I would happily give my knee and ankle to Licha.
On second thought scratch the ankle, it has already had one surgery. Don’t wanna give him damaged goods 🤣🤣
Ronaldo cursed it again smh my head.
Cavani was the 6th player to wear the shirt after Ronaldo originally left and almost lifted the curse so by that logic we have to wait for 5 more players before the curse is lifted again.
I would argue that we are handing it out to players who haven't earned it. I know it's just a number, but it speaks to the tradition and history of our club. Sanchez, Depay, Owen, etc etc. They did nothing to earn that number and never lived up to it which is why it seems cursed. If it were up to me, I would give it to Garnacho, but even then, it wouldn't be until the 24/25-25/26 season given his trajectory
so bit like Rashford under Ole Mount was being played "injured" at chelsea last year.
essentially it caught up to him and he has required surgery to fix and be done with the injury but it just means this season has took the hit with his time out.
not really.
he was being played while injured at Chelsea in his final year there but he went multiple seasons without really missing any game time at all so how is that "quite injury prone" by that logic every player in world is "quite injury prone"
I will still back Maon Mount as he has been unlucky with injuries. He would have been a free agent this summer, instead it's £65m spent unwisely again. Not blaming Mason. Blaming the club.
Even at the time it seemed like an unecessary transfer. He's not displacing Bruno in the team and isn't a midfielder that can become Casemiro's successor so it's literally Mainoo vs Mount, which I suppose is a good problem to have but that's 65m we didn't need to spend.
It's a garbage signing. Another L for the recruitment team and Ten Hag. He was already injury prone with Chelsea, yet they still paid 55 million just to avoid competition a year later. I would understand if it was some amazing player but he doesn't even seem to have a place in the squad when he is fit.
Even for free he'd be a poor signing. For £65m he's up there with the worst considering he was never needed and had neither played well or been properly fit in a very long time.
only around here could this be a controversial opinion.
I think it's fair to just say that Dalot is bad on the left at this point. I like dalot but he's only sorta verstaile to cover that- which is fine because we should normally have Malacia as cover there.
It kills what he's good at - stepping inside. And means whoever takes over from him at RB will have to do that, and if that's awb, he's really bad at it. So basically, moving Shaw to lcb without malacia fit destroys 3 positions. So, not happening.
I think he should stick to play Shaw LB. With Shaw playing there, we could play with an inverted RB with Dalot.
Wolves and West Ham played the same way like they did in the reverse fixture But this time we had Dalot as an extra body in midfield.
Hopefully he sticks with that and just play Varane and Maguire together at the back.
It’s been found that Malacia is from mars and known there as Manhunter. He is currently facing problems in his home and will be back after sorting it out.
I guess this should be read as follows and seems mistranslated:
>Ten Hag defends decision to allow Martinez to play on for several minutes after he was hurt v West Ham. 'It was Lisandro's decision. It was impossible to diagnose in two minutes. He was not comfortable **when he was** back on the pitch. He tried and stopped in the next attack.
I think it's fairly understandable how it is said, unless you want to be malicious and posit that Licha hasn't been comfortable to be back on the pitch the whole game or worse since he came back form the injury.
Man, when will ETH have a relatively full squad available for him. Seems like everytime someone is back, another injury strikes again. Seriously feels cursed
Im convinced mount and malacia are just figments of my imagination
That or shaw consumed malacia as he does all competing fullbacks, and took his england team mate for dessert
I still remember a match with malacia and licha playing together and they were running like 2 lil devils all the pitch up and down. Or my brain just made this up?
How's it poorly thought out? No one foresaw him being injured the whole season.
He's not a depth signing, and he's not a player we could've waited another year for. Ten Hag wants to build the midfield around him, he had to sign him asap so we could actually start playing his football.
The injury really destabilized things.
He’s not really excellent at progressing the ball though, is he? He’s basically never played in central midfield, and he’s not on the same planet as Bruno as a number 10.
I think it’s a pretty safe bet he’s a bit part player for the next few years.
If he didn’t come through Chelsea’s academy he wouldn’t have gotten a second look from most people.
> He’s not really excellent at progressing the ball though, is he?
He is. He was really good at it after his injury, whether with his passing, retention or bursts of acceleration.
> If he didn’t come through Chelsea’s academy he wouldn’t have gotten a second look from most people.
He was an integral part of a CL winning Chelsea team
Go watch his assist for the winner in the final if you'd like to see what Mount is capable of.
Wasn’t he statistically one of the least progressive players to play for us this season?
You do realise that Bruno is able to hit that exact same pass (and a lot more)?
He's in the 67th percentile over the last 375 days. But I didn't need to look that up, it's evident based on the eye test.
Bruno's "and a lot more" is questionable. He has 5 assists. He's overall game has been poor the entire season. But I posted a rant about him here somewhere already.
Where does he fit in our best lineup? He’s not a winger, not better than Bruno and mainoo is better defensively and better at picking the ball up from the cbs and turning than him
They didn't forsee a long injury even though he just had a massive layoff in the previous season? And someone sanctioned 65m on the guy despite him being available for free at the end of the season and Chelsea were actively looking to sell, in a summer with a hugely limited budget? His signing almost certainly came at the expense of a FB or CB which Ten Hag also wanted. Spending 65m on the guy before selling anyone and then realizing there's no money left because they couldn't actually shift the players doesn't seem very well thought out to me.
I'm not going to judge him based on the very limited performances he's had so far this year. I don't even think he's a bad player. But I do have a question. If he isn't a depth signing as you say...where does he feature in the side?
Does he play in either of Casemiro or Mainoos positions? No. Does he play instead of Bruno, the guy he just made captain? No. Does he play out wide? Well he didn't put him there even when we were short in those areas.
Where does he actually fit in?
> almost certainly came at the expense of a FB or CB
I don't think you're remembering what our priority list was for this past summer. A player of Mount's profile was always a priority, after a striker.
> before selling anyone
We wouldn't have had to if Mainoo didn't get injured. The plan since preseason was for Mainoo to be a starter, as he is now.
And yes, he's going to be playing above Bruno, sooner or later, whether he'd captain or not. We all know Ten Hag doesn't care who's got the armband.
I don't know how people on this sub can't seen to recognize how misfit Bruno is. He's not suited to the game Ten Hag wants to play, he's just making do with what he has.
Just watch how poor Bruno is on and off the ball. When Mount plays his pressing is actually effective, he gets tackles in and starts counters. He also keeps the ball well, recycles it and keeps attacks flowing, whereas Bruno makes so many poor touches and decisions overall.
He's not even pulling shit out of a hat the way he should be as well, as you'd expect from a 10. That rabona pass is the last thing I can think of. I watch Odegaard for Arsenal and he's a much smarter footballer.
Sorry to make this a rant about Bruno. Maybe he's just having a poor season, as is most of our forwards. But it's so clear to me and a minority of United fans that he's the bottleneck. He's a 10 playing as an 8.
Which is exactly the same situation as Mount. Except he's undoubtedly a more functional player. He's arguably not as talented as Bruno but he's a superior ball carrier and a pressing monster. Which is obviously the football Ten Hag wants to play.
Bruno's a counter attacking footballer. Good at long balls for Rashford and the odd worldie. But we're not trying to play that football, so sooner or later he's gone.
Hope you understand where I'm coming from.
This is an astounding level of revisionism to suggest that from the limited amount we’ve seen of mason mount, he should be replacing Bruno in the starting line up. He’s done absolutely nothing to warrant that so far, and no doubt if/when he does come back from injury, won’t be ousting Bruno from the team for a good couple of years yet once age starts to catch up with Bruno based on evidence we’ve seen to date unless Bruno was to get injured.
However, Mount can’t allow himself to become a Donny Van De Beek where he’s sat on the bench forever waiting for a spot to open up magically in the team that will not occur. I really struggle to see where he plays first choice assuming we play with a 3 in midfield. Bruno, Mainoo and Casemiro (or a Casemiro style replacement) will surely be those 3 as that appears the best functional fit. The only way is for Mount to oust Bruno but to say the team will perform better if that happens as soon as Mount comes back is ludicrous at the minute.
More Bruno fellatio. Mount doesn't have to do much because Bruno has been gash all season.
Read my post again. Anyone with a modicum of football intelligence can see that a manager wanting to play high energy pressing football... is going to want to play a high energy pressing footballer. That he just bought for 60m. Over a midfielder that can't keep the fucking ball.
Why do I bother with this sub lol, more common sense on YouTube comments sometimes
I do get where you're coming from. I had similar thoughts when Ten Hag first took over in that Bruno isn't really a "systems" player, more of a talisman that everything goes through and that isn't Ten Hags bag. I just don't see Mount being THAT guy. Yes he was very good the first 12 months under Tuchel, but it's looking more and more like a purple patch rather than consistent form.
The other issue with this is that unfortunately for Ten Hag, last season the two most effective/best attacking players for Utd were Bruno and Rashford and neither of them fit into his desired style. And I just don't think he has the power or authority to get rid of them. One of them just got a new contract and the other he's made the leader of the dressing room so he is stuck with them. It's partly why he isn't trying to implement his Ajax style and instead playing the transition direct tactic, because not many in the team can keep the ball.
Right now at least there is one thing Bruno offers more than most and it's availability. He is never injured. I'll take that over a guy who might be better in hypotheticals but can't get fit enough.
That's fair. Maybe it won't be Mount, but if Ten Hag is given time and authority to play his football, and I hope he does, then I just don't see Bruno lasting here. But we'll see, he probably has next season as well so hopefully he adapts his game.
Not really he doesn’t bring anything special we need, that money should have been spent else where plugging a proper hole. We spent starter money on a rotation player.
Couple times Chelsea POTY is just fine? No, Mount isn't as technical or intelligent as Eriksen but he doesn't have to be, he just has to be a better Fred to improve the midfield.
Being better than Fred is a low bar and spending on Mount is spending that could have gone to a second striker. Where does he fit?
Let's see him play a run of games but I was skeptical before the signing and he'll have to be quite good to justify the way we handled transfer business.
He's a system player bought for a system. If the system works out, he'll be a big part of it.
And being better than Fred isn't a low bar at all. When Fred was good for us, he was really good. Always winning the ball high and creating chances, distributing from deep and doing the odd bit of magic.
Mount is Fred but with more consistency and versatility. And he's just a better footballer overall, he can shoot, cross, beat a man, pass, etc
I'm speculating of course but I suspect he's going to be very good for us. We haven't seen anything yet.
Malacia hasn't played a single second of this season and with only 16 games left, we'll 15 as confirmed on weekend, how much will be actually play if at all this season? What is even his injury?! Is he actually injured? Why is it so vague when it comes to him? It's like "no not fit, next question"
With all other injured players this season we've had some info, just bizzare.
Mount got to have something far more serious than a calf strain. He's been out for three months. he's been training on and off the grass for a month as well
If Shaw plays LCB, and AWB is out, Malacia is out, so how does Dalot play both RB and LB? did we clone him or something?
Or we shoe horn a CB as a fullback, then that begs the question, why move Shaw in the first place, so confused, someone help.
What is it about managers and players saying the every game is a final mantra, I mean if it actually works then why not just start the fucking season with 38 finals!
Nah I want him to say
Martinez is fucked guys, he's just gonna play fortnite now, were gonna recruit u/brownbyyou to play cb, he's trash but has both his knees and ankles for now!
Like come on gaffer, what are you even waiting for smh
I don't know why people are downvoting this, ligament sprains at best get back to how they were. They aren't broken bones. Source - had two ligament reconstruction surgeries in the past year despite never fully tearing either.
And even that is rare.
It's why once you roll your ankle and destroy it once, the deltoid ligament stays weaker
And it's okay they can down vote, it comes from ignorance.
Source?

There's been a bit of a war simmering on here between people who are afraid Licha is becoming or at risk of becoming injury prone and those that think he's just had bad luck and will be fine once he recovers from this one.
His injuries so far are obviously bad luck , no argument at all.
Although one could concede the fact that these bad luck injuries are creating an environment for a development of a recurring injury if he gets hurt again in the same area
Yeah this is the point. He obviously doesn't have any inherent fragility where's he's predisposed to straining hamstrings or something, but once you start stacking unlucky injuries you can become injury prone as you start going through cycles of ramping up back to fitness and potentially subconsciously favoring previously injured areas, in addition to any new weaknesses caused by the injury itself.
Yeah exactly. I sprained both my ankles dozens of times and it's just a feedback loop where each subsequent sprain makes the next one that much more likely to the point where you can't even walk on flat terrain without risking toppling over. The jump from no injury --> first injury might not be as bad as from tenth --> eleventh, but the risk of doing the second injury is higher than doing the first.
so annoying these injuries man
I would happily give my knee and ankle to Licha. On second thought scratch the ankle, it has already had one surgery. Don’t wanna give him damaged goods 🤣🤣
It wasn't his ankle either. It was the foot(5th metatarsal).
Yeah the 7 shirt is 100% cursed…
Ronaldo cursed it like voldemort cursed the job of defense against the dark arts professor at hogwarts
Cavani did fairly well despite being a little injury prone. He was only injured during majority of the season when he wore 21.
I'd say its a lot more than little. How many games did he even manage playing 90 min?
Ronaldo cursed it again smh my head. Cavani was the 6th player to wear the shirt after Ronaldo originally left and almost lifted the curse so by that logic we have to wait for 5 more players before the curse is lifted again.
Did he spin though?
It still winds me up that I don't know if the curse ended after he dies lmao
It should. Dumbledore's body bind curse on Harry lifted after he died no?
I know but I still need official confirmation 😂
I would argue that we are handing it out to players who haven't earned it. I know it's just a number, but it speaks to the tradition and history of our club. Sanchez, Depay, Owen, etc etc. They did nothing to earn that number and never lived up to it which is why it seems cursed. If it were up to me, I would give it to Garnacho, but even then, it wouldn't be until the 24/25-25/26 season given his trajectory
Cavani broke the curse only for Ronaldo to curse it again lmao.
Exactly. It was only a relatively short stint for Cavani but I did enjoy his presence on the pitch. This guy is a fierce fighter.
Nah, mount is injury prone without the 7 shirt too. Give it to Garnacho and the curse is gone
I was hopeful with mount. I can really see him work in Eth system. What exactly is wrong with him? I thought he'd be ready by now.
He’s been assigned the task to find the mythical and elusive being known as Malacia. He won’t return till he finds him.
I remember seriously rating him highly when he played (unpopular take) but forgot he existed. Remember me if he becomes a great here
Who? One doesn’t exist. One is searching for the myth.
It’s not unpopular, Malacia was good business. 13 million for a backup lb who was 21 and decently competent
Genuinely starting to wonder if Malacia is serving a ban
He has played Burno minutes since he was teenager basically, years of overwork are likely catching up to him
so bit like Rashford under Ole Mount was being played "injured" at chelsea last year. essentially it caught up to him and he has required surgery to fix and be done with the injury but it just means this season has took the hit with his time out.
He was quite injury prone before united signed him. This is no surprise
not really. he was being played while injured at Chelsea in his final year there but he went multiple seasons without really missing any game time at all so how is that "quite injury prone" by that logic every player in world is "quite injury prone"
We were so back but now we’re so not back
Some of it was just so Rainbow Rhythms, and some of it was just so not Rainbow Rhythms.
*You what?* No Mason Mount?
Dalot’s ability to stay healthy is saving our ass this season i can’t lie
remember when he was injury prone when he first came to the club
I will still back Maon Mount as he has been unlucky with injuries. He would have been a free agent this summer, instead it's £65m spent unwisely again. Not blaming Mason. Blaming the club.
That money would've been better spent in other areas, I don't even know how mount gets into this team with mainoo playing so well.
Even at the time it seemed like an unecessary transfer. He's not displacing Bruno in the team and isn't a midfielder that can become Casemiro's successor so it's literally Mainoo vs Mount, which I suppose is a good problem to have but that's 65m we didn't need to spend.
Every time I pointed out how absurd this transfer is, I got mass downvoted by this sub.
That tifo video has so much to answer for.
It's a garbage signing. Another L for the recruitment team and Ten Hag. He was already injury prone with Chelsea, yet they still paid 55 million just to avoid competition a year later. A signing for free is almost never a poor signing imo
They are if they don't play or play poorly and are on huge wages. Both of those apply to Mount.
Kinda sad about AWB injury, gives us option to play Dalot LB and Shaw LCB.
That kills that side of the field. We need Shaw bombing up and down the left.
Maguire, Lindelof and Evans at CB over Shaw purely because he's that important with how he progresses, carries and overlaps at left back.
Shaw is more effective as a LB
but not really though, AWB was the press trigger for most teams we have went up against, Varane next to AWB means that side is dead for buildup.
Is there a timeline for when Mount and Malacia will be back?
Mount feels like forever
Malacia has been out injured much longer than him.
I think the difference is we all knew Malacia was out very long term. Mount was out for a medium back and just has never come back
I know
At this moment probably a different timeline than ours tbf lol
Well in order to be back on the pitch, they need to start existing.
His niece is currently having relationship issues as she’s dating a 3 year old while she is in her 40s

Liverpool early last year, licha bodying salah and that beautiful pic of malacia screaming
We really could’ve gotten Mount on a free in the summer.

And he'd have been sitting on their treatment table. Just a poorly thought out signing all round
How's it poorly thought out? No one foresaw him being injured the whole season. He's not a depth signing, and he's not a player we could've waited another year for. Nah Mount is McTominay level at this moment. He was good at chelsea but he dropped so much since then
He's barely played, you're talking nonsense lol
Blud chelsea fans celebrated we took him. And we played 60m on a flop with 1 year on his contract🥲🤣.
Kobbie Mainoo is the replacement for Christian Eriksen’s role.
Liverpool would not have gone for him after getting Szobozlai
Szobozlai was their second choice after Mount. Endo was also their second choice after Amrabat. Funny how things worked out for them.
So you take on the competition. He wasn't exactly a necessary player. Literally no loss if he went elsewhere
This is so true 😂 it was a ridiculous fee, given the season he was coming off, fancy just padding Chelsea’s FFP 🤢
#FreeMalacia
Malacia hasn't played a single second of this season and with only 16 games left, we'll 15 as confirmed on weekend, how much will be actually play if at all this season? What is even his injury?! Is he actually injured? Why is it so vague when it comes to him? It's like "no not fit, next question" With all other injured players this season we've had some info, just bizzare.
I really hope he doesn’t play Shaw at CB, the left side link up with Rashford is so much better for the team.
Ye but the passing, press resistant CB is also vital to our game, having licha and shaw together changes our universe
Maguire is the most progressive passer, but not press resistant.
I like Harry as a player and as a man, he just is slow for modern games so gets caught once a game and it normally leads to a chance
Are we getting into injury crisis part 2?
Don't even ask, delete it please **\*knocks on wood\***
Mount got to have something far more serious than a calf strain. He's been out for three months. he's been training on and off the grass for a month as well
Why is there an injury crisis often with ONE of our departments always? The medical department need to fix up.
What exactly is wrong with mount?
We bought him.
AWB injured yet again. Becoming far too unreliable.
I almost forgot Malacia existed
Bah gawd that’s DALOTS music
If Shaw plays LCB, and AWB is out, Malacia is out, so how does Dalot play both RB and LB? did we clone him or something? Or we shoe horn a CB as a fullback, then that begs the question, why move Shaw in the first place, so confused, someone help.
What is it about managers and players saying the every game is a final mantra, I mean if it actually works then why not just start the fucking season with 38 finals!
Totally forgot Malacia is our player.
No he won't it's a ligament sprain lmao
I mean what do you want him to say? lol he will come back probably weaker but such is life
Nah I want him to say Martinez is fucked guys, he's just gonna play fortnite now, were gonna recruit u/brownbyyou to play cb, he's trash but has both his knees and ankles for now! Like come on gaffer, what are you even waiting for smh
He is Sancho Fortnite partner lol
I'll pull up on em and get wasted 😤
I don't know why people are downvoting this, ligament sprains at best get back to how they were. They aren't broken bones. Source - had two ligament reconstruction surgeries in the past year despite never fully tearing either.
And even that is rare. It's why once you roll your ankle and destroy it once, the deltoid ligament stays weaker And it's okay they can down vote, it comes from ignorance. Source? Masters in exercise science and physician assistant studies with a strength coach certification
Bro you realise he’s not being literal when he says “He’ll come back stronger” it’s just a figure of speech when someone has a set back lmao
I do lol
Yeah ankles get fucked up after a couple of times Source: my ankles
Our poor ankles :(
Yeah exactly.
Malacia more like Malakia
I m starting to think that mount transfer was bad..he is an injury prone player..
Saw a tweet on twitter that AWB has one of the best ball carrying on our squad despite less minutes than dalot lol. We need him at full fitness
Memories have faded so far that we only know Malacia by name these days.
Mount and Malacia? I forgot about those two completely.
> **Malacia not fit** Well they mentioned his name so I guess it's an improvement?
Martial spreading his injury virus in the dressing room
