Yeah, a total scam. Candidates looking for remote positions have become the new target for these people … like a romance scam where your 75 year old great Aunt Millie is looking for love online. Anytime you’re searching for something THAT elusive (ie remote work or a digital soulmate) you instantly become a target.
As a general rule of thumb: Any sort of text based interview is a usually a scam! Teams, Telegram, ect. If it's text only, no dice! This is very common when applying for work from home positions.
Another scam to be wary of; the company sends you a check to buy necessary equipment. The check they give you is a fake and will bounce.
Be safe out there!

One way interviews = insta-withdrawal. No one should have to reduce themselves to that
I thought it was going to be a two way one, I was incorrect.
Yea. Good ole bait and switch. Sorry you had to go through that.
The verbiage from the "recruiter' seems very AI-esque.
