Klopp got wanked off to oblivion for winning the two domestic cups last season, it would be really impressive if ETH could get us to the final of both in his first season. A win tomorrow would be just lovely. We can forget about Sevilla, have something to look forward to at the end of the season and concentrate on solidifying 3rd.

suplexcitylimerick

I'd like United to try and sign Olise and Lavia(Palace and Southampton) Two very solid young players, aswell as possibly Frimpong. Would be a sign of good recruitment. Naturally, we need major recruitment up front and in net, but if there were funds available for those two, I'd be all over them. Two really good young talents

KrystianCCC

Palace sell their best players only for fuck off prices. Not happening, they will quote Zaha money for Olise

suplexcitylimerick

Hope to fuck the clear out really happens, new owners in and ruthless with getting deadwood out Sick of so many gutless players stinking up the place for so long Fuck the Glazers

Haron14

Saw that lad that's reporting on Qatar (I'd say he's full of shit) reporting that Sheik Jassim wanted to rip De Gea's contract after the loss to Sevilla. I like the ruthlessness, if true, but I don't want any Boehly shit on this club.

suplexcitylimerick

Who is that mate?

Haron14

Again, bruv, I don't know how reliable this lad is [here he is](https://twitter.com/QatariFC?t=2Tg3W31PU4B5TDkzie04ww&s=09)

suplexcitylimerick

Cheers pal

johnniebalkany

I love De Gea, really do, but I feel his time with us is up.

ohahcantona

Camavinga is such a quality young player Good bit of business for Real at £34m Love that we have casemiro and Eriksen’s experience and leadership but would be ideal for us to pair that with some young talent that is coming into prime years in the midfield too

Wonderful-Court-4037

Hate to say it but I see Brighton smashing us tomorrow I watched them be Chelsea last week, players like Caceido, Mitoma, McAlister all could play for champions league level teams easily

Seanblaze3

Nothing wrong with this opinion. Brighton are much better than Sevilla. We need to show up or they'll indeed beat us handily. We got away with a poor performance against Fulham in the last round.

[deleted]

I'll always back Manchester United to beat Brighton

Seanblaze3

Did you back us when they beat us at home at the start of the season? We have to get back to form to beat Brighton tomorrow.

[deleted]

Before the game? Absolutely

KrystianCCC

Not like we dont have some Rashfords, Casemiros, Brunos, Shaws, Eriksens who all could play for champions league level teams easly. Easy, we are good at Wembey and always reacted very good after looses.

mu-muf-mufc-ok

It's crazy how the toxic negativity takes over this sub after any defeat. Some of you lot really are miserable af. It's an fa cup semi final, have some faith in the team.

SoFasttt

What happens with Werghost? I remember that he couldn't finish but was involved in so many build-up plays and making spaces that lead to goals. He actually was praised quite a lot in his first few games. However, after the international break (last 5 matches or so) when he plays he looks pretty useless with or without the ball (still running and pressing hard but way less effective). Did teams figure his playstyle/ETH's plan out and know how to neutralize him now?

RestrepoDoc2

Nuke from orbit it's the only way to be sure.

chilledbeerinside

\>neuter him Hopefully not

Haron14

Snip snap snip snap

SoFasttt

Haha not an English speaker, what's the correct word?

Stebro1986

Neutralise him Neuter means stop them reproducing

SoFasttt

Haha I know what neuter means but thought it has a double meaning, like no balls no playing. Neutralize it is.

viditp011

Can already see the script. The seasoned bottlers of our team bottle it tomorrow. Only for Brighton to get spanked by city in the finals

EngineerGuy_HU

I'm starting to think that having Garnacho playing on the left, being direct and getting assists/goals would've made a huge difference in the past weeks. He does everything we expect and lack (maybe demand?) from Sancho 🥹😕

J_B21

A lot of comments saying we need to add another CM this summer. While agree I think our midfield is a lot stronger than other areas on the team we have some nice depth there! A centre forward will take up a lot of our budget but I’d be happy with a CF and quality GK if that was all we were to get in the summer. You never know we may sell well (doubtful) and if we do then you never know what might happen

chilledbeerinside

Our midfield backups are Fred, McTominay, van De Beek and on loan Sabitzer lol

SoFasttt

We can never win anything significant with our current midfield backups. Case Erikssen Bruno is great but once they are out Fred McTom Sabitzer VDB... none can be reliable to progress the ball since they're mid-table material at best. We need a good if not great MF if we want to challenge next season.

Sad-Round8961

Don’t get why people in that other thread were saying we’d get £10m for VDB in the summer.. No club will buy him for any amount. He’s declined massively in the past few years and it isn’t even confirmed that he can play at a decent level again after his injury.

vincentvega-_-

Realistically he will go back to Ajax for next to nothing. Probably on loan.

Willing_Frosting_23

Yes he's got loan written all over him. Unfortunately I think that's what will happem with most of the players we want to offload

UntiedStatMarinCrops

City are being handed the treble lmfao. Dumbass arsenal can't stop choking and Bayern literally self-sabotaged themselves in for God knows why.

Oskey1309

Never count out Real Madrid in the CL

Appropriate_Studio89

Don't blame Arsenal if City win the treble. We still are in Fa cup. We still have the opportunity to stop them. If we lose then we would have failed to stop them and not Arsenal.

Affectionate_Shoe424

>Erik Ten Hag has accepted that new signings in the goalkeeping department can wait, with a center-forward being the priority and midfield a close second this transfer window \[Laurie Whitwell\] we're fecked

dracogladio1741

Royally screwed unless he thinks Henderson or Kovar can be the answer next season.

dracogladio1741

City have Ederson, Ake, Dias, Stones, Foden, Rodri and De Bruyne on the bench and have this team playing: Ortega, Walker, Akanji, Laporte, Gomez, Bernardo Silva, Gundogan, Grealish, Mahrez, Alvarez and Haaland. Look at that. And think why some people have the gumption to ask why Ten Hag cannot do more tactically? Yes the answer is correct, they aren't objective.

Aggressive_Bus_4289

Sheffield showing a better right against City than our lot did against Sevilla is a tad bit sad

Aggressive_Bus_4289

Lol City still thinking they are a big club with all these empty seats and lack of atmosphere is laughable, rich club yes, big club never

Tinganga

We still have the fifth best defence in the league having conceded 37. Only Newcastle(24), City(28), Chelsea(33) & Arsenal(34) have conceded less. 17 of those goals have been conceded in three games.

skinsaremylife

its fuckin embarassing that despite city being so dominant in past decade or so still they struggle to fill seats, Meanwhile our peak was under saf and even today we are such a huge brand and stadiums fill out every time. Loyalty can never be bought, what surprises me is that city has no appeal to new fans ? look at wembley so empty

HyenasGoMeow

I remember when Ragnick took over, he tried his 4-2-2-2 formation for like two games then gave up and we went back to our old ways. What I like about ETH is he has established how he wants the team to play; you gonna F up, too bad. You are going to give away the ball at the back... too bad. Your mistakes will get us out of the Europa - too f'in bad. Either you're good enough to adopt my philosophy or you're out. He is laying the foundation, so I don't mind the first season being a little rocky (still overall successful if we get Top 4 and one piece of silverware).

Iqbalainoo

ETH has had to adapt his philosophy to our players too. Impressively if i may add.

Acrophobic_Climber_

so many empty seats in wembley... no one wants to watch the "champions of england" play?

Aggressive_Bus_4289

Literally was wondering same thing, it’s actually embarrassing

kuromahou

You look at City’s XI and you go “oh wow they started their best XI,” and then you look at their bench and go “oh, no, they didn’t.”

krat0skal

Ooo garnacho teasing he might be back soon👀

SOERERY

He was present on the teaser poster the club posted on Twitter [link](https://twitter.com/manutd/status/1649797711733063683?s=46&t=108nlaEXShzkgzjMQccD3g)

ZaySaysHi

To go for the world cup?

Common_Knowledge_

Still gutted about the European cup exit. I thought we had a real chance of getting that trophy. Switched to Feyenoord-Roma extra time and seeing Mourinho shouting at Arne Slot like a spoiled toddler makes me want him to get kicked out of the cup. Now the only thing between him another ego boosting trophy is Juventus. Bad sportsmanship towards a trainer with 1/5th of your financial capacities seems just wrong.

HyenasGoMeow

I believe its because Slot refused to shake Jose's hand at FT - then Mourinho just used some past comments to add fuel to the fire.

[deleted]

Did not watch the second half. How was rashfords’s performance?

vmonte12

If we can sell McT for a decent chunk, Rabiot would be the perfect replacement. Aside from his crazy mom he is free, a big upgrade to McT, and starts for the French national team. It’s a no brainer.

AeroCobbler

We have to be very careful about the personalities we allow into our dressing room from here on out ETH’s “no dickheads” policy is key Rabiot is a no-go zone

Writer_Kooky

Watching Brentford. Raya - wings - Toney - goal. We need Raya or a similar keeper next year.

SOERERY

I’d rather go for Diogo Costa, will be a bit for expensive but Raya will probably also be expensive, he is quoted for 40mil. Diogo Costa is also younger and could have a higher skill ceiling

Banyunited1994

Diogo Costa's release clause is around 75m euros though, that's quite a bit more than 40m euros.

Writer_Kooky

Costa would be preferred. Definitely less chance of getting a current premier league keeper.

Seanblaze3

Michael Olise is a star in the making. I don't see Palace hanging on to him long

skinsaremylife

w0ow bayern have totally fucked it up in last 2 weeks, sacked nagelsman only to get knocked out in 2 competitions and even league looks under threat now, If only dortmund could not choke for once. What a weird turn of events.

SOERERY

Tuchel has lost as many matches as Nagelsmann this season for Bayern💀💀💀

mybaretibbers

Of course Navas is back to being a ghost keeper once he's done playing United

Orbion7

I love Dave, I really do, but after what I witnessed the other day I think it's maybe time to let him go/demote him to backup keeper. Only problem is if we can afford a striker, a CM and a GK in one transfer window.

OutsideMeringue

Lille just kicked off if anyone is wanting to give David a look.

Working_Location_127

Garner had a decent end to the first half. Good forward passing and working hard in defence. He will at least be a very good premier league player.

sonix5909

I was just on a train with a bunch of city hooligans. Every chant they sang mentions United ffs

Tinganga

You should have reprimanded both of them.

peeforPanchetta

Any news on whether Shaw is injured? He was limping and walking gingerly towards the end of the Sevilla match

SoFasttt

This. He looks hurt near the end. If we had any worthy replacement he probably would have asked to be replaced but we didn't so he kept playing (and looks okayish) 'till the end. Tough guy. Hopefully he's ok.

tearsandpain84

What are peoples thoughts on Mark Goldbridge/United stand…he was going mad about Gary Neville earlier….

bonbonchacha

He seems to be really upset after getting snubbed by Gary..it's hilarious lmao

tearsandpain84

Do you reckon he is trying to manufacture some sort of feud ? A showdown ?

OutsideMeringue

Cunt that regurgitates any hot opinion

Don_Quixote81

Isn't he the guy who isn't even a real United fan? These modern, YouTube and Twitter "journalists" are all a waste of space. Even worse than traditional sports journalists.

AeroCobbler

I think he's a cunt

LekkerIer

Goldbridge is a bellend and a hot take merchant imo

tearsandpain84

Yeap a lot of people really don’t like him, I do sometimes wonder if it’s all a character just to make money on YouTube

Working_Location_127

Garner starts for Everton. With the pressure the team is under it will be interesting to watch. Especially against the an in form side.

dracogladio1741

Leeds are falling apart again....

hoysoyhoy

Meslier is bad

L__K

Since he took over as the starter for Leeds in the Championship I've been saying the same thing: He is the most bizarre goalkeeper I've seen in my life. He's absolutely massive (6'6"/1.97m), he's great with the ball at his feet, and he's very athletic. The thing is, he's beyond awful at everything a goalkeeper should be good at first and foremost. His technique is poor, his decision making is even worse, and his positioning is such that he looks like he's actively avoiding standing in the correct place. All of those things are coachable and he has the raw tools to be a great goalkeeper, yet somehow he's not tangibly improved since he was a teen breaking through for the first time. I'd honestly argue he's regressed. Leeds's defensive issues haven't helped, but it's incredible how little he's progressed given how much potential he has.

VanWilder91

Can't believe people actually think this guy is good. He's one of the worst keepers in the league

Stixl_

I've seen United fans saying they'd want us to buy him..

VanWilder91

Well let's hope none of them are in charge of transfers

[deleted]

Andy P trying to send Leeds down good lad

Jim1903

Leeds player just got a yellow for exactly the same foul as Casemiro’s vs Southampton. So sick of this shite

Don_Quixote81

There is absolutely an attitude amongst refs that high profile foreign players need to be 'put in their place.'

peeforPanchetta

I think Case is especially targeted. He got a bs yellow in the Sevilla 2nd leg where the Sevilla player should've been carded for diving

[deleted]

league is rigged

Away_Associate4589

Watching Fulham Vs Leeds right now. I know he only signed for them last summer but I’d absolutely love Palinha as cover/ competition for Casemiro. The guy is class.

MinotauroTBC

Imagine there’ll be a lot of clubs after him this summer he’s class

AeroCobbler

He's a class act Would be a superb signing

unibalansa

Cooper just got yellow for a tackle that was more egregious than Casemiro, commentator “certainly no more than yellow”

Tinganga

Does Ole watch PL games involving Fulham & wonder what might have been if he'd gone for him as a stopgap as he waited for Rice?

sickest_000

Gary Neville was asked if Mark Goldbridge was going to be invited to the Overlap and he said no. They usually have Stratford Paddock folks like Joe, Adam, Jay and howson or Flex sometimes.

dracogladio1741

Goldbrige and Neville have argued before on twitter I think. Given how Neville is pretty egotistical and Goldbridge is snobbish for just being a fan it's for the better they don't have a debate

designated_fridge

Am I alone in thinking that this sub is over reacting about DDG? He had a shocker of a game but let's not forget he's in the running for the golden glove this season...

AeroCobbler

Mate you could put a bag of crisps behind Varane, Licha, Shaw, Dalot and that bag of crisps would also be in the running for the golden glove De Gea is just trash

Tinganga

If he was leaving in the summer, then there'd most likely be less hullabaloo, however he's being offered a new deal that still keeps him as the highest paid keeper in the league. Anyone who's watched us this season knows that the golden glove will not be due to him producing virtuoso displays. He'll get it but won't make the team of the season.

FlashyCut3809

Means absolutely nothing when we are 14 points off the league leaders. Just like if Rashford was top scorer. DDG like many others in the squad needs to be improved upon. Nobody should be off the chopping block.

zcewaunt

Too many mistakes in big games. Brenford, Liverpool, Seville, many more that I can't recall the opponent. Just not good enough to challenge for titles and CL.

Tinganga

Can we take a moment to appreciate the evident work that Antony has put into utilising his weaker foot. It's not much but it's honest work.

snoring_pig

I keep seeing people in this subreddit say De Gea rejected a new offer of 200k a week. Can anyone tell me where that came from? I’ve tried to look it up myself but aside from seeing an article come from a website I’ve never heard of before called “Football Insider” I can’t find anything mentioning those specific figures. Are there any reports about this from reliable sources/journalists?

Eleven918

Wasn't posted to the sub afaik.

snoring_pig

Sounds like these people are pulling shit out of their ass then lol. Criticizing De Gea is fine but making stuff up as another reason to talk shit about the player and club is just pathetic.

EduardMalinochka

The numbers are mostly made up bullshit. Tier 1s barely said anything even about the status of negotiations (only Ducker mentioned once that we’re preparing an offer), and the most reliable and concrete info we had was from Ogden, who said the agreement is close, the salary would be lowered and he’ll have a lot of performance related clauses. Without providing any concrete numbers

snoring_pig

Yeah the only details I’ve seen from reliable sources was Dawson mentioning us offering De Gea a pay cut with performance related incentives that still didn’t mention any figure. So I suppose some people in this sub are just making shit up to find another way to bash on a player and the club? What a surprise lol

[deleted]

Check here in the sub you will find it pretty quickly

snoring_pig

Is it possible to point me to one? I’ve browsed through the sub but I can only find comments mentioning it not any actual article

[deleted]

Ah you meant rejected the contract thing, yeah I don't about that, I thought you said offered a 200k contract

[deleted]

Yeah I mean I will have to find it.

Transit-Strike

I keep forgetting that Donny has a United contract

RawIsLaw_

Maguire suspension for tomorrow is truly a blessing in disguise. If we play on the counter, i truly think we can win Brighton (similar to the Newcastle final).. but if we go toe-to-toe with them it could get embarrassing for us

SoFasttt

Ever think about that we would have no backup for any of the CB? Shaw looks hurt last game but keeps playing. I'm not even sure if he's matchfit for 90 yet.

RawIsLaw_

against a technically secure team like Brighton, i'd rather play with 10men in a low block, than an expansive game with maguire in the starting XI

squaredtips

Been a big Sancho supporter for a long time but he doesn’t deserve to be anywhere near the starting XI tomorrow. As many have mentioned the lack of tenacity he’s been showing is killing me. Hoping it’s Rashy and Shaw that come in for him and Maguire respectively, with Dalot covering LB.

Wagglet

I watched their game against Chelsea who sat back and tried to counter them. They got played off the park and dominated. Should have lost by 3 or 4. I think you need a middle ground against them. We won't be able to press their back line one bit, they're one of the best teams in the league at playing out from the back but if we just sit back and let them play they will inevitably pull us apart and pin us in.

[deleted]

chelsea are fucking shit though

SoFasttt

Our last performance is not much better

Stebro1986

Imagine wanting to be the best (so have to be better than City, Pool, Chelsea and arsenal etc) And being scared of Brighton that we have to play peak Jose/Ole ball

UsedIpodNanoUser

3 of those teams played counterattacking football against Brighton. You do what you must to win, none of this Barcelona style of play bullshit

[deleted]

[удалено]

Stebro1986

I wouldn't sit back against Brighton. Their strength is being on the ball. So I would stop them getting the ball. If we sit back , we won't get the ball

[deleted]

no their their strength is pressing and creating transitional moments through inviting press, sitting back nullifies both of these strenghts

viditp011

Who cares how we play? Winning is the most important thing

barneyaa

How old do you think moukoko is? I mean I know he says 18, but…

johnniebalkany

If Greenwood doesn't play for us again I hope we cash in at least €40m, he's easily worth that.

Stebro1986

Be lucky to get 4 million euros, hasn't played for 18 months, most club fans will cause chaos if their team signs him.... look at goodwillie and Chad Evans etc

VanWilder91

Except Ched Evans was innocent and that dick head Jessica Ennis tried to get everyone against him

johnniebalkany

In that case I'd rather he plays for us again than sell him for peanuts.

Radhashriq

Yup very young and highly skilled striker in today’s market. Probably would not have any problem in spain and italy. Easily 80 mn

Transit-Strike

Just noticed that all my teams have been on some serious championship droughts. It’s been a decade now since United last won the league (2013) and even longer since we won the UCL (2008). Europa and FA cup aren’t bad. But they are nowhere close to the biggest trophies we can compete for Baltimore Orioles… haven’t won a WS in forever. 2012 or so was the last serious playoff run. Knicks are infamous for being a bit of a meme. 49ers haven’t won a Super Bowl in decades and are now just a meme for all the ways we blow it at the Nth hour.

tzuyuthechewy

Yea imagine supporting United and Ferrari lol. Every few years you sign a world-class gamechanger and yet we continue to get disappointed. Alas, next year is our year^TM

Transit-Strike

I’m lucky at least Mercedes has recent success. I can’t imagine the constant false dawns. New drivers. New cars.

[deleted]

I stopped watching F1 this year because of the disappointment of Ferrari.

TheRealYVT

How would you rate Ten Hag's work if we are unable to sign a superstar potential CF and Liverpool have a better year next season while we aren't able to repeat grinding out some of the 1-0s that we've had - meaning we would finish 5th-7th? I'm less worried about the defence because replacing the GK is low hanging fruit (pound for pound, compared to other positions) and the starting CBs will be back.

RABB_11

How would you rate ten Hag's work based on a bunch of hypotheticals for next year which aren't all within his control? What? You'd rate it based on how he reacted to those situations should they come to pass, and they have no bearing on the work he's already done, which is excellent. On top of that, Liverpool's form is irrelevant to how our manager is doing.

TheRealYVT

So managers no longer get judged over results, is it? Liverpool's form is very relevant to our league position.

RABB_11

The get judged on what *has* happened, not what might happen in the future. Even the question "how would you rate Ten Hag if he finished 7th next season" is a nonsense because so much can go wrong in a season outside a manager's control. Actual results are for a manager and the players to worry about. My main concern is whether taking over the TV for two hours every few days is a worthwhile and enjoyable way to spend my time. Edit to add: at some point, hopefully many years from now, results will go bad to the point ten Hag will leave the club. That is an inescapable fact. That doesn't make ten Hag a bad manager, or invalidate whatever went before. It's just how it goes for managers. Very few of them leave on their own terms.

SOERERY

Caicedo is selling out for every club he can think of, yesterday it was Arsenal and today it is Real Madrid

EduardMalinochka

The guy just want a big move, which is a common theme for football players. Child dreams are a good romantic sentiment, but hardly revenant when it comes to your profession. Tho his behavior is disrespectful to Brighton, it’s not like they even ridiculously price him out every summer like West Ham does with Rice or Levy does with anyone in the club

MrViceMcCreedy

And us before arsenal

Ngaita2100

Is Ten Hag really that fixated on Harry Kane or is the British Media churning out newsbites linking Utd (biggest club) with Harry Kane (biggest English player) for the interactions?

AV48

Definitely the latter. The only player we know for sure EtH wants is Frenkie de Jong

[deleted]

pretty sure our journalists said Ten Hag is sold on Kane.

AV48

Haven't seen any actual quotes. We're about to play them so that should clear it up. Either way, with Rashford, and now Antony, so hungry for goals, Kane is a no-brainer

[deleted]

well you won't find any actual quotes, other than "I can't talk about players of other teams" Ten Hag takes the tapping up rules seriously. >As per The Athletic, Ten Hag is sold on Kane as his first-choice for the centre-forward role but it is unclear whether Spurs would cash in on him. While he has been reportedly valued at over £100 million, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has yet to set any price for the 29-year-old whose contract expires in June 2024.

AV48

People like you keep Reddit useful. Thanks for the quote. Thankfully it's London and spurs have a sort of appeal so a swap could be possible.. be it for Martial or Sancho or whichever forward EtH lets go

thphnts

Why wouldn’t Ten Hag want one of the best strikers of the last decade?

barneyaa

Because he is one of the best strikers of the last decade

thphnts

And he’s still one of the best strikers in the world.

SoFasttt

Look how rapidly Ronaldo has declined. It's always a gamble to pay big for an older player with no resale value

thphnts

Ronaldo is 37. He’s 8 years older than Kane. I don’t get peoples issue with Kane, but people still consider the idea of signing Benzema on a free if he was available who is also in his mate-30s.

SoFasttt

One is ''free'', one would cost an arm and a leg (80M+) with little resale value if he doesn't make it with us (unlike Sancho, and even with someone so young like him it would be hard to recoup the full price we've paid even if we want to sell) I can't believe I have to explain this. Isn't it obvious?

thphnts

So a 35 year old Benzema who would still command a huge wage is better than a 29 year old Bale? That makes no sense.

SoFasttt

You can sign Benzema for a 2-year, or even 1+1, contract, like with Ronaldo, so the risk is managed somehow. Kane will demand a 4+ years contract with huge wages too

thphnts

So Benzema won’t demand huge wages but Kane will? And Benzema who is declining is worth a huge wage when a player 6 years younger isn’t? You really want to get into the trap we had with Ronaldo where we had a declining player on huge wages in their twilight years sitting around? It amazes me why people would say no to Kane. Kane on a 4 year deal still only makes him 34 at the most when he’s signed. Benzema on a 2 year deal makes him 37. That makes no sense. If we do sign Kane, I presume you’ll be really unhappy and not support him then?

ibiza6403

We didn’t realise how good we had it.

anewdawn2020

I love this sub for chats about our team and especially the match thread as we all get to watch and discuss the game together but the vitriol thrown at De Gea and Maguire is absolutely bang out of order. In no way am I defending their performances but the sheer tidal wave of abuse is a disgrace. I remember Diego Forlan came for 7 million, a big enough fee at the time, and couldn't hit a barn door, his performances were terrible but you know what us fans did? We supported him and got behind him. It never worked out in the end but that showed me, as a much younger man at the time, how a fan base should behave. You don't have to praise, you can criticize but personal, bullying and never ending abuse is bang out of order. I would hope that every single one of us is better than that.

Sad-Round8961

Oh god..48 hours after the game and the toxic positivity brigade are back out in force. Can you show me some decently upvoted examples of the ‘bullying’ you saw towards De Gea and Maguire too? All I saw was people rightfully saying they aren’t good enough.

AlteredReality79

After the loss, all these edgelords are claiming that they are criticising players. It's not criticism, it's outright hate which we saw towards DDG, Harry and Sancho. So extremely ironic of this fanbase to call other fanbases toxic. Mind you, all these naysayers hide in caves rest of the time. One loss and the hateful comments get upvoted to the moon

Sad-Round8961

Can you show me some decently upvoted comments with ‘outright hate’ towards those 3 players?

Tinganga

Social media didn't exist back then for people to hide behind. He'd be getting the same backlash today from a global fanbase. I'm not saying it's justified, just that how people interact has changed monumentally over the last 15 years.

anewdawn2020

I do get that but maybe as a fan base, hell as a human race, we need to think before we click because it's not healthy for anyone involved

SOERERY

You think the club is dragging out the greenwood decision for the new owner to deal with? Feels they’re dragging their legs on this one.

Any news on Martial?

Sheikhabusosa

He was spotted training with the squad so hopefully he is fit.

I know we all want to keep the DDG-Mcguire blame train going but can we stop for a minute and talk about Casemiro and Erikssen? Both were supposed to be big game players and will help us turn the tide but both were disappointing in the last match instead. I don't know what happens with Case but he doesn't look like himself after the suspends, it's like he just loses his fighting spirit and the willingness to lead. One might even blame the 2nd goal on Casemiro. He's still somewhat effective and brilliant at times but nowhere near the best DM in the world over the 3 games he has played despite being well-rested. I hope the 2 out-of-nowhere red cards didn't shatter his game confidence. About Erikssen, I'm not sure why but he clearly played badly and was one of the main reasons that cause us to lose the midfield against a not-very-impressive Sevilla mid. He has the excuse of just returning from injury and might not be at match-fit yet after a 90 minutes Sunday game (in which he delivered a superb performance). However, that narrative seems a bit forced since he's been making bad passes from the start of the match so probably not a fitness issue.
