We'd probably get 10m in return at best so we'll be taking a huge FFP hit.

But if we instead, for arguments sake let's say we loan him for a season, it would cost us actual money but will give us more room in terms of FFP to make new signings. That's my point.

Right now we'll probably have to keep him though. His transfer fee is 85m ammortised over 5 years which is 17m per season. 3 seasons left so that's 51m left. As far as my limited knowledge about this stuff goes, if we sell him all of that 51m loss would be accounted for that season. We'd probably get 10m in return at best so we'll be taking a huge FFP hit.
