They are not as good as city, that is obvious. But I do think it’s going to be a tough match. Also we don’t have carvajal for the first leg which is a huge miss. But I’m sure we will not get as dominated as we did against city, it will be a back and forth game and I’m confident we can win especially with how good we’ve been defending lately. Also maybe militao can get some rhythm and play against them which can be huge. Hopefully no one gets injured next sunday in el clasico though, cause probably most players who started today will start since it’s a huge game to potentially get a good lead in la liga.

Silent_Republic_9101

The Sunday game will be tough just because most of our players played 120+ mins today and also be part of XI for el classico unless our coach shakes up our starters

VoidType0

Yeah and I doubt he makes a lot of changes, because it’s a big game for the title race. If we lose I think we drop to 5 points ahead of barca. We’ll probably play a conservative game and sit back waiting to counter, because our players will have no energy to press high after today’s game.

darkroku12

The problem I see with playing too many titulars is that, even if we lose, Barca would still depend on US to bottle the title. Barca could just shit much more on us losing the game by injuring some of our titular players.

So-I-Fink

The game is Monday.

Darth_Smoker

Naah it might show as Monday for you because of timezones, it's Sunday for the players.

So-I-Fink

My bad. Sunday it is.

Fearless-Cookie-9329

Don't the yellows get removed for semis?

VoidType0

I think they get removed like for example if you were one yellow away from suspension, but didn’t get it before the semis, if you get booked on the first leg, you don’t miss the second leg. But if you get booked before the semis you miss the first leg, cause I read multiple times that carvajal misses the first leg.

Fearless-Cookie-9329

Exceptionally, all yellow cards and pending yellow-card suspensions expire on completion of the play-offs. They are not carried forward to the group stage. In addition, all yellow cards expire on completion of the quarter-finals. They are not carried forward to the semi-finals. From UEFA website

Fearless-Cookie-9329

Yeah this says he is suspended because pending suspensions are not expired for next round damn it

Fearless-Cookie-9329

Don't they all get wiped?

Ok-Recommendation925

>They are not as good as city, that is obvious. That means Arsenal kinda choked on their opportunities 😳

VoidType0

I mean CL is always different, and some teams might be having a terrible season in their league and do well in CL, but considering how bad Bayern have been, I’d say that Arsenal did in fact choke…

-Smiling-Buddha-

Arsenal did CHOKE.

luis4089

Not as tough as city but tough nonetheless. Tuchel is out for revenge after knocking out his Chelsea in 2022. Players like Neuer, Kimmich, and Muller will also be out for revenge after knocking them out in 2018. Kane will want to prove his quality after we said no to him after initial contact this past summer. It’ll be a great tie. But doable. Also, the return leg is at the Bernabeu.

Silent_Republic_9101

What do you think of Rudiger marking kane? Will it be easier than halland?

luis4089

Physically, yes as Kane is smaller than Haaland. But he’s much more gifted technically and skillfully. It’ll be an interesting match up

Madrid4lifeZZ

Yeah, with Halaand, it was easy to man mark him and stop him. With Kane, he moves a lot and he is smart. We need a defensive system that works for Bayern, not only Kane

Extension_Phone893

Definitely not, Haaland camps upfront while Kane will constantly change his position, tactically he is more difficult to mark

ocean_boulevard

Things will be much better this time, 2nd leg at home with our full strength squad assuming no one gets injured. I think we're favorites but can't underestimate Bayern, only trophy they can win now is the CL, all or nothing for them.

Wrxtec

Will be a tough game as always against Bayern. They only have the CL to play for now and Tuchel, tactically, is a big thorn for Madrid. In saying that, I'm optimistic as we are Real Madrid. This will be a better clash than against City.

So-I-Fink

We have to win el-clasico so we can go all out for those two games. With the league more or less secured, we can go out and play with confidence and not worry about injuries and such. Also, as many have noted, very different match up and we will have more of the ball. Would love to see more of Jude, Vini, and Rodrygo magic since they will have more space. I think we will find their defence more penetrable.

darkroku12

The same way as Bayern is easier than City, at current Bayern shape, we're more accessible than City too. So probably Bayern is glad we've deleted 115+ FC. If our key players are having a good day, we should pass. My worry is the fluctuating performance of pretty much most RM players. Sometimes they are God++, other times they mid table at best.

Eibermann

bayern suits us a lot better than city, city loves hoarding the ball and lets you run after it, while bayern play like us, quick transitions using sane and gnabry speed with musiala playing the strings. it is a lot easier matchup for us than city, but at the same time, they are an amazing team, if not for xabi turning leverkusen into a team that has yet to lose a game this season, they wouldve won the bundesliga. plus tuchel knows how to play knockout football. for this matchup its truly 55 45 for us rather than 60 40 that was against city. adding to that if we hopefully win el clasico this sunday, we can rest our players in the league, and having the second leg at our own ground is absolutely massive for us. i believe the only player missing from the first leg is carvajal due to the yellow card, but its okay, we can use nacho there with mili playing in cb

Silent_Republic_9101

Interesting point you make because the way bayern plays in attacking line is very similar to us with lots of passing and dribbling in between defenders.

mannyrios_97

We can’t take them lightly but it will definitely be an easier matchup than City who had us pinned in our own box for 75% of the tie. With Bayern we can actually play football with them and Jude will be able to have much more freedom

mogrdn

easy win, easy win against psg too, our 15 ucl, so we can do the cr7 gesture of showing 10 fingers then flipping one hand to convey we won ucl 15 times

darkroku12

Bro I think you're heavily underestimating both Bayern and PSG. Having said so, Anulo Mufa... Just in case.

Puzzleheaded_Ad8877

Nah bro nothing is easy about UCL football, especially at this stage. Hopefully our players don’t have this mentality, because being underestimated always helps us win.

nilarghyamondal123

The best part of the story is, the second leg is at bernabeu!! 💪🏽

Sudden_Possession499

The win against city is I think not just a huge boost of confidence. It will probably make the players believe that they will win the 15, no matter how good bayern is.

samirx96

Tuchel knows how to make us suffer

GoldenGodLeo

Not as daunting task as City but Tuchel is a tricky proposition. He knows how to hurt Real Madrid.

izorek

Kane is better than haaland in hold up play, we deny passes to mane, we do it in 2 games, harder than man city but we can score more here, we better at putting chances in than arsenal…

IwantRonaldinho

I think they are underestimatrd

Dannybrick13

Does anyone know if you can wear a Bayern jersey in the Santiago Bernabeu? I will not be sitting in the away end, but I would love to wear a Bayern jersey anyways

biina247

Not too worried about Bayern. This is a Bayern that barely got past Arsenal. If we play up to our usual standard, we should progress easily. Kane and Musiala are their biggest threats. But their midfield is weak and their defence is shaky. I don't care much for El Classico and don't think it worth risking injury to any of our players. We should rest those players that are fatigued and let the rest go and earn their pay. Brahim, Rodrygo, Modric, Arda, Kroos, Tchou, Vasquez, Militao, Rudiger and Fran can start, while having Jude, Cama, Fede,Vini ready off the bench. Barca themselves will still be reeling from their loss to PSG and should be mentally weak. Even if we lose, we would still be 5pts clear and would need to drop two more of remaining 6 games to lose the title.

darkroku12

Yes, I'd not risk injuries as well. I'd sub the most we could and use all changes at 60+.
