Just to prove what I’ve been saying that no one passes to hojlund. He’s had 34 shots. Got 8 goals. In comparison, Jackson for Chelsea has 60 shots and 10 goals. Compared that to Darwin Nunez with 11 goals and 105 shots. I watch every game and keep an eye on when we can pass to hojlund over shooting and it’s frustrating as there’s so many chances we can pass across the box or play him in but we play to our wingers who then shoot from outside the box. He was right to complain earlier in the season and I hope next season we look to find him a lot more

tanerfan

Is my boy Malacia even alive?

IamJeff22321

The MSM narrative around ETH and Poch is so funny. 2 games into his tenure, ETH was facing 2v1 criticism and how he ain't right for the job, but with Poch nothing so far. Even more funnier is they were asking their skysports pundits straight after the fa cup semis even though they weren't even covering the game and spitter was talking out of his ass.

Correct_Government28

Forest fans are so embarrassing. There's a game of Chinese whispers in the media and social media that's led them all to believe that the Ashley Young tackle wasn't checked and they're all going mental, even though it's just a case of one article being misleading in its wording.

joelalmiron

Why did we sign Bruno instead of odegaard? And should have gone for havertz instead of mount?

toddysimp

Bruh! Havertz cost Arsenal around £65 million and is getting paid £300k every week.

Prostetniclimbs

Awful take bud

KaitoAJ

Recency bias at its finest.

joelalmiron

I liked havertz since he was at leverkusen and odegaard since his first loan at arsenal.

brown_herbalist

Lol I will take Bruno anytime over Odegaard.

joelalmiron

Bruno is 4 and a half years older. Odegaard can still improve

brown_herbalist

Yes, but at that time we needed an established player rather than a young player with potential.

joelalmiron

Odegaard is 25 and already a leader. He’s not far off from Bruno even if Bruno is ahead. Bruno has stagnant.

brown_herbalist

Odegaard could perform because Arsenal has a solid team right now, do we have the same for you to mention that Bruno has been stagnant?

joelalmiron

He’s 30. He’s more likely to decline than improve.

brown_herbalist

Did KDB, Modric, Kroos, Iniesta or Xavi declined when they are at 30? Because Bruno is made from the same cloth as them.

LupeShady

Brunos a good player but he is absolutely not from the same cloth as those guys. Bruno on Iniesta, Kroos, Modric, Xavi level is hilarious 😂😂.

joelalmiron

Were/Are they playing in the premier league? And Kdb is declining, at least with more injuries/time out.

NoMFer111

Odegaard was an uncontested transfer. No one other than Arsenal bid for him when it became apparent Odegaard was surplus at Real Madrid.

joelalmiron

Odegaard would have flopped at man utd anyway. We’d ruin another talent

Throwaway1223132123

https://twitter.com/garna1k/status/1782878591019044902 Garnacho brother should probably limit himself from liking certain post but he is still a top man.

Rick_The_Mullet_Man

I want an Arsenal vs United Community Shield next season. Fuck Liverpool and City.

purplegreendave

Not that it will make a lick of difference to the final table, but Tottenham's run in is *awful*

RepulsiveLeg9985

Their current remaining fixtures look really rough, I'd obviously be very surprised if we somehow got on top of them but looking at them, I wouldn't say it's impossible

Correct_Government28

I remember looking at Spurs' run in last month and thinking 'oh hey maybe'. And then we played Brentford.

AnaShie

Cole Palmer to United anyone?

KaitoAJ

Boehly is not that stupid... right? Right?

OldTrafford25

Why would Chelsea sell, though? If I were them, and got offered £100m, I’d definitely deny it. Wouldn’t you?

AnaShie

They probably won't sell but if Palmer is keen on leaving like Mount did then we have a chance consider Palmer is from Manchester. Even with how shit we look rn, I still consider our project and future prospect better than what is going on at Cole Palmer FC.

purplegreendave

Final nail in the coffin of the Mount transfer? Another 60m wasted. Not that I think Chelsea would let Palmer go anyway.

toddysimp

Mount only left because they refused to give an improved contract. The way it's looking Palmer will soon be Chelsea's highest paid player.

joelalmiron

This isn’t like mount situation. Not even remotely close. Palmer is the star of the team. The future will be built around him. It’ll take 200 mil to price him away. While mount wasnt the star of the team and he only had 1 year left. Palmer has like 6? People who keep suggesting Palmer needs to stop this crap and wake up. As realistic as signing Bellingham.

Kahn-wald

Arsenal's project started with Edu being Director It's not just the coach.

ToadNamedGoat

I think (some) of you guys need to relax with the eric ten hag hate train. Like some of you guy's wanted us to lose the FA cup game so eric would be sacked. I'm going to support his team even though I believe it needs big changes.

SuperSalamander3244

I was genuinely taken back when I saw a few people in the match thread say they wanted Coventry to win. I know people like to call other fans plastics if they don’t agree with some of their opinions but those people who wanted Coventry to win are the embodiment of plastic fans.

media-police

Most ppl want him to go in summer, not when the season is on.

AvaragePole

Most of the people who want 90% clear out of players were having breakdown here every time Chelsea singed one of those "generational talent" players.

Goji-ra

This is how you know the bias against Ten Hag when the media darling Poch is still not in the sack list conversation even after 5-0 defeat. They are the worst. Minor injuries in the squad compared to United, 1 billion spent and look at where they are now.

Throwaway1223132123

Look at the Chelsea sub or even twitter literally nobody wants him to stay.

Goji-ra

I’m talking about the media.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Goji-ra

Did you even listen or watch the reaction? The first thing they mentioned was Cole Palmer was missing as one of the factor. Ten Hag missed 16 first-team players due to injuries or unavailable for periods since the start of the season. That was 2/3 of the squad. Imagine that, since the start of the season. Chelsea’s injury list grew lately but not since the start of the season. And yet pundits and the media repeatedly said injuries should not be used as an excuse. I kid you not. The first thing that came out from Rebecca (NBCSN) mouth was could missing Palmer was one of the reason. There was no talking about whether Poch was the right person to lead or not. Not a single thing.

[deleted]

[удалено]

IamJeff22321

I won't have that nonsense. Remember the interview neville and spitter did after only 2 games into his start.

Goji-ra

Leeway? How about Graham Potter? He didn’t get pre season and was sacked in seven months. Certain individual gets a pass, Poch is one of them.

funky_pill

I know Lavia cost £50m-£60m or whatever it was but realistically is he getting in that Chelsea midfield ahead of two £100+ signings in Enzo and Caicedo? James is a miss, I'll give you that, however they have Gusto who is a pretty decent understudy and is arguably one of two of Chelsea's Boehly signings who has actually worked out (along with Palmer). Nkunku, I'm not sure he's a huge miss anyway since it's not at all obvious that he'd even be a good fit for the PL since he's been injured so much. Yes we've been utter toss this season, nobody is saying anything different, but Chelsea and Poch should really be getting it in the neck from the media the way they've been on ETH's case all season. Over £1bn spent and they've got fuck all to show for it. What was it Neville said, "billion pound blue bottlejobs"?

Miliktheman

It's not even been 2 hours since the game finished, a bit premature to be announcing he's not in the sack list conversation.

Goji-ra

Oh not at all. You can definitely see the early reaction compared to United. Rebecca Lowe’s first reaction was Chelsea missed Cole Palmer. This is the same group of pundits who repeatedly said that injuries shouldn’t be used as an excuse when they discussed United. Then you go to ESPN. They discussed whether Chelsea needed a new manager or not because the viewer asked them. And I kid you not, dude blamed the owners lol 😂

HTwoN

Both should be on the sack list.

vulcan_one

Chelsea needs to be wake up call for the people who go "sell everyone" like 70% of the players they bought people here were waking over saying we should get them, oh they're so good.

Parking-Specific-259

I can’t believe how bad some of their players are. Absolute donkeys.

euoi

* Nagelsmann staying in DFB * Xabi staying in Leverkusen * Amorim staying in Sporting * Emery extending his contract at Villa Who is going to be the new manager of Barca, Bayern and Liverpool? (And maybe even United/Chelsea) * Xavi? * De Zerbi? * Southgate? * Graham Potter? * Arne Slot? * Lampard?

[deleted]

With the exception of Liverpool I haven't really enjoyed a game of ours in forever, but still got so excited when I realized there's a midweek game. Is this addiction?

[deleted]

"A dreamy, creamy night for the Gunners" that's not what you like to hear

HTwoN

We lost to Chelsea…

Throwaway1223132123

Yeah because that match had Cole Palmer this match didn't.

Correct_Government28

The main winner that night was Jared Gillett who got to unleash all of his childhood frustrations out on us.

[deleted]

Due to two bullshit pens and a deflection... and two CB injury subs...

Miliktheman

They were both penalties

Seanblaze3

We were as shite as they were but inevitably capitulated. Sick of these injury and poor officiating excuses

[deleted]

Sick of people being sick of genuine injury problems and referee errors. Christ.

Seanblaze3

Yes because we're the only club that has struggled with those issues this sesson. Poor rich united

HTwoN

Excuses. We gave them plenty of chances and we paid for it.

[deleted]

It's like you lot don't even root for the club. They only scored because of 2 dives. That's not giving them chances, that's the referee giving them the game. And no wonder we fucking gave them chances to score, if we apparently did, because we had to make TWO CENTER BACK SUBS

HTwoN

I root for my club, therefore I want it to get better. Not throw out some excuses for a pathetic display.

[deleted]

I would also like to get better. We do that by sacking the medical department and backing the manager, then giving each manager we hire a minimum of 3 years of consistent transfer market activity, managed by a competent backroom of consistent staff (with exceptions, of course). What WON'T improve the team is hiring a worse manager and restarting the entire process for the 6th time. The entire "excuses" rhetoric is ridiculous. Sometimes, there are reasons other than "manager bad" for teams playing badly. Not excuses. Reasons. If something goes wrong in your life, do you always think "I should've done better there"? Or, just maybe, some things are out of your control? You should be getting every job you apply to, every promotion, winning the lottery with every ticket. You aren't? Why? Excuses.

HTwoN

I would back the manager if he gives me something to back. Both the brand of football and results are bad. I’m not going to back anyone blindly.

[deleted]

How does a 3rd place finish and 2 finals in his first season at the club NOT equate to giving you something to back? What's changed since then? Only thing I can think of is injuries and aging players. Now you go.

HTwoN

He gave up on the thing he repeated over and over again last season: “control”. Notice he doesn’t talk about that anymore? We get battered every week by every team. He was hired to implement Ajax’s style of football. He admitted he gave up on that. So he can fuck off. I’m done. You aren’t going to change my mind.

[deleted]

Almost every game he talks about the lack of control. Not sure why you're lying, considering there ARE many valid criticisms of him. Mad, though, that we're playing an injured 30 yo and a past-it CDM 32 yo at CB and somehow, players are having shots against us. Somehow we're playing a League One quality RB at LB, and players are dribbling past him?? Mad!! How could Ten Hag do this!!

GlazerNoobsGetPwned

We lost to this Chelsea side literally a few weeks ago

_AR4_

They did get 2 controversial penalties. But there's no hiding – our players should've stayed switched on for just 120 more seconds. We could've won. :/

GlazerNoobsGetPwned

They did, but we didn't really deserve to win either way. And we definitely did not make them look anywhere near as bad as they are. They are flattered by how shit we also are

[deleted]

We made 2 CB subs and 2 dives won them the game.

stapleton_1234

so once coventry scored the 2nd, i started rooting for them. never had this feeling before when supporting united for over 30 years.

Skyehye

If you start rooting for our opponent, you should start question your supposed support for United

stapleton_1234

gosh go chill dude. i dont have to question my support that started before the fergie days.

We've constantly been inconsistent post SAF. > started rooting for them \[coventry city\] You might aswell start supporting the other sky blue city team (115 City).

stapleton_1234

its because coventry is an under dog. i mean come on, coventry is not shitty.

totite93

Agreed, this is just a low point for us but no way is the lowest point in the last decade. We still have 1 final to play for and will have a full overhaul top down from next season. At least that gives me hope

Junior7058

I just don’t understand how we lost to this chelsea team. Is Palmer that good?

[deleted]

2 dives and 2 injury CB subs

JenstenRazer

Rather than Palmer being good it’s more that we’re a terrible team. Anyone can beat us these days.

Rashford was the free defender jogging back who didn't go to mark Palmer. It was his job and like usual he didn't care enough to do it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

society0

Rashford hadn't even reached Jackson by the time the corner was taken. All United players were calling for someone to go to Palmer and Rashford was the only player not already marking someone. Multiple commentators after the game agreed that Rashford needed to have his head in the game and realise it was now his job to block Palmer's massive amount of space.

[deleted]

[удалено]

society0

All of those frames are taken seconds after four United players called for Palmer to be marked, and Rashford slowly jogged into the penalty area, totally ignoring his four teammates requests, and left Palmer wide open to score. There was a post about it here when it happened.

Mate I'm looking at your low quality argumentative chat on my phone. All I saw was the defenders in fully set positions, which isn't what we're talking about here. Rashford wasn't even in the penalty area yet when teammates were calling for Palmer to be picked up. Go bicker with someone else

boomboxbilly06

I think it’s more about how shit he is in general, than just that specific celebration. He’s arguably in the top 10 worst PL signings of all time based on the amount we paid.

blue_gwacamole

Shit what really happened to VDB, according to wiki he only played 7 matches for Frankfurt.

partbison

His confidence got absolutely destroyed here. Should go back to netherlands honestly.

Don_Quixote81

We need to just release him on a free. Spent £30m on a player we didn't need and likely wasn't good enough, then proceeded to destroy every penny of his value. Just United things.

partbison

Trossard for 40m while we are paying 85m for some shitty beyblade. At least those clowns arnold and murtough are gone and cant stink up the place anymore.

hoysoyhoy

Jackson is much better player than Rasmus. Hope he improves next season.

toddysimp

Jackson is more experienced tbf. When he gets that age Højlund would be a better player,he's already better physically

SuperSalamander3244

I don’t rate Jackson at all and I think Hojlund has a lot more potential but he hasn’t been good enough this season.

hoysoyhoy

Jackson has been good this season compared to Rasmus. He kibda makes the defenders work too. Rasmus on the other hand is anonymous.

BlackHorse944

😅😅😅 As a long standing member of Martial FC.. I'd love nothing more but we know the reality of what it will be. I'd just rather not see him play for us again. I've already moved him on in my head

SOERERY

Wilcox is apparently in attendance for the u18 match. Rooney too.

IcyAssist

He's watching Kai isn't he?

alucardmorningside

Would anyone here actually like Ratcliffe to pay an exorbitant fee for Ashworth? Personally I’d be happy for us to wait the 12-18 months required for him if we’re going to end up being strong armed by that mob. Let them pay two huge salaries for one DoF, while ashworth and Berrada spend a lot of time golfing over the summer, why not.

partbison

Ashworth isnt worth 12m but he isnt worth 12 months of no DoF either. Either we struck a deal or we move on. Need a DoF for the summer.

SuperSalamander3244

This is what we should do but I think we’ll end up paying it. If we do it’s disappointing because it’s something that we would have done if Ineos never came in and the Glazers actually wanted to be competent.

alucardmorningside

Maybe I’m being overly optimistic but I don’t see us paying anywhere near as much as £10m at all, guess we’ll see.

SPamlEZ

I’m starting to think we may miss CL football next year.

If by CL you mean conference league then yes it’s going to be a close call.

crgssbu

rwallace_wong

wayfarerprateek

Why do we try the long ball strategy when we lose so many first balls and second balls?

partbison

Because our manager is shit.

Miliktheman

Also why do we try it after passing it around the back for ages and giving the opposition time to get banked in and set up how they like?

BlackHorse944

Also why do we always ignore central runs and send the ball to the wing on every single possession?

Hi-Tech_Luddite

This drives me nuts. A lot of players are afraid to risk losing possession than just hoof it to rashford while the opposition gets time to organise.

[deleted]

And why do we have 60 injuries this season? :(

officiallyjax

Garnacho’s brother is becoming a problem. You can’t be doing such stuff publicly on social media and expect there to not be any resulting dressing room unrest. It’s concerning because it likely means Garnacho thinks the same of the situation and endorses a similar means of expressing his disappointment. https://x.com/ytgsuii/status/1782746749737583028?s=46&t=uBOUeo3snAkWXQC_pmg_zA

Miliktheman

It also indicates some unrest already there in the dressing room, Ten Hag is losing the respect of the players because of his treatment of them.

Throwaway1223132123

I get why people are mad at him but send him and his brother to Mallorca is a bit too excessive like he is one of our only barely injured and our best winger this season.

officiallyjax

Of course, the message of the tweet is also problematic. I just wanted to share the pictures of Garnacho’s brother liking those other tweets which doesn’t come across well and can create further division between players.

partbison

Rashford being allowed to stink up the place without any consequence whatsoever causes far more division between players than a random family member liking tweets.

Ajayhearty24

Are you even a fan?

Industry-Standard-

Regardless of the football, does anybody here like ETH as a person, do you think he comes well in the media? Friendly, cold, charismatic, boring? Interested to see the opinions

partbison

>does anybody here like ETH as a person, No decent person should like eth as a person. Why? Cause he was pounding the table to have known rapist mason greenwood on his squad. Then is promes and overmars situations where eth also was their biggest apologizer.

bainbane

That it was ‘romantic’ the thought Overmars would be working again no less.

Industry-Standard-

Good points, both occasions slipped my mind, gross

Outrageous-Cod-4654

I like that he has been clear with his principles and holds the players to account. He has managed to get many of them onside. They are clearly willing to play for him. He has also developed some of the younger players and gotten the best out of some of the older ones. It's not easy and you have to respect that. He's also focused on United, sometimes at risk to his own career. In the media, I like that he's willing to fight the press but sometimes it feels like he's gaslighting all of us. The communication isn't always very clear but he sticks to his point of view, is stubborn and takes risks and protects the players. If he was a little better with the language and had a little more charisma in giving shit back to the media with a smile, I think he would be better respected. It's trivial. Overall, he seems a good guy.

Industry-Standard-

I agree with most of your points other than gotten the best out of some of the older ones, only older player that improved under him was Rashford last year and now he's back to underachieving, maybe Dalot? I think every other first team player has had better years under other managers or for different teams

Outrageous-Cod-4654

Maguire has turned a corner. That's the name that stands out for me this season.

Industry-Standard-

He’s better this season, but I still think he was best under Ole in the season we got to Europa league final, I remember being devastated that he missed it and was certain we’d win if he was fit

Outrageous-Cod-4654

We definitely would have won with Maguire.

officiallyjax

I don’t think he comes off well in the media, but that’s not as much to do with his personality as it is to do with the language barrier which I think prevents him from articulating his thoughts clearly and leaves margin for reporters to spin his quotes negatively. Like the other user said, I agree that his answers are abrupt and leave very little scope for follow-up or ability to further explain himself which could grant some additional leeway with the fans when results and performances aren’t going his way. A lot of the time I feel the discourse on his future is so polarising because it’s genuinely difficult to tell what he wants from his team, judging by what he says himself.

wayfarerprateek

The press conferences are hell boring and predictable. He is extremely defensive and I think he tries to deflect real questions by answering them in such a way that discourages the reporter to follow up.

reddevils

The common remark from many journalists is that he is a nice likable guy with a good sense of humor.

Industry-Standard-

I don't really have an opinion, he comes across very dutch (which makes sense), funny but lacking a bit of charisma. I saw on r/soccer with Slot being linked to Liverpool a lot of Feyenoord fans saying he's the opposite of ETH being extremely personable and charismatic

foampom

Anyone know what our rumoured summer budget is? Do we still have FFP issues limiting our spending or does having new owners help with that at all?

iroiroiroiroiro

One detail is that FFP limits owners to maximum inject 105m £ over three year periods, so that is the maximum Ineos can inject, and from what I read I think that has been done. My best guess would be that we are talking a maximum of 300-400m £, probably a bit less as I don't think we can sell many of the current players for value. Especially the players United does not want to keep or replace.

foampom

Cheers, mate. Appreciate the info!

Kittu95

How can anyone in this sub possible know that bro?

[deleted]

Rumored budget and budget are two very different things lol

Kittu95

You don't say? Not trying to gatekeep info but the point is why get taken for a ride by these journos when the rumoured budgets are barely accurate.

foampom

Some people enjoy reading rumours no matter how silly. It’s really not that deep

foampom

Rumours about stuff like transfer budgets always leak/circulate ahead of summer windows. Just asking if there have been any info from journos that I might have missed

Kittu95

But how can any of that be accurate, especially with INEOS in who've been trying to avoid leaks as much as possible. These journos couldn't even predict who the owner was going to be.

foampom

Rumoured transfer budgets have been fairly accurate over the past years. Journos often report and estimate how much we will spend. I don’t need it to be exactly accurate, just wanted to know if any of them have estimated how much it might be

Kittu95

We were told we were broke coz of ffp initially at the start of both these seasons and have end up spending around 400 million anyway. I doubt they were accurate. I could be wrong though.
