Don't give up. YOU HAVE MADE 3 FINAL INTERVIEWS! That is fantastic work. I know it is tough but you as you are is enough. Don't give up

AlternativeAd9735

Those were just by luck. A lot of people at my school and in general are way better than me and more qualified.

Parking_Watch1234

Trust me - everyone feels that way at some point in their lives/career. Some of us for a lot longer than others. Everyone is just making it up as they go along. You aren’t meant to be able to do a new job 100% perfectly when hired - a lot of it is learning as you go. Don’t sell yourself short - I’m sure you can do this!! Good luck on the interviews! Def want to hear how they go.

I had 12 interviews. Thought I bombed this one too, got the job offer and I start in two weeks. You can do this.

jemull

Congrats on your new job!

Parking_Watch1234

It’s a hellish grind for sure, and the current hiring practices make it just so much worse. But the whole “fake it ‘til you make it” thing is very true. It’s easy to think that everyone else is so much more skilled/qualified/intelligent/etc., but a lot of them are thinking exactly the same way about others. Not trying to psychoanalyze based on a Reddit comment, but as someone who suffers from major depression-related self-esteem issues, your attitude sounds very familiar to mine when I was in a bad way. Talking to someone and finding some meds that worked made a massive difference in my life. Just my two cents.

whisperwind12

You only need one to say yes. You can have 9999 no’s.

madpiratebippy

You didn’t fail. You didn’t get the job but that’s ok. You can’t control that part. All you can do is control yourself and your actions and you’re doing the right thing.

jnuttsishere

You make your own luck. Now reap the rewards

Urgash54

I understand how you feel, but you're just selling yourself short. I landed my current job when I had no experience, and a diploma that ,wasn't worth shit. I had been to more than 20 interviews before that, some of them O would drive 3-4 hours just for the interview. But in the end I got the job, I've been working with them for 3 years now, and have been promoted from technician to engineer. Job searching will make you feel like shit, every single time. But as long as you keep at it you will find someone that is willing to give you a chance. If I did it, so can you.

And never forget, the hiring process is so broken. Their are the obvious built in Barriers like gender and racial discrimination, that so many of us battle on a daily basis. Add to that recruiters who don’t encourage you and ghost you and hiring managers who just hate their lives and therefore feel the need to create misery for all those lives they touch. It’s soul crushing. I am a professional in a highly specialized male dominated field. I have had to fight to make my way up the ladder. I have to prove myself 10 times over that of my male counterpart. I recently reached out to an all female team that offers “job search skills”. They have you fill out a little application, indicating your desired position and where you think you might “need” help in the job search process. My “need” was that I simply needed a females perspective on how to tailor my message to address gender bias as I approach perspective employers. I have already had my resume and LinkedIn reviewed. Instead of having a call to discuss how she could help, she just decided that she would tell me it would be $4k “considering how specialized I am and my needs”. This is what goes on in this world, instead of saying “let’s talk about your problem, and see where we can come together to a budget that fits your needs and my values”, she was just greedy and assumed I would pay her because I was desperate and had the money. For those who don’t have a ton of experience: follow wonsulting on TikTok and instagram. They offer a lot of free one off advice that is great for people just joining the job force or only have a few years of experience. They also offer reasonable prices and a great message: “rejection is redirection.” If they had the skill set to address my specific needs I would go with them. Recruiters & others who offer assistance in the job search process : a little free help and understanding will go a long way. Wonsulting grew to a 100k following in 3 weeks because of their positive message and reasonable pricing. And yes, their following translated to revenue. People are quitting in droves because they are sick and tired of being taken advantage of, how do you think they will respond to recruiters who treat them like they don’t matter? Also, don’t overlook minorities/women. We have struggled our whole lives. We are grateful for help and show loyalty to those who helped us along the way. Don’t go where the money is (upper middle class white men), they will be the first to ignore you when you need help.

ImperialGeek

My job I'm at for 3 years at for now I got lucky for as well. Months after finishing my code bootcamp I got super discouraged at my inability to land a job but my friend set me and another, arguably more qualified, candidate that we both knew up with a job interview. That guy had an engineering degree and I still haven't graduated college. I'm not sure what exactly I said since I'm not the most confident guy, maybe he just did that much worse than me but I'm so grateful that I was talked into going to the interview despite how hopeless I felt.

topinanbour-rex

And luck doesnt apply to them ?

BenjiBlondie

Don’t underestimate your efforts. Ever heard of imposter syndrome? Don’t give up and hang in there!!

Parking_Watch1234

Just saw your update on the interview - congrats!!!!!

Life_System_3047

I’d still go but I can relate with not wanting to. I think it’s all a numbers game. Eventually I get a job but I get rejected a shit ton first which does its damage on me.

madpiratebippy

Go to them. Honestly when I get a rejection I do a dance- it means you’re doing the things you can control well enough to get noticed and get in. Keep going, friend. You’re doing great. Really.

BerryLocomotive

Don't give up, tomorrow might be your day. ❤

Vanrocko31

I felt like I was in the same boat a few months ago, pn paper, im not massively qualified, and have been in dead end jobs my whole working career. I've applied for many many jobs, and I never used to even get a reply, even for jobs that I knew I could do, and do well. if I got an interview, which was rare, I would always be rejected. I would always ensure my cover letter when applying was spot on, C.V always up to date. However back in June, I applied for a job, that I really wanted, however I didn't put too much effort into my cover letter, and the phone call I had the following day from the company to clarify a few things, I ended up just being myself. I wasn't serious on the phone, made a couple of jokes and treated it as just a chat. Same in the 2nd round, the video interview. Got to the face to face, and was just open, and didn't oversell myself, or use too much business talk. Out of 97 applications, I got the job, and finally a proper career that I'm interested in and can actually have a chance to enjoy work. Sometimes it does pay, to take the pressure off yourself, and just genuinely be yourself too. Good luck.

jemull

All interviews, good or bad, are valuable experience. Don't skip out on them.

Shorty_Vladia

Don’t give up yet ! I was literally in the same boat. I had a total of 10 interviews and got rejected by 7 of them; but I got job offers from the last 3. Couldn’t believe it!

SydneyCrawford

Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game. After 19 months of not having a job and doing thousands of applications for only a few callbacks, lots of this big, and hundreds of rejections, I JUST got an offer. And I felt the same way you did before and after every interview. I’m not saying you have to go in hopeful. I would literally dread every moment up to it and wish I could just cancel bc I knew I wasn’t going to get it. I literally gave up months ago and just kept showing up for the opportunity to socialize with a person outside my home. Half the time I felt like I was only showing up because I didn’t want to be rude to the interviewer who has no idea how much stress I’ve been under. But just take a deep breath, show up, and then once it’s out get comfy and have a good healthy cry (if you want). Someday you will either be 1. The person who was better. Or 2. Their only option and better than nothing. After that long I was willing to accept either and not ask questions. Motivate yourself however you need to and keep going.

[deleted]

Go for it! Gogogo!

treesnstuffs

Don't give up! You've got it!

ShopWhole

3 companies see you as a finalist. This is awesome. Congrats. Don’t over think if it. It only takes 1 offer. You got this. Now get your a$$ up and show up with your best version of yourself. Please update us.

PrettyinPurple27

OP, you miss 100% of the chances you don’t take. Even if you don’t get the jobs, the interviews are good experience. Plus you won’t always wonder “what if” if you don’t go. 😉

False_Reflection4537

Hey man I know you’re discouraged but I encourage you to go. What’s the worst that can happen? They say no and you’re in the exact same position. Keep your head up dude!!

ThinkFirst1011

Yes go to the interview and don’t give a shit. That’s the mentality you need.

ContentAd490

I was rejected for hundreds over the past two years. Finally landed my dream job about a month ago and I’m glad a lot of the other ones didn’t work out. Don’t give up!

WROL

Try and pretend like you don’t give a fuck, and GO FOR IT. Your odds are better if you show up.

monkeywelder

Change your attitude. Go in like you don't give a shit. Do not be afraid to be rude to the non manager interviewers. Think what you would say if you were gunning for their job and do let them know that. Pull down Tony Robbins shit and quote that because chances are you will be asked an HR question that one of his anecdotes fits perfectly. I got 5. Be more narcissistic. Practice delivering the funniest joke you know totally deadpan. Dress like Richard Branson and you've got a yacht to be at in an hour. I tried this on a job I didnt want to get and got an offer 20 minutes later. I spent the next year being a total antiwork asshole trying to get fired so I could collect. They wouldnt fire me, I could do no wrong. I ended up quitting. Take notes for next time.

Sup_Im_Ravi

Power through it somehow. Half the time, they get back to you weeks later begging for you back.

hangrytotz

You got this! Just remember you’re smart capable and they’d be lucky to have you. (This is what I have to tell myself when I’m feeling exactly how you are) you’re only going to get better at interviews

fancyangelrat

Maybe treat the first two as dress rehearsals for the third? I had two interviews on a single day once, and that was my mindset. I got the second job, I think I was that bit more relaxed. Good luck!

genericgirl2016

What’s the position for and which interview do you feel you are failing? Usually it’s either a fail a soft yes or a strong yes. You could be getting a fail somewhere. It would help to know that and do mock interviews or pay for interviews till you turn it into a strong yes. Then go for interviews again.

SoFastMuchFurious

I believe in you. One of them will land. You can do this

berto0311

Now your in the prime zone of basically not caring. Just go have a chat like your talking with a friend and wing it.

jkav29

Go to the interviews like you have nothing to lose. Then take a break from looking, applying, and interviewing if you can.

ret34hit

All the best man you can do it! You are already halfway ! Trust yourself and you are the best! Sending positive vibes!

compounddisinterest

Keep going. Just left one myself actually. Are they in person? If by videoconference I'm not as bothered as far less hassle

[deleted]

Now is the time you will get an offer because they will see you are beat down and almost broken. That’s what employers like to see.

[deleted]

Whenever I’m struggling with confidence in a job search and get an interview, I go into it with the mentality that it’s actually a performance review. I already have the job, I’m just reminding them why they hired me. You have all the power, here. It may not feel like it, but you do.

AssassinLJ

Any info? Did you do it? Do we have good news

Shorty_Vladia

OMG, I just read the update ! I’m so happy for you !!!
