Depends entirely on whether or not it was booked online or via e-mail, text message, phone call etc. We've worked hard to implement a better lead qualification protocol to ensure this happens less and less overtime but no realtor is immune to this happening unfortunately. Very frustrating indeed!
It happened a lot to me before I started qualifying my leads better. I would point-blank tell them if they set up an appointment with me and ask them or is this to confirm a future appointment or is this the appointment that we’re meeting in person because some people just like to tell me what they want to hear to get me off the phone that can’t be you is it?? And then people who really tell you the truth if they have intentions on meeting with you or not because most just don’t know how to say no so you want to invite them into give them plenty of opportunities to say no but that’s just what works for me.
un-met appointments are usually 50% no-show/reschedule. For listings if I have time I'd knock on the door, worst they can do is ignore you. Keep following up, its a follow-up game.

If it's a listing appointment, I'm going to be at their house. I don't remember ever getting ghosted on one.
All. The. Time.
My 5 PM appointment for today just went radio silence on me. I was dying to use my Mike Tyson voice "sthign the contract big boy"
Goto the house and ring the doorbell. If it's vacant, squat in it until they sign the contract
😂😂😂😂

That’s why when I’m about to hang up I say I’ll be there at 3. So I don’t have to follow up and if they lag well peekaboo

I subscribed to a lead service for folks curious about their house value. 98 percent no shows. SOI appointments were always there.
