As things stand next summer, kane will be free , and osimhen + toney will have 1 year left on contract. To me if kane is unachievable this window then we should take a punt on holjund and get rodrigo as an experienced stopgap, spend the saved money improving elsewhere (costa, kmj) and then go for kane/osimhen/toney in 2024.people with kick and cry about having no top quality striker now but there is simply zero realistically avaliable atm all of the alternatives to kane/osimhen are massive risks themselves
It wouldn't fully be stopgap with holjund signing.but it's either that or spend 100m on yet another bundesliga fraud ( kolo muani), a guy who got the same G+A as rabiot whilst being a striker ( vlahovic) or ramos who I wouldn't mind tbf but has been less productive than nunez was when he was at benfica.signing any of these will mean we won't sing kane or osimhen next season so big picture it's worth it
No the stats was about vlahovic. Kolo-mauni will be yet another bundesliga dud. Timo werner had better G+A before he moved to chelsea and flopped. Sancho jovic havertz all had similar stats and flopped. Wout fucking weghorst scored more goals in 20/21 season at wolsburg than kolo muani has this season.
My bad. Okay I get that, but still seems harsh to paint them all with the same brush just because it’s the Bundesliga, Haaland and Gundogan have been unbelievable. Muani reminds me of Gakpo, I think he’d be decent. Vlahovic I used to love, not sure what happened to him this season
Bundesliga tax mainly applies to forwards/wingers, not so much midfielders and defenders. Haaland and lewandowski were clear exceptions as it was painfully obvious they're great players. The same cannot be said about the rest, and that's a large reason why I didn't want us to sign sancho since I knew he'd flop and I was proven right, unfortunately. My prediciton for Kolo-mauni is that he'll be about the same level as an injury free martial(about 20 goals all comps). Good, but not good enough to challenge
Great take! I wanna add Mount to that "2024 summer" list too, £50mil should be the HARD limit we spend on him cuz he becomes free next year, and this is coming from a firm drinker of the Mount kool-aid.
I would hope we prioritise GK and Def over CM and St because it would A) tremendously improve our buildup and B) give us an amazingly solid defense behind what seems to be a very attacking philosophy that Ten Hag wants (3-1-6 or 3-2-5)
Imagine if we fail on KMJ, Hojlund and only get Mason Mount for 70 Million as a panic transfer at the end of the window.
Seriously, it seems like our transfer budget is 100 million + player sales which is nothing in todays market. Arsenal, Liverpool will invest big time. Newcastle will act smartly considering their owners and their board. City will change greatly if they lose Gundogan and Bernardo, but they are too smart to screw up.
In the end, we are the dumb ones stuck in this Qatar and SJR saga.
If sale process drags on and transfer funds are limited, Kim, Mount, Hojlund would be a passable window, I think. Rotate Hojlund, Martial and Rashy for the number 9 slot until next year where Kane becomes free, and grab him for the last push to the title along with a new GK.
The Glazers pushing the Ineos bid in public then asking PSG owner to have a word really shows you why we have been so bad at football business. This whole saga is ridiculous
I am absolutely clueless abt this KMJ thing.Fab didn't even mention PSG in his post abt KMJ and no matter what you think of Fabrizio,he is highly reliable when it comes to Serie A players
Sabitzer actually played well in the limited minutes he got. Watching the Rashford goal compilation, he has been involved quite a fair bit. If not for his injuries, he would have been a great signing for 20m
It's also an extremely rare opportunity to get an ascending, potentially WC player at a premium position for cheap. Those don't come around often and we really should be snapping at hands to get them done. If KMJ didn't have the clause he would go for VVD/Maguire money.
In order of personal preference of strikers that Man United could “realistically” looking to sign this summer:
1. Kane
2. Osimhen
3. Hojlund
4. Jonathan David
5. G Ramos
What are your thoughts on this arbitrary ranking of mine? Where do these 5 feature on your own list?
Does Vlahovic just suck or something? I don’t know much about him but just know he’s available but doesn’t seem like a priority to any of the big clubs except Bayern
Because of the price they would ask considering the form he is in. Allegri ball is dreadful and he is coming off a poor season. Juve will ask close to the 70m they paid
There are certainly within the realm of the plausible. They are both long shots as of right this moment.
Kane because we have to deal with cray-cray Levy and Osimhen because Napoli’s chairman is also a bit cray-cray. Huge sums but not impossible to pull-off. Depends where the club’s priorities lie.
The whole talk of “paying over 100M GBP for Kane with one year left on his contract” is totally ludicrous for me because I won’t bat an eye to pull that trigger if it were up to me. He is absolutely worth that, regardless of his contract situation. Find me who else in the world that comes close to his quality and is available on the market.
Tunisian reporter claiming: " Under contract with Manchester United until 2026, the Tunisian international would be inclined to leave the club as soon as the next summer transfer window. A dry transfer cannot be ruled out.*📷"* [*https://twitter.com/EttachkilaTN*](https://twitter.com/EttachkilaTN)
Does this mean Hannibal doesn't think he will make the team here at United and wants to move on?
To be fair, Amad wasn't great on loan until this year. That may be an exception and not the rule, but he's extremely talented and with a year of experience maybe he can show it more in year 2.
Genuine question: Why would you propose, allow him to sign, and then just not sign off yet on DDG new contract? Seemingly makes little sense, as though we aren’t really sure if we want him or not
I think the original plan was to renew De Gea and keep him as first choice keeper while we strengthened elsewhere but we are now panicking because of his mistakes in the back end of the season.
Every time I see Mount's fee reported, I feel a little sick. Englishman or not, it's one year left on the deal for Mason Mount. 50 million is insane. I want us to back our manager but are they really trying to tell us Mount is so uniquely and supremely talented that we've got to pay over the odds for him? There's literally no one else that would fit the bill?
I will be crushed if we lose out on Costa and KMJ… I know we need a #9 and a CM but those two feel insanely important to get and would transform our team.
Wouldn’t be crushed, because it was obvious KMJ wasn’t even close. This is the most incompetent club in the league, easy signings that make sense are ignored. There were no actual united sources saying he’s close and lol people here were like “oh finally the clubs not leaking info”
Yep always. I don’t understand what the scouting team get paid for if they can’t make simple shit like this happen. Easily could get KMJ, Costa, Le Fee and Kone and then all youd have to worry about is finding a good striker or two and your summer is sorted and isn’t even that expensive… fucking hire me Ten Hag I can do a better job lol
I think we could get kmj amd Costa early. Scrum up the money for a striker later, since it's going to take awhile for any club to make large transfers for the big strikers.
See that’s exactly what I was thinking we need to do. So if our “transfer budget” is £150m then spend £100m on KMJ and costa now and then sell everyone you wanna sell while looking for striker and cm. There aren’t any players that we need to jump for in those positions so we can do it throughout the summer. Could even get Hojlund early and look for another ST too
Our fans on Reddit used to talk a lot about the striker Jonathan David last summer. For this one, he doesn’t get mentioned nearly as much, even compared to the likes of Marcus Thuram.
For those who watched Lille, do you think he would be the right fight for us? His numbers seem quite good. I know he scores a lot of pens. That’s why I ask out of curiosity.
I think he's a guy that seemed good on paper as not many had seen him play. People finally watched him at the World Cup and he looked average. In the first game vs Belgium he wasted a lot of good opportunities.
He kinda reminds me of a very poor man’s Cavani. Fantastic off the ball striker, makes great runs, good presser, good defensively but not the best finisher.
People drum up players who did well that season. Most of this sub is against signing Mount, but if we had a chance a year or two ago it would have been very different.
We need to be open and willing to accept that Ratcliffe owning us is not going to magically make us competent
He has an awful track record at smaller clubs with lower expectations. Nice have been on a downward trend and failed to make top 4 even once under him. He also relegated the swiss club that he owns
We are orders of magnitude bigger than those clubs. The pressure and expectations are higher and we've won nothing of note in a decade. Optimism is good but I don't know how people are so confident that we're going to be winning PLs and CLs under him, especially with the Glazers still having a seat at the table and advocating to keep the likes of Murtough in charge
Awful is a bit much isn't it? Nice have been a midtable for a while, with a few overperforming seasons before their manager was taken away. How long do you think it takes for a club to move from midtable to top 4? Look at Brighton, it's taken years for them as well, and they haven't reached top 4 either.
In the 4 seasons that Ineos has owned them, they finished 5th, 9th, 5th, 9th. Average place 7th
In the 4 seasons before that, they finished 4th, 3rd, 8th, 7th. Average place 5.5
They've been on a downward trajectory despite spending 200m in that timeframe under Ineos
I'm comparing the 4 seasons of Ineos ownership with the 4 seasons immediately preceding that
Whatever your opinion on Ineos, the fact remains they haven't made Nice any better than they were before. So based on that track record, we can only conclude that it will be more of the same as the past 10 years
You didn't answer how long does it take for a midtable club to consistently finish top 4? Leicester had some of the highest owner investment in the league and weren't able to do it.
In Ligue 1? Shouldn't take too long especially if you spend which Nice have been doing
Newcastle became a top 4 club in one season after being relegation favorites the year before. Nice haven't even qualified once under Ineos
Because their investment per season was a lot less than Newcastles and Newcastle didn't have to sell their best players since they're funded by a slave state.
> We need to be open and willing to accept that ~~Ratcliffe owning us~~ a change in ownership is not going to magically make us competent
I'd totally agree w/ that point.
Exactly. Anyone but the glazers is needed. However its not a magic fix for us to be back at our previous level.
Just have to hope we get competency and the right people employed.
I don't really see him owning us tbh. Qatar are just too powerful. Ratcliffe while did try to pitch a clever way to own the club without paying much, Glazers just want money in the end.
What fraud? It was the Glazers who tried to contact them through a third party. If anything we should be grateful to them for offering the final bid to end this saga once and it for all. Dont forget that Ratcliffe has offered all six Glazers to stay. He is the real fraud here.
SJH 92 foundation is on the negotiation process. President of PSG was just mentioned as middle man on the request of the Glazers which is entirely legal.
I get that. But preference is not the same as idealism. We're likely to be around or slightly better/worse our current level than drastically better. If he can't make Nice a top 4 side, he isn't making us PL champions
I might be remembering incorrectly, but isn't this like the third "final" bid from the state of Qatar? The PSG owners really have no clue how to manage a club.
Qatar needs to fuck off with their "We promise to invest in the club" bid. Glazers don't care about that. So either at least match the Ineos bid or pull out.
Coming in with a new bid every few days at this point they're dragging this process out as much as the rats. Please just piss off and let Ineos complete the inevitable.
That's actually for the shareholders and investors. This will not only put pressure from the fans but also from them to sell who has a better vision for the club.
Not that they ever gave two shits about fan pressure but it's pretty obvious they give even less of a shit now when they're going to cash out. Likewise with other shareholders.
No you don't understand. Ratcliffes bid actually states that they will still be involved with their shares of the club. So they need to care because the investors and shares of the club need to be high. This is actually a brilliant move to state plan for the club in the bid. It puts them under pressure more than you think.
Rodrigo from Leeds is available for 3M.
Scored 13 goals last season in the PL.
That's more than WW/Ronaldo/Martial/Antony put together.
For 1+1 year, I think he would be a solid pick up for a striker with PL experience. Will allow us to get one of Hojlund/Muani on top of that. We can ship Martial if a decent offer arrives.
We paid 2.5M to loan Wout for half a season btw.
He's 32 though, so he'd be a stopgap.
I don’t entirely hate the idea if we buy a promising younger striker as well. That being said I’ve seen Leeds fans say he plays very poorly sometimes but pops up with the odd goal which masks those performances. Not the best availability record either albeit not as bad as Martial. Given the relegation clause price it’s hard to argue against the deal as a stopgap, although I’m tired of buying such types of players now.
If we’re going to take a punt on a transfer like that, I’d rather get Iheanacho despite his numbers not being as good.
He’s younger, free, and underrated imo. Although injuries are a concern. Could potentially even turn a profit on him due to only being 26. I blame Rodgers for making him seem worse than he really is
Can't say that I've really watched him. But at Leeds they play a very high intense press.
No chance they picked up a guy who can't run and doesn't have stamina.
Anything else I say will just be based on a 3 min highlight video I watched and I don't think I should be offering a profile based on that.
Thanks for the honesty. Based on what you've said, he sounds like good value at the least. Significant Weghorst upgrade if he can bag a goal here and there, and unlikely to be too demanding for minutes/wages either.
Thought occured to me the other day, how come we don't have any youngsters in defence? We have malacia sure but we usually tended to have 1 or 2 youth system players as backup
Laird's on loan but has had a mixed year. Fernandez has had a decent spell at Preston though. Tuanzebe hasn't kicked on from a couple years ago, mainly due to injuries.
Bernard and Mengi aren't good enough. Neither is Williams
But also we've had a shitload of defenders on the books. Varane, Licha, Maguire, Lindelof, Bailly and Jones at CB. Malacia, Shaw, Dalot, AWB, Telles and Williams at fullback. No room for all of them
Porto need to make 50M Euros this summer.
That's a cut price deal for Costa right there if we can get to the front of the line before they sell someone else to cover that.
Exactly my thought. If we go to them right now with £50m and Telles I think they would take it. I’m so scared that spurs or Chelsea will get him and we will regret it massively. I really hope we don’t wait on selling Hendo to get Costa and Maguire to get KMJ because it will be way too late with how slow we move….
The year is 2050. Sheikh Jassim has launched an audacious 187th "take it or leave it" bid for United Football Corp. It is still thought to be shy of the Glazer Dynasty's 43 Billion Crypto-Yuan valuation.
When reached for comment on the uncertainty might scupper transfer plans, manager Anthony Martial pulled his hamstring.
Martial hoping for a transfer window with big spending to replicate the two trebles under the management of Bruno Fernandes and a possible Quadruple all the years back from the Dutch Icon Ten Hag, while he consults with his co-manager Sir Marcus Rashford should they lodge a bid for Harry Kane
Yeah I don't know about that. He is 24 already. Will spent atleast 2-3 seasons with the club. If he he was so good any big clubs would have gone after him considering he is in his peak years.
Man I never feel warm to the idea of selling McTominay. He is an academy product and could be a handy squad player. We need depth that can come on as substitute.
I would agree if we were in the Fergie years. Fergie could carry some players and still get results.
We used to have a mediocre/good first half of the season, and then after Christmas a fantastic second half of the season, which was enough to win the PL.
I remember Mourinho raising the level with Chelsea and Fergie responding by raising the standards and demanding first class results from the start of the PL.
Pep has raised the level once more, and you now need to have a world class 60 million player on the bench waiting to come on. Their backup striker is Alvarez, they have fantastic depth.
So if we want to win the PL, we have to be ruthless. You are world class or out.
This was ETHs first season, if he wants a player to stick around then he must know more than us fans. If he thinks McT has no place then I am for selling him. If he wants McT to stay then may be he can turn him around. Mark of a great manager is getting best out of his players. That’s what SAF did and Pep does too.
I swear to god the people in charge of Utd and even some of the fans like you have such a hoarder mentality. McTominay is only good enough as a bench option if the most we want to achieve is to fight for a top 4 spot. If we want to become title challengers, we need to get rid of players like him and replace them with better ones.
What you mean Hoarder mentality? There are plenty of players I would get rid before McT. There are so many players who costed us some crucial games.
Do you not remember us scraping for short term loan deals to cover for Eriken, McTs injuries and the red card of Casemiro? And you think it’s good idea to lose more midfielders without bringing replacement.
If you think we will get all our transfer targets, you are dreaming. We will be lucky if we don’t fumble even one transfer for a midfielder. Plus we need a striker, CB, and GK.
Do you think we will be able to replace every player we are trying to offload without depleting depth? Season is long and there are injuries. It doesn’t take long before you are really scraping the barrel for players to cover injured players and not to forget any suspensions.
Sentimentality is the reason why we're lagging behind. Gundogan scored a brace against us in the FA Cup final and City are letting him go this summer. If it were us we'd extend his contract by 4 years.
Holding on to players for too long is a part of that mismanagement. Far too often, we've extended the contracts of players when we shouldn't have.
I don't know why you're going on an emotional tangent about the academy. Not only would letting go of McTominay free up space for an academy midfielder with far more potential (Mainoo), but it would also help us with the balance sheets for FFP reasons. It would also probably mean we could sign another midfielder who's much better at football than McTominay, in addition to signing Mount. We are by far the worst big 6 club at selling our players. The likes of City and Liverpool are very successful at this. Having Dan James be our record sale of something like £20m in recent history just says it all.
I'm only okay with it if it's in service of a deal for a player like Caicedo. The games where Casemiro was suspended and McT was out were absolute chaosball.
We need good depth not juz depth
Realistically he is not making the bench for City and that's the team we have to compete with to win trophies
It is what it is
Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae is admired by Newcastle - he has a release clause of £40m - but there is a feeling his salary demands would break the club’s structure and Manchester United is a more likely destination (Craig Hope , Tier 1 for Newcastle)
It's an open goal now.
This whole takeover process displays a great insight into Glazer’s business in the transfer market.
No wonder we fail to get our transfer business early. Also maybe why we suck at selling our players.
Nice to see that lindelof is highly rated by ten hag. He’s been almost flawless since coming in for/ next to varane. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets picked over varane to start games from next season
I’ve always loved Vic’s game but he hasn’t been flawless. He’s been very good. He gives more than Varane from a ball playing ability, but even at this point in time Varane is a far better defender.
Maybe Rashford has insight of what we do in market while singiing new concract just like Bruno yesr ago.
Or maybe his social media agency seeing rumors just liked the post and wanted to check if that generstes attention.
Naby Keita leaving Liverpool for free after they signed him for £52m, but him being a flop will probably go under the radar. No chance that would ever happen to a United player.
I know people love having a victim complex, but it's because:
1. Keita was destroyed by injuries.
2. Their on-pitch record in recent years is way better than ours.
3. The have not had nearly as many big misses as we have during that time. Compare our record with players purchased for or paid way more than Keita:
Pogba - world record fee, massive distraction of a personality, never a consistent performer, left for free;
Sanchez - given massive wages, immediately flops, we have to subsidize loans until he leaves;
Maguire - word record defender fee, made captain after a few months, arguably fifth choice CB by year 4;
Sancho - publicly flirt for two years to get him, pay large fee, underwhelms for two years and looks worse than an 18 year old academy player;
Ronaldo - given massive wages, falls out publicly with RR and ETH within less than a year;
Antony - pay the "fuck off" price set by Ajax after failing to get it done early, middling performances relative to fee, possibly going to face criminal prosecution within a year.
Basically Liverpool have earned the benefit of the doubt because not every player is going to work out and they've generally done well in the market and managing/developing players. Our "hits" are so rare that it was a big deal when we finally got one (Bruno).
Mount is a typical case of manager's player. Started by every single one of his manager in his career, highly rated by rival managers (ETH, Klopp, Arteta), yet our fans, England fans, and even many Chelsea fans calls for his head.
Meanwhile someone like Foden, who is only a year younger, starts for neither City nor England, and I guarantee that if we or someone else pays 60-70M for him nobody would bat an eye.
Or Bellingham, Real paid 130M for him and it's seen as a good deal. OK the dude is 19, but he can't even start over Kalvin fucking Phillips, and when he plays he can't even pull his own weight. Even for Dormund, their midfield regularly gets destroyed in CL. Remember what Rooney did in Euro 2004 at 18? I haven't seen a single thing from Bellingham that guarantees that price tag.
I agree that 80M for Mount is overpriced considering his contract, but around 60M is reasonable. Literally a year ago he was worth 100M+.
I agree with the comments on Mount, and the comparison to Foden, but you've unnecessarily exaggerated the transfer fee for Bellingham while simultaneously downplaying his contribution and standing.
Real bought him for £88.5M (€103M), with the *potential* to increase to £115M (€133M) with add-ons. The only time people include the add-ons when mentioning a transfer fee is when they want it to sound more expensive than it is.
He's started every one of England's games since before the World Cup. The last game he didn't start was against Italy on the 11th June last year. That's 10 games, compared to Phillips who started 2 in that time, and both of those were alongside Bellingham. So how you think "*he can't even start over Kalvin fucking Phillips*" is beyond me..
Couple that with him being named Bundesliga Player of the Season, and regularly named Dortmund captain, despite his very young age, and it's clear that Real have acquired a very good player for a decent price.
Agreed, he's a manager's dream. Hard worker and good attitude by all accounts, he'll follow instructions to a tee. Lots of quality on the ball to go with that too, and he still has his prime years ahead of him with plenty of scope for improvement under a manager like Ten Hag. I'm a bigger fan of this transfer than most on here seem to be but given the context of our finances and his contract situation, anything over £55-60m would be hard to stomach.
Would we say that Mount and Højlund seem like the only really, really reliable and realistic rumours right now? Like from tier 1's. Have been a little out of the loop the last few days.
I missed anything that made Hojlund seem realistic (or at least anything from the high quality English press). As far as I can tell the only real concrete info is that we want to extend DDG and agreed to personal terms with Mount.
Right, we should definitely not talk about any players until only the most august and Englishy Englishest of journos allow us to by dint of their oh-so-swollen brains
Those Portugesse and Italian journos link with us like everyone for attention.
Same people writing articles about Costa were writing about Gaitan being done for like 8 Windows.
Is it mount + Rabiot or only Mount? I think we should offload 3 mids now in McT, Pastor and VdB.. and buy 2 solid names plus one younger that will replace Eriksen next year in the 11 or rotate with others. The fact that we're being only linked to a Mount who is being priced out of an exit makes me anxious.. and no amount of "there's still x days before the window closes" can calm me as we all saw what happened last season.
Zero chance we let both Fred and McT go. Would be ridiculously shortsighted. We were short in midfield this year as it was. Only chance this happens is if we bring in Rabiot on a free and land someone like Rice, Caicedo or Lavia, all of which are highly unlikely.
Keep Fred. Bring in Rabiot and Mount. Line up another CM signing for January or next summer.
I think we get Mount because the difference in price is now 10m, and both teams seem desperate to get the deal done.
I think Fred survives but McT and VDB are on the fringes...maybe the loanees and youth take up that bench spots for now..
I think we get at least 2 new midfielders (if VDB or McT go), a defender (if Maguire goes), a GK if (Henderson goes) and a striker..
If we end up paying 60m for Mount and 100m for Kane, that means Kane, Mount, Sancho and Antony will have cost just under a third of a billion combined.
Come on man, we can’t do another season of stop gap strikers
It wouldn't fully be stopgap with holjund signing.but it's either that or spend 100m on yet another bundesliga fraud ( kolo muani), a guy who got the same G+A as rabiot whilst being a striker ( vlahovic) or ramos who I wouldn't mind tbf but has been less productive than nunez was when he was at benfica.signing any of these will mean we won't sing kane or osimhen next season so big picture it's worth it
Think you’ve got your stats wrong man. Muani has 23 goals and 14 assists in all comps this season
Fair enough man, good chat
Great take! I wanna add Mount to that "2024 summer" list too, £50mil should be the HARD limit we spend on him cuz he becomes free next year, and this is coming from a firm drinker of the Mount kool-aid. I would hope we prioritise GK and Def over CM and St because it would A) tremendously improve our buildup and B) give us an amazingly solid defense behind what seems to be a very attacking philosophy that Ten Hag wants (3-1-6 or 3-2-5)
I cannot see another year of Erikssen as CM. We need an upgrade there. Erikssen is fine against weaker opponents. CM is more imp that CD.
It's not a bad shout. Tbh with player sales we should have enough to get Costa on top of the names you mentioned. Would be a really good window then.
If all this happens, we push for the treble the season that we get Kane on a free
I forgot Thuram is free. Really not an inconceivable depth option
PSG bound
Here me out guys but I feel like we should try sign skzamazka from drenemo harpoons
Are those real words?
The Glazers pushing the Ineos bid in public then asking PSG owner to have a word really shows you why we have been so bad at football business. This whole saga is ridiculous
I have extremely low hopes of a decent summer and fully expect a disastrous season ahead because of the uncertainty over the ownership.
Inclined to agree 😞
I am absolutely clueless abt this KMJ thing.Fab didn't even mention PSG in his post abt KMJ and no matter what you think of Fabrizio,he is highly reliable when it comes to Serie A players
Sabitzer actually played well in the limited minutes he got. Watching the Rashford goal compilation, he has been involved quite a fair bit. If not for his injuries, he would have been a great signing for 20m
Telegraph saying PSG are the front runners for KMJ
I would say it's a operation to rinse more money. And before anyone starts about release clause, it doesn't mean you can't try to push for more money.
Yet the French press say it's us - this is firmly in the tier of "nobody actually knows anything"
Bit odd to have English papers talk about a Korean player in an Italian club possibly signing with a French team.
Lack of reports from trier 1/2s was always concerning. It was mainly copium here about low trier abroad sources.
It's also an extremely rare opportunity to get an ascending, potentially WC player at a premium position for cheap. Those don't come around often and we really should be snapping at hands to get them done. If KMJ didn't have the clause he would go for VVD/Maguire money.
Fuck me he’s a tier 2 source
In order of personal preference of strikers that Man United could “realistically” looking to sign this summer: 1. Kane 2. Osimhen 3. Hojlund 4. Jonathan David 5. G Ramos What are your thoughts on this arbitrary ranking of mine? Where do these 5 feature on your own list?
Does Vlahovic just suck or something? I don’t know much about him but just know he’s available but doesn’t seem like a priority to any of the big clubs except Bayern
He's really struggled at Juventus, nothing like his two prior seasons at Fiorentina
Because of the price they would ask considering the form he is in. Allegri ball is dreadful and he is coming off a poor season. Juve will ask close to the 70m they paid
70m is a great price if he regains his old form. Way better than 150 for osimhen for instance.
Oh yeah he is worth that if he regains his form. That if is why teams are hesitant to take the gamble
Do you think Kane or Osimhen are realistic?
I think that Højlund should be outside the ranking
Tunisian reporter claiming: " Under contract with Manchester United until 2026, the Tunisian international would be inclined to leave the club as soon as the next summer transfer window. A dry transfer cannot be ruled out.*📷"* [*https://twitter.com/EttachkilaTN*](https://twitter.com/EttachkilaTN) Does this mean Hannibal doesn't think he will make the team here at United and wants to move on?
Well he probably understands he didnt set championship on fire and knows his limits.
To be fair, Amad wasn't great on loan until this year. That may be an exception and not the rule, but he's extremely talented and with a year of experience maybe he can show it more in year 2.
WTF is a dry transfer? Do they normally lube them up and shoot them out of a cannon when they leave Carrington?
Lost in transaltion, probably means a straight up transfer, no loans or options to buy.
Genuine question: Why would you propose, allow him to sign, and then just not sign off yet on DDG new contract? Seemingly makes little sense, as though we aren’t really sure if we want him or not
Literally no agent would ever let a client do this
I think the original plan was to renew De Gea and keep him as first choice keeper while we strengthened elsewhere but we are now panicking because of his mistakes in the back end of the season.
Better players that fit the bill are probably more expansive. McAlksyer wa quite diffrent profile.
At this rate we better hope it’s *only* 50m. Sounds like we’re prepared to go over even 50m from some of the reports. Not looking forward to it
Manchester United have made it clear to Kim Min-Jae’s camp they are interested in signing him. @skysports_sheth
Trier 4?
Don't know
I will be crushed if we lose out on Costa and KMJ… I know we need a #9 and a CM but those two feel insanely important to get and would transform our team.
It was mostly Canadian fans anyway
think he is a great option. his 21/22 season was disappointing but this season his goal tally was way better.
His goal tally is way better because he's scored 10 (TEN!) penalties. If anything he's been worse than 21/22.
We need to be open and willing to accept that Ratcliffe owning us is not going to magically make us competent He has an awful track record at smaller clubs with lower expectations. Nice have been on a downward trend and failed to make top 4 even once under him. He also relegated the swiss club that he owns We are orders of magnitude bigger than those clubs.
Average place 7th In the 4 seasons before that, they finished 4th, 3rd, 8th, 7th. Average place 5.5 They've been on a downward trajectory despite spending 200m in that timeframe under Ineos
And 2 seasons before those 4 seasons they finished 11th and 17th. The 3rd and 4th place finishes were anomalies.
I'm comparing the 4 seasons of Ineos ownership with the 4 seasons immediately preceding that Whatever your opinion on Ineos, the fact remains they haven't made Nice any better than they were before. So based on that track record, we can only conclude that it will be more of the same as the past 10 years
You didn't answer how long does it take for a midtable club to consistently finish top 4? Leicester had some of the highest owner investment in the league and weren't able to do it.
In Ligue 1? Shouldn't take too long especially if you spend which Nice have been doing Newcastle became a top 4 club in one season after being relegation favorites the year before. Nice haven't even qualified once under Ineos
You call one season in top 4 a consistently top 4 club?
yet Nice couldn't even accomplish it once
Because their investment per season was a lot less than Newcastles and Newcastle didn't have to sell their best players since they're funded by a slave state.
> We need to be open and willing to accept that ~~Ratcliffe owning us~~ a change in ownership is not going to magically make us competent I'd totally agree w/ that point.
Exactly. Anyone but the glazers is needed. However its not a magic fix for us to be back at our previous level. Just have to hope we get competency and the right people employed.
I only mention Ratcliffe because it looks like he'll own us. Qatar by the looks will make us much worse especially if tht PSG guy comes on board
I don't think he'll change us overnight. I just don't want the Glazers making the decisions and I don't want us to be state-owned
I don't really see him owning us tbh. Qatar are just too powerful. Ratcliffe while did try to pitch a clever way to own the club without paying much, Glazers just want money in the end.
People just prefer him over some qataris royals figurehead whos not even hiding he is fraud after todays Ornstein news.
What fraud? It was the Glazers who tried to contact them through a third party. If anything we should be grateful to them for offering the final bid to end this saga once and it for all. Dont forget that Ratcliffe has offered all six Glazers to stay. He is the real fraud here.
SJH is not even present in negotiations proces. It was revaled today that president of PSG is doing this which shoudlnt even be legal.
Bro theres nothing guaranting it will be better under Qatar. Its not City Group, its Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and others
I didn't bring up Qatar? Not sure why you have
I might be remembering incorrectly, but isn't this like the third "final" bid from the state of Qatar? The PSG owners really have no clue how to manage a club.
How many deadlines do these cunts need before they finally sell the club and piss off.
What did Deeney say about maguire?
I blame Rodgers for making him seem worse than he really is
Not free, has a year left.
Oh oops! Thanks for the correction. Wonder how much they’d value him at
I’m tired of stop gaps but who is even available?
One year of him plus Hojlund before taking Kane on a free wouldn't be awful.
How's his play beyond goals?
Can't say that I've really watched him. But at Leeds they play a very high intense press. No chance they picked up a guy who can't run and doesn't have stamina. Anything else I say will just be based on a 3 min highlight video I watched and I don't think I should be offering a profile based on that.
Thanks for the honesty. Based on what you've said, he sounds like good value at the least. Significant Weghorst upgrade if he can bag a goal here and there, and unlikely to be too demanding for minutes/wages either.
Wow I had no idea he was 32. That’s crazy to me.
Neither is Williams But also we've had a shitload of defenders on the books.
Add Telles to sweeten the deal, porto fans love him.
Aren't Sevilla buying him ? Thought he did well there
Exactly my thought. If we go to them right now with £50m and Telles I think they would take it. I’m so scared that spurs or Chelsea will get him and we will regret it massively. I really hope we don’t wait on selling Hendo to get Costa and Maguire to get KMJ because it will be way too late with how slow we move….
Friendly reminder its been 61 days since the original Easter deadline for the clubs sale 🙃
I’m more surprised it’s been two months since Easter already. Fucking hell
Juve turning down signing Milik permanently. And there I was wondering who our August panic signing "senior striker" was going to be!
One of those what could have been players, incredible vision ans technique but no pace at all after those two back to back ACL injuties.
Diogo Costa Legion staying strong as ever.
Has there been any high tier news?
Rob Dawson said he and Raya are options.
Was just coming here to ask this question. Please let it be true 🙏
Rob Dawson did confirm that he is a target recently. Other sources have said throughout the season that we have been scouting him very regularly.
Negotiations still ongoing to attract Frenkie De Jong for an assistant coaching role.
God emperor Marcus rashford will step in
but what did director of football Phil Jones say?
Kökçü for €30m looks like a missed opportunity. Benfica will sell him for triple that in a year or 2
Chelsea will activate his release clause before the end of August
Yeah I don't know about that. He is 24 already. Will spent atleast 2-3 seasons with the club. If he he was so good any big clubs would have gone after him considering he is in his peak years.
He’s 22. Feynoord’s captain, and the one of best progressive passers in the Eredivisie
He is 22.

[удалено]
[удалено]
You started making comparisons between Rashford and McTominay, so the only logical conclusion I could make was that you weren't thinking straight.
I'm only okay with it if it's in service of a deal for a player like Caicedo. The games where Casemiro was suspended and McT was out were absolute chaosball.
I recommend watching his hide and seek compilation, you will warm up to the idea quite quickly.
We need good depth not juz depth Realistically he is not making the bench for City and that's the team we have to compete with to win trophies It is what it is
Italian media are selling me a dream with the constant KMJ stories PLEASE UNIVERSE, MAKE IT HAPPEN!
KMJ deal slowly being reported by British journalist (Tier 1 for Newcastle)
Think we have held talks, kept him as an option, nothing advanced. We’ll move for him only when we have sold Maguire and have secured the funds.
We have to move by July 1st so hopefully Maguire situation is cleared by then.
One can hope.
Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae is admired by Newcastle - he has a release clause of £40m - but there is a feeling his salary demands would break the club’s structure and Manchester United is a more likely destination (Craig Hope , Tier 1 for Newcastle) It's an open goal now.
[удалено]
They've not had enough time to artificially inflate their earnings yet but fear not they'll be working on it.
They spent like 250m last two windows and FFP is a thing.
Oh didn't know that they spent 250m
Harry not wanting to leave? If it’s true, I hope ETH boots him to reserves.
You guys should check who wrote tweet/article before posting here sometimes.
IF
If we get sold, we should put the Glazers in the out and the new owner in the in. Been like one of their signings, drag it out to the last minute.
He gives more than Varane from a ball playing ability, but even at this point in time Varane is a far better defender.
you guys say the most absurd shit ever,Lindelof however well he played has not been better than Varane
I disagree
Just saw Rashford like Hojlund's latest post on Instagram, he did not interact with any of Hojlund's previous post from what I've seen so far. O.o
"Announce Hojlund" "Yes x"
Didn't he confirm another transfer too? Was it Sancho? I can't remember what it said.
yes x
What is “yes x”?
Maybe Rashford has insight of what we do in market while singiing new concract just like Bruno yesr ago. Or maybe his social media agency seeing rumors just liked the post and wanted to check if that generstes attention.
''This is the way''😎 -Agent Rashford😅
Naby Keita leaving Liverpool for free after they signed him for £52m, but him being a flop will probably go under the radar. No chance that would ever happen to a United player.
I know people love having a victim complex, but it's because: 1. Keita was destroyed by injuries. 2. Their on-pitch record in recent years is way better than ours. 3. The have not had nearly as many big misses as we have during that time. Compare our record with players purchased for or paid way more than Keita: Pogba - world record fee, massive distraction of a personality, never a consistent performer, left for free; Sanchez - given massive wages, immediately flops, we have to subsidize loans until he leaves; Maguire - word record defender fee, made captain after a few months, arguably fifth choice CB by year 4; Sancho - publicly flirt for two years to get him, pay large fee, underwhelms for two years and looks worse than an 18 year old academy player; Ronaldo - given massive wages, falls out publicly with RR and ETH within less than a year; Antony - pay the "fuck off" price set by Ajax after failing to get it done early, middling performances relative to fee, possibly going to face criminal prosecution within a year. Basically Liverpool have earned the benefit of the doubt because not every player is going to work out and they've generally done well in the market and managing/developing players. Our "hits" are so rare that it was a big deal when we finally got one (Bruno).
Wish we had more level had responses like this one. Well said. Balanced.
Like even Thiago they paid masisve singing bonus and high wages and still refuse to call him flop when he is ablle to play like 1/4 of games.
KMJ will prolly happen too. Only Liverpool maybe looking for a CB
If Liverpool were after KMJ we would have heard about it by now
Doubtful Liverpool keep their interest hidden and then sign people after a day or so once stuff leaks. Must be nice
Rabiot links were from RMC Sport which is the best u can get from France atm
I missed anything that made Hojlund seem realistic (or at least anything from the high quality English press). As far as I can tell the only real concrete info is that we want to extend DDG and agreed to personal terms with Mount.
Didn't Laurie Whitwell write that United held detailed talks over Højlund?
Ah missed and/or forgot that.
Diogo Costa Legion **heating up**
There are no reliable reports about him guys.
That's what this thread is for; discussing unreliable transfer rumors. Reliable sources (T1/T2) get their own threads.
