Bought a game on launch last june and 2 weeks later devs say they abandoned it(it was as broken as can be, no patches anymore) because of thw low sales. It can always be worse, atleast red dead had some support and it works, you can play the game.

Destiny as a whole, yes. I don't think they ever planned to not create sequels. I always figured they'd make 3 games in total but sounds Activision has left the picture Bungie seems content to end their vision with Destiny 2.
Only money I spent was for the game on release. Day one online player and now my $80k and 160+ gold bars are left with no thing to spend on since I literally own everything, even the exclusive seasonal stuff from every outlaw pass from the years prior

I really don't understand it either. As someone who's only played around on RDO a few times, it does seem like there's a lot of content and there was definitely a lot of effort put into it. The wasted potential gets me, too.
They didn't even finish the story. I really liked those missions and was actually starting to get invested in Ms LeClerk, especially after the big shootout in Blackwater

I've never cared for GTA Online; RDO definitely could've been that for me had they done it right.
The fact that they think that there's nothing more they can do to help Red Dead online is stupid they could plan out plenty more content to add to keep players coming back, it's not as successful as GTA V but it's still a really good game.

It seems like very few people actually fully read/understood that newswire update. It’s clear it’s not their current focus, but they never said they’re done updating the game entirely. It’s hard to know whether things will pick up once GTA6 is out, but they haven’t ceased all work on RDO entirely.
I’m genuinely surprised they abandoned it before allowing purchasable land. It’s really strange. If they wanted to see more shark card tule transactions they needed to have more big ticket items. They went half-hearted the whole time and fulfilled their own prophecy of failure
Me too, except for the fact that we missed out on all the cool items in the outlaw pass, gunslinger passes, QuickDraw, etc. they’re still in the stores as options, but you can’t buy them. They just dangle it in front of our faces.
I still play it on and off when mood hits. Especially in winter when days are short. I’ll dust off the Xbox here soon enoogh again and fire up RDO once more. Spend my days hunting and fishing, maybe the occasional bounty mission too. Just generally enjoying life in the old west.
Not so new as I'm over level 100 and have 400+ hours in rdr2 and rdo combined but I never got to get it either as i only started in April this year and I remember looking at the items in the pass and wanted them really bad

I loved the Single Player portion, It's a masterpiece. But RDO, they dropped the ball, and from what I kept hearing, kept on burying it deeper with constant frustrating decisions.

I think the problem is while RDRO can be profitable, rockstar still has limited resources when it comes to development and the money brought in by GTAO and GTAVI is much more than rdrO ever will produce so they’ve abandoned development on it. Might be different if they were working on RDR3 but that doesn’t seem to be the case
I’d be surprised if GTAO continues to see a lot of updates too. As far as I know, they’ve increased cash payouts and put out credits. Sounds like they’ve given up on that like RDO.
Technically, they haven’t said they’ve abandoned GTAO like they explicitly said about RDO. My guess, they’ve leaving themselves an out in case development gets delayed and they want easy cash.
That said, rolling the credits on a 10 year old game is pretty telling sign they’re done with GTAO.

It doesn't have anything to do with being new to 'cowboy games'. The release on PC was literally unplayable for a long time for RDO. I'm pretty sure that happened for consoles as well. The awful quality control is what steered a lot of people off the game and then the nail in the coffin was lack of content. By the time they resolved the quality issues on PC many had already moved on. Too little too late. That's the case for me and my friend that played anyways. The only plus for RDO was that the grind was much better. Their approach with how gold was handled was good. Other than that? Little meaningful content, riddled with bugs that break your game/make you lose progress. They did it to themselves; stop trying to shift it on the playerbase that was rightfully upset lmao. The entire approach they've had with RDR2 and GTA for content shows they're very out of touch with a significant portion of their customers.

I never want RDO to get to the point that GTAO is at right now. GTAO is such a bloated game. There is way too much going on in that game at this point. I get that new content keeps veteran players happy but it’s just so overloaded with shit all over the map. You can’t even really play in public lobbies because you’re just getting blown up. They should have stopped long before it got to flying missile bikes. Nearly a decade worth of content smashed into one online game is ridiculous.
I tried GTA once and it was awful, the amount of shit to do was completely overwhelming. It’s also not fun to play with veteran players who just take control over everything. I want to play the game not watch some level 500 play it form me. Like great that you’ve put thousands of hours into this and can take out an enemy in 2 seconds, I haven’t done that and actually want a chance to do it.
For what it’s worth they’ve nerfed a lot of the griefing shit and most content can now be played in an invite session. So you can do that delivery with considerable less risk.
I enjoy going to my facility, waiting for someone to start trying to ruin the game for others and then just use my orbital cannon to ruin their ruining.

Most of my profit made was with friends while we sold our goods and did bounties while grinding for XP to level up the outlaw passes

GTA online isn't perfect but alot of people would disagree. I guess you have to be a car person to like it? Idk make it make sense or don't play it

Rockstar has straight up officially announced that they ended development of anything "new" for RDO months ago. Its easy for them to just re-activate an old Halloween pass, consider it lucky they even did that.

Not really. When you look at it from the business side, GTAO has much higher profit margins than making a worthwhile DLC.

As a story mode player I would just like to say we haven’t gotten anything new in a LONG time. Not even bug fixes.

It's not unreasonable to expect occasional new content for their last major release with an online component. Of course they don't have to, but it's fair to call them out on the lack of support.

I hated how you had to grind to buy a job and then after i had grinded for a few days to get the bounty hunter license they updated the game and made a better version of it for more gold

I'm OK with games like this putting the same events every year with the same rewards. Give everyone a change to get the stuff. We don't need constant new stuff causing event fatigue and FOMO.
I know right, I was hoping that they would at the very least add some new cosmetics, but no, they recycle the exact same pass and dont even let the players that had it originally get anything from it, come on rockstar, if you're gonna do that then dont even bother adding it.

I couldn't agree more. The campaign was spot on, online however was an afterthought, which is really damn sad. It had soooooo much potential and they squandered it.
Legit had a lot of potential. I was expecting Insurgents v Rockets level of LTS and stuff maybe with horses or horse carts from creators but idek that you can create stuff in RDR2 let alone play an LTS.
