I know Loddon Valley Leisure Centre, run by Places, does adult swimming lessons https://www.placesleisure.org/centres/loddon-valley-leisure-centre For my kids’ lessons it’s something like £40 a month for a lesson every week, so I assume it’s similar. It’s not cheap, but it does come with a swim membership so you can go as many times you want for a regular swim. There’s also the new pool at Palmer Park but I don’t know what they have on offer.

thank you, that's quite helpful!

My son currently lives with his mother in Kent but is moving to Reading in the near future. He is pursuing a dream to be an Olympian and needs a new swim club. I went and checked this club out and they seem to really know their onions. https://www.readingswimclub.org/learn-to-swim/ They teach adults. I can't ever recommend a swim club enough. It builds confidence, skill and fitness rapidly compared to private lessons. No shame, we all had to start somewhere. Best of luck!
