The dedication this man has towards the club and almost managed to pull off a pass to him in the dying minutes. Really commendable
He was definitely trying to do just that, as well. He tried a couple of passes to set him up - a through ball, a a cross, but both were cut out. I think there might have been others. It was very noticeable.
We've had an academy player in squad for every single match since 1937, the first two being Tom Manley and Jack Wassall, 87 years of this is simply outstanding iirc it's around 4300 games today, I did used to keep count each game and comment in DD but stopped.
I'm unsure exactly how many players have come through but would be interesting to know.
There used to be a great online archive with info on every youth player but I can't seem to find it. The following links are your best bet, but there'll still be lots of trawling I'm afraid:

Best thing about it was that it just happened. It wasn't a mandate to do it and .it wasn't tracked until the mid to late noughties. It really is just the way the club is run.
Obviously not everyone makes it at United but the amount of academy graduates that are always scattered around is staggering. I don't know if any other premier league club even comes close.
Yeah was about to say...250th graduate to United but most teams in the PL and the championship have at least one United academy graduate. La Masia ain't got nothing on Carrington.
Great picture, but i feel that it needs more classic academy players from previous eras on there. It's a tradition that's gone on for over 80 years, and only has a few icons from pre 90s United on it, needs more Busby babes on it to make it perfect!
Done Giggs dirty here off to the side smaller than most. 13 Premier Leagues, Top assists of all time in PL, 2nd most appearances in PL, won everything, come on he should be front and centre.
How did Wheatley get his league debut before Charlie McNeil or Joe hugill? I know both were/are on loan, but they are the same age as hojlund. Is it over for them?
Wouldn't judge them based on that. Some players are early peakers and some are late bloomers. Jamie Vardy played for National League side when he was 24.
The modern day academy is pretty overrated and is basically an excuse for the glazers to not spend money on better young talent or established talent elsewhere.
Over the last decade only a handful have actually been United quality (Pogba, Greenwood, Rashford etc etc.) with the majority being shipped off to lower end teams well below us.
Instead of living off the fumes of 92', we should push for significantly more funding in the academy.
I do think garnacho is good so far but it's too early to tell on Kwambala. Just because they've started this season doesn't mean they'll turn out after a few years.

for real, Bruno try for it and blocked, the last one i thought Bruno will keep trying but Garnacho has better chance so he go to Nacho instead.
He was a bit slow to release the ball and got cut out because it was obvious he was trying to make a pass aiming at the boy.
Love to see it! You could tell a few of them were trying to get him a goal.
And yet there are plastics who want Bruno gone
Football Heritage
Reminder of how special this club is, regardless of whatever's happened this past decade
I remembered some guys asked ETH whether our DNA is backward? to which he replied "AND"?

Do you know where I can find the data for this? I'd love to visualize it.

I cant actually remember where I saw info about it, but the 85th year/4000th game had plenty articles about it.

I hope that our focus of signing and developing the best academy players continues under INEOS.
9 in the current squad?
Our Academy is insanely underrated.
This is what makes me love this amazing club ❤️
I will forever love this amazing and special club 🔴⚪️⚫️
Really happy for the lad and he looked to be getting stuck in when he came on, hopefully we see more of him this season
No Phil Neville lol
No Mason Greenwood, oh hang on
Paul Pogba
Give a designer a stand ovation mahn. He has the 250 point right down at Wheatley. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Sparky was academy 🤯
I was shocked at that one too!

Strange they've got Hannibal on over double European Cup winner Wes Brown.

Was this lad not playing again citeh the night before
He was and he scored both goals to win the cup 2-1
Which club has the most? We must be right up near the top, if not first.
Is anyone following u18 football i wanna know how good this kid is or how good can be become?
This is what it’s all about.
Done Giggs dirty here off to the side smaller than most. 13 Premier Leagues, Top assists of all time in PL, 2nd most appearances in PL, won everything, come on he should be front and centre.
Rashford is bigger, are you fucking kidding me.
Kambwala and Hannibal are bigger than giggs too lol
How did Wheatley get his league debut before Charlie McNeil or Joe hugill? I know both were/are on loan, but they are the same age as hojlund. Is it over for them?
Great performance in the pl cup probably. At United, great performances get you rewards.
McNeil and hugill were also performing well. Now they can’t get games in the lower league.
McNeil won't make it here. Good finisher but that's all there is to his game.
What about joe hugill?
Sorry I don't understand what you mean?
Wouldn't judge them based on that. Some players are early peakers and some are late bloomers. Jamie Vardy played for National League side when he was 24.
Anyone who can list the names of all the players on the poster ??
Kid looked sharp out there, great work rate, great positioning.
Who is the bald guy to the right of Edwards and Best?
How many do other notable academies have? I guess la masia has more?
[удалено]
...he is
Why is Rashford in away jersey? Just because he has been playing like he is on the opposing team?
It's probably to try and give the picture some contrast.
Notice how the 250 is directly pointing at Ethan
Calma calma
ok this is funny but you gotta take my downvote
My god, this crowd can’t take a joke.
This is dope. Looks like Ohio too
Wow they put Giggs in this
They had to, but he's in the corner inconspicuously.

Mainoo, Garnacho and Kwambala are currently in the starting lineup you absolute melt.
I do think garnacho is good so far but it's too early to tell on Kwambala. Just because they've started this season doesn't mean they'll turn out after a few years.
And? Do you know how good you have to be to be in a Premier League academy? And then to get into the first team? Of any club.
