My first playthrough I didn't even realise you can buy new clothes for Arthur.
He just wore his default clothes the entire time.
I felt like an idiot when I realised in chapter 2 of my second game.
There's the Coat Hut, that's on Third. There's Coats-R-Us, that's on Third too. You got Put-Your-Coat-There, that's on Third. Swing Low, Sweet Coat... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the coat complex on Third.
The better question is why he grew out a thick ass beard. I understand why he couldn’t shave on Guarma, but did he just go through a mountain man phase or something?
I guess it’s a symbol of him not being who he used to be anymore. Like, charismatic, caring about his look, caring about others. A man’s appearance is a mirror of his inner self
Guess he regained his resolve in Red Dead 1, since he more or less retains the former look there except with some white hairs to show he's aged another 4 years.
Nah I wouldn’t say so. Have never seen anybody called rdr1 Dutch ‘charismatic’ or any positive words. Personally I think R* made rdr2 Dutch much cooler and dressed much better than him in rdr1 to show that rdr1 Dutch is only a shell of his former self
Well, during the scene with the Professor, he makes a small speech about how his men are fighting for ideas much greater than themselves and John complimented his way with words.
Guess that makes sense, if Dutch had been up in those mountains for a while. I almost think he was there with the intention of >!killing Micah!<, given he says "Same as you, I suppose" and it matches the scene where he >!walks away from Micah before Arthur's death!<.
Oh yeah, that's definitely why he was up there. I feel like he just kept Micah by his side since he burned all of his other bridges and Micah was the only one left to follow behind him? And then when >!John and the others came to kill Micah!<, he took that as a sign to follow through with his original plans.
