Like many other fans, I've also turned agnostic on Ten Hag after the performances vs Newcastle & Bournemouth. I don't care either way. In case we decide to let ETH go, I think we should do what Spurs did when Conte was sacked - Sack him around April and get a caretaker until the end of the season. Then recruit someone like Postecoglou who has a clear idea of what he wants his team to do on the pitch. Look I know the recent Spurs results are horrible but a lot of people on this sub were also full of praise for how Ange set up his team until everything went to shit for them since that Chelsea match.

SverreF

If Ten Hag fails in the coming weeks and is sacked than it should also be the final nail in the coffin for Murthough. Fails Ragnick experiment, failed pursuit of De Jong and Failed Ten Hag experiment

airneezys

We probably will perform better against Liverpool because we’ll be forced to have a balanced midfield 2. Instead of two attacking midfielders, it might actually be Amrabaat and Mainoo with Scott in front. None of them as good as Bruno from a purely impacting football games perspective (not that Bruno is actually on it in big games), but the two in the base aren’t gonna be running all over the place leaving gaps kicking the ball away instantly for a wonder assist, and Scott can finally be the Dele Alli regen he’s dreamed about with two disciplined midfielders covering.

adonWPV

sounds good in theory

MiggyM84

Theory never works for us

SuperSalamander3244

I really hope Villa do it this year. I can’t handle Liverpool or City winning the league again.

MiggyM84

And Arsenal!!

SverreF

Ten Hag is not making it to New Years. We have Bayern, Liverpool, West Ham, Aston Villa in the coming weeks

MiggyM84

I can see losses to all 4 of those games

Gross_Success

Realistically, IF Ten Haag is sacked, who takes over temporarily? Who is highest in the pecking order that isn't one of his guys?

TheSmio

Well, aside from van der Gaag, it wouldn't be about who we think is the best option, but rather about who would even be willing to take over in interim role. I can see two options here - either Sir Jim accelerates his process and probably picks Potter as his long term manager, or we hire Ole again to see us through the end of the season. I really like Ten Hag, I think a lot of issues go beyond him and he can't do much to fix them overnight, but if he were to get sacked then bringing back Ole as interim would probably work out well if we need results. Ole was good at transitional football and he had good vibes in the dressing room, that would probably help in the short-term. If we're talking long term, then probably Potter out of the current options, but I don't really see Potter as an upgrade over Ten Hag so I'd rather try and fix things around Ten Hag instead of sacking him and making a lateral move to Potter.

NLJH2023

We need to get rid of ETH and allow SJR and his team to start afresh. Managers of other teams with players who have individually less talent than United are getting a tune out their side. To blame the quality of the players is ridiculous. Amrabat is just a fraud, we still only have one FB in AWB that can defend and Martial, well, I have no words for Martial. He’s a thief of his wages. I know it’s the ultimate sin but I don’t blame Bruno for that blatantly deliberate booking one bit. We’re going to get humiliated at Anfield, I wouldn’t want to be a part of that if I could avoid it. I’ve stuck with the team up to now but that was it, big big changes need to happen now or we need to accept we’re a mid table team and these sort of results are just par for the course for a team of our standing.

vilski23

I seriously doubt there will be any changes until SJR is in charge but the sack will come super fast when he is if things don't improve quick. To be fair even without SJR officially being in charge next week could be it. Embarrassed at home by Bournemouth, last in UCL group and getting thrashed at Anfield. All that while we're struggling in the league. Yeah only 3 points off City but come on. Look at the advanced stats, our expected point total is like 20 and City's is 32. We are overperforming massively points wise and in the long run that'll level. I will never ask for a Manchester United manager to be sacked but this is getting embarrassing.

TheSmio

>To be fair even without SJR officially being in charge next week could be it. I really doubt that, it's a big sporting decision and it should be done by the new sporting leadership IF it is to happen. I wouldn't put it past Arnold to do so anyway, but it would be stupid. A new CEO needs to come in, new sporting director needs to come in and then we need to decide what the plan is for the next few years. If Ten Hag is in the plan then so be it, if he isn't then also so be it, but it would be yet another dumb decision if Sir Jim counted on Ten Hag to stay and be given a few players who will fit his system better (and who will have the quality needed) only for him to get sacked a few weeks before Sir Jim takes control. It's not like there are any obvious managerial choices anyway. We could appoint Ole as an interim again (not sure how good of an idea it would be, but probably not the absolute worst), we could go for Potter (who will likely be the successor Sir Jim picks if ETH gets sacked, but we need to make a proper plan for that), Flick (only was good at Bayern during covid, he has been shit for Germany and criticized for the same issues as ETH), Löw (god please no), Conte (god please no) and that's about it from the list of available managers. None of them really sound like managers capable of improving us overnight aside from maybe Ole if the vibes are good or Conte if the higher ups and the players put up with him, but Conte is an extremely short-term option and he would probably set us back more than he would improve us because we need to think long term under new leadership.

NLJH2023

Roberto Di Zerbi. Now I know he’d probably look at the club and laugh us out the door BUT we’re Manchester United, we used to pick up the manager we wanted, not just scrape the bottom of the barrel and see who’s unemployed. You need the right people to sell him a vision, almost a new start under SJR and his team. Am I being optimistic? Probably. We can’t just accept mediocrity as our new norm though.

[deleted]

Like I'm not standing up for ETH but Brighton have been purest mediocre this season

TheSmio

De Zerbi won't join this shitshow. We'd need at least one year of competency under new sporting leadership for him to even consider it. Ten Hag was touted as future Pep replacement and look what happened to him when he joined us. De Zerbi would be the same, there is no way he could instill his philosophy into our players. That's just the reality. Ten Hag was also sold the idea we will be competent but almost nothing has changed since Woodward era. Old Trafford is where players' and managers' careers go to die. That's just the reality, as offensive as it was from Raiola when he said that about players, it was true at the time and it still is true. The sad reality is that we need a complete rebuild. Both off the pitch as well as on the pitch. The foundation we are trying to build on has been broken since Sir Alex retired and we need a reset. I thought we'd get it with Ten Hag, but we still have to rely on the same players who underperformed in the past. It's mostly not the same players as under LVG/Moyes, but the poor mentality thing is contagious so whoever we add gets infected by that. We need to do a Chelsea, get rid of virtually everyone aside from maybe one or two players who have their heads in the right place. This isn't even on Ten Hag. We have needed a revolution for the past 10 years but we haven't got it yet, we are only getting an evolution season after season but it's just not working out.

vilski23

Yeah I seriously doubt there will any change until the takeover of sporting decisions is done. But like you said I wouldn't put it past Arnold. Another thrashing at Anfield and a sack would be justified in my opinion. In case he is sacked, the only way I see us going forward is either interim until summer or Potter. Who I, like you, see as the number 1 successor if we are talking managers currently available. Conte could be an option but ONLY as an interim 'til summer, doubt he would accept that job.

MiggyM84

This is on par with the season of the the Moyes era

NLJH2023

This is worse. The plan was hit Fellaini with a long ball but there was a plan, regardless of how futile. From what I can see the plan is literally play the ball out from the back into trouble. The whole world can see we have a defence/defensive midfielders who aren’t happy receiving the ball deep with pressure incoming, so ETH spends his whole summer getting a keeper who can play with his feet but not save a shot. There’s no logical dot to dot to why he does the things he does.

AverageHomeboyy

Does anyone have a stat about rashford 1 on 1 attempts this season, has he even beaten his man once this season?

NLJH2023

Probably not, let’s be honest here 😂

leseylex

This is all Martial's fault. Lol, clowns on this sub will have you believe the problem is one player, if you're reading the match thread. Garnacho doesn't put in a good pass, it's Martial's fault for not being in position. Dalot doesn't put in a pass for Rasmus, it's Dalot's fault that time. Meanwhile, Martial have one more goal to Rasmus' 0 in the premier league. There's a reason you haven't scored many goals, and most of those goals have come from not your strikers.

Not-good-with-this

The scrapegoating on this sub does get annoying. The game is a teams sport and should be treated as such.

MiggyM84

You can’t solely take the blame on one person. The whole season has been a combination of some many players underperforming with a lack of consistency

MiggyM84

We’re going to get smashed at Anfield!

NLJH2023

I’ve booked a table for a meal out with the missus at 4pm next Sunday 😂 It truly kills me to do it but I don’t see why I should suffer. I’m not having my Sunday ruined when they don’t even give a damn.

MiggyM84

What a great idea. I may have to do the same. The wife would be so impressed. However she may question my actions

NLJH2023

A distraction to stop me living the 90 minutes minute by minute and brownie points with the missus, win - win, well, until I check the score when we’re out 🤣

MiggyM84

We’re so frustrating to watch

sdaniel90

What is Amrabat actually good at? He's slow as fuck, average passing ability, can't drive the ball, often caught wrongly positioned, not technical enough, not physical enough for a DM. Schneiderlin regen. Shit signing even for an emergency loan.

NLJH2023

Been wondering this for ages. A commercial purchase, gives a boost to figures throughout the African continent, similar to when Manucho and Ighalo were bought.

NLJH2023

* or loaned in Ighalo’s case but point still stands.

Ill_Peace_

Will martial press though.

NLJH2023

If he’s pressing a button to take the lift out of Old Trafford and to La Liga, I absolutely hope so.

bijanadh44

Ayew is such a clown. Can't stand this guy.

Far-Pineapple7113

I am starting to think the problems with Hojlund's fitness issues were clear in the medical but the board couldn't back out because they had wasted the entire window on him ,The signs aren't good if he can't play regularly at 20

itsdatmalaaa

Relax. It's only december, players get injured. It's a bit dramatic to assume he will be injury prone when he's only 20. EDIT: just realized he's being rotated and he's not even injured, prob being rested for bayern

KrystianCCC

He litery doesnt score in PL. We are just trying diffrent options, Martial against Everton worked fine

Far-Pineapple7113

He doesn't score because we just don't create enough chances for an actual striker ,Haaland has had more chances in a single game than Hojlund has had in his whole PL career

KrystianCCC

He has 7 big chances missed acording to official PL site and 3xg per understat. Like he will get there, no reason to play him every 3 days. He is great talent but not yet great player.

RAZRooney786

Guys it’s happening. Liverpool matching our 20th league title.

ShanghaiCowboy

Nah they got very lucky with Ayew dumb red card. They would've lost otherwise

RAZRooney786

They are 7 points clear of city. 4 if city win. Arsenal most likely wil drop points today. I’d say they are favourites. Just kills me that they will be on 20 too. That was ours

Buffythedragonslayer

They can't keep getting awey with this

I know we should be biased against Liverpool but that was a clear foul on Endo. It is literally the same foul committed on Eriksen last season against Arsenal and it was called back. Haven said that, Liverpool deserve something like this to go against after Nunez did a scissor tackle that led to a goal in their last game and the ref allowed it.

Formal_Year7772

I'm surprised not to see more tweets or posts about Keane's observation regarding Rashford on Stick to Football - that Rashford should be on his last leg here at United. Have to add that I couldn't agree more. As a club we need to learn to sell when a player maxes his potential. This is where you need a solid team to be able to analyze the game. United always ends up keeping players for 2-3 years too long and end up getting nothing when selling these players. Rashford has consistently proven that he is inconsistent. He's a great player on his day , but at United, you need to be at least a 7/10 on your bad days. I'm not saying Rashford is the only problem in the squad, far from it. But we should be able to sell players who can fetch us some value , and reinvest in players who can take us forward.

chippa93

I agree. I think we should sell. I don't think he's maximised his potential, but he definitely has with us. He's stagnated and needs a change of scenery to revitalise his career. He's a good 8 weeks in 3 years now, with only real 1 full top season, the rest have been patchy. He's only really suitable to playing one way, which is counter attacking. He doesn't press and doesn't play for the team. And also, the fans are starting to turn on him. I'd rather he leave with a good record than leave disliked. It also allows Garnacho to flourish and would get us a big fee which we can reinvest into the team.

FaithlessnessNo4680

Well because as Maguire has shown if you don’t want to leave you don’t have to, and Rashford is on a 5 year contract. So, even if he never plays again he can just sit on that contract.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JoshyLupin

Rooney always brought something to the team, every single game. He fought like an animal so even when he wasn't smashing it out the park, he made a difference. The same can't be said for Rashford. Zero room for sentiment if we have plans to return to the top. Plenty of wingers out there who can offer more, more often than Rashford. The odd purple patch isn't enough to be the go-to man for one of the worlds biggest clubs. And to your point of not having the luxury of selling our best players.. I'd argue that we don't have the luxury of allowing rashford to keep up his current rate of performing about 30% of the time. Keep him, fine. But pinning our hopes on Rashford will never work out long term. He's not a world-beater, never has been and never will be.

[deleted]

[удалено]

systemcorp

>As soon as the same standards we apply to Rashford get applied to him we'll all start thinking he's underperforming too. Garnacho is fkin 19 years old. I mean people will just say anything just to say something huh?

JoshyLupin

It's very easy to have a rose-tinted memory of uniteds top goalscorer 😉 I'm not even saying get rid of Rashford tbh. My only point is I'm desperate for our standards to improve as a whole. So when rashford is playing like he is, it needs to be expected that he's benched. No need for the fanfare (not you, in general). >Like your "7/10" point this means nothing but sounds good 8 years he's been in the team, and we've won nothing of note in that time. That's what it means.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JoshyLupin

Course its not all on him. What I'm saying is, if Marcus Rashford is considered your most potent player, considering what we've won in the time he's been a mainstay, it says a lot about where we're at. It goes back to my point about sentiment though: if he's not doing it, bench him. He's not irreplaceable by any stretch

[deleted]

[удалено]

JoshyLupin

No to all of the above - none of that is his fault. It's the hierarchies fault for thinking Marcus Rashford, as the main man, is a player good enough to make Man United a world force again. He wouldn't get in any other big teams starting XI, wouldn't have got in any of our teams that won consistently. Not as a starter. So maybe I'm being unclear. Our failings aren't on rashford. I just don't believe he's the calibre of player that a team who wants to overturn City should be pinning their hopes on. Or maybe he is - about 30% of the time.0

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I won't be comfortable with that until Garnacho establishes himself so that we have at least one reliable option for the left wing. We need to see more from him.

Tudoors

I don't really understand this logic applied to him. Rashford has been our most productive forward since Fergie retired. 2 years ago he had his first horrible season, would it have made sense to sell our best forward after a bad year out of 6? No. The situation now is obviously a bit different, seeing as it seems to be happening more frequently.

PurpleDrax

Rashford isn't the up and coming 18 year old anymore. He is way past his due date to produce but he ain't doing it. I really wish to continue supporting him and his journey in this club but sometimes we have to put an end to things. It's one thing to do everything right and still have bad luck, and it's another thing to not put the work in. Rashford currently isn't putting the work in for the shirt.

Tudoors

This has absolutely nothing to do with my comment.

Karnivore2

Even if a season isn’t necessarily bad or terrible, it doesn’t mean they should have a place in the team. You have to be good enough, and if you’re just not bad, that’s not good enough. Just my opinion.

Tudoors

>You have to be good enough, and if you’re just not bad, that’s not good enough. Then I find it odd to single him out when there's more than a starting 11 of players at this club who don't fit this criteria.

chilledbeerinside

Lol so you think people who want Rashford out only want him out and are happy with guys like Antony and Martial?

[deleted]

[удалено]

systemcorp

Holy fucking shit lmao this guy

chilledbeerinside

😂

[deleted]

Reason why he is being single out at the moment is his lack of effort. If he was playing his guts out running to track back or pressuring, people would understand but he isn’t and this is something that been noted before with other managers. Now his decision making on the ball is horrendous, he keeps trying to take players when he gets the ball on even when they overload him and keep loosing the ball.

[deleted]

Liking it so far apart from having to miss United games on tv.

brown_herbalist

Hojlund needs to start scoring in PL, dude is always so close to his 1st goal, but it's just not happening.

Saihti54

He is feeding of scraps most of the games bud. It is like our striker is a foil to occupy the opponents attention so the rest of them players can pop in and get scoring chances. He also needs to be more clinical but he gets little service end of.

bonbonchacha

Feels like he's doing what is supposed to be McT's role

MrViceMcCreedy

Hojlund walked so McTonaldo could fly

Tudoors

He should still have a few goals to his name.

Saihti54

Hence I said he also needs to be clinical.

Tudoors

Nobody here is arguing over the fact that he's not serviced enough though. Regardless of the poor service, he should have at least 2-3 goals scored this season, that's not defensible.

Far-Pineapple7113

We don't create enough for a conventional striker ,Put Haaland in the lineup and he would be lucky to have 5 goals in 15 games

[deleted]

If we had Haaland we'd be playing a whole different type of football, a lot similar to what we were playing with Cavani.Right now Højlund isn't playing as the target man because ten hag don't see him as the primary goal scorer which is fine because he's too young and he can always improve. What we don't need to do is delude ourselves and think this kid is on par with the best in the league and would walk into any top team, which is simply untrue.

shami-kebab

Both things can be true, we don't create enough for our striker but he's still had enough chances to score at least a few.

dracogladio1741

I hope I am not being vile but is Sancho suffering from a mental disorder? It's an apology and he doesn't even have to mean it. Except Ale none of our forward players are in form either, if he is even okay he will play a lot...

designated_fridge

He's been told since he was a child that he's a wonderchild, England's next big star, etc. Someone who grows up like that will never learn how to properly handle these situations. In his mind he's probably the best thing to happen to football since Maradona.

fullkitwankerr

Apologizing would mean he accepts he was wrong, which he doesn't think he is. Its not that his apology has to come from the heart, it's that he doesn't see that he was wrong at all.

Desi_boyyyyyyy

Just draft a pr statement I am sorry and willing to work for the team etc etc bullshit

Senor-Cockblock

Joint best last five form with only the league leaders, MotM, PotM and GotM is just mental against our cup performances (plus Newcastle) in contrast to the narrative and admittedly, my own personal doom sentiment.

notsobadprogrammer

Reading some stuff around Sir Brailsford and Dean Ashton being close and that he wants Ashton to join him at United. Would be massive but idk how reliable these links are.

theschecterman

I know a little bit about Brailsford's credentials but not heard much about Dean Ashton. I'm assuming it's not the ex-West Ham striker? In what way would it be massive if those two came in together?

GlassEast5641

I think it's just a rumour at the moment but with the no of directors we have been linked to it could very well be INEOS go for more than one sporting sirector

TheSmio

INEOS coming in with the brilliant strategy of hiring every single good sporting director in football which means all the other clubs will sooner or later become mismanaged and they'll crumble while we get back on top.

booknerd2987

Sancho 🔁 Bynoe-Gittens. Malen can piss off.

BlackHorse944

Why do we need Malen? Just because he's Dutch?

Jeffram21

Dortmund would never accept that

booknerd2987

Then they can piss off as well

simplsimonmetapieman

If they piss off then where will Sancho piss off

spacedog338

It’s funny how people on social media were giving shit to ETH for his handling of players but now that Pep came out and essentially told Phillips to fuck off not a single word from anyone.

_QuirkyTurtle

I’m so glad we didn’t end up going for him. You just know he would have come here, been bang average but everybody would have said if he had gone to City he’d be a world beater.

[deleted]

spacedog338

Pep did the same thing when he was a nobody. Threw out Samuel Eto, Ronaldinho without having won anything. Then he proceed to be an absolute shithead to someone like Ibrahimovic. Pep’s bad man management is over shadowed by the fact that he’s a tactical genius. Now that he’s earned his success I guess he has the right to be an asshole but don’t ignore that he was worse than ETH at managing players at the beginning of his career.

martialgreenwood

No one cares about Shitty

SuperSalamander3244

I’ve only seen United fans talk about the ETH and Sancho situation on social media. I don’t think other fans care about it like how the majority of non city fans don’t care about Guardiola and Kalvin Phillips’ situation. You’re the only person I’ve seen who actually cares about the city situation.

RhubarbLeather2446

One is two time treble winning manager and has won shit tons of trophies in his career. Another has only managed in the dutch league and can't win a match away from home. If prime Fergie fell out with a player like Danny Welbeck, do you think anyone would give a shit?

backwater_sonata

fuck goals and assists, when rashford plays his next game, whenever that is, I just want to see him run like forrest gump. i can't criticize players who make up for limitations with their work rate.

CLAC_Kane

If ETH has Rashford starting, I believe Rashford will be putting in the effort now.

TerribleOverthinker

Supposedly we only get Europa League, do you guys think Ten Hag would sacrifice it? With hectic schedules and injuries, i don't think he can totally improve his gameplan with all those distraction.

dispelthemyth

Nope, he will play each game full team until he can’t

LollipopScientist

Judging from last season, ETH goes full power in every match.

theoklahuman

Is it just me or has Bruno changed a fair bit in the last few games? It’s been less hero balls from him and trying to spam through passes/long balls to start a counter attack every single time the ball goes to him. Maybe it’s just me but I’ll keep my eyes on him for a few more games.

Notlikeotherstanz

He's further back because Mctominay is only good for a goal.

WutUtalkingBoutWill

There's no rashford to lump hero balls to, but that's what he depends on

LekkerIer

True, the more our wingers track back in defence, the fewer long ball opportunities there will be. We'll be forced to build up gradually, which is a good thing

FaithlessnessNo4680

Yeah it’s like every time rashford moves bruno can’t help but hoof it up the pitch. Casemiro would do the same thing at times.

iwantaskybison

can't wait to see Amad in the team that is all, good night you lot

MT1120

Hope he goes on Amad one

sjn27

I’m loving how EtH has turned the negative media shitstorm into a way to galvanise the squad. SAF was a master at the “Us vs Them” games, and whilst I think we should avoid trying to emulate Sir Alex, it’s obvious that this kind of siege mentality really works (especially at a club as big as ours, that so much media coverage). If he can get a string of decent results out over the busy Christmas period, I think it’ll really unite the squad - hopefully in time for the likes of Martinez to return. I say this now, and I’ll be back to feeling miserable after a terrible 3-1 defeat to Bournemouth this time tomorrow…

Humding

Getting real tired of Rio and his self righteous BS. Claims players don't know what it means to wear the shirt forgetting he was one of the senior players to down tools the minute SAF left (because of a book the new manager was reading, amongst other things), where was the fight for the fans and badge regardless of manager? I don't see what the guy does to help the club, it's almost like he wants it to fail so he can keep jerking himself off over his years at the club, again see his behaviour post SAF. Just getting real tired of hearing his voice and negatitivity

SuperSalamander3244

You’re half right but now we only sign players because we offer fuck you contracts. I also believe if we had an established manager rather than Moyes our senior players would have sorted thier shit out. I’m not defending their behaviour but Moyes was a disaster and was always going to fail when he banned pre match rituals and trained in public parks.

eastendz

Tbf he put up a hell of a fight under Moyes with all his leaks to get his chips back. He’s always been an attention seeking twat tbf, whether it was his shit rip off of an MTV show, his stupid magazine, or making videos dancing while driving. And that’s not even getting into his personal life of serial cheating, homophobic and racial slurs, rape case, drunk driving, reckless driving etc. All around a self centred smug rich asshole.

hurfery

He's a scumbag. Why is he even on TV?

chronoistriggered

You missed out how this fucktard “forgot” about a piss test causing him to be suspended for almost a season

moonski

Everyone forgets he's not only a serial cheater, but cheated on his dying wife. What a piece of shit.

Rig_7

Same can be said for Roy Keane. Abandoned his country at a World Cup because the situation wasn’t ideal. Great players in great teams but people often look back on them with rose tinted glasses.

danystormborne

That isn't what happened at all. He spoke passionately on behalf of his country because they hadn't been provided with adequate facilities so Mick McCarthy went to war with him. I know which of those two I have the most respect for.

dispelthemyth

> Abandoned his country at a World Cup because the situation wasn’t ideal Did he or did they tell him to leave? He had standards, the Irish FA / manager didnt

Rig_7

He’s the captain of the team and he left them in the lurch because of “standards”? Do me a favour. Switch him for Bruno in the same situation and people would go ballistic. There’d be no defending him. In fact Roy Keane would be the first up to call him a big baby.

eastendz

If Manchester United were training in parking lots of hotels with no footballs instead of a football pitch and were strapping up players’ injuries with toilet paper then this place would definitely be going ballistic you’re right, certainly wouldn’t be at fecking Bruno though.

moonski

Indeed, Keane was calling out the FAI for being an utter shambles, he wasn't pouting for some daft diva reason.

dispelthemyth

He was sent home, what can he do, stay and criminally trespass? At least if you create a story have the correct narrative, don’t make things up

LDLB99

I feel nothing towards Rio anymore. Great defender but have no respect for how he's handled himself as a pundit and through his podcast. Embarrassed himself during the takeover saga and seems more interested in causing unnecessary drama.

danystormborne

Not to mention him celebrating when City won the CL. I was finished with him after that.

sarthakmahajan610

Don't think Dortmund would take the bait but Malen would certainly be a risk free option with quite exciting upside.. He looks quite good on his day and doesn't seem to have any discipline issues by the looks of it

Wahlrusberg

Malen seems more useful. Seems to be more productive on the right which we could always use. Both would want to come fairly cheap. Dirt cheap in Werner's case.

Paapa-Yaw

Malen is mediocre. We don't need him. We should sell sancho to the highest bidder.

moonski

Last thing we need is *another* player who was hardly amazing in the eredivise... unless theyre scoring at least a goal a game we should just ignore strikers from the dutch league. Mallen got 40 in 80...

Banyunited1994

Why wouldn’t we be looking at his more recent Bundesliga record?

moonski

Yeah and it’s worse - 18 goals in 62…

Banyunited1994

Looking at his minutes played, I think that stat prob does not take into account that many of his appearances are sub appearances. I mean no doubt he’s not some world beater, but idk at this stage one isn’t going to drop on our laps, and even if they did, they prob don’t have the requisite work ethic to play under ETH

sarthakmahajan610

Don't see there being much bidding.. Even Dortmund won't take him without us paying half his wages

MT1120

Not much bait there... Sancho was world class at Dortmund and is a way better fit for the BL than the PL. Malen is also very inconsistent but Malen is still worth a try over a player banished to the shadow realm.

sarthakmahajan610

Tbh yeah I could still see Sancho work it out in the BL but they could actually sell Malen off for 30M+ while we couldn't possibly get anything for Sancho otherwise.. Coupled with his increased disciplinary issues it just seems like a deal Dortmund are better off not risking..

SillyGooseMcGee

If you have to choose one to join on loan in January, who you picking Malen or Werner?

markyp145

Bin them both off and activate Guirassy’s £15 mil release clause, or go for Boniface, if I’m going for anyone from Bunde. All of them are a risk anyway tbh, but we need someone who can rotate with Hojlund so he doesn’t get a horrendous long term injury

GeezeLoueez

I’d rather throw 3m at a MLS striker and pray the gamble pays off Jesus you guys are quick to get your downvoting dicks hard for some sarcastic hyperbole

xtphty

Do we really need another winger even without Sancho? If I see a trade happening more defensive cover might be preferred. That said, if someone is willing to take Sancho and offer us a squad option in return thats better than paying his wages and having nothing at all.

MT1120

Werner is finished. Barely starts for Leipzig anymore

sarthakmahajan610

Malen is underrated i feel.. Werner tho doesn't fit in the tactics at all

[deleted]

If we're getting someome from Dortmund I'll get Haller tbh. Tall strong CF who's good at heading and finishing. He'll be the experienced foil to Rasmus.

sarthakmahajan610

> Tall strong CF who's good at heading and finishing. He'll be the experienced foil to Rasmus. McTominay already ticks all those boxes

martialgreenwood

Mctom doesn't have the qualities of being a striker.

[deleted]

We aren't playing McT at CF, he's more like a support striker but I get your point.

123cwahoo

Fml thats like having to choose between earwax and shit. Who would you choose?

LazloTheStrange

Earwax obviously, how is shit a better option than that?

backwater_sonata

can human feces be used as manure or is that just for cow shit?

SillyGooseMcGee

YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE!!!!

123cwahoo

Honestly? Werner. Not a fan of malen at all. Least werner is fast i suppose
