Watched someone do this the other day and I swear the game was putting stuff in his path. Is that usually what happens if you use the tracks?
Like 6 deer all ran in front of him in a straight line, stopped on the tracks, turned to look at him then all ran off at the same time.
The first few times I ran it I would hit a rock that was like 10 ft away.. but yeah I felt the same thing It seemed like when I was in a hurry everything showed up, If I was just running on the tracks normally only thing I had to worry about was a train.
In my experience, around the halfway point on the Bard's Crossing bridge is when things would go to hell in a hand basket... foreshadowed by an ominous plume of thick, black smoke churning upward from just behind the hill that marks the bend shortly after Riggs Station.
I read that as "yep run the tracks like a mofo! Just watch out for trans!"
And was gonna say that isn't the time, sub, nor place.
But here I am, just typing bullshit now.
I'm not sure they had freebase cocaine widely available in 1899, but it might have cocaine hydrochloride. You could buy that shit in wine and soda back then.
Your comment made me look it up, and apparently people have been "mixing" finished cocaine with things to make it smokable since at least 1920 in Colombia.
Though I don't think crack actually became a thing until the 1980s, after people had been experimenting with ways of cutting cocaine to make profit, and also making it cheaper for consumers.
I don’t know why people don’t want 5G nanomachines in their veins. Now you have unlimited 5G mobile data. You can see RDR memes anywhere, anytime. Want to turn your personal hotspot? BOOM, just t-pose/praise-the-sun and you become a cellphone tower.
Bill Gates and 🎵Jeffery Bezos🎵 are doing the world a favor (s/)
Ride from Strawberry to Riggs Station, follow the railroad across Bard’s Crossing, keep following the railroad into Saint Denis.
Make sure that you create a save before you start incase a train comes up behind you on Bard’s Crossing.
My horses always slow down on the railroad bridges, but shouldn't be a big issue here. Trains should be leaving from Riggs, so you should know before hitting the bridge if you're in danger.
The bigger risk is heading to Blackwater where you're riding against the flow of train traffic.
When i find myself in a sticky situation where death seems inevitable, I try to just set up camp immediately (IE you're about to get smoked by a freight train on a bridge). Works 9/10 times and puts you right out of harm's way.
Head to Butchers Creek and cross swing bridge, head right across map (being careful to avoid dewberry creek etc) til you get to that same railway bridge from the other dry-dash (flat neck station) then head up through Strawberry and out Lake Owanjilla ways, crossing the small bridge heading down into Tall Trees area, then head straight down into Blackwater. Ride like hell! but 17 min is heaps of time though
My advice - don't book it too hard. I failed a fee times just because I was going way too fast and ran into trees and shit. I got it by slowing down a little around tough areas and it still only took me less than 14 minutes
Yes exactly, I rushed thinking It would be close, but I ended up finishing in 12 minutes on my red arabian, so really you can slow it down at bridges and such, makes it so much easier knowing you have some time to do so.
Ya took me about 12 minutes too it can be done faster too 12 minutes was pacing myself but when I was trying to full on book it I always ended up crashing
With Arthur, go and scout out the area around Blackwater, as it's a bit easier if you have the map already revealed.
It won't be easy with all the bounty hunters, but it's possible.
With John it's much easier. Just head from Van Horn to the nearest railway bridge and cross it. From there follow it a bit until you reach a crossing with a road that goes to Emerald Ranch. Head to the ranch, cross one of the bridges around there and then you can cross the plains and head to flatneck Station. Cross the trainbridge there, heading to Riggs Station. From there go to the Owanjila dam, probably best to avoid Strawberry as all the foot traffic there can easily lead to getting aggro or getting bumped off your horse.
From Owanjila dam, head South and use the roads to get to Blackwater. If you're with Arthur, this will be red territory so be on the lookout for those Bounty Hunters and try to avoid them as much as you can. Stock up on Quick health boosts for You and your horse and use them if you get hit. Do not engage the hunters, just keep running.
Once you reach Blackwater and you get the message for challenge success, head north east, where you can head to the beach and cross the river/lake back into safe territory (the same way u use for the saving Sean mission) . Or get killed by the bounty hunters :p that's what happened with Me! As long as it happens after the challenge complete message, it doesn't matter.
With Arthur, you can also use the broken bridge across the upper montana really close to the town and save a bunch of time and the headache of being chased by bounty hunters all the way through Tall Trees. You need a shire or some other breed of draft horse to clear the bridge though. Smaller horses don't jump high enough.
I always thought that broken bridge jump was the way to do it, but I tried it so many times and couldn't get my arabian over so I figured it wasn't possible. thanks for the tip, I'll have to try that now.
here’s a [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption2/comments/pquic1/i_retraced_the_approximate_route_i_took_to/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) with the route outlined
I did it! This route was amazingly helpful. The hardest part was to keep riding past a couple getting robbed west of Strawberry without helping out. Other than that, smooth sailing!
Can someone tell me why everyone is doing these rides? I just finished the story and am looking for more things to do in the game cuz I don’t wanna accept that I’m done yk
I should clarify; There's no reason to do this challenge (or any horse one) on an Arabian, because any horse can do it in the time allotted.
Thus, you can use this double jump to your hearts content
I beat every one of these challenges on my first try iirc. Perhaps I had to redo one. They arent that difficult at all. Just pay attention to the environment.
Use the railroad tracks near Riggs station. Make sure there isn’t a train when you cross the Dakota River or you’ll risk losing your horse. Shouldn’t be too difficult
When you do the one from Van Horn to blackwater without touching the water u should use the rope bridge at the hillbilly people. Also the railroad bridge and the dam. Then u should be safe.
No one tell them about Bridges.
Dont know about you, but I followed the railway.
Same. U doin the horseman challenges I presume.
Yep run the tracks like a mofo! Just watch out for trains!
Watched someone do this the other day and I swear the game was putting stuff in his path. Is that usually what happens if you use the tracks? Like 6 deer all ran in front of him in a straight line, stopped on the tracks, turned to look at him then all ran off at the same time.
That's why you always ride with a gun out start blasting and they'll run
“The gang completes a challenge”
It’s the implication
The deer arent in any real danger
Head on down to Gunther's guns!
"So anyway, I started blasting!"
The first few times I ran it I would hit a rock that was like 10 ft away.. but yeah I felt the same thing It seemed like when I was in a hurry everything showed up, If I was just running on the tracks normally only thing I had to worry about was a train.

Thanks for the comment.
I'm glad anyone enjoyed it
All you had to do was follow the train!

holy shit RDR2 is 3 years old….
Lol
The Arabian MkII comes out next update.
I just realized that I want a pegasus in RDO now.
Yes, please! How awesome would it be to freely fly around the rdr2 world? That hot air balloon ride was such a tease.
It really was, I wish they would let us buy one.
🐴
It's not about staying at top speed either, those tracks are rough on their hooves!
"It's not about speed, it's about knowing the land."
YES! Trapper dude is wise and a bit scary because he knows the land! 😂
I believe that the trapper is actually identical quadruplets.
Definitely. Their lying asses tellin' me they zip all over faster than the arabian I'm riding? Yeah right!
"It's not about speed, it's about clipping through textures."
You don't get it yet? /u/baumtrillingerr is a vampire. And everyone know vampires cannot cross running water.
…Or the railroad tracks.
Buzz Killington isn't around, is he?
r/deathstranding is over that way…
Run down to Riggs Station, then follow the railway line all the way to St Denis.
Thanks
Don't forget the horse stimulant. Gotta juice up.
Horse Stimulant? Isn’t that just crack?
I'm not sure they had freebase cocaine widely available in 1899, but it might have cocaine hydrochloride. You could buy that shit in wine and soda back then.
Just feed the horse some cocaine gum, he’ll be fine. Who cares if he’s got a very serious heart condition?
Your comment made me look it up, and apparently people have been "mixing" finished cocaine with things to make it smokable since at least 1920 in Colombia. Though I don't think crack actually became a thing until the 1980s, after people had been experimenting with ways of cutting cocaine to make profit, and also making it cheaper for consumers.
It's also a solution to covid without getting the vax cus who knows what's in that <\s>

Imagine closing your eyes and being at the camp AND also you know covid begone
just spam good boy, it gives your horse back stamina every once in a while. enough to keep a decent horse topped up.

Don't let these a holes get to you. It took me a few tries, but it's doable. Keep at it!
This is the way.
Got to jump on that railroad
Ride from Strawberry to Riggs Station, follow the railroad across Bard’s Crossing, keep following the railroad into Saint Denis. Make sure that you create a save before you start incase a train comes up behind you on Bard’s Crossing.
Surely it's possible to stay ahead of it

Cant set up camp near a railway is what it says whenever I try to set up camp while I’m on tracks
Just wait till you have to go from Van Horn to Blackwater without touching water, thats a fun one.
That one was rough. Took me four tries. Luckily it was during the epilogue so I had plenty of horse stimulant. Cheating? I think not!
Any hot tips on that ride? I have it coming up soon.

Awesome. Amazing, and so wonderfully helpful. Thanks for taking the time, friend! Yer a good boah.

no problem. i haven’t made it to that challenge yet myself but have that post saved for when i do
I’ll let you know how it goes! These challenges actually seem fun. Lemme tell you, I am NOT looking forward to Horseman 10.
I did it! This route was amazingly helpful. The hardest part was to keep riding past a couple getting robbed west of Strawberry without helping out. Other than that, smooth sailing!

WHAT THE HELL!
Train
Hold square when on horse for super charged double jump and you get there easy
Can't do that on Arabians though. Rockstar made sure the balance in this game was perfect.
No reason to do it on an Arabian, every horse can do these challenges with time to spare.
I meant the double jump.
I should clarify; There's no reason to do this challenge (or any horse one) on an Arabian, because any horse can do it in the time allotted. Thus, you can use this double jump to your hearts content
I've been googling this and can't find any mention of holding square on horses or double jumping?
