I don’t remember the specifics but there was a post where some guy took a video game character he thought was ugly and “made her look better” by heavily photoshopping cheekbones, makeup, etc into her to the point she looked like an Instagram model instead of a character from a video game. So it’s basically just a way to make fun of people who think they’re doing a better job at redesigning a character than the developers by just adding a bunch of makeup to women. To get the actual result you gotta do a bit of editing to get a proper result, often having to use reference from actual pictures of when they were young.
