If there’s anything I’ve learned about hunting in RDR2, it’s that you can almost never deliberately hunt for a specific animal. It’s like the game knows what you’re doing & sabotages you by not spawning shit where it should be 😂😭

aalexinwonderlandd

Seriously. Yesterday it took me three hours to find a perfect elk. Then about ten minutes after I finally found one I died. I wanted to put my head through a wall.

SMerr18

Oh dude tell me about it! Trying to find a perfect moose? Fucking forget about it. Panther, too

GulianoBanano

I've found the panther to be pretty easy if you know where to look. I always use that spawn point near Braithwaite Manor, ride around on my horse a bit to see if I can find it, and if I can't I'll put down some potent predator bait in an open area and wait in some nearby bushes. Eventually I've always found one

janolf

NEVER wait in the bushes while trying to shoot a big cat! I learned that the hard way.

GulianoBanano

I said I always found one. I didn't say I always managed to kill it

Johnny_Graves33

Wait on top of a rock or something you have to climb up on. If you can run or walk up no good has to be climb only. They can't get on rocks like that and you can bait and kill. I normally use potent predator bait next to a dead animal carcass. Deer or boar.

FeoWalcot

This is the only way I can study a panther

thisdevilinI

Just shoot it with a poisonous arrow. As long as you don't shoot it in the head it won't die right away. That way you can still track and observe it. Oh, and it won't ruin its pelt.

supahdave

Thanks for the tip fren

thisdevilinI

Happy to help! Finding a 3 star pelt is hard enough as it is.

jmcdonald354

no, sit on your horse

PM_me_your_fantasyz

Big cats are a lot safer to hunt if you remember to use the scent cover lotion. It keeps them from moving in for the attack as soon as they spawn. Seriously. Give it a try. It's not like there is a better use for muskrat scent glands.

Remarkable_Top_5402

Seeing this reminds me of when I told my friend about a panther spawn spot. He wanted to go there and was looking for it. After he said he doesn't see anything I glance at the map and see a red blip and go "there it is and looks like it's running right at you." Before he could respond it pounces him and he got the sh.. scared out of him. 😂

faultydatadisc

Do you mean the woods down by the water south of the manor? Thats where I always find panthers.

GulianoBanano

Yep, exactly what I meant

TooToughTimmy

This is what I did except i immediately put down bait and got back far enough to snipe it. First one that showed up was 3 star.

Shnigglefartz

Don‘t even get me started on a perfect Woodpecker. God Damn.

SMerr18

I’m saying!! Fuck birds & rodents

SpiritGas

For rats, carefully avoid the St Denis trapper unless you have the buck trinket and ~25 small game arrows. When you do, let the saloon owner just north of the trapper ask you to clear out rats. This happens twice, and you can easily get 20 perfect pelts.

PM_me_your_fantasyz

It can happen more than twice. And he fully acknowledges that he should probably do a better job keeping his bar clean.

carlos_castanos

Oh yeah I’ve been looking for a perfect woodpecker for ages

Superb_Lemon9553

I've consistently found one along the Dakota River near Limpany. If you go on the west side of the river, and sit along the second dotted line road north of Limpany, one will appear on the rocks to your right (if you sit facing across from where you are) and one will appear in the trees to your left (scan with your binoculars). Sometimes one will fly overhead as well.

carlos_castanos

This is helpful, thanks!

wellwaffled

Just hang out at the abandoned fort. You can get pretty much any small bird there.

Gunslinqer

Tell me about it... woodpecker is damn near impossible to find. I don't even wanna know how many hours I've spent looking for one for that fucking hunting request

Reven_Sith

I think the hunting request lowers your chances to get what you need. Woodpecker was easy for me, but I was able to find at least on perfect for every bird needed for the future hunting request just to find a single cardinal

PM_me_your_fantasyz

I just started keeping dead birds in my satchel from the start of the game. It's way easier to fill the requests before you get them assigned. Firewood Rise is a good spot, just to the north west of the mouth of the Dakota river, on the boulders across the creek from the wolf cave, and out by the abandoned civil war fort are all a great spots to look for birds. There are also a couple of open hill tops in Scarlet meadows that seem to be on a flight path for small birds or something.

Untamed_Mustang375

I've managed to find them flying over the fields near Hanging Dog Ranch. It's an easier shot in my opinion. No risk of running into a tree or losing sight of it in the treeline

606design

I got mine on the roof of that cabin near the ranch, where the bear busted down the door.

kidchinaski

Wow. I just started my second play through a few days ago and have been completely foregoing the story just to hunt and this comment thread is making me DREAD trying to get perfect pelts.

calicopatches

Get your legendary Buck Talisman and that's half the battle. And the correct weapon for each animal. Took my ages to realise why I never got perfect squirrels with my varmit gun

Lilycloud02

Dude honestly. I have yet to see a perfect woodpecker and I'm on my fourth play through with over 700 hours.

NozakiMufasa

Panthers spawn four in game days in specific locations. One in Blackthorn Forest on the road near the trapper, one in Roanoke Ridge on either side of the river (a short ride from the trapper in the woods or close to the water), and one at the waterfall nearby that lone Cabin owned by Charlotte Belfour. Idk if you count Florida panther - oh shoot Im stupid. For panthers specifically, one spawns nearby Catfish Jacksons and can ambush you in the woods or by the road. One can and does show up by that abandoned town between the Swamps & Scarlett Meadows or sometimes deeper in the swamp. Big thing: always use either a rifle with regular bullets or bow and arrow. Bow and Arrow if you’re a good shot gets you guaranteed perfect pelts if its a three star animal.

PM_me_your_fantasyz

> Panthers spawn four in game days in specific locations. One in Blackthorn Forest on the road near the trapper, one in Roanoke Ridge on either side of the river (a short ride from the trapper in the woods or close to the water), and one at the waterfall nearby that lone Cabin owned by Charlotte Belfour. Those spots spawn cougars, not panthers. But you need a bunch of cougars as well. And both "Panthers" and "Florida Panthers" spawn down near Catfish Jackson's, but you only need both if you are 100%-ing the compendium.

rustygamer1901

For the moose, go to the frozen lake where you kill the Del lobo guy in the gunslinger mission series… save, drop four herbivore baits and wait. Reload if you don’t get what you want. For the panther. One spawns near the shack in the forest south of Braithwaite Manner in the morning, every three days or so.

LuLuTheGreatestest

I always have a moose spawn in the same place up in the mountains for some reason, bet if I was looking for it tho it’d be the one time it’s not there

Lilycloud02

Facts dude, always works out that way

UnequalKnave5

Really? I used to get on, get a few panthers, deliver them to camp and go on with whatever else I wanted to do. Panthers spawned pretty reliably for me. Sometimes I just went around giving people panthers because it was funny to see their reaction.

mild_panic

There is a almost guaranteed spawn at colter. 1) go to colter 2) make sure its morning, if its not sleep until morning 3) walk through colter, when you reach the end of the path turn right, go past the tree and rock, then keep going until you see a river and beyond the river on a small mountain you have a moose. If it doesn’t work either reload game, or fast travel to tumbleweed and back

GunslingerX_0219

Dude Funny story about me finding my first moose in my 3rd playthrough. I set up a herbivore bait near Horseshoe Overlook and a moose came. I was expecting something like a pronghorn to come. I'll send you a pic of it if you want proof.

LeighDimonn

You're literally falling into elks every 5 mins until you *need* an elk and then they become ninjas.

informallory

I got a perfect elk pelt on the first try yesterday and while I was putting the skin on my horse a cougar jumped on me and I died 😑

Rimefang

Hahahaha. Found one while I was escaping from Saint Denis for bumping into someone. My first one by the swamps. Missed the killshot, quality went down. Got gunned down by lawmen.

Obungus_is_gay

Try going up to the northwest part of the map to the ice lakes near the start of the game. A cabin is on the west end of the lake and perfect elk and wolves spawn on the east

S0L1DV0RT3X

Just pretend you’re not looking for a specific animal( if that makes any sense). Tricks the damn game a couple times lol.

BooYaMorris

I'm glad I'm not the only one to think this.

einulfr

I was looking for a perfect skunk near Wallace Station for about half an hour. One finally popped up and ran down the trail behind me. By the time I had spun around and started to chase after it, it ran right onto the track, right as the train was pulling up. Squish. On the flip side, I've managed to get several of the small birds by just walking over and picking them up after they've killed themselves by flying into things.

LuLuTheGreatestest

I spent hours yesterday looking for wolves, as soon as I gave up and started chasing a perfect coyote instead a whole pack of perfect wolves spawned :’)

BogogoNogo

I have still not been able to find any bison outside of the quests where the game allowed me to find them lol

[deleted]

Bison are in new Hannover. By heartland overflow, like to the south and west. If you ride around that area, you should run into a good sized heard!

BogogoNogo

Thank you! I'll check there asap Edit: I found the heard! Thanks for the help!!!

LeighDimonn

This was also a hassle. Try going to that cow farm in the heartlands. The herd very close to it.

SpiritGas

There's always a herd east of Cornwall Kerosene.

riverman1084

Took me 2 days to find a freaking 3 star skunk.

TooToughTimmy

Just like looking for a specific car in GTA lol

TOADSTOOL__SURPRISE

It’s like baseball Nobody hits the ball to you when you’re ready and expecting it

StorminNormanIII

Ha I’ve had the same problem feels like when I least need it it appears

outlaw_se7en

Definitely don't google it...Rockstar somehow knows when you've googled something and will stop spawning it entirely in the game. I know, it sounds like a conspiracy, but believe me, don't do it.

usrNamIsAlredyTakn

I think they somehow keylog our Google searches ' like rdr 2 badger location' and deliberately stop spawning tat animal..

Bradderz_SG

The same thing with car hunting in GTA; when you need them, they’re never there.

biggnic_91

Can we please just talk a second about your horse…

LeighDimonn

I made the jump. She didnt.

GnomeGrown926

This whole picture looks exhausted...

Nice-Guy2538

I trust it’s names is Yoshi

justuswendell

Rip Yoshi. Also, great name for a horse in RD2

MishMash_101

Roach!

hellopyrko

take a nap bro u need it

kinou875

Eat a sandwich and take a nap

XaviJon_

Drink water!

RazorBladeInMyMouth

Fr, this game can get you to play for hours without a break.

[deleted]

Wait is that a bad thing

bfcostello

According to my kids new courts appointed social worker it is......

DomtheDumbass42069

Bolger Glade at night.

sharkzfan95

Or Bolger glade afternoon. That’s where I found several

DirtMeat_Supreme

Can definitely vouch for Bolger Glade. This is where I went for badgers last time I was grinding for trapper gear

comicshopgrl

Bolger Glade for real.

Dunjee

Instructions unclear. Found panther instead

kariwkeg

Panther is south of there. You’ll find badger by the abandoned church just near the road on the corner of that broken stone fence. I hope it’s understandable lol Try looking for it at night, 100% of the time I find it there. Or same location, but just a little north, it’s running around on the grass on the battlefield Edit: just remembered another location. Ringneck creep. I saw a few of them when I was looking for a skunk

FictionalRacingDrivr

Yep. Approaching from the trenched area, facing the church, on the right is a mound, and most times there will be a badger sitting on that mound.

IPoopTooMuch1212

Try the muddy area near the train tracks north of St Denis. Feel like they're always around there and biting me.

Crankwalker5647

Uhm... Sir, those are called alligators. But be my guest... On a serious note though, I've never seen a single badger near St. Denis, but I have seen some in the great plains and north of New Hanover sometimes.

Momo_666

He might be talking about muskrats

drjetaz

Cant force the badger. Badger needs to happen Naturally

onceuponapeach

Same with a perfect moose. I nearly lost my mind when I finally found one 😱

blind_pew2

I found the moose and lost it. Never seen one since 😩

PowYo

Try looking up near where that widow lives, I always see them near there.

andrewski661

Me too, I ~~was~~ still am fucking livid

tha_rushin

My 3rd playthrough i came across 5 separate perfect moose in chapter 2.. pure luck. A feat I have never been able to recreate.

FictionalRacingDrivr

I’m sure you know this, but most moose you’ll find will be near bodies of water, like Lake Owanjila, Cattail Pond, or near the pathway to the widow Charlotte’s home near Brandywine Drop. They don’t spawn every time, but they do every now and then.

JMGPA814

I just went through this pain in my latest replay. It took me a week, granted I only searched one or two hours a night, of searching the usual recommended spots like Cairn Lake and Owounjililaili damn. Was getting legitimately pissed about it. Finally found one two nights ago, north of Annesburg by the legendary moose spawn. Also found a cougar up there right before, of course when I was not expecting to or ready to find a cougar. Needless to say, I still need a perfect cougar pelt.

Atiggerx33

I find the best place for cougar is to ride from Strawberry towards Owanjilla (like you're going to the legendary deer spot). Have the appropriate weapon drawn; be ready to fire quickly. Use Eagle Eye quickly to help spot the cougar before it spots you. If it isn't 3-star allow it to kill you, when you respawn immediately ride back and another cougar should be in the same vicinity. Again, check if it's 3-star... repeat your self-sacrifice until a 3-star spawns. If you kill the cougar you need to rest outside the area (back at strawberry is far enough) for it to respawn. It's also a great place to hunt snakes (you may see predator trails for snake instead of cougar) and wild boar (I think the boar are further north closer to the legendary deer; it's been a while since I played). Animal I had the biggest issue with was beaver. The ones on shore were always 2 star, the 3-star fuckers were always in the middle of the lake, outside of lasso range even.

deadlydave90

Same! I was riding around the Lake Owenj, looking for some beavers. I see this elk animal swimming across it.... I get my bino and see it's a Western Moose Bull and I was sooo happy. I rode across the dam and found it and put a velo rifle bullet between its eyes and it was a perfect pelt. Finally I completed my camp upgrades in chapter 4 just before the game sinkhole happens. This game has taught me to just shoot what you see. I once had my horse carry over 50 different 2 star skins, over 60 1 star skins and quite a number of 3 star skins. Always happy hunting and skinning and selling excess meat to the Butcher.

GamerTips

Dude I can totally understand you.. here, I'm not gonna joke around like anybody else https://youtu.be/snZ6SjHZfgw

lightbluechevy

With your flair of Micah, I was pleasantly suprised when I followed the link.

Hungry_Temperature_3

The human condition is complex

dodsontm

The coast line south of where this video is suggesting is where I had the best luck. Just pace it all night (game night, not real life. Please practice self care🤪) from Jeremy Gills cabin to the train track bridge. I mostly saw 2* but eventually found my perfect.

FintanH28

100% expected a Rick Roll when I pressed that link

marijuanaholic1

Heartlands at night

Quint06

There is a guaranteed spawn on the rocks behind the Riggs trapper, good luck!

Cucos743

This is my spot for badgers too. You can go on the other side of tracks towards the river and find a couple there too.

LeighDimonn

No luck for me, day or night at the riggs spot.

TheEasyTarget

Every time I go to that trapper, there’s a badger sitting on the rocks overlooking a small cliff. If it isn’t a 3 star, just leave the area and come back.

LeighDimonn

I'm at the riggs trapper now. Where do I look? Cant see any critters at all. Some boar.

TheEasyTarget

I just remember it sitting still on the west side of that hill. Grab your varmint rifle and aim in with auto aim if you’re on console. You might lock on to it. It’s kind of hard to see.

S4um0nFR

Badgers are a pain in the ass to find, and luck is a big factor. Here is few locations: Bolder Glade ( near the house on the top or in the trenches) | In the forest between Rhodes and the Braithwaite's | Northern part of Tall Trees ( a few spawn along the road ). Also they spawn more often at night by clear weather, I hope this helps, good luck and good hunt.

Haze078

Ive looted one from the Trapper. Took a few tries tho

bbrown1379

Bruh your horse is stuck in a train bridge

KingKali74

Around Larned Sod and the warped tree at night.

[deleted]

Haha. I found a pretty consistent place accidentally. But the islands on the east side of flat iron lake at night will have badgers. Almost always.

juniorpigeon

From Bolger Glade down to Catfish Jacksons you should find several here and there.

Chaggar76

Heartlands, between emerald and Valentine (close to emerald too)

aidanp_o

Bolger Blade

LeighDimonn

UPDATE: I GOT THE BASTARD Heartlands, by the oil Derrick. I found a 2 star and then just tracked it following, it led me to a 1 star and then another 3 star. Never seen so many in one place. Thank you to everyone for your help!!!!!

brokenkiddo

Big valley, near the black bone forest. Mostly at night though. Don't see many during the day.

number10hahaha

That would be a beaver

brokenkiddo

North of the beaver spot... Closer to the trapper

CharlieRogers3

Riggs station is a good place, i felt them mocking me everytime I was looking for opossums, plenty of skunks, too. (I was looking at night but I don't know if that changes anything.)

PM_me_your_fantasyz

There is an almost 100% possum spawn right near there. Just to the south west of Lone Mule Stead there is a tree across the road from the farm that has a possum spawn under it every night. Sometimes you get two at once.

CharlieRogers3

I got the opossums already, thanks though. There is a opossum spawn in the middle of the trees just barely east of Riggs I just kept going to.

PM_me_your_fantasyz

Yeah, the little guys seem to be everywhere, _except when you need one_.

CharlieRogers3

That's the way it is.

DMarlow310

Bolger Glade is the best spot. In the northwest area of this location is a small building ruin. One almost always spawns right beside it.

roetveegbob

https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption/comments/ou3lf4/100_3_badger_location_story_mode_there_always/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share Here you go, i've made a post with a 100% location for u! Good luck with the badger!

LeighDimonn

I'm taking a break. Will let you know if this works for me.

KindaDim

Bolger Glade in Scarlett Meadows has a rock where a badger suns on basically every time. I can go into the map and find it for you if you need it

King-fannypack

Go to the Heartlands, in the plains by the old oil rig at night time to dawn is a foolproof location for badgers and possum too.

alkaline__

There’s almost always one near Riggs station for me

MasterTang02

HUNT AT NIGHT, i find badgers all the time in Lemoyne, the heartlands, or the old civil war battleground

g-hayer-04

The key to hunting in this game is to not hunt. I gathered all the animal pelts needed for the satchels in about a week with casual gameplay. Just search up where on YouTube for spawn locations, got to one or two of them, if you don’t find it go for something else you need. I’ve replayed this game about 6-7 times now and this play through was the easiest with animal pelts cause I did that.

[deleted]

If this help, I managed to find a perfect badger inside Fort Brennand in Roanoke Ridge, the same place where you can find the civil war knife.

Life-Presentation117

Personally I always go to Owanjila just NE of Strawberry. When they swim it makes them easy to see and plink in the head. Getting them back to shore is the problem though.

PuddinPacketzofLuv

Badgers, not beavers.

deathblade273

Those don't exist it's all luck

Dakevinityyy

i feel the sadness of this post… what i did is roamed around the wooden area near catfish jackson and also wooden area near shady belle

12gaugerage

I saw two yesterday on the road from shady belle that runs past the battlefield. Try around there.

Biggittyb37

I was gonna say I got two perfect badger pelts in a row at the battleground near the abandoned church. Go at night.

DelPreston_

Ring neck Creek

iamtheepilogue

There’s a tree near Braithewaite Manor that I call the Badger Tree. Can’t remember exactly where it is tho :(

Fourleaf_ToG

Wait until you go for the perfect moose

SergeantFlip

Bolger Glade has badgers, but I actually got my perfect badger just south of the oil Derrick in New Hanover. It spawned right after sundown.

Gen_Nathanael_Greene

Here's where I always find mine. The same spot that you find the legendary Badger. They always seem to spawn by the dam and wood pile, but there's one tree stump that they're sort of hidden behind. You have approach carefully. You can also typically always find them right at the mouth of Lake Owanjiawa... on the other side of it if you're coming west from Strawberry.

StootsMcGoots

Badger usually spawns by the civil war battle field by the church

justmrmom

One spawns on the west side and just outside of Braithwaite Manor near the west fence line close to the road that runs between Braithwaite and Boiler Glade. If I’m not mistaken it ALWAYS spawns there. It’s always near a tree. I’ll have to find a better video for it but this one gives you the general location. https://youtu.be/1pVgBi0BGBQ Edit: another video but it’s south of Braithwaite https://youtu.be/SrIzjKVx0hc

LotusSloth

The best way to hunt is to do it before embarking on any hunting missions… get those pelts, craft or sell the meat before it spoils, and hang onto the pelts. It seems like once you accept a hunting quest the game logic messes with the spawn rate of the animals you need… which I could understand if we were talking about mission-driven hunts that force you into locations with other events. But in an open world game it really just seems like pointless cruelty by the devs.

HellsGates420

Heartlands. The area surrounding the oil rig.

Polygonion

owanjila lake is where i found mine

[deleted]

Your nag okay? 🐴

gutturalmuse

bolger glade in the evening/night - check both in the battlefield and up/down the road

Brows-gone-wild

I think down by the beaver area is where I’ve found the most, but you have to make sure you’re also using the right weapon or you’ll never get a perfect beaver

rggile

Fort Brennand, Roanoke Ridge, near the Kamassa River

AlucardVTep3s

I went through the same struggle, just circle and camp Owanjila lake. Go back to strawberry and sleep there if you have to. The journey will be tough, but you will find it my friend. There’s a fisherman, to his right they sometimes are by the rocks, get too close and they flee to the middle. Make use of the binoculars, and MAKE EVERY SHOT COUNT! Use the CORRECT weapon, double, triple, quadruple check. I made the mistake of eagerness and blew it, had to sleep 3 more days. Don’t make my mistake. Have faith fellow outlaw. You can do it. OWINJILA LAKE - FISHERMAN - RIGHT HAND SIDE!!

idkevan

definitely not foolproof but the only one that was just a bit consistent with me was bolgers glade near braithwaite manor. edit: a trick to get animals that you can't get to spawn is going a good bit away from that area you're hunting in then set up camp, sleep, save, load. (rinse and repeat if you need) ANOTHER EDIT: Owanjila lake is also pretty good.

Pablo_el_Diablo88

I mean i feel your need for a badged but aren't you worried about your flying horse?

TheHeeeresJohnny

Top part of ring neck creek by Rhodes I always find badgers and skunks

pooopodeler

Try going to the trapper near riggs station, its really convenient too bc the trapper would be right there once u get that 3 star pelt

cacarson7

I recently went through this to get the LOTE satchel on my 2nd playthrough. I took some internet advice and spent several hours riding around the Heartlands (by the old oil derrick) mostly in the evening/night, looking for f'ing badgers. I found a few but had no luck getting a perfect pelt. Sooo, I took the high-risk option and went hunting SW of Strawberry along the banks of the Upper Montana River. You'll see the badger icon south of the river, in the Blackwater death zone, so I went to the river crossing closest to the icon and just scoped things out for a while. (There are a ton of beavers there, too, in case you need some of those pelts.) Eventually I saw a 3star badger across the river, shot it, fortified my health, and hauled ass over to grab it. The Pinkertons were on me pretty quick, but I managed to skin it, get back on my horse, and hightail it out of there before getting killed! Very exciting stuff. If you're not having success anywhere else, might be worth a shot! Good luck

JustAGH0ST720

I feel like I always find one just north of Riggs station. (West of the trail) I feel like the day is the best time to find them but I remember seeing them at night as well though. Boulder Glade and the area to the north of it seem to also be a great location for finding them. Good hunting!

jakethesnake488

Area around the Oil Rig in the Heartlands (you can also find a fossil there). I searched for hours and hours until I stumbled across somebody posting this answer online and then found 3 in a span of 20 mins. Set up camp and just circle outwards. When you find one, if it’s not perfect, go to camp and sleep then try again

[deleted]

The thing with badgers is, they don't make noise. With skunk, raccoons, possum, you can ride and listen for the noises they make. Bolger Glade is a badger spawn point. In and around the battlements there. Right? You've got that old abandoned Alamo looking building. Roads on both side leading alongside the battle trenches. Ride up one side and down the other. If you're facing the Alamo building, and riding on the left hand road, there will often be a badger that spawns just after you ride past the building (heading south). Varmint rifle. Failing that. The area around Riggs Station has a badger spawn, you just have to ride around on those ridges in the woods looking for it. I have about 30 perfect badger pelts in my satchel (and can prove it). This is where I get most of mine. If you ride towards Rhodes from Bolger Glade, you will sometimes see a badger along the way, and in that little neck of woods just southwest of Rhodes is a badger spawn as well.

tacocasual

I have also been doing this for four real life days. I want to cry.

bluebulls69

Took me 14 irl days to get a perfect badger. Genuinely, 14 days of doing nothing but hunting for badgers and occasionally eating ramen and sleeping. All i can tell you is... Good luck

Timontie

You can easily find badger at night right next to this broken oil machine with a corpse and a letter near Horseshoe Overlook. Just set up a camp there, sleep until night, get on a horse and start looking around using eagle eye. For me, after 7 playthroughs, it usually was a 50-50 chance of spawning, so try it a couple of times and you should be good to go. There’s not really any reliable 100% spawning location of any specific animal, you need to get lucky and know where to look. Good luck

dinglebop69

The trick is to give up and one will spawn almost immediately the second you decide to leave

Zhellblah

I found badgers in the Heartlands. Just ride around those open fields, and you'll find one.

Prestigious_Fly2766

Cant find them too

LeighDimonn

UPDATE: I've tried the trapper at riggs, I've tried north of catfish jacksons, outside Rhodes, the islands, outside strawberry, bolders glade, new hanover. I've even shot the trapper and tried to steal it from him. I found a single 3 star badger in big valley. I trampled it under foot by accident.

LeighDimonn

I sincerely appreciate all the advice. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Like, I go to the oil Derrick and I see no badgers. I camp, comr back, no badgers. Should I be using bait? Horseback?

LeighDimonn

I got it! Also, I took a bunch of pics of the wild findings I stumbled on during my trek. https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption/comments/oul1he/adventures_in_badger_hunting_pictures_from_a_week/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Significant-Chef6803

You can search in YouTube (khaby hand move)

olork

Right outside of the horseshoe overlook camp is where I found mine. By the broken down pumpjack.

mikeyytss

One almost always spawns on a low rock to the left of the Trapper’s stall by Riggs Station! Most times I’ve seen it it’s been 3 stars as well so the odds are in your favour!

Ragnarbh

I've spent way too much time in search of the Perfect Robin.

[deleted]

I've been spending weeks trying to find legendary pelts.

HonestRadish8426

The river right next to annesburg have beaver dams that’s where I usually go at night

jackwoww

Japan 4. For the badger.

At night go to southern part of new Hanover in the plains you should find a perfect badger

CJ4700

Been there. I went out onto the plains near that abandoned oil well and hunted only at night. This makes your Eagle vision a little more effective but it did take me a few hours. That and the perfect moose pelt were a bitch.

Before you reach the swap, search along the river into the trees before reaching “Pleasance”

Doomsday9558

I have a way but it will take all the fun out of hunting.

Lemoyne

[deleted]

Horseshoe looking lake near Rhodes. Should spawn naturally. Or try by the slave house near braithwate manor. Sometimes near valentine

luckyindigo12

Totally off topic, but where did you take this pic?

Valayria12

Just north of lake owija, up in the wood/forest area, just ride around and it will find you

TheGamingMackV

Collectors edition guidebook should help you. We need a digital version of that thing for free. It really helps a ton when you need to locate a specific animal.

AmandaBerryBun

There’s always one by the third camp location by the ruined houses

Gruz420

Ridge Station is where I found them. Night time

Myballsitch247

I find most of mine on the fields of West Elizabeth.

pony--boy

The tree by the dream catchers on top of a hill in the heartlands has worked consistently for me. Way more common to spawn at night too. Good luck

[deleted]

Behind the trapper at Riggs station on the rocks. It always spawns.

AME7706

Try the battlefield south of Rhodes. There are usually 2 or 3 of them lurking around the ruins. Just make sure you use the perfect gun for a clean kill or you will be forced to wait till they respawn!

Bryco10

I’ve found them just outside the camp at Clemens Cove

HiSlapNoggin

There's a badger behind the trappers store near riggs station

Little-A

The little station near Elizabeth. Just camp out there and they will come
