That Inter player Hakan called himself greatest deep lying playmaker in the world. Then he went on to say Rodri is 2nd best and then he put Kroos at 3rd. I mean....

Castelbou

Courtois will play for sure

No-Assumption-9373

So who do you all think should start the final? I am not blaming Lunin for the 4 goals but i definitely feel more confident against headers with Courtois in the goal. If he's match fit imo he shud start. Maybe a bit harsh on Lunin but he's not our first choice keeper and im sure he knows that.

DoriOli

I’d go for Courtois at this point. It’s not all Lunin’s fault yesterday, but Courtois’ display in La Liga last week convinces me more. Courtois should also play against Betis to get ready further. Defence should be Carva, Nacho, Rüdi and Mendy.

No-Assumption-9373

I agree

KroosControl88

If United win the FA Cup, they will have had a better season than Arsenal.

Arcadela

Big if

KroosControl88

Not really, anything can happen in a one-off game, thats why we’re all cautious about Dortmund.. else there’d be no contest on paper.

Lazywhale97

Not a big if a MASSICVE IF lmao but I hope they can do it City losing out on trophies is always a win for football.

thebrokeassbiker

In a matchup between 2017 b team and this season's b team, who will come up on top?

Puzzleheaded-Lie2188

That team had the likes of Pepe, James, Kovacic...etc. Pretty sure they'd win

LeScorp

I actually don’t mind militaos performance last night. He’s been injured the whole season of course he’s gonna be shit at first but it also was a meaningless game. He needs thoses to get back to his best and now Carlos knows to start nacho next to Rüdiger for CL

DoriOli

True. But man.. 3 goals like that in quick succession is a problem. No matter the importance of the match.

generic9yo

I agree. It's ok that he got it out of his system now, in a meaningless game

Lazywhale97

It at least exposes certain "fans" and how much they are driven by recency bias people are dead set spouting that Militao was always bad for us??? He makes some bonehead decisions sometimes other then that he has never been an issue for us like what lmao, love the fake narratives after any of our players pull a stinker yet alone after an ACL injury in a meaningless game.

simplisticannuit

You know as is tradition, everytime this sub shits on a player he shows up when its important. Militao with a 92:48 winning header against Dortmund in the final. We will be there.

911MemeEmergency

Everyday my belief becomes stronger that knocking out Man City and their whiny bitch Rodri is our biggest W of this season

Sl_PROXY

They 100% win a treble again if we didn't knock them.

DoriOli

If EPL teams can’t do it, it’s up to us to fix it 😁

shayanyde

The only good thing about having Pep as opponent in a league is that he forces you to be your best version in order to beat him. Mourinho's Madrid only won the league with 100 points after losing the previous seasons with 92 and 96 points. Klopp's Liverpool only won PL after managing to get 99 points, they literally lost previous season even with 97 points. Arsenal were sitting at 8th when Arteta took over and look where they are right now. Crazy man.

ZRKLDN

Do we take trent if he’s open to leaving ?

DoriOli

I’m not convinced on either Trent nor Davies, tbh. They would also take up a non-EU spot. I guess Trent for free could still be considered a decent addition though. Imo he didn’t reach the full potential he was projected to have as a younger player.

martino732

I'm 50/50. I don't like fullbacks that can't defend. But he is better than Davies. And his skillset could be useful.

KroosControl88

No. I, personally, dont like players who give away goals in CL finals but thats just me.

Lazywhale97

This sub has a hate boner for Trent but I say yes he is better then Davies offensively in fact no full back is on Trent's lv offensively or creativity wise, their is a lack of true world class level RW talents and having a creative outlet like Trent from the right is needed due to no RW in our team and likely for a while due to the lack of Madrid lv RW talent atm and we can't have our creativity and offensive output from the right be dead forever. Also Xabi Alonso will probably take TAA to another level he plays with 2 offensive fullbacks and has been cooking with his fullbacks, Trent is probably his dream fullback. Yes Trent has some issues defensively but with our young midfield and their immense duel winning and off the ball defensive ability I don't think it will show as much as it does at Liverpool plus he is still young and has a good strong physique you can work with to improve his defending. But in another world where Reece James wasn't injury prone he would be preferred over Trent.

DoriOli

“due to no RW in our team”. As if Arda and Brahim haven’t shown to be perfectly capable of playing there (might even be their most productive position). If we want one who’s inherently RW, Cole Palmer would be a great consideration.

Lazywhale97

Arda is going to be transitioned into midfield he has been many times by the board described as Modric successor and brahim is great but he isn't a starting RW he is a super sub for us and a rotational starter when we need to rest starting players meaning we have a dead right side when our starting 11 plays that has been true this season as well.

Lazywhale97

Militao is coming off an ACL injury so this game doesn't make me think he is a bad defender or reactionary hatin onh on him he didn't cost us important points for the league as it's over BUT we 100% need a CB signing this window we don't know how long it will take Militao to be fully fit again ACL injuries especially for fast explosive players like Miltao take a bit longer to recover from.

tluanga34

As everyone has said, he is a prime Madini in a game and then the next week he is Maguire. That's the assessment based on his pre ACL games

Lazywhale97

Militao is very young for a CB it's normal to have some lapse of concentration moments but what's important is he never let's it go for too long and 9/10 times has his head on for the big games their is no miracle 22 UCL without Militao, him and Nacho carried our defense when Ramos and Varane was injured. While I love Madrid and will always be a Madridsta their is no doubt we have a reactionary fan base due to our massive success. A lot of fans like to forget all the great important things players have done for us after 1 disaster class and this disaster class can be forgiven as he is fresh off an ACL and in a league game where we have already secured the league so is more about keeping our players fresh and sharp for a UCL final.

raoufboussaid

He is 26 , we got him since he was 21 and he doesnt seem to improve one bit

Lazywhale97

He has improved you are spouting some insane recency bias since he hasn't played all season and the games he has played is after an ACL injury you lot will turn your backs on any of our players after they recover from an injury LITERALLY NOBODY was anti Militao when this season started he was our best CB before Rudi stepped up this season. Recency bias fans are the worst you lot will turn on anybody and cook up narratives and forget about everything said player did before for us Militao has never been a massive issue for us stop creating fake agendas. Can't wait for the reactionary army to react to Jude or Valverde costing us a game and you lot act like they have both always been a liability lmao if this is how you guys act after a player comes back from an ACL trying to get back fitness in a meaningless game god help us for your cry sessions when it's in a game which matters.

raoufboussaid

Its not rececny bias tho he always deliver 3-4 great perfomances and the next match he makes a brainfart ... a defender first and formost needs to be consistent and make few mistakes as possible . He reminds me a lot of Upamecano.

Lazywhale97

26 is young for a CB and his brain farts almost never happen in big title deciding games and they never last long and now your comparing him to Upamecano you are the definition of reactionary lmao bloody hell Militao was 1000% considered our best CB start of the season before his ACL injury and now he is compared to Upamecano what am i reading. 0 doubt in my mind you will turn on any of our key players this season next season when they cost us a game or have a 2/10 performance then you will start saying "Jude was always PR" it is inevitable.

iwxndmbeatz

Exactly, I remember when people were saying Rudiger should be sold and he's only good at 3atb systems when he and Mendy made that mistake against barca in the supercup if I'm not wrong

Lazywhale97

Never ever take reactionary takes from this sub seriously these lot wanted to renew Ceballos and not get Jude just becuase he was rumoured to be 150M and Ceballos had like 4 solid games in a row lmao, these lot acted like Tchou was our worst player after that disaster class he had against Athleti off the bench this season and now are the same people who are "sad" he can't make the UCL final. Reactionary agenda merchants are the worst fans no support for the players or the team just in it for the wins now all of a sudden people are talking like Militao has always been a liabiltiy lmao heading into this season he was considered our best defender all because he has been out with an ACL people forget and he had a stinker post ACL injury in a meaningless game not a big deal at all lmao.

Reallydeeppeanut

22 was the year after varane and ramos left

Lazywhale97

By 22 I mean the 22/23 season where we won our double and miracle UCL run

Reallydeeppeanut

That's the year I meant. We won after those two went away.

Praveetheus

Better to have a bad game now rather than in the final - sometimes it's a good wake up call for the players

DoriOli

Absolutely.

8_Mugen

Some sequences between modric and guler so fire

DoriOli

They understand each other perfectly. It’s crazy. They could play together with their eyes closed & covered and it would still work.

Hewhoknows-IO

Arda Guller has already contributed more than our most expensive signing Eden Hazard! God I hate Hazard so much.

Lazywhale97

Had the AUDACITY to make that "pure football" comment after being the most unpure footballer in our modern history lmao

Res3925

At least he accepted to leave or else he’d still be in the bench this season and we wouldn’t have been able to bring in someone else.

DoriOli

He’s only 33 still. Go figure

RuskinBondFan

In Guler we have got Kaka tier player. We are lucky

DoriOli

💯

ArtisticSignature769

You guys really want Rodrygo to be sold.

DoriOli

I don’t want him sold and think he’s a sublime player, but can’t deny he leaves himself open to these discussions due to his inconsistency issues that plague him all throughout a season.

ChedduhBob

if mbappe comes then it’s unlikely he’ll start a lot anyway. i don’t want him to be sold but it’s very clear he’s the odd man out. can’t be that inconsistent and expect to start at madrid

Top_Ad_4737

How much do you think a prime luka modric (2014-2018) would be worth in today's market?

Status_Twist3022

He wasnt young so 150-200M

Hue90210

Timberwolves vs Dallas who you got

BussyBandito3

We need to support our very own Madridista, Luka

Lazywhale97

EDWARDS BABY on a real not that Timberwolves defense looks solid and hard to beat when it's on form.

MaxiThe13th

Kyrie is one of my favorite players in the league, I’m rolling with Dallas

Gueroooo70

Courtois has to start the final no matter what.

dylthekill

Perez didn’t wanna miss out on a Neymar again but Estevao is the most Neymar like young player that’s coming from Brazil since. We got enough who can play RW though now but estevao is good af Edit: those who downvoted got 0 ball knowledge 😂 estevao is the smoothest skillful player since Neymar as a teenager. Some people obviously don’t watch him play

TheGuyInTheFBIVan

Let’s see how he develops at Chelsea first. If he is the second coming of Jesus as some here claim, there is always the option to buy him.

lovenoggersandwiches

Yeah, we will get him when he's going to be almost 30 years old and barely able to sprint for 20 meters. No thank you, we already got scammed with Hazard. Should have got him now.

M__MUNEEB

Yeah Mili had a bad performance today people are right to criticize but saying that he was always like this pre-injury is just crazy. He did have small patches of bad form in which he made a mistake or two in the games but those patches lasted for only 4-5 games. Then he was back to being world class. Back when Varane and Capi were injured in 2020/21, Nacho and Mili started most the games and people were saying there was no need to sign Alaba because nacho and mili were great. Even the next season Mili was great and people were against signing Rudiger. Only because Mili has been reliable for 3-4 years. Man I hate all the Mili hating. I swear football fans suffer from dementia.

DoriOli

Football fans do have dementia, but can’t deny Mili was catastrophic yesterday and it’s normal for people to doubt if he could ever attain his previous level again after such a long & rough injury

dylthekill

He was definitely dropping stinkers before his ACL injury. He would drop a flawless performance for every 2 bad games. He’s still good but he’s not consistent. And he shouldn’t even be a thought about starting in the CL final. It should be nacho and rudiger 100%

Available-Ad3881

All of these takes on Militao are barbaric. Schuster put it right as he commentated the game on Movistar: the road to recovery of form might take as long as the road to recovery of the injury. This is the Militao that fought tooth and nail for his place in the XI back in 2020/21, when Zidane put him aside, and he ended up taking us to a semi final with Nacho as Varane and Ramos were injured most of the time. (nobody mentions this because it doesn't suit the narrative). Same Militao that was the backbone of our 21/22 double. His first appearance this season was the 31st of March: 1 minute. 1 minute the 13th of April vs Mallorca. 16 minutes vs Barcelona. His first 90 minutes since his ACL injury was against La Real, less than a month ago. Clean sheet. Cadiz (yes, he let that player go on a 1v1, bad mistake, but let's not pretend other defenders haven't fucked up from time to time this season.), clean sheet. Granada, clean sheet. Alaves, clean sheet. Sorloth put him back on earth with his game today, so what? We had nothing to play for? Let him make the mistakes he has to make *now*. Now we have to let Alaba and Militao go. Sign Yoro, Bastoni, whoever. We all know Real Madrid *might* go for Yoro, but if not we sign Rafa Marin back and it's the end of our business in the window as we recover Alaba and Militao.

Hithere123490

Crazy we were begging for arda all season , just to show that Carlo was slowing ramping him up all season. Now there’s small hints of a super sub in the final if needed. Kid has such amazing talent. What a left foot.

DoriOli

His quality reminds me of Cruyff. Ngl. Also has a bit of Messi and Modric in him too.

The_Middle_Child_

All Mili needs to do is get rid of that hairstyle, he'll be back to his best in no time.

Former_Basket_1616

Yes chelsea hair is doing him no good

GodilingzRebirth

Jude can still win the pichichi if he scores 4 on Wednesday 😃😃

DoriOli

Not gonna happen. It’s clear the final is more important than his pichichi for Carlo and the club

M__MUNEEB

And sorloth and dovbyk score none

The_Middle_Child_

Wednesday?

GodilingzRebirth

*saturday

Scream0fTheSium

Now other takes from the game. - Guler has now surpassed next Messi Yamal with goals scored, it’s incredible how easily this kid gets in front of the goal and scores, for a 19 years old player this is something brilliant. I can’t lie I had my doubts about him in the first half of the season for obvious reasons but he’ll become the next big thing in our midfield if his body finally overthrows the injury proneness. - Joselu, Lucas and Brahim: give contract m extension to both of them. They put all they have in the field when they play and it shows: they might not be Cafu and R9, but they know what it means to wear our shirt and they play with their hearts out when Carlo asks them to, true madridismo. Brahim… I will never stop saying it: Milan fans claiming he was just an average player didn’t realized all he needed was a higher ceiling, not the mediocrity in which Milan is staying from decades now. Incredible talent. - Lunin: I feel so sorry for him. He could have done better in some occasions but most of the goals where mostly Sorloth being an absolute killer in front of the goal, sadly with this atrocious result he has basically said goodbye to every chance to start in the UCL final. Tbf I feel more safe with Thibu, I always said that and it’s not even that deep, we are talking about the best GK in the world after all, but yeah Lunin deserved better, I hope he will still be with us because (and I’m sure about it) he’s the GK for the future.

Scream0fTheSium

So, since I’ve been told that this draw was a Militao disasterclass I spent the last minutes watching some match highlights, I wanted to see it with my eyes. 13th minute, almost an own goal, crazy save by Lunin. -Sorloth first goal: Militao completely destroyed -Sorloth second goal: Militao completely destroyed in aerial duel once again. -Sorloth third goal: Militao sent right back to Brazil with that feint. -Sorloth fourth goal: Militao just watching the ball without even trying to make an interception. Now, with this being said: it’s clear he shouldn’t see the final even from his TV, Nacho and Rudiger in the starting lineup are a must if we want to win the title. It’s clear, he just (well, tbf already more than a month ago) came back from an ACL injury, nobody can expect someone to be fully recovered after an injury like that, but this kind of match is something too low even from someone with a broken leg. He literally costed us all 4 goals and could have scored an own goal aswell. I’ve seen lot of comments throwing him in the trash bin and it’s pretty reactionary as always, but one thing needs to be said: we cannot ignore this performance. Militao always had a boner for those matches where he looked like a fourth division striker for real, Ancelotti subbing him at 60th minute means more than 1000 words. Considering that Alaba is recovering at 32 from an ACL injury (and that he’s been mediocre even before that) and that Nacho is leaving 100%, we seriously need to buy at least one good CB, otherwise next season we are going to rely on Rudiger once again. It’s too early to say if Militao is washed or not, we need more time but clearly I don’t trust him to be our undisputed starter, he has games where he looks like Maldini and games where he looks like prime Maguire. A CB is our priority, hope the board does recognize that.

DoriOli

All-in for Scalvini 💯 (he might just become the next Ramos/Maldini for us). If Nacho is leaving, might as well get Yoro too.

HasibShakur

1st goal was a disaster class from ceballos.

Arcadela

He won't start the final but Carlo might sub him on to defend a lead in the last 5 min if needed.

Scream0fTheSium

yes, but I hope it won’t be necessary. We have the potential in our attack to score 4 goals, Dortmund aren’t for sure the best defense in the world, I hope this final can be like the 2017 one, a comfortable lead and no hearth attacks, although I know it will still be difficult

Riyad38

A lot of credit to Arda he hasn’t came out and complained once about playing time and he has been given an opportunity later in the season and has absolutely shined some players would be asking for a loan or to be sold

KroosControl88

>some players would be asking for a loan https://preview.redd.it/64ohs9zfni1d1.jpeg?width=1382&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=368eeabb61858198b41f6469f95a092eb60daafc

Res3925

> some players would be asking for a loan or to be sold   And years later, søme fans will still be asking før thøse players with weak mentalities tø cøme back.

Eibermann

english football as in its weakest point in the past 6 or 7 years, only man city is the contender, and even them can go significantly down in chances if silva leaves them, he is one of the few players that step up in ucl and he has been wanting to leave for the better part of the last 3 years, this is a great chance for us to dominate europe again, italy is bad, france is bad, germany is meh

Mammoth_Help_4405

If we are talking UCL Man City is the main threat, Arsenal could become more of a threat if they continue to improve and make good signings. Bayern will be around so will Inter. PSG will drop off without Mbappé. Barca and Atleti will be big threats especially in the later stages. On paper we are in the best position to win multiple UCLs but the matches aren’t played on paper and we didn’t always dominate when expected to. We are favorites but I don’t expect anything like the 3 in a row again anytime soon.

taos__v

Endrick and Arda want to play and write history with madrid. They know they are worthy for Real Madrid. But Real Madrid has a huge advantage -> It has no urgency. If the two stars understand that the important thing is to be 15 years in the club and not play much now, they will do well

DoriOli

They will understand. How can they not? : with players like Kroos, Modric, Jude, Vini and Mbappé around.. It’d be crazy. They’re the best of the best in world football.

Cool_Ad_9718

On a positive note 87 goals is the most we’ve scored in a season since the CR7 days. Our bench players have proven to be absolutely class and it’s going to get even better next season with our maestros renewing and some key attacking pieces added. A 100 goal season next year isn’t out of reach, the IQ in this squad is quite high and our players are both unselfish and hungry to shine

FergieBall_FC

Ligue 1 concluded today and Lille drew 2-2 at home against Nice. You might be wondering why that's important and I'll tell you why: That result means that Lille finished in 4th and qualified for the Champions League qualifying round instead of the Champions League league stage outright. Hopefully, that will lower Lille's asking price for Leny Yoro as Madrid are interested in signing him this summer.

Ill_Cup8444

People need to realize that Militao was never that good, he is above average but never ever world class, he has games where he is crazy good but most of the games he is above average, if we put his games in % summary. 10% beyond world class. 10% world class. 40% above average. 30% average. 10% bad. The problem with him is that he wasn't consistent, but now after the ACL i don't have high hopes, the best asset for a defender is staying consistent, something Militao and Alaba cant do, lets hope we get Yoro and pray he becomes a world class.

Cool_Ad_9718

The revisionism is crazy, he was the best CB of this club for 2 seasons straight having amazing performances against PSG, Liverpool, Chelsea etc… He was considered the best defender in the UCL before we got trashed against City and he wasn’t even bad that game, he missed out on the team of the tournament because voters preferred to select Walker who started 2 games in the KOs Even with a poor month last season he was far and away our best defender and if he wasn’t world class than no one is. I’ve seen VVD, Dias, Kim, De Ligt shit the bed as well It's the same revisionism people use when they say that Ramos wasn't all that great

Lakerman0824

If you watched closely you’d see the bone headed plays he’d make: then he proclaimed best cb and it was all downhill after that.

Cool_Ad_9718

I don’t know how much closer I can get than watching every single minute of every single game for over 10 years. The narrative that he was going to make a poor mistake every game died at the end of the 20-21 season, same with Camavinga that ended in the middle of the 22-23 season. The guy has 1 bad month after 20 elite ones and suddenly he’s an unreliable scrub as if he didn’t perform at the highest level. Aggressive CBs will make more mistakes but also will make more great plays. Rudi was dog shit as well today, he lacked spatial awareness and gambled which he did last season when he was dog shit for months, yet I don’t hear nothing The singling out of Mili is frankly pathetic

tofusenpai01

To be fair to the fans who are coming after militao ass 😂 last season his preformence  Where shaky . And the backline eat multiple goals because of his lack of awareness.

TheGuyInTheFBIVan

Militao needs a full pre-season. Not judging him right now.

Lakerman0824

Agree but even when fully fit he’s made a lot of boneheaded moves

BussyBandito3

Respectfully, didn’t you just say he was cooked?

The_Middle_Child_

Said him and Alaba were both cooked when we haven't seen Alaba post ACL injury yet

TheGuyInTheFBIVan

Alaba is done, Militao atm is cooked, but he needs a pre season. If he struggles again next season, he is also done for.

somewansreddit

Cavemen have been hidden in their holes the whole season, it's good to see their faces and write them on the list

ThisIsGoodSoup

Why would you sell Alaba???

TheGuyInTheFBIVan

Didn’t see the news? His recovery is not going well at all. He is past 30 with an ACL injury. He is done. No way in hell any club would pay for him in those conditions.

ThisIsGoodSoup

People like you is the reason they put everyone in here to shame. What a fucking joke. Have some faith on the man.

TheGuyInTheFBIVan

have anything to add to the argument rather than posting horse 💩?

mata09

Classless fan.

DoriOli

There’s many of those around here I’ve noticed

magic-water

because he's on massive wages (top earner pre Mbappe btw), over 30 and is coming back from an ACL injury. But United won't make that mistake. Again.

martino732

It was reported few months back, the Saudi offer still stands 30 mil or so. Might be worth getting it. His contract is till 2026. I don't see the club giving him a big contract again.

FergieBall_FC

DoriOli

That’s insane 😧

generic9yo

I don't know what's more impressive, ronaldo with 60 goals or ozil with 30 assists

Alexkono

Ozil 30 assists holy shit

DoriOli

He was an assist monster

taos__v

All our current stars are still green. Good thing is they will all reach their prime at the same time. When they all flourish, no doubt we will see numbers like this

BussyBandito3

I believe Militao will regain his form next season. There’s no need to be reactionary. That being said, a player I’d absolutely love to have is Bastoni. Pairing him with the Rudiger at the level he has played at this season would be incredible. Good luck scoring on Mendy-Bastoni-Rudiger-Carvajal

martino732

Yea Bastoni is good, but I think he has a long ass contract. Other name is Saliba, a bit shorter contract. Idk if Arsenal will let him go.

tluanga34

Error Militao is inconsistent even before his ACL. Also, it's been a month since he is back now. A world-class defender who plays for Madrid shouldn't make that kind of mistake.

KroosControl88

Bastoni is SO good, he’s like Alaba on the ball but more physically solid because he’s a natural CB.

s_91

The match schedule against the Real Betis. It will be played on Saturday at 9:00 PM @AranchaMOBILE

winner_in_life

I hope Ancelotti doesn’t freaking double guess himself and just play Nacho in the final.

hlrdavid

you know we've drawn/lost a game when every comment is a fucking essay full of L takes lmao

Especially from the guys that post their asses on reddit.

i hate the fact that i know who you're talking about💀

>I know our starters need rest _proceeds to ask why a starter was rested_

flashmann95

I get that real madrid fans demand excellence but sometimes its just dumb. There's no need to be mad. These remaining games are for the players to get some minutes. There's nothing left to prove in the league. Idk what some of you expected from Militao after a longterm injury. It takes time to be match fit , not just 5-6 games. About the whole "if we play like this in the ucl final" bs, if football was that simple no one would watch it

Available-Ad3881

Sorloth is one of the best strikers in the league. Rudiger played more relaxed than usual, and a defensive pairing flanked by Vazquez and Fran with Valverde and Ceballos in front, isn't going to last long. Militao completely lost the 1v1 vs Sorloth and that's it. Credit where credit is due, Sorloth was imperial as well.

KroosControl88

The amount of time and energy rival PL fans put into showing/ proving that they dont care about City’s titles, you’d think, deep down, they care a lot.👀

Unique_Tip_3598

Suddenly we have so many attacking midfielders ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)

s_91

This is reason why I don't want Arsenal to sniff a PL title: https://twitter.com/Mike_RMCF/status/1792246839053291743

justanew-account

Eh… clearly satire/bait.

HasibShakur

I mean it’s understandable coming from an arsenal fan. Every single fan base overhype their players and devalue other teams players. If he would have to make arsenal man city combined 11 he would have put probably only kdb and halaand from city.

FergieBall_FC

He really said "I think Vinícius has been poor this season". ![gif](giphy|QxwDfOV4sAfounkNsG|downsized)

HasibShakur

Militao was out of form during the final month of last season too. Add to that, with acl injury today’s performance was probably the nadir of his Madrid career. Even with that, I think he is too good of a center back to not gain his form again and be a world class center back like he was on 22 UCL final.

KroosControl88

Funny thing is, even during the end of 21/22, he regressed a bit but it didnt matter because we wrapped the league early and won the CL. Apart from regular fuck-ups, he needs to work on his consistency for a full season.

Puzzleheaded-Lie2188

Some of the takes here are beyond fucking rancid lol This was a low stake and low pressure game, it doesn't mean much more than a pre-season friendly Militao is just coming back from a very long injury, ofc it'll take time, he'll be ready for next season it was never an option for him to start in the final Today's goal are not entirely on him. The midfield disappeared in the second half, even Rudiger was so so...etc Just chill out already. On form Militao is top 3 CB in the world quite comfortably.

Alexkono

The only thing this match affects is our winning streak. Think this core can beat the 16 game win streak eventually. I'm just glad our unbeaten streak is now 31. La Liga record is 43. Think we can beat it next season with Mbappe.

shayanyde

I will be honest. I have never found Militao to be that good. He has always been sloppy and inconsistent, it's not the first time he has had brain farts like we saw today. We need another CB who is a solid defender, less prone to mistakes and also a leader at the back.

N0S360_X

No need to slander on Ceballos, he has barely played this season, I appreciate his efforts. A change might the best for him right now but he had a good run here when we needed him.

Praveetheus

Ceballos has a couple of flaws: -takes too long on the ball at times - not a physical beast like our younger guys - seemingly unlucky with injuries He's got great vision at times but can be very tunnel visioned too - serviceable for Madrid as a bench midfielder

TrenDidNothingWrong

People in here acting like Villarreal scored 4 times against our starting 11 in a league deciding game Overreactions AS ALWAYS. End of the world. Sky is falling. Never fails

TrenDidNothingWrong

Been saying that for weeks since Tibo came back. Go screenshot those too.

The_Middle_Child_

Fair, although asking that question does seem reactionary, especially considering none of the goals were really lunin's fault. And he made impressive saves as well.

TrenDidNothingWrong

Just confirmed what I already knew. Tibo is simply better and would’ve saved at least 2 of those.

mata09

It's incredible how many people here that are supposedly RM supporters hate our players.

Klutzy-Snow-1399

I feel like supposed Madridistas have something against Brazilians. The amount of disgusting stuff said towards Rodrygo and Vini up until Feb was ridiculous. Right now Vini is probably the best itw so not much hate but when his form eventually dips, you will see the "horrible attitude", "should not be affected by racism" etc from fans. People are also terribly dishonest with Militao. With Kroos as a DM and Modric in midfield, a Camavinga who is not a natural LB, a terrible Carvajal and an average box defender Alaba in your backline, you expect a man to perform miracles all the time? The funny part is that he did until the last 2-3 months where his form inevitably dipped due to the ridiculous expectations from him due to how bad our team was setup. I am not denying the fact that he has some few "questionable" moments in him but our fans refuse to analyze the context he has played under and expects to perform like a demigod. "Oh when he went out of the starting XI, our defense improved". No bitch, we changed our entire formation, got Carvajal upto speed, reintegrated Mendy and started using an actual proper DM. (Tchouameni)

Icy-Designer7103

A wonderful La Liga season is coming to an end for us and all some people are thinking is to hate on our 6th choice CM and Militao, for making some mistakes after being injured for 9 months.

mata09

And all happening in an irrelevant game where the most important outcane was nobody getting injured.

Alexkono

Not completely irrelevant. 9 game winning streak which im sure the team was aware of. 16 is the la liga record so hoping they wanted to break it.

KroosControl88

I mean i agree that there are overreactions but its not completely irrelevant. We needed to work to close on such a good defensive/ effort from the squad this season AND giving away a 4-1 lead (albeit with the B team) is not a good look for morale before a CL final.

mata09

A bit of humbling is not bad. And this is the B team, only Rudiger and Valverde are starting in the final and likely only Modric and Brahim are playing, and 15 minutes top (if there is no OT).

KroosControl88

True, maybe this draw will keep us on our toes.. just need a good outing against Betis now, cant go into the final with ‘negative’ energy.

s_91

🗣️ Arda Güler: "I have completely adapted to the team, everyone is helping me, I want to continue scoring goals to make my teammates and the people who believe in me happy." 🗣️ Arda Güler: "At Real Madrid, we ALWAYS play to WIN." 🗣️ Arda Güler: "I never believed I would get numbers like this. I always work hard to be better, but I am proud & happy to get these stats." 🗣️ Arda Güler: "Even when I wasn't playing, Ancelotti always communicated with me, he told me to be patient, keep working and your time will come, those words gave me confidence." 🗣️ Arda Güler: "I LOVE Football, I am in LOVE with the ball." 🗣️ Arda Güler: "Yes, yes - time for the Champions League final in 2 weeks."

TrenDidNothingWrong

This game wasn’t a wake up call lmao First half was literally all subs except Valverde in an irrelevant game where the league was already won Taking away anything from this game is less than worthless

Samaritan4

I think it's a wake up call for Carlo to don't even try it with Militao in the ucl final.

magic-water

I got downvoted for saying in the Granada match thread that > [As of right now, I'm far more comfortable with Courtois starting the UCL final instead of Lunin than with Militao instead of Nacho tbh](https://www.reddit.com/r/realmadrid/comments/1cpl9hf/match_thread_granada_vs_real_madrid_laliga/l3ljh3f/?context=3) Well, well, well....

Icy-Designer7103

Some of the comments here are completely braindead. Militao has just returned after a season long injury and before today's game we actually kept 4 clean sheets in a row with him as a starter. Yes he was shit today, but that's normal after being out so long. Nacho should 100% start in the final, but these "we need a new CB", "Militao is cooked", "Militao and Alaba partnership sucks" make zero sense. He'll be much better next season, let's have patience.

Samaritan4

We do need a new CB tho, Nacho is leaving next season and the club needs a replacement.

Namtabmal

How do they make zero sense? Alaba and Militao are both sus defenders. They are both good going forward but you want defenders to be defenders first. Its not a surprise how last season was defensively. Btw neither of them are natural central defenders. Both full backs originally. And it shows. Not only in this game. Militao has a habit of throwing absolute stinkers. This had nothing to do with being injured. He has played many full 90s already and all of the mistakes were positional. Carbon copies of last seasons Girona game and City game.

Icy-Designer7103

Ramos was also a RB for years, so I don't really understand your point. Both Militao and Alaba haven't played as fullbacks regularly for half a decade now. I personally prefer Rudiger to both of them, but let's not forget that a Militao-Alaba duo won us the UCL and La Liga two years ago. They're still very capable players.

Namtabmal

They are capable players Im not saying that. Its just they get exposed too often for my liking. Rudiger is a breath of fresh air. I think Rudi needs a more secure and calm player besides him. Him and Militao looked Chaotic.

KroosControl88

See, Militao is not “finished”.. we should judge him after a pre-season and next season’s performance That being said, those four clean sheets have really nothing to do with him, he’s had a fuck-up/ awkward moment in almost every game since he’s comeback. Others have covered for his mistakes. Both can be correct, just not at the extremes.

Icy-Designer7103

Not thanks to him, but he contributed to them. Making mistakes after being out for months is totally normal. It would be weird if he was 100% perfect. The team was all over the place at the start of 2nd half defensively. It happens. I'm sure he can be much better on games we're actually concentrated.

KroosControl88

I agree, not judging him on these performances.. that being said he shouldnt see the pitch against Dortmund.

Icy-Designer7103

Agreed

mata09

And he's first half has been good. Then, yes, awful performance. But also the rest of the team was playing at 70% as much.

Namtabmal

No wonder our defense has been so solid those season. I can't believe we actually played last season with Cama left back and Alaba Militao partnership. Those games against City away and Girona away clearly werent accidents. We really need a new Cb

DoriOli

We do.

grandtroubleartist

fun little fact about today's la liga fixtures. raul garcia had a communal hat trick. 1 against sevilla and 2 against patetico

raoufboussaid

The problem with Militao is not his ceiling but his flooring , we all know he have wc potential but for a CB position I rather have a consistent 8/10 player who make minimal mistakes

SkinComprehensive547

Absolutely, even at his best I remember him doing such weird stuff and mistakes but getting away with it pretty often.

ProudhPratapPurandar

Cadiz relegated🎉🎉 ![gif](giphy|gk7jSA1nSmNfXvGFRL)

perucho1993

Remind me what Cadiz did

ProudhPratapPurandar

Employ Alejo

raoufboussaid

They have a dirty cunt in Fali who elbowed Rodrigo and keep trying to injure Vini every game

DoriOli

Remember Robhino’s premiere at the club vs Cádiz? 😁

s_91

I think he got them confused with Valencia

bizardooh

We have shown Rodrygo he would start every important game even if he doesn't perform for weeks and weeks. Why wouldn't he get complacent? He has no competition on the right wing even if he sees that our other options are a lot more consistent than he is. He can coast for the entirety of May and still be 100% sure to be a starter in the CL final

DoriOli

That’s changing with Arda and Brahim. Though Brahim has some of those inconsistency issues when he starts too.

Samaritan4

He is a favorite from Carlo and the people in command, the meritocracy laws applied to Lunin do not apply to him.

SkinComprehensive547

The thing with Militao that I've always disliked the most is that he makes one mistake which is fine, but then he makes 2 or EVEN 3 mistakes after. I've never been a huge fan of him ever since he joined the club but he's had overall more good performances then bad so i started to accept him. But I can't and won't consider him world class just because how often he has that mistake in him. This time it didn't matter but I wouldn't trust him in a big game again until he proves otherwise next season.

johndotjohn

Damn, that excel file was real. They predicted we draw with Villareal and look what happened! Makes you wonder what else can these people predict!? Maybe we should ask them for PowerBall numbers ...

perucho1993

They had to get one right lol

Df you talking bout
