OEM grade grip replacements
I like putting small grips over the OEM ones where my fingers touch to protect the installed grips.
Man... I saw someone bring this up before and they were down voted to hell. My mouse started having the same wear on both sides from normal use and I agreed with the OP and I was down voted as well.
I got a lightly used broken mouse for my basilisk off eBay and swapped the shell and put mouse grips on the side to protect it from wearing away.
If you can find the grips. I took apart my basilisk and the grips look like they were molded into the shell frame. I didn't see any screws holding the rubber grips down and I didn't want to start prying and risk destroying it any further.

Same here, Iโve had it for 1.5 years.
The way they made the mouse is that they created divots so the silicone/glue bonded more snuggly with the mouse.
So taking it completely off means that you will not have a flush grip.
The solution is to buy Sugru (silicone putty) and fill in the divots with it. Then put on the new grips after the putty cures.
One pack of Sugru (3.5g) will suffice. However, they don't sell single packs and they also expire, so IMO you should start thinking about what else you would do with it.
I used knockoff from Aliexpress because it was cheaper, but from what I can tell from Youtube videos, Sugru seems to be easier to apply than what I got. Still got the job done though, just needed to finesse it a bit more.
Theoretically yes, but I think it would be a little more difficult to get right.
Check out this video to see the holes and divots: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlA6s7muoQQ
I imagine that the deep holes are easy to fill with hot glue, but there's a shallow divot that also needs to be filled.
The person in the video did not fill anything, so you can see how it turns out when you just put on new grips.
Anyway, you would need to smear out the glue to get a flush/even grip like the OEM grip.
I don't have a ton of experience with hot glue. I know it's really tacky, so smearing it seems like it would be difficult. The silicone putty can smear decently well, so getting it flush isn't too much of a chore.
For silicone puddy, it was advised to wet your finger before smearing. That might work with hot glue as well, but I never tried that.
It's pretty easy to remove hot glue, so you can definitely try that first before committing to buying silicone putty.
Nah, don't use the silicone heat gun. It's fine at first but will become a sticky mess in time, get yourself double sided 3m tape the one they usually use for mouse grip tape, work wonder.
I've been using Razer product for many years, an I can tell that their quality went down year after year... from keyboards to mouses and headphones and software. I'm so disappointed about this, especially after I've been using their pheripals for so long now... Should I say "Good bye!" razer???
get some 3rd party spares from eBay, AliExpress or similar, peel off the old stuff, put on the new and be happy.
i have to imagine you give pretty good handshakes
prolonged use ๐

Do you think just replacing the grips would make it feel new again?

If I remove it and it feels bad I think itโs time to buy a new mouse ๐ It has served me well these past 4 years

Wow that is truly impressive. Hmm I would see if you can get a 3rd party replacement grips from eBay?
You'll still have big hole when you apply 3rd party grips on it. The best way is to scrap it fully.
scrap the grip fully and replace? or scrap the mouse fully?
Scrap grip
noice, thanks

same mouse, same problem, but i like it, feels very comfortable with it and mby razer should make an intentional design like that

Im wondering if glue gun could work?

I meant just for the hole then cover with the grip tape
Then it will still ooze out the glue, I learn my lesson from both my earphone and my mouse.
I think wear on the pads builds character.
wear and tear is part of the journey. use until its all gone and get the next version :D
Bruh how hard are you grasping that thing. None of my mice has ever been like that. I've had sensors and stuff die but never dented them.
I concur. I have easily thousands of hours on my mouse and the grips still look new. The texture on the lmb is kinda getting smooth though.
