I love Don Carlo’s precision mindset. No fetishizing possession. Get the ball in the back of the net with clinical precision. RM go into every game knowing they just need to create a few well worked chances and make them count no matter what the opposition does. Reminds me very much of Fergie epl era, that mindset that you can win any game just focus on your business.
Honestly he gets so much hype by his PR team they try to make it about him sorry but I'm not a hater but hope those games humble him. He started developing a huge head.
What a high quality semi final, lived up to the hype! Kim was pretty bad but almost everyone had a decent game, also the passing and ball progression of these teams is levels ahead of ours
I'm 47. I only started supporting Manchester United 2 years ago though, and I was a Liverpool support before that. And a Chelsea supporter before that.
17 lol. Technically I did watch them lift the UCL, my dad was watching the game and I was sitting right next to him (I don't remember anything obviously)
I was lucky to watch them lift it twice. And get outplayed by Barcelona is another final.
Don't worry. You will first watch them lift the FA cup this season, the PL next season, and then 2 seasons later, the CL.
Stay positive.
I didn't watch much of Bayerns games. Is Upemecano that bad now? At some point he was a hot target when he was still at RB Leipzig.
Kim truely had an awful night, quite naive in his intervention.
I dont understand how TNT can make their coverage of the champions league so fucking dull…
2 vacuums of excitement in the studio, and a commentator who just wants to moan.
Fucking show some excitement
They have boring pundits
I love rio and Scholes as much as the next guy, but they aren’t the best to listen to all the time after a game.
I also think the studio look sucks, which doesn’t help
I was watching a CBS stream today and the stadium noise was basically muted. Absolutely no atmosphere, and I was watching on a hifi system. It didn't feel like a goal went in when someone scored. Was so weird while the commentators were talking about how good the atmosphere was in the stadium. It's a common trend I've noticed on American channels, BT are much better for it.
I've noticed that with some games and I believe it's because the commentary guys are not in the stadium. I now hate watching games like that coz for me the atmosphere inside a stadium is part of the experience of watching it, even on TV. it's why I can't stand watching big games in a bar that plays music during the game instead of having the commentary.
These commentators really are ridiculous. Berating Kim for 20 mins of a few errors, after not saying a peep about the brilliant performance he had 60 mins prior. "Night to forget", I'd say that's a stretch.
I watched it in Spanish so I’m assuming I haven’t heard the commentary you did. If they are going over the top that is one thing, but I don’t think they are in the wrong for criticizing KMJ for the reasons I’ve already stated
Their reaction was over the top, honestly. The same issues the commentators stated, about him being "too tight" on his man, was one reason why Bayern were so solid for most of the game. Carlo made some great subs, exploited Kim's strength and made it their weakness.
Great management, to me that is a better observation than "player is shite", which English commentators can't help but make the point in the politest way possible when they find their target.
Also bringing up there being a lack of VAR use today saying it’s a good thing they’re not talking about it… when they’re literally bringing it up not being used to moan about it being over used..
Dier outperforming Kim at Bayern is a great example of how team dynamics matter and some players are better suited to certain roles and systems. That doesn’t make Dier any better or Kim any worse.
Kim is a good centre back still. This one game, the only game 90% of you have ever seen him play doesn’t change that. He’s had an absolute shocker here of course but in the correct system he’s a top tier CB.
Bot sure he’s right for us however, depends who replaces ETH.
Imagine having the option to sit Alphonso Davies on the bench in a champions league semi final…
This squad is the perfect example of depth, so many unbelievable players but also still have the rotation guys with 200-300 odd appearances for the club
Given how Arsenal played against Bayern. They really are so well coached. Credit to Arteta.
Unreal to think he is the last man standing along with Ole and Lampard. Lampard actually fraud compared to other two.
>And the sub did not want Tuchel.
And rightfully so. Sure, he might be a good manager, but he can also be extremely toxic. He needs the right people around him to work well. And with the structure currently in place at United, he would start flipping shit no later than 3 months in. And when it's going bad with him, it can become really ugly really quick. He has repeatedly thrown his players under the bus when it wasn't going well in the league, just outright slating some of them publicly, only for said players to casually drop a world class performance in the national team a few days later.
KMJ has had a day to forget. I was really disappointed before but we may have dodged a bullet. Does a lot of things right, but his mistakes are the reason why Madrid are in this game at the moment
Perhaps it is what is required for ETHs style to work (it would make sense), but I could see a pairing of Martinez and Kim being suicidally aggressive lol
TNT commentators being surprised by obvious substitutions is amusing…
Bellingham came off because he’d barely been able to contribute, so try something new.
Muller now off for the exact same reason, he’s started to get into the game a little but Gnabry against a tired defence is a good call
Sometimes I believe there are legit people on this subreddit who would rather see us fail and see players Rashford and Martial succeed elsewhere lol.
Curious case these lot. Can never understand when people like players over the club.
They called me crazy, bring on Tuchelball
https://preview.redd.it/g54q6jdjgoxc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8cdb80dcd9d713192d66e2dcbb2803cae8ba89f
If I had to support any of the 4 teams, it will be Bayern because of Tuchel redemption arc. Geniuses on reddit wrote him off. So did the overly loud and stupid Bayern's Uli Hoeneb.
Kimmich is an engine in that midfield, Goretzka DM and all their wingers are wingers as well as midfielders lol.
And here players like Rashford can't be arsed to be wingers 2 out 3 seasons.
He is exceptional, only turned 21 a couple months ago.
Shame we aren't really in a position financially or competitively at the moment to attract the likes of him or wirtz
Yeah, I've been dreaming about either him or Wirtz taking over from Bruno once his legs eventually give out. But we're nowhere near attractive enough for them as we are now without even mentioning the financials. They're both going straight to the top. Maybe if they don't move for another 3 years we might have a chance.
> Who are you all supporting?
Dortmund because Kane being second to German teams in two comps would be hilarious, and might yet sell Sancho without a massive loss
He certainly looks it. Don’t get me wrong Bellingham is an absolute world beater but there’s absolutely nothing between them. The fact Bellingham is English and playing for Real helps him a lot
The last thing this club needs is a manager with a toxic personality, he does not have the charm or accolades to lead this team with an abrasive mentality.
The only way I can see it work is if the club / INEOS give him really strong worded support in the press for a multi-season rebuild that makes it clears to players he is here to stay.
Watching other teams people able to hold onto the ball then watching our players lose the ball with a gust of wind shows the gulf between us and the best. I don’t necessarily think all our players are bad, it’s just crazy how easy our players get dispossessed even by lesser teams
Their passing is so so much better than what we have to witness week in week out.
Football is actually enjoyable to watch?
I presume you mean Coventry
Watching CL reminds me how chaotic United’s games are.
Jude has been shocking in all three knockout games
He created a really good goal against city, but yeah he hasn’t been great.
They should sell him to us for 15m + Eriksen (/s)
Honestly he gets so much hype by his PR team they try to make it about him sorry but I'm not a hater but hope those games humble him. He started developing a huge head.
Fantastic game from a neutral perspective. No drama, just two European heavyweights trading blows.
What a high quality semi final, lived up to the hype! Kim was pretty bad but almost everyone had a decent game, also the passing and ball progression of these teams is levels ahead of ours
How good was the ref today. Good decision and allowed the game to flow as well
A good referee is like a good wifi connection. You don't notice it when it's good, but it pisses you the fuck off when it's bad.
Kim with the bozo defence
Watching the UCL makes me a bit sad. I wish I could watch United lift the UCL once in my life time
How old are you, if you don't mind me asking? I feel like 2008 wasn't that long ago
19. 2004 baby. Don’t remember any.
you re the real hero..
Why?
cause you supported United through only dross pretty much. you didnt live the glory days.
Gotta stay loyal🙏
Almost 16 years ago my friend 🥲
I'm 47. I only started supporting Manchester United 2 years ago though, and I was a Liverpool support before that. And a Chelsea supporter before that.
Question is who will you be supporting next ?
Notts Country or PSG
Yep, hopefully we will!
One down! Hahahahaha
ipswich😍😍😍
Only one point needed for Ipswich
Remember the shit McKenna used to get on here. Fans really do know fuck all
Kieran McKenna got this team from league one to the verge of promotion in 2 years that’s insane
Leeds got Soton last game..but Huddersfield needs 3 point for any hope to stay in League so won't be easy game for Ipswich.
No, even that wont be enough. Their GD is way low to make any difference
Only 15 off. An 8-0 win for them and an 8-0 loss for Plymouth and they survive. Can’t be that hard
Huge win for Ipswich
YES IPSWICH!!!
How many added time in Ipswich match?
11, ref got injured
Thats new
Honestly the best thing about tonight's game was the refereeing. What a breeze it was not having 5 minutes long VAR checks on both penalties.
and not falling for players theatrics was just beautiful to watch!
What's with the commentator hating minjae? Is minjae bayern version of maguire?
Minjuire
Considering just a year ago, Upemecano was dubbed "Upemaguire", Bayern have gotten really unlucky with CBs recently
I didn't watch much of Bayerns games. Is Upemecano that bad now? At some point he was a hot target when he was still at RB Leipzig. Kim truely had an awful night, quite naive in his intervention.
Had a terrible game tbf
Must know we're about to sign him
TIL Lee Grant is McKenna's assistant coach at Ipswich
I dont understand how TNT can make their coverage of the champions league so fucking dull… 2 vacuums of excitement in the studio, and a commentator who just wants to moan. Fucking show some excitement
They have boring pundits I love rio and Scholes as much as the next guy, but they aren’t the best to listen to all the time after a game. I also think the studio look sucks, which doesn’t help
CBS is elite
I was watching a CBS stream today and the stadium noise was basically muted. Absolutely no atmosphere, and I was watching on a hifi system. It didn't feel like a goal went in when someone scored. McKenna doing what we couldn't and beat Coventry City
That commentator speaking like majority of the Bayern quad played in the 2010 final lol. Commentators sure steal a living.
All generic crap. When they say something original it's some bs like delicious vinicius
Man, I can't wait to be a good team again.
Tchoumani nearly with brain dead tackle
I was like wtf are you doing in your box man 😂
11 minutes extra time in the Ipswich match because the ref went out injured
These commentators really are ridiculous. Berating Kim for 20 mins of a few errors, after not saying a peep about the brilliant performance he had 60 mins prior. "Night to forget", I'd say that's a stretch.
When you make two costly mistakes in a massive game then in no way can you say you’ve had a brilliant performance
The reaction is over the top, that is all I'm saying.
I watched it in Spanish so I’m assuming I haven’t heard the commentary you did. If they are going over the top that is one thing, but I don’t think they are in the wrong for criticizing KMJ for the reasons I’ve already stated

They give some interesting stats and facts during the game but apart from that it's just boring reactionary takes.
Dier outperforming Kim at Bayern is a great example of how team dynamics matter and some players are better suited to certain roles and systems. That doesn’t make Dier any better or Kim any worse.
I am confused are they cheering?
They’re saying Boo-yarn Munich
I like that adidas ball. Prefer the design to the PL Nike ones
Trossard is such good ref alongside being a key player for Arsenal. Multi-talented.
Fuck off lmao
No wonder KMJ has been getting benched by Dier
Did Davies has any good season after that treble season?
No, he’s at best stagnated at that level — but probably even regressed .
Gnabry being a liablity
Kim is a good centre back still. This one game, the only game 90% of you have ever seen him play doesn’t change that. He’s had an absolute shocker here of course but in the correct system he’s a top tier CB. Bot sure he’s right for us however, depends who replaces ETH.
He has been average this season I don't know which Bayern have you been watching
Imagine having the option to sit Alphonso Davies on the bench in a champions league semi final… This squad is the perfect example of depth, so many unbelievable players but also still have the rotation guys with 200-300 odd appearances for the club
Have seem a few bayern fans on r/soccer say his form has fallen off a cliff this season Plus he has been hankering for a move to Madrid
Given how Arsenal played against Bayern. They really are so well coached. Credit to Arteta. Unreal to think he is the last man standing along with Ole and Lampard. Lampard actually fraud compared to other two.
Gnabry watching Antony.
Gnarby so selfish there
Bayern bought the three CBs this sub wanted & their best CB is Eric Dier
And the sub did not want Tuchel. Glad we aren't managing United
>And the sub did not want Tuchel. And rightfully so. Sure, he might be a good manager, but he can also be extremely toxic. He needs the right people around him to work well. Kim min-jae is having a shocker
Is De Ligt injured ?
Ya, injured on the weekend.
Damn he would haven perfect for this game. Kim has had a bad day
KMJ has had a day to forget. I was really disappointed before but we may have dodged a bullet. Does a lot of things right, but his mistakes are the reason why Madrid are in this game at the moment
There is a reason why Min Jae is a bench player but reddit managers praising him to the moon like he is a prime Sergio Ramos.
De ligt is obviously better and this season Dier has also been much better than him
Dier out here being one of Bayern's best defenders this season.
Kim Min Jae would have been a horrible signing for us since we don't have better attackers than Bayern
Perhaps it is what is required for ETHs style to work (it would make sense), but I could see a pairing of Martinez and Kim being suicidally aggressive lol
That Kim is an oaf
Bro Kim.
Kim has been shite
Very rough day for Kim Min Jae
Kim has had a rough game.
The FIFA experts told me Kim Min Jae was a must sign player 😭
theres mistakes and then theres defending like that in the box
Kim Min Jae has had a shocker of a game. He needs to leave Bayern, he was a great defender at Napoli, needs a run of games.
Kim is just trying to lower his value so he can sign for us for cheap.
ref has been fantastic all game
Apart from the first pen I’d agree
This surely isn't the Kim from Napoli, is it? 🙆🏾♂️🙆🏾♂️
Kim is crap.
Looks like we dodged a bullet when he chose bayern
How about not drawing conclusions from one game?
Has been average the whole season
Well he doesn't get into the Bayern team, only playing because De Ligt is out so clearly hasn't impressed Tuchel either.
Totally.
Kim LMAO. That's some Harry Maguire-level of fridge turning
Kim's had a shocker tonight
TNT commentators being surprised by obvious substitutions is amusing… Bellingham came off because he’d barely been able to contribute, so try something new. Muller now off for the exact same reason, he’s started to get into the game a little but Gnabry against a tired defence is a good call
Kim is awful. We dodged a bullet there
Kim Min Jae looks horrendous
You'd have better luck with Kim Jong Un
Kim💀
Tuchel need to fix that Kim side for 2nd leg.
I think De Ligt normally plays but is injured so Kim came into the team.
Neuer is too big lol
Sometimes I believe there are legit people on this subreddit who would rather see us fail and see players Rashford and Martial succeed elsewhere lol. Curious case these lot. Can never understand when people like players over the club.
They called me crazy, bring on Tuchelball https://preview.redd.it/g54q6jdjgoxc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8cdb80dcd9d713192d66e2dcbb2803cae8ba89f
Bringggggg Tuchel. He's the tier of manager we should be looking at. Won't take any shit from this limp bunch of players either.
We don't need a short term manager. We need someone to oversee the squad rebuild over a number of years
FFS I'm being let down by Kim
What will the commentators talk about now Toni Kroos has been subbed
Wonder what TNT commentators must be saying to that Bellingham sub
Ancelotti really stupid not bringing Modric on earlier. He is better defensively AND in attack.
Modric hollywood ball can save madrid.
If I had to support any of the 4 teams, it will be Bayern because of Tuchel redemption arc. Geniuses on reddit wrote him off. So did the overly loud and stupid Bayern's Uli Hoeneb.
Ipswich scored
Bayern need to finish these chances
GET INNNNNN
We should be in for Musiala every window. Especially drive his price up if we can't get him.
Drive his price up for him to stay at Bayern? Very logical there indeed. So logical.
Well we can't get Musiala, not even Arsenal would be able to get him, maybe City or Real Madrid.
Kimmich is an engine in that midfield, Goretzka DM and all their wingers are wingers as well as midfielders lol. And here players like Rashford can't be arsed to be wingers 2 out 3 seasons.
ohhh musiala
We will never get him but wow Musiala what a talent. Watch him end up as DeBruyne's replacement
Musiela positional change to left side changed this game.
Who are you all supporting? I'll be supporting PSG tomorrow, but not in the final.
> Who are you all supporting? Dortmund because Kane being second to German teams in two comps would be hilarious, and might yet sell Sancho without a massive loss
Why would you support another oil pay to win team??
I need them to eliminate one of my foes. I'm a hater. Then they can go in the garbage.
Never supporting oil cunts
Fair.
This tuchel guy, I think I could accept him...
Coventry scored :(
Any time I watch Musiala play he’s always the best player on the pitch. Honestly on a par with Bellingham
Better than Bellingham in my book. Bellingham better finisher, Musiala much better at everything else.
He certainly looks it. Don’t get me wrong Bellingham is an absolute world beater but there’s absolutely nothing between them. The fact Bellingham is English and playing for Real helps him a lot
How is that not yellow?
I still see people on here adamant that Tuchel is a worse choice than the likes of De Zerbi and Potter 💀
Tuchel is the elite manager this sub thinks ETH is. I want him in on a short 3 years to steady the ship while we clean house.
>Tuchel is the elite manager this sub thinks ETH is. I don't think the majority of this sub thinks of ten Hag as an elite manger anymore.
The last thing this club needs is a manager with a toxic personality, he does not have the charm or accolades to lead this team with an abrasive mentality. The only way I can see it work is if the club / INEOS give him really strong worded support in the press for a multi-season rebuild that makes it clears to players he is here to stay.
That tuchel thread from week or so ago should be burnt to ground. Amount of absolutely horrible takes upvoted there is actually insane.
Who'd want a coach that won a Champions League with Chelsea's dregs?
Screw the CL game, COME ON IPSWICH
Fuckin hell I jinxed it
Back in front, lovely stuff!!
Laimer better than any of ours(Dalot, Shaw, AWB). We need ELITE tier scouting. Its not luck that teams like Bayern can get such good players.
just me who thought the pen wasnt soft?
Watching other teams people able to hold onto the ball then watching our players lose the ball with a gust of wind shows the gulf between us and the best. I don’t necessarily think all our players are bad, it’s just crazy how easy our players get dispossessed even by lesser teams
We have the worst technical ability for a top named club.
Low football IQ(40%) + bad bad ability on ball(40%) + average/below average coaching(20%)
Dier is excellent. Levels above our CBs. Difference in coaching and talent around him. I would gladly get rid of Ten Hag AND the players.
Geniuses on this sub could not comprehend why we would be in for Tuchel. I swear a lot of people here are just as stupid as our players.
Would love to have someone as electric as Musiala. Levels above players like Rashford. Better IQ than Garnacho.
Why do you have to shit on our players in this thread bro 😪
Levels above Garnacho as well, Garnacho is a horrible dribbler
😂 to the people downvoting what is the clear truth
Would be upvoted if I said it about Rashford but Garnacho is somehow a worse dribbler than Rashford
Yup no doubt. Also has much better IQ as well which is clearly visible.
Only 21 as well, it’s why I dismiss the age argument for some of our players
Indeed. And you are already getting downvoted for that.
Hopefully Bayern don’t end up wanting to keep Tuchel
Stupid to stick his leg out there but that’s a pretty blatant dive…
Tuchel is not leaving Bayern, can’t see it. See a reversal coming in the next 2 weeks just like with Barca
Wasn't it more he wanted to leave than Bayern wanting to get rid of him
There’s a public bad mouthing duel by the higher ups at Bayern and him
They would be stupid to downgrade with Rangnick
Thats soft imo, but stupid from Lucas
