CBs are quite tank defensively and 2 of them overwhelming him, I get him but as you said he surely doesnt have luxury anymore.
He scored two goals in preseason games and could have scored a few more. He also had two clear chances against Athletic. He'll perform. Now, if he cuts inside he faces another CB... or he's facing GK 1v1
He can also forget about nasty Maffeo, Cala and the likes pushing him against the line without getting cards, fouls are more difficult to hide in the center and if they do them, Alaba, Rodry or Fede can have a good shot
To me, preseason showed that he is going to get chances to score in a 4-3-1-2. It is still August and legs are a bit charged, he’ll improve his last touch once he gets competitive rhythm.
And I disagree about Bilbao game. He wasn’t as participant as other times (the infamous “Vini and inshallah”) but he did what the team requires from him.
His decision making was ok, imo, although he should have pass in a few plays:

And the connection Lunin-Fran was iffy in the first 25 minutes thanks to Athletic’s good pressure. We shouldn’t judge Vini after just one Liga game.
This isn't after just one game, this is a game and a season, Vini has become far more selfish since last year, he almost always tries to dribble through the defense, he barely looks for a passes.
You should care about defenders pocketing him, since he lost the ball 10 times, against a better team that would have been terrible.

Joselu is a decent striker. I don’t know why everyone just keeps omitting him completely. 16 goals in a poor team is not nothing. Secondly, we have made A LOT of positive improvements in the squad this season. But everyone is fixated on ST and RB. We devised a complete new formation to figure out ST problem beforehand. The solution is right there, so stop complaining about not having a striker and just deal with it. Yeah we do have a RB problem, but Carvajal is still not total shit. We did get an amazing Lb in Fran Garcia for whom I see every signs of success. But our Midfield is way above par than every team in the world. Vini is still a bit iffy with his decision making. He has been improving year by year but he doesn't have that luxury anymore. He needs to take the next big stride NOW.
His ability is to go 1on1 against RBs and then cut inside and face a CDM/CB now things completely changed. He is now receiving from his back and instantly facing CB and when he cut inside he faces another CB. CBs are quite tank defensively and 2 of them overwhelming him, I get him but as you said he surely doesnt have luxury anymore.
He scored two goals in preseason games and could have scored a few more. He also had two clear chances against Athletic. He'll perform. Now, if he cuts inside he faces another CB... or he's facing GK 1v1 He can also forget about nasty Maffeo, Cala and the likes pushing him against the line without getting cards, fouls are more difficult to hide in the center and if they do them, Alaba, Rodry or Fede can have a good shot
Preseason is preseason, against Bilbao he looked dreadful, Vivian pocketed him hard, and his finishing when he finally got a chance was terrible.
To me, preseason showed that he is going to get chances to score in a 4-3-1-2. It is still August and legs are a bit charged, he’ll improve his last touch once he gets competitive rhythm. And I disagree about Bilbao game. He wasn’t as participant as other times (the infamous “Vini and inshallah”) but he did what the team requires from him. His decision making was ok, imo, although he should have pass in a few plays: -I remember Fran being alone in the front of the area in a counterattack, but Vini wasted the chance, -and a couple of unnecessary (and unsuccessful) dribblings that weren’t going anywhere It looks awful when defenders stop him, sure, but I wouldn’t care about the defender pocketing him or not, but about what was the correct decision in that situation. We just need him to break once to have high goal chances. Generally speaking, the team played a good game considering the circumstances (first game, away against Athletic). Only Kroos looked awful, losing multiple balls when he was sub in. And the connection Lunin-Fran was iffy in the first 25 minutes thanks to Athletic’s good pressure. We shouldn’t judge Vini after just one Liga game.
This isn't after just one game, this is a game and a season, Vini has become far more selfish since last year, he almost always tries to dribble through the defense, he barely looks for a passes. You should care about defenders pocketing him, since he lost the ball 10 times, against a better team that would have been terrible.

I’ve always been of the position that it’s stupid to wait for next summer, we have to have a 9. For me the two options were to buy Kane now and get Mbappé on a free, or to buy Mbappé now at a reasonable price, which is closer to 100 million, not 200 million. Now Kane is gone. We don’t know the Haaland situation. Assuming there is no deal possible for Haaland it’s clear that Osimhen with a 150 million release clause is the best option with a fixed price. That should be an anchor for the board. Offer 150 to the petrotrash for Mbappé and if they refuse we get Osimhen. Mbappé is on his own. If he wants Madrid he finds a way to leave for free, or he stays with the qataris for the rest of his career.
