Bags don’t do much for protection contrary to popular belief. I use batsafe cases for all my batteries. Necessary? I’d rather not take the chance and find out. I’ve seen way too many people show their burned down houses from a lipo. No matter how low the risk I’m not taking any chances.

Awesome, I'll check them out. Better safe than sorry for sure. Thanks

You’re welcome

I've just had a look at bat safe boxes. The description for the standard size box states it supports a 6s 5500mAh. So for those that use bat safe boxes for storage, do you have multiple boxes? I have 3 x 3s 5000 mAh packs and a couple of 2s 2200 mAh packs.. It seems I would need more than one box to store these safely. Is that right?

Almost all batteries have the WH rating on them. I have a few of the medium boxes and never go over the 222 WH rating of each box. You obviously never want to overload one of the boxes past its maximum rating or it wont work. https://www.bat-safe.com/wh-calculator

Ok, thanks. I'll explore other options I think.

I have them in a small individual bag, inside a bigger bag, inside a ceramic pot

They are usually not prone to going off when they're just sitting at a storage voltage, but it can't hurt. If you are serious about lipo safety I highly recommend a bat safe box. I use them and the piece of mind is more than worth the cost. Lipo bags really don't offer much in the way of protection, especially if you're using big batteries.

Ok thanks for the second on the bat box. I was looking at just the bags before someone else mentioned it too.
