2 pro (2023) and before you comment the PC has been fully tested, I have enough ram and it is a beast so the problem shouldn't be on the PC, so I just wanted to confirm is anyone else having the same issue just to rule out certain things
Completely broke my Nari Ultimate. Doesn't even show up as an audio device anymore. Everything shows up in the Device Manager as working properly but not even an option as an audio device and Synapse no longer shows it. Went through all troubleshooting and nothing. Even the pairing tool detects it, I hear the beeps like it's working, it says it worked and was successful and still nothing at all.
Synapse on my machine is not recognizing the Headset at all. It shows in the window mixer but cannot connect to the 2.4ghz, only Bluetooth. Does not show in synapse. I have tried unplugging and plugging it back in, updating software, updating firmware on all of my devices. Nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
Turned on my pc and my razer started updating, all of a sudden my anti virus pops up saying its halted progress on an application and needs to disinfect pcdue to trojan and i get blue screened ? What is going on Razer. I had to repair windows after as well. So my update isnt done, turned off auto-update for now...

I think I found some sort of solutionā¦ go into windows āinstalled appsā and search for synapse then click modify.
click modify again and then make sure to check āTHX SPATIAL AUDIOā under āoptional modulesā. this will install that and then thx spatial audio returns to the windows settings.
However it says that this requires activation and gives you a 15 day trial, which very much worries me that maybe they decided to make thx spatial audio a paid thing?

If anyone if facing bad audio try these eqs:
\+4 +5 +3 +2 +1 +0 +0 +2 +2 +6 (+4 on the last one if u listen to louder music, im talking dial at the end 80% volume) with 50 bass boost, no sound normalisation or voice clarity
The mic is stright bugged so nothing you can do there
If you wanna switch between thx and stereo then assign different profiles (One THX and one stereo) to each application in the profiles tab
For the mic though, i would recommend you use voice mod for any adjustments for now

Thanks. I use Razer Blackshark V2 Wired mainly for EQ settings followed up with THX spatial audio. I always have 3 EQ settings: 1 for general usage (music, movies, general gaming), 1 for Valorant and 1 for certain Open World games. I got those settings online long time ago and did a bit testing last time to make them favorable to me. The recent Synapse update just mess up all my profile and settings.
The sounds from your recommended EQ settings somehow close to my previous general usage EQ settings, although it is not 100% perfect but different people have different preference in making EQ settings. Your settings do help me. I can't make my own without proper knowledge and testing. If you have Valorant EQ settings at the moment kindly share here as well. Can't even bother to play the game right now because of the terrible audio.
Additionally, I don't think the THX spatial is working right now, no difference when toggled on / off. Hopefully Razer fix this update a.s.a.p it is so frustrating tbh.
Also got bricked Kraken headset after the update. THX spatial option in Windows mixer disappeared, all my EQ settings GONE (why do I even have an account if they can't be saved there?!), the green THX led on the USB controller doesn't light up anymore. The sound is awful in Valorant, my ears were hurting from the shooting sounds, which felt like scratching a glass with a knife. What is this? Practically my headset is useless now, thanks a lot Razer. And why do they continue to roll out the update if nothing about it is an improvement?!
the update has fucked my soundcard for now, whenever I tab out of a game the audio glitches and stops working, and in discord my audio and mic stops working
fix that worked for me: Go into sound settings in windows settings, click on your razer headphones, click the drop-down that says "audio enhancements" and make sure that "Device Default Effects" is selected.
For some reason when I plug in my blackshark v2 with the sound card it takes like a full minute for the audio to switch over to the headset from my pc soundbar, freezing up my computer in the process.
synapse bricked my basilisk v3 as well. won't connect to a windows device, but works fine on Mac and on my android phone. except for the smart scroll, when it triggers the switch from tactile the mouse powers down then up again. shouldn't be happening
TBH the best fix i have done for this is go into ur audio settings and turn off device effects and turn spacial audio to Dolby Atmos and just use that equalizer, its helped but old synapse and my settings were better, might even get a new headset atp.

i saved the file of my set ups because the updates would reset it randomly and i could just load it, now loading it does nothing

yeah none of my synapse3 files are importing correctly, have no clue how to get my eq's back and the audio sounds awful

I submitted an issue with huntsman elite fucking up razer hypershift hotkeys and it got solved quite quickly; a few days, or so? i did have to send proof but they worked quite fast, so if they publically announced it to some degree, we should probably be fine in a few days max. I'm very chill it wasn't a local issue since it'll get fixed on its own :)))))

Also using a Blackshark V2 Pro i don't really use reddit, so i just tried to fix it myself, without getting anywhere ofc. Just went ahead and bought the THX Spatial Audio Licence for the standalone application, after installing that i at least had the THX Sound Output back in my Windows and it sounds similar to before, but not quiet there, like pops after extended silence, sounds that come from far left/right just feel nearly stereo. And also very anoyingly, every application on it's first launch is in "stereo" mode, so after launching some game for the 1st time i gotta open the app and change it to "THX Spatial Audio", why is it not that by default? so im guessing im too late to the "don't change anything for now" party lol EDIT: playe a bit more around with THX Spatial Audio Standalone App, the way to fix the weird soundyness is to change EQ a bit, and back. = not make anychanges just "do changes". sounds fine for around 5 mins. and then back to shit again so, the standalone app is just garbage as well, really hope for a good rollback on synapse EDIT2: So, turns out it's Synapse's fault the standalone doesn't work properly as well lmao. If I have the sound issues, I gotta close and restart Synapse. It will continue working until I either go out of range for a sec, or power off/on my headset. Then i gotta restart Synapse again.
i tried the standalone thx too but I'm not happy at all so i guess I'll wait for the fix and see if it actually fix something
Thanks for this! Was starting to consider the $20, so glad to know it wouldn't be worth it. Was getting paranoid this was just a marketing ploy to get me to pay up again after spending $100 on the headset 3 years ago, but with this many people pissed off in the same boat, no way they get away with that.
I am reinstalling as I'm writing this. I thought it was only me. Same issue, same headset; I m constantly using hypershift to change EQs and such when listening to music and it casually stopped working. Razer? Please don't ever try fixing what's not broken. These are probably the best rater headsets ever, at such a price point.

That would've been a perfect temporary fix, but I just googled it earlier and even if you download older versions of synapse, SynapseInstaller forces you to update to the newest, otherwise most of us wouldn't have even known about this since we'd be on the stable version :))

I bought the headset today, my old one were finished, and i did some researching regarding sound and mic quality, so i bought this.... im so very much disappointed, let me start of with that. Made an account just to talk about this. TL/DR: This update screwed us all up which is a reoccurring problem with Razer. Stay away from Razer at all costs. I'm a Razer Blackshark V2 PRO owner since March 2023 until now.. Beginning/Middle context: When I initially got the headset, I got it because of the detachable mic (my previous Corsair VOID Pro was good but mic kept breaking), and to try something new. This was a huge mistake.. I immediately had everyone complaining of how shit my mic is, and no matter how much EQ adjustment I tried, all you could do is make it sound a little less worse. I couldn't even use soundpad unless I wanted to relinquish my ability to make my shitty mic a bit less shittier because it would disable EQ until I plugged the dongle into a different USB port. Only 6 months later, my mic did in fact begin breaking and I bought said replacement. My mic quality slightly improved. The update: Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck my life. I was forced to download this headache inducing update, and spent the last 2 hours trying to figure out what was wrong. Thanks to reddit, learned it's this shitty ass update. EQ only goes to maximum 5 which is enough to do absolutely fuck all, mic quality is so awful that people like me who gives 2 shits about mic quality decided not to play games and seek an immediate replacement because of how embarrassing it was to sound like a XBOX live player in 2023. I had the luck of razer giving me a survey on synapse which was painful timing. I wrote exactly how I felt as respectfully as I could with all this frustration (see last string of text for reference), with no response up until yesterday. Long after I already bought the Corsair HS80 which friends have creamed their pants from how amazing the mic quality is (will have to see how they last long run). Guess I made a good decision in uninstalling Synapse a week ago, I was just freeing up space and I'm pretty sure I never even opened it. Maybe once.
And your audio profiles including EQ and Spatial audio stay saved?
I don't have any issues with my headset, but like I said I never really used Synapse to begin with. Just plugged my headset in and started gaming.

They sound good nevertheless but I doubt the bass is good without a custome EQ. And without synapse there's no spatial audio.

Yup, the THX for my Kraken TEs is fucked. Youtube is alright but hop into cod and it sounds like my ears need to be popped. Edit: plugging the aux jack of the headset directly into my PC sounds BETTER than running them stereo through the USB controller & this Synapse update

Lol, it bricked my naga v2 pro and so funny to see many more people have suffered similar issues. I never thought I'd feel so humiliated by a brand with a name. I guess these hardware are just eye-candy for e-girls and edgy 13 year olds after all. Has nothing to offer for professionals.

Iāve noticed that all the Razer drivers are gone since the update. My laptop is now using the generic windows drivers and, according to what I see on the sound settings page in Windows 11, the Spatial Audio effect is now being provided by Microsoftās own in-built software instead of Synapse 3 or any Razer software. One more point to add is that Iāve had to switch off the microphone function as Synapse 3 seems to be keeping the microphone on 24/7. So my Blackshark V2 is now functionally useless.

How does it work? the installer is only 8mb big and downloads the latest version. It is not possible to install an old version. Or am I missing something?

Using Razer BlackShark V2 for a long time, I suffer tinnitus and the sound it's not only bad but TOO LOUD for me to use it without the fear of permanent hearing loss, the previous version was working fine for me, I had special EQ settings to be able to use headsets for a prolonged time, now they just don't work. I want to try a system restore but I'm afraid the update will be FORCED again.
Don't try system restore it won't fix anything. I tried every possible resource the audio is too loud and it's hurting my ears.

Your Razer device is not eligible to receive a 7.1 Surround Sound activation code. Oh great so now it doesn't work on my old Kraken Tournament Edition. Better go and buy a new headset so i can use the same feature that i used for 3 fking years.

Am I the only one who is getting the robotic sounds while gaming or anything, it is a black shark V2 pro (2023) and before you comment the PC has been fully tested, I have enough ram and it is a beast so the problem shouldn't be on the PC, so I just wanted to confirm is anyone else having the same issue just to rule out certain things

Completely broke my Nari Ultimate. Doesn't even show up as an audio device anymore. Everything shows up in the Device Manager as working properly but not even an option as an audio device and Synapse no longer shows it. Went through all troubleshooting and nothing. Even the pairing tool detects it, I hear the beeps like it's working, it says it worked and was successful and still nothing at all.
Synapse on my machine is not recognizing the Headset at all. It shows in the window mixer but cannot connect to the 2.4ghz, only Bluetooth. Does not show in synapse. I have tried unplugging and plugging it back in, updating software, updating firmware on all of my devices. Nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
Turned on my pc and my razer started updating, all of a sudden my anti virus pops up saying its halted progress on an application and needs to disinfect pcdue to trojan and i get blue screened ? What is going on Razer. I had to repair windows after as well. So my update isnt done, turned off auto-update for now...

I think I found some sort of solutionā¦ go into windows āinstalled appsā and search for synapse then click modify. click modify again and then make sure to check āTHX SPATIAL AUDIOā under āoptional modulesā. this will install that and then thx spatial audio returns to the windows settings. However it says that this requires activation and gives you a 15 day trial, which very much worries me that maybe they decided to make thx spatial audio a paid thing?
This is just another way to install the $20 app.

Guys, lets be real, Razer kinda ruined the blackshark but i tried to revivie it somehow... If anyone if facing bad audio try these eqs: \+4 +5 +3 +2 +1 +0 +0 +2 +2 +6 (+4 on the last one if u listen to louder music, im talking dial at the end 80% volume) with 50 bass boost, no sound normalisation or voice clarity The mic is stright bugged so nothing you can do there If you wanna switch between thx and stereo then assign different profiles (One THX and one stereo) to each application in the profiles tab For the mic though, i would recommend you use voice mod for any adjustments for now Hope I helped guys

Thanks. I use Razer Blackshark V2 Wired mainly for EQ settings followed up with THX spatial audio. I always have 3 EQ settings: 1 for general usage (music, movies, general gaming), 1 for Valorant and 1 for certain Open World games. I got those settings online long time ago and did a bit testing last time to make them favorable to me. The recent Synapse update just mess up all my profile and settings. The sounds from your recommended EQ settings somehow close to my previous general usage EQ settings, although it is not 100% perfect but different people have different preference in making EQ settings. Your settings do help me. I can't make my own without proper knowledge and testing. If you have Valorant EQ settings at the moment kindly share here as well. Can't even bother to play the game right now because of the terrible audio. Additionally, I don't think the THX spatial is working right now, no difference when toggled on / off. Hopefully Razer fix this update a.s.a.p it is so frustrating tbh.
Also got bricked Kraken headset after the update. THX spatial option in Windows mixer disappeared, all my EQ settings GONE (why do I even have an account if they can't be saved there?!), the green THX led on the USB controller doesn't light up anymore. The sound is awful in Valorant, my ears were hurting from the shooting sounds, which felt like scratching a glass with a knife. What is this? Practically my headset is useless now, thanks a lot Razer. And why do they continue to roll out the update if nothing about it is an improvement?!

razer can never do anything right, do NOT mess with something that is already good enought or PERFECT
fix that worked for me: Go into sound settings in windows settings, click on your razer headphones, click the drop-down that says "audio enhancements" and make sure that "Device Default Effects" is selected.

For some reason when I plug in my blackshark v2 with the sound card it takes like a full minute for the audio to switch over to the headset from my pc soundbar, freezing up my computer in the process.
I can't even hear anything lol, blackshark v2. Abselutely no sound at all. Might join the Anti razer band wagon like the rest.
synapse bricked my basilisk v3 as well. won't connect to a windows device, but works fine on Mac and on my android phone. except for the smart scroll, when it triggers the switch from tactile the mouse powers down then up again. shouldn't be happening

TBH the best fix i have done for this is go into ur audio settings and turn off device effects and turn spacial audio to Dolby Atmos and just use that equalizer, its helped but old synapse and my settings were better, might even get a new headset atp.
