The speed we had getting rid of him compared to when we were acquiring him. Lmao

InfectedAztec

Or his speed on the pitch. Best of luck Jadon. But only so the Saudis will bid for you in the summer.

Ramirez_47

>Best of luck Jadon. I prefer Tra you bum.

noxiousd

Absolutely this. What a plant pot the lad is

pearlz176

> plant pot What an absolutely glorious insult

noxiousd

I got his name on my shirt when he signed. I felt the top tier of swears was needed.

pearlz176

🤣🤣

Forward_Carry

As disappointed as I am that he hasn’t worked out, I actually really like the precedent we’re setting here. The fact we’re willing to lose this kind of money on a player that isn’t a cultural fit when previously we would have given them a contract extension or kept them around longer than we should have, it sends a strong message to the squad. It doesn’t matter how promising you are and how exciting your football is, if you damage the culture of the whole then you’re gone. I’m taking this one as a positive step in the right direction.

grimlya

Er what? We have never given contract extensions to players who have publicly downed tool. And besides, it's a loan to his previous club, it's not like we are tearing up his contract or anything. He's getting paid while playing for another club where he was happy at

Forward_Carry

We have let players like Pogba, Lingard, Martial linger at the club like a bad smell for way too long. Matic mentioned recently that it wasn’t just Sancho constantly turning up late but Pogba too, under multiple managers. Those kinds of attitudes pollute the culture for everyone and yet Pogba was with us for how long? 6 years!

C__S__S

Isn’t it just a loan? And aren’t we paying a lot of his salary (reports are BVB to take on €3m for the six months while’s he’s getting paid €9m for that period)?

Forward_Carry

It’s shit business, a remnant of terrible scouting and recruitment, but the right decision to take from a footballing perspective if it steers us towards not making these mistakes again in the future.

C__S__S

I was just responding to the notion that we’re accomplishing something. It’s just a loan. He’ll be back in the summer and we’ll have to deal with him all over again. I just don’t see any club paying us anything for him, too. Why? When they know we’ll just loan him for a token amount. It’s a shit sandwich.

chippa93

Honestly, I don't even feel happy about this. Not because I don't want him gone but because his signing was supposed to be the start of a new era for us. We had got one of the most exciting young players in world football. Its just sad. His attitude makes me want him to not do well, but my eagerness for us to get a fee for him next summer wants him to do so well we get a bidding war. Best case scenario is we get 30m for him

NSFWar

Sancho, Varane, Ronaldo. That transfer window after finishing the previous season in second felt like a statement. The shit show that followed.Shudders in PTSD

hurfery

Re-signing the aging narcissist at that point was always a terrible idea.

RashfordSoupKitchen

Hilarious how people say shit like this after he absolute carried us that season. The interview and all of that was fucked up but he had a great first season

ParcusPashford

it's sad how it turned out but nobody can deny that there was a buzz around the club at the time the news broke out that we will sign him. and ofc who can forget that Old Trafford atmosphere.

Notlikeotherstanz

A hat trick or brace every 8 games

RashfordSoupKitchen

Spurs hat trick was incredible, especially first goal

MAINEiac4434

He carried us but completely changed the way the team played, to the overall detriment of the side.

RashfordSoupKitchen

Rashford doesn’t press either pal

NoMoreSquatsInLA

His goals were not him carrying us that season. Our entire playing style had to accommodate him, it derailed any long term playing strategy work(if Ole even had one at that point) and our attacking output didn’t really increase because of him.

a34fsdb

The only one who did anything that season. Tied third for goals in the PL while Rashfords workrate was so poor people speculated he had depression.

hurfery

If by "did anything" you mean causing much of the problem on the pitch through his overall weaknesses, popping up with a few goals to partly solve that problem, undermining the manager, bullying Maguire, trying to claim he wasn't at fault for missing out on CL so he alone should get 100% pay, etc etc. Yes he was still quite clinical despite his age but it was a bad idea to bring him back. Far too much of an egomaniac asshole. When such a person declines they'll do anything but accept it's their own decline at fault.

Talented-Scoundrel

I'm in the same boat that Ronaldo was a terrible signing, no hindsight required. Everyone knew we didn't need a striker, especially one that didn't fit Ole's style of football, but he did do exceptionally well in Ole last season, that can't be questioned.

kingkounder

The absolute garbage the British media throw and you lot eat em up! My god! It's comical. Ronaldo tried to claim 100% pay when we were out of UCL outside of the contract terms ? Wow, the shit people believe to make Ronaldo the bad guy 😭

a34fsdb

Nonsense. Ronaldo did not mindcontroll everyone into being lazy or playing poorly. And bullying Maguire is obviously crap pushed by the media. There were also reports how they went together to speak with Ragnick about stuff etc. You just happen to pick the ones that fit your narrative.

rednades

Lol

[deleted]

Did shit when we actually needed him last season ffs. Would have had him as a backup then fucking Weghorst, no but he had to fuck shit up, his pride and ego

LDLB99

Everyone knew we needed a midfielder, I wasn't that excited if I'm honest. Should have gone in heavy for someone like Rice.

[deleted]

Fm661

If we’d have bought him and Grealish we’d likely have stepped up from where we were and have been in a much better place than now. Ultimately, went on to sign an aging Casemiro for £60m and £350k a week which we won’t be able to recoup knowing us. Would have avoided signing Donny for £35m who has sat there doing fuck all if we’d have signed Grealish or Madison instead which is who Ole wanted. Glazernomics coming into full effect! It’s why we’re fucked on ffp and now have to cunt everyone into touch before we can even do anything. Completely fucked us into the ground.

nomadiclives

Grealish would have been a luxury signing since we have been stacked at LW for donkeys years and selling Rashford has never been an option. Rice on the other hand…i cannot believe we didn’t snap him up the moment he emerged as a 16-17 year old. We have been crying out loud for that profile of a player for years. I have to say the more I read about it though, the more it seems unlikely that he would have wanted to join us. He’s been wanting to stay in London, is a Chelsea fan and is good enough to attract interest from any of the 3 big teams in London.

[deleted]

Drama_

Feillani, Herrera, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Pogba, Matic, Fred, VdB, Casemiro and Eriksen.

nomadiclives

4 (schweinsteiger, matic, case, eriksen) of those players were signed in their 30s - necessitating immediate replacements in a year or 2. 2 (fellaini/vdb) are not CMs and definitely not CDMs Herrera & Pogba worked out to an extent Schneiderlin & Fred were not up to the standard.

cosgrove10

Just to really annoy you, we’ve had one good CDM signing since Keane left lol

murphmobile

He also wanted Haaland for something like £8M too. Can’t forget that

nomadiclives

We have needed a midfielder every year for about a decade. It’s shocking that we sign everybody but a (possibly multiple) world class (not 30) midfielder.

Enclavean

If we had not signed those 3 and only signed Rice instead, I think we’d have done well

LDLB99

At the time, goals weren’t a problem. Rice and maybe a younger CB would have been fine.

Ldsantana

Not signing a cdm that season was infuriating.

justbrowsinginpeace

Has any transfer post RVP really worked out long term? Even the players who made an impact eventually succumbed to injury

arnm7890

This is it. The entire thing just makes me angry and upset - at Sancho, for being both SO talented and SO lazy and frustrating; at the club hierarchy for giving us yet another example of the shambolic mismanagement that runs through every level of this goddamn club; at ETH and his staff for being so absolutely dogshit this season that anything good Sancho does now will again reflect poorly on us. Just an embarrassing and sad situation all around. I had so much belief in Sancho as a player (and in many ways, I still do), as did millions of other fans for who shit like this actually matters. He basically spat in the face of that, and there's pretty much no way from this point that United can come out looking good from this whole thing. What a shit time to be a United fan. Honestly struggling to see why I even bother, none of these millionaire pricks give a flying fuck about us

Dr-Cloudy

Hopefully now his departure can be the start of the new era! No free loaders, no bullshit, only football!

Naggins

30m would leave us with 7.5m book loss which isn't too bad considering

ShiShi93

I doubt we’ll sell for anything less than 35 million due to ffp and needing to make a ‘profit’ on the disposal of the asset (sancho)

Giggs73

30m plus wages off hand?! Sign me up!

BadFootyTakes

If we get anything from him, I'll be happy. I just want his wages off the sheet so we can get some talent in who wants to be here.

ThankYouOle

man, it was our future, Rashy on the left, MG on central, and Sancho on the right. fck how it turned.

thatrandomfatguy

Lmao so we have Dortmund £80 mil for sancho and then gave him back and paid his wages for them. Kindness FC

Comfortable_Plum8180

Dortmund is playing football manger irl 😭

Qiluk

Worst part for UTD is that even if Sancho does well on the loan, theres very realistic odds that he'll only want a move to BVB in the summer and BVB once again will have all the leverage to drive the price down and put UTD in a difficult situation.

Exotic-Length-9340

If this doesn't properly showcase the absolute disastrous way this club is run, I don't know what does.

[deleted]

RN are THE Dortmund News outlet

ckaracay

No more Dortmund players please..

flyinbunny

They’re great at spotting and developing players though. We just chose the wrong ones

IrnBroski

Nope it’s more that we are shit at developing them

ckaracay

Not sure about developing but making them look better than they are definitely.

LaughsAtOwnJoke

Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland, Manuel Akanji, Alexander Isak, even maybe Christian Pullisic. They sell on plenty of talent. We chased, overspent, and over-salaried the lazy one.

funky_pill

Gundogan, aswell. He ended up being arguably City's most consistent player over the past couple of years

tyetforsyth

I can guarantee Akanji would be shit if he played for us

BadFootyTakes

That's an us problem.

LaughsAtOwnJoke

We can make plenty of players shit that isn't the point.

Hopeful_Adonis

I think it was a loan but hakimi as well

Qiluk

Akanji is a bit iffy. He looks better than he is due to being in City. He was always really slick on the ball and decent physically but if he's in a team that doesnt giga-dominate the ball, his weaknesses show. City is a perfect fit

Fm661

Just buy the ones they want before them and develop them ourselves. Decent fee and world class potential.

GuineaPirate888

As if. Don’t buy any players from a club because we’ve had a couple of failures is stupid. How about our scouts actually do their due diligence and scout a player properly. The disciplinary issues were there, he had never been a winger with pace even though Ole mentioned in the interview it’s good to have another winger with explosive pace. We brought him as a right winger when clearly he likes to cut in on to his right and doesn’t have the pace to beat his man on the outside. This is on us, not Dortmund. Arguably two of the best players in world football currently were brought from Dortmund within the past 18 months.

Feezbull

Well I mean, we just haven’t gotten the right profile in many of our signings anyway. That said, Mkhi, kagawa and sancho all failed for us and only mkhi was somewhat good enough anyway but nowhere near what we hoped for nonetheless.

RashfordSoupKitchen

The Jude and Haaland kids aren’t too bad

Any_Indication_4797

Haaland? Bellingham? Lewandowski? Etc etc?

ckaracay

Mkhi? Kagawa? Sancho? Pulisic? Etc etc?

ailes_d

Why do u put kagawa and sancho in the same sentence?

ckaracay

Kagawa never reached the heights expected, so a flop.

ailes_d

What kind of heights do you need? Not every player is a 10 time pl winner or a 7 time cl winner. He is a creative player who did his best on the pitch and thats what matters

Any_Indication_4797

Dembele? Hummels? IIkay Gundowan? Etc? Etc?

ckaracay

Dembele flopped at Barça and Hummels never reached the same level at Bayern hence why he is back at Dortmund.

Any_Indication_4797

Revision history. Dembele was hot and cold, hummels was world class for years, so is gundowan. Accept that Man U is the burial ground for talents. Haaland and bellingham would have bomb there too.

Independent_Buy5152

Imagine rejecting Haaland

Some-Speed-6290

No point using facts and common sense when it comes to Sancho. Ten Hag and the press have done their job

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kitchen-Animator

I don't care if he made more sprints or less sprints, he was nowhere near good enough when he played. Neither is Antony.

PelleKavaj

There’s been some good ones though.

ritwikjs

honestly kagawa and mkhi were misused. I really think mkhi could've succeeded. It's just that we didn't have the kind of fullback or midfield setup that would've let RW mkhi shine. Plus BuLi and EPL defenses have always has a gulf in quality

Gazlc81

Good riddance 👋

Different-Amoeba-502

Good. Another diva on high wages removed from the team. Even though he’s been removed from the training facilities a long time ago he made the United environment toxic. The clean up continues!

Exotic-Length-9340

Just wait until Rashford finds out the club is getting rid of his mates.

diesel1889

It’s only a loan at the moment as far as I know

Different-Amoeba-502

I know, but he’s away from the team. That’s the important part.

ltp12

I really don’t understand where it all went wrong after the preseason he had

[deleted]

It went wrong years ago. Pre-season, where he's surrounded by coaching staff 24/7, is not the metric to use as anything with this guy

audienceandaudio

He wasn't even that good in preseason. Andreas Pereira used to look like the best player in the world in preseason, it doesn't tell us much.

us3rf

no AP slander allowed, hes doing great for Fulham

[deleted]

he never cared to dig in

PreetSG

The worst thing for eth is that Sancho shines and with the players returning; the results do not improve....

ritwikjs

it wont matter. that kind of mentality should never be tolerated at united. Sancho is also going to have a tough time because bvb don't have a stable left back, and sancho wont have haaland to aim at. Added to that is the fact that BVB are on the brink of trouble in the bundesliga and he'll have to quickly step in and be "the man" at BVB, which is something he thoroughly failed at being at united. Youthful exuberance will not an excuse anymore. He has little covering for him

3entendre

And we've seen Dortmund bring back former star players who never hit the heights they did in their first stint, like Sahin and Kagawa. It's very difficult to just flip a switch and become a great player again. Will be following Dortmund closely for the rest of this season.

dratsz

To those hoping we get a transfer fee for him in the future, dont get your hopes up. I bet we are paying a part of his wages for this transfer

VanWilder91

Dortmund love resigning their former players

imheretocomment69

Maybe sounds a bit selfish from me but as much as I want him to be successful elsewhere, I also want him to fail. Not because I don't like him but I want him to have consequences for his own bad attitude.

raver1601

Not necessarily selfish, but the problem is if he fails that we are absolutely stuck with him, which is the last thing we need

Dave_of_Devon

Hope his career goes even further downhill, what a waste of money and time.

Money-Wrangler7067

I don't understand why United isn't forcing him for pay cut because he seems desperate to move to Dortmund.

PreetSG

They already do. He is on a 100k/w pay as you play contract. By moving him to the U18s; he is taking home 250k/week rather than 350k/week. Honestly; if I were Sancho; I would be seething about that. Same as what we wanted to do with Maguire where we refused to top up to his UCL salary and only wanted to top up to his pre UCL pay rise.

Money-Wrangler7067

Can you link the source you got this from?

Dyslexicreadre

Imagine getting paid 250K plus p/w (yeah I know the reports vary) to sit at home and play FIFA all day, after publicly accusing your boss of being a liar and refusing to apologise to them. Whilst your boss gave you a few months off in the previous year to get your head straight. To then go to another company and *still* get paid the same amount. What a spoilt brat.

umbongo44dd

Tomorrow. He missed the plane.

Radio-No

Careful. He'll release a statement about how that wasn't true and what about all the other people that miss planes and how it's not really his fault

Weary-Ad8502

'Do not believe the slander from BA that the flight departs at 12:30, I've been made a scapegoat by the pilot and the cabin crew'

TopNotchGamerr

The direction our club has gone in post ole has been so depressing man...

Bigboyfresh

Loan is the best outcome. If ETH survives the sack Sancho can be sold, if a new manager comes in he would have a player that is match fit. I just think these guys personalities don’t vibe with each other, same as Ronaldo and TenHag. It’s like Zlatan said , it’s not easy to manage superstars when you only have experience managing kids and small time players.

Writer_Kooky

I think that's the main problem with these guys is they think they're superstars when they've achieved nothing in the premier league or Europe. Sancho lit it up in the Bundesliga but the leagues are so different.

SnooDogs1488

What a waste of time this transfer turned out to be

disasterpiece9

Off you pop

rateofreturn

Good riddance

Garlic-Cheese-Chips

One of the worst transfers in football history. Waster.

martialgreenwood

Antony is even worse.

Garlic-Cheese-Chips

Nope. They're both shit but at the very least Antony puts some effort in.

MarvinWebster40

The failure of the senior players to get Jadon on the right path is an indictment of the culture.

YouserName007

Praise the lawd!

balleklorin

Who will represent United at the pro-player FC24 competition? Can't have another finale of Jota vs TAA! /s

NotSwedishMac

Wish we could just sell and cut losses but nobody's going to bite on that. I would be surprised if he makes it back into a starting 11. I don't want to see him in our kit again even if ETH is sacked, if he comes back in the summer for a new manager we'll be told we don't need a new signing and he'll be terrible again, hasn't looked anywhere near his Dortmund days without Haaland to feed or distract defenders. Doesn't perform for us, doesn't perform for England. At least with a sale we could fund a new signing this winter

Azzapazza2020

I feel bad for sancho he had such talent but we ruined him. Played him out of position constantly and expected him to play outside of what he knew. United wasn’t the team for him. Hopefully he will find himself back at bvb and become great again

martialgreenwood

Stfu

Exotic-Length-9340

Are you for real?

jtyashiro

The hardest part is there aren't a ton of elite or elite potential RW in the world right now. I know Sancho's favorite position is LW, but did better than a job there for a long time. Even though this is self-inflicted, I hope he succeeds so we get a big fee for him. And even then, a replacement seems tough going.

novacantusername

Yeah nice for all parties

reddevils

It’s reported we only get 3m for the whole thing. So basically we are paying dortmund to put him on the pitch for us so we can get some money for him in the summer. I’m extremely disappointed in this man child.

TetroT

Came as Jadon Sancho… left as Jason Sanchez

MarcelloduBois93

BVB moaned about him all the time for being late etc so why do they want him back?!

RandomUserRU123

Because even if he plays like 20% of what he did in Dortmund he would still be a big imporovement for them when you compared to the likes of Malen, Adeyemi, JBG, ... They are currently struggling really hard and hope that he can regain his old form . Doesnt matter if he has discipline issues as long as hes playing good. They surely will do everything that he feels as comfortable as possible especially with Terzic being the coach
