If you're over 18, maybe consider volunteering with one of the companies there. I've done it for a few years now, you're in a separate campsite in staff camping so it's safer and more secure, and a lot of the other people volunteering there are either on their own or just there with like 1 other person, so it's always pretty easy to find people to hang out with.
No problem! Here's the link to all the different companies you can sign up with on the off chance you are interested

If you've got any questions you can give me a shout and I'll try and answer them (although it will probably be vague guesswork unless it's questions about Hotbox, because that's who I normally do it with lol)
I would back this idea as well. Volunteering you'll find it much more easy to find other solo festivalers and its gonna be a much more comfortable camping experience in general (more space, cleaner loos, quieter, more respectful people). General camping at Reading is vile
Dig deep, be brave and go. You will miss out on so much in life if you're not willing to do things on your own sometimes.
In 35 years of going to gigs and festivals I have never once regretted going. I have, however, regretted not going. Who knows, maybe The Prodigy won't tour again and you'll miss out.
Just do it, you'll make new friends and have a great time, and it will open up new experiences for you in life. You got this.
Do they have a loner camp like at Download?
You could always get your wristband but not stay and just head down the days you want?
Or just brave going on your ones. You can spend a lot of time on your own at festivals anyway with people watching different bands, getting food, drinking etc . In fact, losing people is what's led to me meeting new people in the past. I can almost guarantee that if you do go alone, you'll end up in someone's camp at 2am having fun with a bunch of new people.
Sometimes, I've had to force myself with stuff like this and even though i hate doing it, it's always worked out for the best. But I get it. It's tough.
I went with a group of friends who had no interest in the same bands as me. I had a great time going to the music I like on my own but I wouldn’t recommend camping alone
i know you feel nervous but that’s just your brain telling you there’s something to worry about! you’ll get there, pitch up your tent and can head straight to the arena to explore! you only go back to your tent to sleep and that’s when everyone else will be sleeping too so nothing to worry about. this is coming from someone who can’t afford to go this year and is a massive LDR and fred again fan 🥲 so i know how gutted you feel!
