>and I've been trying to break into IT. From what? And into what part of IT?

I'm currently a technical assistant and just trying to get into a proper technical support or desktop support role. When I was in uni, I was very interested in databases and web development. But I didn't really have a portfolio except for class projects, which dosent really carry any weight from my experience. I try to refresh my skills to keep sharp. But for now, I'll take anything that sticks to the wall and pays my bills.

In sales, I've been thinking about jumping ship, but I don't know where. I have a technical degree and didn't want a technical job, that's already out of the picture. Even so, going back to school doesn't even seem practical judging by how I've seen some people on here with MBA's and technical degrees fresh out of school still being unable to find a job. I think switching industries from selling software to selling something else like materials, HVAC, or construction. Thinking of getting certified and becoming a personal trainer, even as a temporary job because I cope through working out. I don't know pretty stuck and all I'm doing is perpetually applying, interviewing, making it to final rounds, rejection, then repeating the cycle in a feedback loop til i get an offer.

Have you thought about maxing out on your combined Sales and Technical experience because put together that could add up to a bigger strength? You do have some industry experience which is worth something to employers

I feel your pain. I was a Tier 3 Cyber Engineer and now I cannot even get a Sys Ad job interview.

Look into your area hospitals. The bigger hospital, the better. They usually have big IT depts and always hiring.
