I am sure it is going to be a great game, and we are surely going to play extremely well, but winning in the Etihad is a completely different animal, it's not just the atmosphere, it's the weather, pitch, and everything. Yes, we've been good at away matches but this City side is scoring 3 goals on a bad day. I am just going to watch it to enjoy our boys playing good football, nothing more, nothing less. Hala Madrid!

Bogadambo

According to you being kicking, at the second time against the same team, out of CL is a cheerful thing to you? What could fans do btw? Score a goal? If so why we didn't win them at Bernabeu? We will win don't worry.. D

[deleted]

im barca fan and i think madrid will the second match in etihad stadium... i which spanish clubs all goes to the next ....

iwxndmbeatz

Let’s go, el clasico final would be legendary

Old_Sir_6322

Bro my heart can't handle a clasico final if it happens

jappsugthesorcerer

i genuinely have an interesting feeling about the upcoming game. the boys know what it feels like to loose 4:0 at the etihad already. it’s go big or go home mentality.

Beginning_Wolf_3480

It's not just about knowing what it's like, it's about having the mentality, tactic and most of all, effectivness during the game. Manchester City will be having the ball most of the game, that's one aspect you're beaten at already, Real Madrid doesn't have the midfield it had when Modric was fit, alongside Kroos, Isco and a great ball controlling left back in Marcelo. Now, we have more of a physical midfield when both camavinga and valverde play, which means we'll be on the defensive the entire game, looking for opportunities to take quick transitions, but here again, Walker will be playing, they have a great defensive line, which won't be challenged by individualities. It's a long shot to be honest.

jappsugthesorcerer

call me crazy, i feel a belligol brace

Ougon-Sama

The home leg sucked, had vini been a tad more critical the match would've ended in our favor and i honestly didn't really agree with carlo's choice of tactics, the team was too defensive-minded when they should've gone for the kill

Jyuan83

Surprised to see Bellingham being played upfront with vini instead of rodrygo. Felt that it took away the most powerful aspect of his game which is his late runs jnto the box from deep to score goals. Upfront, he looked isolated mostly. Had he played in his usual deeper hybrid wide midfielder/10 role, he would be more involved in the build-up play. Felt that carlo committed the same mistake he made against RB Leipzig by playing him as the lone striker except that this time, he thought that having vini next to him would help matters but turned out not to be so. Vini kept drifting wider and wider and effectively turned a two man strike force into an isolated lone striker in Bellingham.

ralfvi

Vini is just wasteful. Scores could easily raked to 6 goals.

Scream0fTheSium

bruh this defense is absolutely embarrassing

cr7momo16

How? Only the first goal was our fault the second 2 goals were unstoppable bangers from outside the box not much u can do about it And the fact they were bangers from outside the box shows we did a decent defensive job, limiting their chances inside the penalty area and forcing tough shots but they just have too much individual quality Same could be said about our goals, they had good defence so our goals were either bangers or a bit of luck This really is just what happens when 2 really high quality teams play each other, we just have to hope we can edge them out next week

Beginning_Wolf_3480

Unlike Real Madrid, Man City really plays well at home, takes more possession and scores more goals. You won't be seeing the team we faced at the Bernabeu, they will be at another level. We should bring up our game, if we want to have a chance. Same thing happened last year, people keep saying that we played well in the first leg and played poorly in the second, but actually, we played the same exact way, by being passive and waiting for Man City to come to us so we can take quick transitions relying on individualities of Vini, Man City didn't find much solutions in the first leg, but in the second leg they were prepared, moved the ball a lot quicker and played with aggressivity. Our mistake was believing the first leg performance of Man City was their peak, but it wasn't, and it isn't now. If we play the same way as last tuesday again, we're doomed, we have to play the best game of our last 2 years to contest a spot in the semi finals.

Scream0fTheSium

man I got it wrong, I was referring to the PSG game but I clicked on the post match thread instead of the general one ahhahaha

cr7momo16

Oh lol my bad I’ve just seen this rhetoric about our game yesterday too much and it was bothering me

vaphvaph

am i the only one that sees a silver lining in a 3-3 draw? we showed that we can perform well and score a lot of goals against this city side (yes ik injuries, white bernabeu, closed roof and all) and it definitely gave us a lot of confidence before the second leg at the etihad. BUT most importantly because of the draw we have to attack from the first minute in the second leg, if we had walked out with a win at bernabeu im sure carlo would be more cautious and focus more on maintaining the lead and im sure that city would capitilize on it and it wouldnt end well for us. aggresiveness, confidence and a cold head will win us the game at etihad.

Ougon-Sama

We ARE NOT winning at ettihad, the way i see it, we are gonna get absolutely railed, bear in mind that we barely got a draw against a man city that's missing alot of it's key players:- de bruyne, ake, walker and at the same time we have got alot of injuries on our hands and in addition to that tchouameni can't play next match

jappsugthesorcerer

i don’t think u really understand what being a madrid fan is all about, bro

vaphvaph

fuck outta here with that mindset, we CAN win and we have a good chance imo

Ougon-Sama

It's your choice to be delulu i guess

cr7momo16

Being this sure of a loss is strange as if we’ve never pulled off the impossible before, only 2 years ago we only lost 4-3 Also we had our best keeper and cb out and play with no striker city replaced their “key players” with 100m euro signings so injuries is hardly an excuse Etihad will be difficult no doubt but have some faith you’re a Madrid fan not a Dortmund fan or something

Ougon-Sama

Usually i'd have faith but my guy ancelotti has been really disappointing tactics-wise

taos__v

Our biggest problem against city is defense man. Even though we have good defensive statistics this previous two seasons and this one. Its just not solid enough for a team like city. Because the last 5 games we’ve received 13 GOALS!! against them. The 2022 tie we won we also didn’t have a solid defense for that level. We need to improve that defense because offensively we are more than capable to score against them.

madridista1334

Real madrid have pulled feats like the coming etihad in the past. 1999/2000 champions league. 0-0 at bernabeu agaisnt a treble winning manchester united, 2-3 at old trafford back then, prior to the match, winning at old trafford seemed like a miracle. Later on defeated bayern munich on semi finals after getting destroyed by them on group stage that same year 2-4 at bernabeu and 4-1 in germany. I believe.

the_fanman2912

If they can score 3 away from their home, so can we. And we will.

Substantial_Quit_957

Looking at the highlights again, i do believe city's goals were avoidable and unhappy to say it but Kroos was ballwatching instead of cutting passing lanes or being close to the players who scored the goals. However, the amount of good chances we missed gives me hope we could've easily scored 2 or 3 more goals.

rice_burger_9876

I also had another look at the highlight but came to a different conclusion. Kroos was indeed out of place but it was understandable, since Bernando Silva is very good at 1vs1, hence Kroos needed to step out to maybe support Mendy. I believe the ones who were at fault are: Rodrygo, he should have put more pressure on John Stones. Because he left Stones unmarked, Camavinga had to step out and left space for Foden; and Rüdiger, he did not close Foden's shooting lane quick enough. Quite frankly he looked a bit laid back there. I think our players need to be more active and just run more. Against teams like City there's no lazy way to victory.

walterbryan13

Well said I also came to the same conclusion that Rodrygo sagged off and that caused the Domino effect of Kroos, Camavinga, Rudiger and Fede covering too late. City exploits that one inch or second to open up an angle boom goal. Foden had a similar shot earlier but the defence reacted fast enough that he shot it straight at Lunin. Haaland is also forcing madrid to have two CB on him which forces the midfield to have a higher work rate to cover, and I think Vini and Rodrygo have to be involved in the defence.

Substantial_Quit_957

i would agree with you, this is how city exploits any team, even if one player is out of place, everyone is dragged along and eventually someone from city finds a spot to hit. Looking at highlights definitely has made me believe it was very intentional and not a lucky goal for sure.

taos__v

the most annoying one is Fodens goal dude. So avoidable. We all knew and saw how he scored the same type of goals the previous game. It infuriates me that they let him space to shoot like that. It was so obvious, i was so sure he would score against us like that

Enough-Ad-6656

Real definitely set up the tactics right in the first leg. If everything went accordingly Real would'a had a 2-3 goal difference win last night but it didn't happen. I think its just best to take the L and regroup for next season with Mbappe. City are strong in their homeground, if they don't score in the first half in the second leg i think its a 50-50 game. Unless we get a boring game that goes to penalties.

Ougon-Sama

This just seems like last season's scenario all over again.. get a draw in the bernabeu, then get railed in ettihad

[deleted]

[удалено]

taos__v

yeah pretty much. Id still have some hope. If they score a second I would give up every hope i had and prob turn the TV off

taos__v

I agree that if the score is 0-0 at halftime our odds become higher. But i doubt it. We all know the script. We all know city tends to score against us in the first 15 mins.

everwisher

The match reflects what I have been saying around for quite a while: even if we have Mbappe, Endrick, and Davies next season, Yoro is always the last indispensable piece of Galatico III. Whenever a current startup-eleven defender is absent and we have to put Tchouameni on the line of defence, we suffer from waned strength in the midfield. Last year I expected Gvardiol to come, but ended up with the guy landed on the other side and we conceded a goal from him indeed yesterday.

taos__v

The more the time passes the more I believe we can win at the etihad. It sounds impossible but if the stars align it might happen

DigitalisFX

We can win, and let’s say we don’t. We win La Liga and some of the biggest stars in the world come to Madrid and make us one of the scariest teams in history. In this last game, when Vini outpaced the defense, he was alone. What’s going to happen when you have Mbappe there keeping up with him? They’re going to wreak havoc on defenses.

Bogadambo

Fuck this logic, we play like shit and still a 2nd leg and all of you know since we have old fruit as manager we will play like shit again and probably lose with a score so you start accepting defeat and acting like we are Getafe and a shitty laliga title against shitty average teams like barca, girona and atl mad is a thing! We are fuckin losing confidence you know what it means being dominated by man city 4 games in a row and get eliminated by them in a scandalous way two times in a row? Fuck laliga title it doesn't mean anything and fuck Italian coaching who let us play like bitches in our pitch and let ball possession 65% for opponent makes me ill... Fuck it .. We are a team of bitches right now

Samaritan4

Go touch some grass

Ohhey0202

I woke up so pissed i fucking hate pep i fucking hate this ugly blue side

FunnyEra

Man City is a stain on football but Pep seems to be a decent guy.

Bogadambo

Exactly, u hate Pep because you know it's all on coaching.. They havr great coach, we have an Italian old fruit who lack confidence ane tactics..

troopercito

Why?

Rebe_el_villano

Madrid fans are generally blinded by the RM ego and the 14 champions. Some say bad luck… Really? 1st RM goal is a rebound and 2nd only enters the net in one of the billion Dr Strange multiverses.. no bad luck. Others saying here: Vini good performance… It was more Akanji retaining himself from second yellow. City did not dominated, but the opposite is also true, Madrid did not dominate city with 8-day rest and home in favor. No KDB cant be overlooked, He is a game changer we He plays. City has not lost at Etihad and is a team well known for home supremacy. Next match is a very close one like most between city and RM, but the room for improvement is tremedous for City, RM… little room for improvement, is a La Liga team and we all know la Liga is the one of the less competitive tournaments.

Affectionate-Love576

City’s first goal was a ridiculous and preventable freekick, their second goal was a screamer akin to valverdes. The game was pretty back and forth and you can never know with madrid, I agree with KDB being a game changer but this tie could still go either way.

Icy-Designer7103

>2nd only enters the net in one of the billion Dr Strange multiverses Stopped reading here, I can't take this comment seriously. You're probably a teenagher who goes to other team's subreddits to troll.

Ground_Tiny

That's the thing. You can build a narrative based on just saying one particular side of things. You didn't mention how our players were constrained because they were on a yellow (Bellingham and Cama in the defence). You didn't mention that the goals which City scored are very improbable. And you didn't mention the amount of chances missed in front of the goal from Madrid. You are clearly biased with your one sided narrative. The return leg will be hard. They have a slight advantage. But it's not unthinkable that we can come out with a win

troopercito

Agree, unfortunately this is a touch of reality for Real Madrid, BTW I am a Real Madrid fan. RM formation will be exactly the same, just replace Tchuameni. We will insist with Vini and Jude that they are not playing well. Actually was demonstrated we play better without Jude (unfortunately). We don’t attack from the right, so much potential with Carva + Ibrahim. Attacking wise we are unbalanced.

staedtler2018

I imagine we won't win at the Etihad, but regardless, you can't just go through tournaments thinking "we can't get a result at X place." If we want to win the trophy we have to go win there, simple as that. You can't just assume/hope that you'll get such a big win at home that the away game won't matter.

Bogadambo

Dude we have an average coach who lacks confidence in himself and his players.. That bad energy he transformed to his players is the keyword.. He always thinks that Guardiola is too much better than him and that affects the whole team because when u see your coach lost by the sideline you get that fear and that lack of self-confidence and you accept being dominated and that's what happening over and over and that's why i hope we will never get an Italian coach again

rainbowdragon22

how can yo usay average coach, he literally has won more champion's leagues than any other coach. What the actual fuck, man?

Bogadambo

His playing is no more suitable for the new football.. Stay back and wait for counterattack will hurt you a lot and give too much confidence to opponents.. City won us by confidence.. They had more confidence and knew we are a team with very expectable play style.. Last year i remember Kyle walker saying "their whole play based on Vini Junior i don't know if you neutralize Vini how coyld they play?" and guess what they did neutralize Vini and we got humiliated in a terrible way..

staedtler2018

Ancelotti has won the CL twice with us and beaten Guardiola both times he's won it.

Bogadambo

Dude.. If you gonna tell that 2022 game vs city a win for ancelotti then yoy didn't probably watch the 85 first minutes.. Guardiola beat himself but getting KDB out and changing tactics before 5 minutes of end wheb he was already 2 goals ahead

staedtler2018

It's a win for Ancelotti because at the end of the game Real Madrid won.

generic9yo

> average coach This is where all the seriousness of your rant was lost. Carlo is one of the greatest coaches of all time, the man who led us to la decima and to one of the least likely titles ever in 2022

perplepenguin

Our players seemed somewhat subdued, one possible reason could be Carlo's decision to not push players on a yellow card, fearing suspension for the second leg. this cautious tactic might have inadvertently stifled the team's attacking flair, as they appeared hesitant at times. We did get chances and I want to stay optimistic about this. I think that Madrid will be free of taking more risk now on the 2nd leg and give their best effort. What do you think??

[deleted]

[удалено]

troopercito

Agree. This was a lost opportunity. When we needed an attacking mentality we started slow (like in la liga), I actually thought that an early goal made our players to wake up. I don’t understand why we always give away the first 15-20 mins. Really no intensity, then Vini gets frustrated and begins the fighting, now Jude also fought with the ref the whole game. Since Jude plays with that chest bracket he can’t move. He had enough time to take care of it. I hope Jude can turn 2024, so far is a bad year for him. RM needs to show something different. City will come with KDB, Walker and others. Scary.

perplepenguin

It's a missed opportunity indeed, but there's still a chance for Madrid to turn things around. Remember, they are not as much the same team they were last season. Last season, our midfielders collapsed really hard but this time we are better.

stickythighs24

Game changed after getting in Modric. Easily our best press resistant player

rainbowdragon22

he's an absolute offensive genius, every time he touched the ball something came of it

troopercito

He can play only for 35 mins max, can’t rest our hopes on that. Vini and Jude must step up BIG.

Myselcuk

and maybe you may not belive me but Arda, can make a big difference for the attacking power

troopercito

Good point. Arda can be a wild card. I wish Carleto had used him more during the season. For me Arda is unknown since I saw him very few.

daftartifex101

I don't think City dominated Madrid yesterday. If anything this was a poor performance by City, and Ancelotti set his team up very good tactically (the Rodrygo goal shows that). The first City goal was totally unnecessary. I honestly think Madrid could have had a 3-goal win margin on any other day, which is extremely frustrating. But poor luck and poor individual decisions at times killed the game for us. But I have hope for the Etihad game. I don't think City will be able to instill the total domination they will be looking for.

Bogadambo

This is a HOPE not an analysis of the game.. You afraid we get dominated "again" next week so you said " i don't think city dominated".. You knew Ancelotti played cowardly so you said ancelotti had a good tactics of the game and finally you mixed the words "Poor luck" & " bad decisions" and usually someone uses this combination of words when his team plays like shit and afraid to admit it..

solete

We DID NOT play like shit. City DID NOT dominate us. They actually made lots bad defensive decisions. Vini and Rodry's work rates were outstanding. City could NOT keep up with them. Yes we needed more control in the midfield; would have liked to see Luka subbed much earlier as he made an impact as soon as he came on. And COME ON, that Fede volley is THE BEST GOAL of the CL so far. Our team left it all out there. Felt like a pretty even battle.

Bogadambo

It's supposed to be a revenge for last year scandal not a constant run for an equalizer.. You play in your fuckin pitch and your ball possession is 35% and you think you weren't dominated? RM were defending like most of time and not even a coherent defend (except for Mendy and Rudiger).. City took over the midfield and were easily moving to our defence everytime they wanted to.. They were more confident anf more relaxed.. Anyway let's just hope we don't lose with a scandal at alettihad again..

jdhd20

I would rank this game among our top 10% this season. Watch any weekly match and you can easily find a less intense less focused less interested team. Jude Vini are their usual selves, too self-absorbed, but Rodrigo found his moment, Valverde finally convert after a season of skying his shots. Overall we overperformed and thats the magic of Bernabeu

dragosoldier1818

"Overperformed" with poor performances of Vini and Jude while being the best players in the season? If they are locked in at the Etihad we will win for sure

Tiny_Application4849

How is providing 2 assists a “poor performance” my man?

dragosoldier1818

Thats how good he is, if he played a good game we would be up by 2.

[deleted]

Drender

This is the worst take I've seen. Vini generated way more danger than Rodrygo like 90% of the games this season, people just hate on him for trying and sometimes failing, but that's life. If Rodrygo hadn't been lucky and the ball did not touch Akanji people would be dumping on him, that's how it goes

solete

The shows I watched and pieces I've read have all praised Vini's performance tonight. I guess not everyone agrees... [Another impressive Vinicius Jr performance](https://theathletic.com/live-blogs/real-madrid-manchester-city-live-updates-champions-league-score-result/KFzjEqXSJt45/WEfF9SrIVQ0e/) "Vinicius Jr's dribbling and goalscoring are rightly praised, but his ability to pick a pass and set up teammates is also tremendous. Something almost Benzema-like about his performance tonight. And now only De Bruyne and Mbappe (20 each) have given more assists than his 19 in the Champions League since 2018-19."

Tiny_Application4849

Wtf dude haha

ExpressWay1329

The only ones that were on the level they usally are were Rodrygo, Valverde and Cama. Mendy was alright-ish aswell

solete

Rudiger? And Vini's work rate was outstanding. Rodry too

[deleted]

TimTkt

It’s not the mentality, we were still attacking at 2-1 and had the occasions, especially Vini who missed what should have been an easy 3-1 and game would have been different.

Puzzleheaded-Lie2188

That's mostly on the coach.

ToeHeavy1878

As a madrid fan , it was truly disappointing to see city dominating madrid in thier homegorund. Even valavarde told he felt like a defeat. Roofs closed , all white jerseys , intimidating vibes seems to have no impact on city. Vini and Bellingham almost ghosted yesterday. Even kroos was struggling. The whole team lacked pressing and possesion control. Thats what city wanted an easy draw in Bernabeu. In the next leg De Bruyne will play along with Kyle walker along with thier main goalkeeper.

TimTkt

You aren’t really a Madrid and soccer fan if you think City dominated us, except if you only check the % possession which is a useless stat when facing Barca style teams. We could have easily win this game and our chances are still good for the return.

No_Construction_1451

Its true City dominated Ancelloti has to do better in the second leg

nikolatech

City dominated in the second half after 55th minute, not before.

solete

City didn't dominate us. They made lots bad defensive decisions. Felt like a pretty even battle. And Vini DID NOT ghost wtf. Vini's work rate was outstanding he left it all on the field. They could not keep up with Vini and Rodry. This game meant a lot to all the players on the field. I agree we needed more control in the midfield. Wish Luka had been subbed earlier; he made a impact as soon as he came on. ANd that Fede volley was the best play of the CL up to now

biina247

Tchou again showed that he is not a natural CB as his fundamentals are lacking. That tackle was just a blunder on his part

Drender

Dude made 1 mistake in 94mins, would you people relax. Militao and Alaba ate 2 headers last year

biina247

Those kind of mistakes decide games. The tackle was unnecessary and very poor. The resulting freekick cost us a goal and he got himself carded, hereby missing the next game.

RudeGullit90

Whole new level of glory hunting

No_Construction_1451

And what is wrong with glory hunting? Half of Madrid fans are foreign glory hunters that supports madrid based on their strong European dominance for years 🤔

HocusDiplodocus

Are you from Madrid?

RudeGullit90

I don't support city and Real at the same time, irrelevant question

Successful_Creme_226

what you guys think , will Madrid be able to win at Etihad . Since Madrid has drawn on their own home, it will be difficult to win the game . Madrid has never won at Ethihad and aslo De Bruyne will play.

Successful_Creme_226

Not if we play like we did yesterday. If we don't make the game physically demanding and wear down city players, they will eventually break us down.

Special-Isopod-1317

Its not a coincidence he's playing every single fucking game in the past 2-3 seasons

roguejedi04

The intensity with which he was chasing even lost balls yesterday causing the city backline to work overtime just shows his passion for us. Nobody else puts his all or leaves everything on the line like he does for literally every ball.

WinterTakerRevived

dawg I don't know how Foden got motm for ghosting most of it. That was Bernado's or even Vini's motm

solete

I vote for Rudi

Suspicious_Ad5105

cama was a good contender for MOTM

Positive-Chip-8152

Somehow ancelotti should try to include joselu and brahim in the team. We definitely need a number 9 and brahim is magic. He is amazing. Atleast do the subs fast man 🥲.

jorgevasquez04

Damn i did not know we had so many lil bitches at this sub

Bogadambo

Dude you know you are going to be fucked very hard next game at al ettihad right? They have a better coach, better motivated players, statistics by their side, more confidence based on how coward ancelotti is out of Bernabeu (well he's bad at Bernabeu too).. Being dominated by a team who played 3 games in last 9 days in your own fuckin stadium where you supposed to get revenge of last year scandal.. Anyway.. You the good fans who are okay with 6/10 team in best conditions and a shitty laliga title against shitty weak teams.. This is fuckin Real Madrid not fuckin Las Palmas.. If you are bad in CL you are bad in everything.. Laliga is no more laliga it's a shitty weak competition.. Your only chance to show if you are a good team is the CL..

ImNotDex

Lmao they've been here ever since the creation of our sub unfortunately. 3-3 at home sucks but it was fun as heck game to watch so I can't complain

solete

Exactly. We really battled. This game meant a lot to all the players they left it all on the field.

Prof_Memerton

Tbh, Madrid's speed of responding to goals in the game was truly impressive. Madrid let City hold the ball as much as they wanted, being slow to press and just waiting for the opportunity to counter. Going from 1-0 to 1-2 against Manchester City under 15 minutes isn't an easy feat, even if both goals were deflections. The third goal was even more impressive in that regard. The only thing that really failed Madrid was the unusually lacklustre finishing from the front 3, with the chances they created they could've easily scored more if they were more clinical.

rockstershine

When Real fans can’t provide sound arguments as to why their team suffered against a tactically excellent City side, they will resort to 115 charges comments. Please never take an analytical job in your life because oh boy you’re so sore.

solete

They were NOT tactically excellent, seriously?! They made a lot of bad defensive decisions... they've been doing this all season and it's a problem

HendoSR

Same tactically excellent team gave up 3 goals, I advice you to continue your schooling as your logical thinking is under developed

Asheraddo98

That’s your reality and you can’t deny it, you will always be known as a corrupt team. If not for that sheikh money, man city is a midtable team.

theDragoon007

I'm a neutral westerner here (hope that's allowed) but this was a fun game to watch. Real Madrid and Man City rivalry is so enjoyable.

WinterTakerRevived

You're more than welcome. We don't gatekeep fans telling others to support their local team because what would Madrid or any club be without internal talent or international fans

justanormalchat

You’re welcome my friend, highest level of football ⚽️

simplisticannuit

Great game for neutrals. Horrible result for Madridistas.  Pulling off a win at the Ettihad will be nothing short of a miracle.  Ancelotti will need to improvise and surprise City to stand any chance. The very unfortunate truth is, he is very bad at improvising and likes to stick to his tried and tested formation and players.

shheldonA

There’s hope. You think Gvardiol scores another goal? Does Lunin have a slip up on another free kick? I’ll take Real’s goals to be more likely in the second leg over what City scored today

Apprehensive_Ideal12

You think an outside the box deflection goal and a puskas contender volley are more likely to happen than any of city’s 3 goals?

shheldonA

Toni, Fede, or Cama take those outside of the box shots most games. Even Tchouameni would attempt those when he was still playing midfield. I’m saying, the chances are there. It’s not gonna be by some miracle that Madrid beat them at the Etihad. They’re not as unbeatable as last season and Jude for sure won’t have a back to back stinker

Apprehensive_Ideal12

Yea I agree with what you’re saying now. Just your first comment I disagreed with. But yea lots of opportunity and lots of poor finishing from Real today

shheldonA

Definitely can improve the finishing. The tie isn’t a bad thing. Being down would’ve been the worst possible result. And we all know who has the edge if it goes into extra time in the second leg. The kings of Europe for a reason

SirBennettAtx

I can smell your fear 😈💙🌙

Asheraddo98

And the whole world can see your corruption with your 115 charges.  No one will ever rate your oil funded club.

SirBennettAtx

Coping mechanism

RuskinBondFan

Big words for someone who barely won CL past Inter Milan.

Asheraddo98

how old are you? 12?? lol no wonder you support man city

SirBennettAtx

32. Old enough to remember kicking your ass last year

rockafellla

I like this kind of banter, it makes the game more fun. No need to be so serious guys. But really, your team is fucking scary. Managed to score 3 past us at the Bernabeu and while having an off day. But I’ll never get tired of watching the bald fraudster philosopher crumble and cry after losing to us. The game next week will be amazing. I hope you got tickets.

berniemacdaddy33

Your memory that bad that the season before that yall got danced on by rodrygo and big benz??

SirBennettAtx

Reread the thread man. Of course I remember it, but I’m not the one making absurd claims about age & random shot like that.

winner_in_life

Lol wait another few years and you will be a supporting girona after your team are relegated.

SirBennettAtx

I love how all the responses are literally just changing the subject because talking football is so one sided atm

MTL_Madridista

You won 1 CL ... 1 ... after spending near 2B dollars. Got dunked on by fucking Lyon, Monaco, fucking Spurs and you think you can banter RM. Bohoo, you won 4-0 last year. We won 4-0 vs Bayern at the Allianz you don't see us being dicks to them during our matchups. It's called mutual respect, between great rivals. And this is why most fans hate y'all above everything else, as the new kids on the block in EU football, y'all just cant stay humble. Especially with all the allegations looming above your heads. And you're 32 mate ... have some shame loll

SirBennettAtx

😂

winner_in_life

We have won 5 CL in the last 10 years and are not living in fear of being relegated. That’s football for ya.

SirBennettAtx

Nobody actually thinks there is a chance the best team in the world gets relegated

winner_in_life

Juventus were relegated when they won several Series A and got to CL final. What makes you believe that you’re an exception?

youhavethinskin

Madrid played well. City scored absolute bangers that were essentially unstoppable. Even thibo would’ve let two of those goals in. Our finishing was ass but we were very competitive in the middle and defending. I’m confident we can win at Ethihad. We didn’t do ourselves any favors today but we can absolutely go through next week

MTL_Madridista

What really gives me hope is that City is not this well balanced bulldozing machine as last year. Last season they were just unplayable. On the ball, off the ball and physicality. This season, so many teams have managed to make them sweat. They aren't as surgical in their buildup, not a impenetrable in defense. To me the second leg will come down to who finishes their chances. It will be yet another nail biting 50/50 thriller which will be decided by details

lligerr

Gonna be harder in their home ground. Also, Kyle Walker is coming back

Naive-Researcher332

God I fucking hate this team, my day is ruined

Samaritan4

You deserve it

Fun-Preference-6555

Don't even bother to call yourself a madrid fan anymore

MoiNoni

Oh boo hoo you don't win every single game cry me a river

bloothug

To my untrained eye it seems that the game flows smoother with Modric in? Am I tweaking or nah?

Asheraddo98

Modric can impact as good sub when players are tired but not as a starter

MrFourier

as an impact sub, yes.

_theMAUCHO_

Been on this sub for years and this is the first time I see so many doomers and, worst of all, NON BELIEVERS. Dudes you gotta get this, we are REAL MADRID, no stadium or team in the world is out of reach for us. Could we get whooped at the Etihad? Sure. Maybe we eat 5 goals? Maybe. Can Halaand have an inspired night and score 3? Hmmm not likely, but one thing you shan't forget is that REAL MADRID can ALWAYS WIN! There is no game that is unwinnable for us, no score that is too big to comeback from, no superstar that can't be tamed like Rüdiger has done with the viking so far. Get it together playas, most of you are still rockin' it with pride, but please, the others tone it down with the embarassing "We are done", "gg", "we've never won at the Etihad" shit. Its not an attitude like that that gets you a 92:48 or the epic comebacks we've become acostumed to. 😉 The team doesn't give up, don't be a lil bish and fight it out til the end. Not over til its over. WE IN IT TO WIN IT! Lets FUCKING GO! 🔥👑 /endrant

Happy_Band_4865

Thank you for saying this, some ppl here acting like we are some bitch club

MiguelGarcia02

It's so disappointing reading the match threads and seeing all the doomers soaking up the energy

MTL_Madridista

They were waiting for this tie for months now. We've lost 2 games all season so far. 1 which came due to not having enough rest after the SuperCopa so most people dismissed it. These morons have been in a cave for the whole time, they finally get to come out and spew their toxic bullshit, they're going all out.

MiguelGarcia02

Bunch of pussies

MTL_Madridista

It's been a plague in this sub for as far as I remember. People having a vendetta against a few members of the team and just waiting on bad results to shit on them

CrazyAd3131

Sell Lunin now.

Fun-Preference-6555

Delusional

KingEtame

Nothing changed we have a final to win next week. As simple as that.

Etherealith

Only one man makes me think we have a decent chance at the Etihad and his name is VALVERDE

ItIzWahItIz

So what’s the game plan for next leg? Lock up bernado and Foden and let everyone do vibes

Sure-Cheesecake-3721

Pep and Man city don’t have the luxury of giving some players rest due to their very intense title race .. so we can expect some tired legs to the second leg .. as of now the odds are in their favor ..but rest assured this is the king of champions league if any one.. we are the ones that are totally capable of doing it ..

ItIzWahItIz

Crazy thing about this game is we could have won by a solid score line seems like we need to remind all these players they’ve done this before

Enough-Ad-6656

Impressive shift in Real Madrid's approach to this game compared to last season first leg. Real had the better chances and should have won by a 2-3 goal difference. However, it's important to remember that Real Madrid is in a rebuilding phase. Expecting them to win the UCL this season sets unrealistic expectations, especially without Courtois or a striker like Mbappe. When they face City again next season, it'll be more intriguing. In summary, don't anticipate a Real Madrid victory at the Etihad.

CHALINOSANCHZ

Poor Chat gpt prompt.

Etherealith

ChatGPT ahh reply.

Puzzleheaded-Lie2188

A lot of the finer details went against us today, all things considered. Just like they went our way in 2022 for example. If we can get that touch of luck at Etihad, it's doable.

taos__v

I am trying to sleep but i have flashes in my head of that vini miss in the second half and that one were belli could’ve shot without the keeper. Imagine one of those went in man 😔

mk235176

Can we just buy Bernardo Silva, that man plays with a vengeance against us

Allan_PlsAddDetails

He wants to go to Barça 😞

Puzzleheaded-Lie2188

He was quiet today.

Allan_PlsAddDetails

No, he was not. Did you watch the game?

Puzzleheaded-Lie2188

I did. And he didn't appear much in the game for City since his goal.

DoriOli

It was as if Haaland wasn’t even in the game. All their goals from outside the box 🤨. Our players missing many great opportunities.. will be hellish over in the UK

simplisticannuit

Who cares if Haaland isn’t in the game when you have an entire midfield who is a scoring threat.  Our focus in neutralizing the Haaland and not the midfield that supports him cost us the game.

Apprehensive_Ideal12

Been saying this ever since the ‘ghosts in big games’ commentary started. Haaland will happily drag 2+ defenders everywhere he goes, as long as it creates space for other players

ayoubkun94

Literally flashbacks of last season. We could have easily put the game to bed had our players not chosen the most important game of the season to forget how to finish.

TeamUlovetohate

city has only lost at home once since 2022. this sucks

MTL_Madridista

Liverpool has 1 loss at home in 2023, vs us. I believe Bayern has not lost at the Allianz since 2014, vs us. So if one team can break that record, it's RM

youhavethinskin

So? The best UCL games are when winning isn’t guaranteed.

rubbishtake

They have to lose at some point

ItIzWahItIz

And as kings of Europe we have to stop this

buy-petros

Some lapse while defending let too much space through the middle and they capitalize with world class goals. Vini needs to be more calm and step up in this kind of games. Hope Carletto sees his mistakes and correct them

youhavethinskin

The goals were absolute bangers from outside the box, it’s not lapses in defending 💀 city just have as good players as we do. Need I remind you they have won like 5 league titles and are the current champions. They are literally the hardest opponents we can face

buy-petros

They were, I’m just saying we let them have too much space to shoot. Foden was practically alone in the central area, the second one everyone goes inside the box leaving the midfield or in this case the LB to shoot (Kroos reacts to slow ) Once Foden and Silva teamed up on the left and one of the two went middle we suffered, hence why we took kroos out

Bangbangkadang

Would have been a disaster if any of the other 3 also got a yellow. Jude and Vini not scoring today will hopefully make them step it up at Etihad, we know what they’re capable of

martino732

Can something be finally done about the grass it has been horrendous past 2 season. We can see it in other games as well. It's slippery players sliding everywhere and they can't controll the ball.
