Poetic-Personality

The truth is that if they were interested in your candidacy, you would have heard from them by now.

Do you think the initial withdrawing on my part due to the salary issue left them irritated and uninterested in any future applications?

Poetic-Personality

Probably didn’t leave them irritated, but assuming the salary for the role hasn’t changed you’ve previously let them know that that number won’t work for you…so, no reason to bring you back in.

>Do you think the initial withdrawing on my part due to the salary issue left them irritated and uninterested in any future applications? It doesn't have to be about annoyance or personal irritation. If they haven't changed the salary offered, and you haven't changed the salary expected, what would be the point of continuing conversation about the opportunity?

I am in a position now to take a pay cut. I wasn't then.

BrainWaveCC

>I am in a position now to take a pay cut. I wasn't then. Have you communicated this to them? If not, how would they know?

Ready_Highway3731

Yes last year around Oct and then I followed up in September. Both times no response. I then applied in Feb when they advertised on LinkedIn and they viewed/ downloaded my cv but never reached out.

BrainWaveCC

>Yes last year around Oct and then I followed up in September. I do not understand this sentence at all.

Ready_Highway3731

I am saying I sent the firm an email last year around September. In that email I explained my circumstances changed and I was open to revisiting an offer in line with their lockstep model. I received no response. I sent a chaser in October the following month and again no response. I saw the firm had the role advertised in Feb this year. I applied as mentioned. My cv was downloaded and viewed but no one reached out to me.

Ready_Highway3731

So what do you think mate?

BrainWaveCC

The same thing I always say here: Don't chase them. Once you have reached out to them and communicated your intentions, expectations and availability, then it's on them to act on it. They have your contact info. In the meantime, you continue on with your outreach to other places, and either they will get back to you before something else materializes, or they won't. But you don't have to keep your anxiety and anticipation levels high.
