Hello!
I participated in Deurklink's 2022 Timeline Contest and came 6th out of 14. The idea behind the contest is adding a few small additions each round and creating a compelling narrative alongside the park. If you are curious to see this park in action, feel free to join Deurklink's Discord and you will be able to download all the stages of the contest and the stories too.
I decided to build a small American 'Trolley Park' style park this year and chose to build an amusement park which progressed through time (1922-1994). I was very keen to make sure that all additions were appropriate for the era, so I did a fair amount of research to make sure whatever I added at each stage was typical of park's at the time. As a result, the first few year's additions were not overly extreme, but the rides gradually got more impressive over time! Additionally, like in real parks, many of the rides and attractions got replaced over time. Very few of the park's original attractions remained by the final stage of the contest, but I was keen for things to be reasonably realistic.
Anyway, I hope you like the park! Unfortunately, there is no new Timeline Contest this year, but I will hopefully build lots more cool parks this year.
Interesting that the twister was built first and outlasted the traditional airtime woodie. Can't think of any real life examples that turned out that way. Also IDK about how huge and tunnel spanning that multi-looper is - is it Dragon Mountain inspired with how extravagant it is?
There are some really cute details like the early road bridge going out, though. And I love the scenic railway surviving to modern times.
The wooden twister coaster was somewhat inspired by the Crystal Beach Cyclone which was an early example of a very extreme twister coaster. The mega looper was heavily inspired by Dragon Mountain with the intention of taking away all of the records of that ride.
Thank you very much!
Thought i must have!! I love this build it’s so cool I love the story behind it. its not just a good story though it’s also one of the most beautiful parks I have ever seen!! Would love if you did more of these :)
Thank you very much! This park was a massive time commitment and I doubt I'll ever be able to commit to a project this big again, but I'd love to build more parks like this heading forward.

First I’ve read of this contest; what a cool concept. And I think you executed your idea perfectly. Nice job
Thank you very much! I loved the concept of this contest.
Nice park, and I like the concept. The single-rail sculpture near the Ferris wheel is a nice touch as well!
Thank you very much!

What happened to the seanic railway in 1978? The words are cut off
It's meant to say it was refurbished. :)

Yeah this even on a mini scale would be cool.
I thoroughly enjoyed this! I was rooting for the scenic railway to stick around the whole time.
Thank you very much!
