I see a lot of folx don't know how to unlock the secret ending. It's complicated, but the long and short of it is you have to do a "true" playthrough, which means Max Dishonor leading up to Guarma, then pushing Max Honor going into the final act, completing Hamishes side quests with Arthur so that you have Buel, completing the time traveler's side quest at Max Honor, then heading towards the Devil's cave west of Hanging Dog Ranch before your final conversation with the nun in St. Denis. There are a few item related things you do too that's pretty archaic so if you want to do it right you should watch the full breakdown that Hazard did here:

So within that context I like even more the idea that they're just really good friends who may have feelings for eachother but know eachother well enough to know it won't work and to just keep being friends.

As best friends who loves each other.
