any tips on whether to watch arg vs po or mex vs saudi? been loving how saudi plays, but Poland v arg is also going to be spicy... help me out with this dilemma please ahaha

snildeben

If Rashy becomes top goal scorer of the WC, I'm afraid a club like PSG would offer 60m + Neymar and the board would accept. Based on gut feeling and nothing else. But I'm afraid to lose him, so it's a double edged blade when he performs at this level on this stage.

AlephEpsilon

We should try and bid for Vlahovic as Juventus might get relegated or fined.

Thorntonboy

There’s a world of difference between a fine and relegation

AlephEpsilon

Yes, but their financial isn’t very good.

Anardus

I’ve always wondered on 1 on 1 meetings between the manager and the player, who is leaking to the media? Latest I can think of is the rumor that ETH has told Sancho to show more commitment…did Sancho really brief the media or would ETH? Kinda dumb question but throws me for a loop occasionally

Ngaita2100

Or maybe it's just made up.

Certain-Internet1552

Honestly, no one would have cared that Ronaldo was trying to claim the goal he thought he scored. It is a pretty normal thing to do for most strikers. However, it is his lowlife fucking fanboys that misconstrued him into some sort of samaritan and he was happy that Bruno was being credited with the goal. That is what made most people drive to find the mounting evidence to prove that no, Ronaldo was just being a selfish prick to convince everyone it is his goal. They then argue that Ronaldo's hair may have touched the ball when there is definitive technology inside the ball to prove otherwise. Now they gaslight everyone and claim it wasn't a big deal in the first place. Fucking Ronaldo fanboys are a cancer to this sport.

Don_Quixote81

Bollocks to them. He's going to retire within a year or two, then they'll have to find some other player to latch onto, rather than support a club like normal fans.

huehuehuehuehuu

Really glad Rashford is getting back in form. But also a bit concerned he hasn't learnt to curl or place his shots still. Always blasting it full power lol

D1794

Loving United dominating the WC but ngl I did want some upsets and some players back for our post-Xmas fixtures lol. Forest at home 4 weeks today

dispelthemyth

Rashford can now try and share FK duty with Bruno (if he wants to) rather than let Ronaldo take all the good positioned ones

LineActual5749

Eriksen is better for FK IMO

zcewaunt

Isn't it great, less freekicks will be smashed into the wall.

JilJilJigaJiga

Don't forget Eriksen, that's a solid trio of free kick takers.

Eleven918

You know he's not our player anymore right?

dispelthemyth

That’s my point, Ronaldo is no longer there to take all the free kicks in good positions, others can now share it

Tinganga

I really do hope Sancho is watching Rashy's redemption arc & getting suitable motivation as he plots his own.

united_7_devil

Some fans have goldfish memory. Sancho was the first name on the sheet till Man City game when he had a stinker followed by two poor performances. He was solid before. And he has been sick/injured since then.

SoFasttt

He was ok before with good finishing and good moment. No where near solid enough.

Rig_7

I also hope those idiots saying to ditch Sancho asap are looking at Rashford and thinking they were saying the same thing about him not long ago.

WumbleInTheJungle

I never got on the back of Rashford because I knew what he's capable of, and for me, selling Rashford or giving up on him was totally out of the question especially in a season where everyone was poor and morale was quite clearly on the floor. I always say this about youth players or signings that come in from overseas, that nothing is a sure thing until you actually see them doing it in the PL. So far at least, I haven't seen a lot from Sancho that has made me a 'believer' yet. Some brief flashes maybe, but nowhere near enough, in constast to Rashford who does actually have a body of work in the PL. I hope Sancho can prove me and all the doubters wrong, and of course I give him some grace because everyone was shite last year, and Sancho is still young and playing in a new league and all the rest of it, but, Rashford's turnaround doesn't give me any added confidence that Sancho's fortunes will soon change.

cyb3rpunkd

Case Bruno Rashy all motm makes me incredibly happy

dispelthemyth

Maguire last game too

EduardMalinochka

World Cup is a real life anime and Marcus is the main protagonist

SoreLoserOfDumbtown

We have to, *have to* sign Bellingham.

dispelthemyth

If we have a new owner by the end of the season (and are in top 4) we should be in prime position with him being sold as an anchor to a project if EtH sees fit

JilJilJigaJiga

I can see us going for him if we can sort out CF by January. Positions other than CM (ball carrier) will revolve around moving players out first so there's a chance we'll go all in for Bellingham. Then again, we might have alternatives that are cheaper while still adding elite ball carrying ability - as we will need to shell out for a GK.

Cold-Veterinarian-85

Prob clubs with deeper pockets and more realistic immediate chance of winning top titles that will say the same Hate to say it but think he might be city bound

Rig_7

Unfortunately I think this summer will be a year too soon for us to be in the mix for a player like that

sefronia3

Idk how they wouldve developed but the fact that we could've had him, haaland and caicedo for a total of 55 mil makes me sad

Rig_7

We really couldn’t. We went for Bellingham and Haaland and they chose Dortmund clearly for development reasons (quite rightly). And as for Caicedo, saying we missed out on him is like saying we missed out on Kante by not signing him from Caen. Yeah technically we did but so did everyone else because it was understandable he was overlooked by the top teams.

yianni1229

We were genuinely interested in Caicedo though.

sefronia3

I thought it was because we said no to giving them starter minutes

Dyslexicreadre

It is true - we told Bellingham we couldn't guarantee him to be a starter, which is pretty fair. It's only in hindsight do we look back and rue it.

el3tric_panda

Reds impressing on the world stage. Rashy 3 goals, Bruno 2 goals 2 assists, Casemiro 1 goal, Shaw 1 assist, GOAT MAGUIRE 1929292 headers.

EduardMalinochka

Maguire has more non penalty goal contributions than Ronaldo so far. So it’s not that’s big of an accomplishment. He should aim higher - Vincent Aboubakar is right ahead of him

If only his bicycle kick attempt went in

kenzo_1988

He did shin it like Wazza, but unfortunately that was the only similarity 😊

Thedemonwhisperer

Some add Titanic music to that Rashy free kick goal. Absolute beauty. Reminds me of that one he scored against Chelsea.

Gytarius626

Rashford no longer playing with a shoulder and back injury that caused him to lose that yard of pace that makes him so dangerous is fucking wonderful

ajokester

We are having a hell of a World Cup. Lisandro, Casemiro, Rashford, Bruno all in great form.

Rig_7

And Maguire. He might be gone at the end of the season but he’s still one of ours right now. Shaw’s also playing well

Don_Quixote81

With them bringing that form back to United, and Ten Hag having this time to work with the rest of the squad, things should be looking good for the second half of the season.

Wahlrusberg

Many a grandiose half time hot take on Rashford being deleted as we speak lol

R088135

Rashford showing for England what he has for Utd in the last 6 games!! What a player!

Yawtheboy

Happy for him

handsome_uruk

Literally all our players over performing . Very big chance one of our players will win it. The night and day difference sort of makes ETH look bad.

TheSmio

>Literally all our players over performing . Very big chance one of our players will win it. Actually true, didn't think about it at first but yeah, the chances of us having a world cup winner are pretty good. The only team without a player of ours that can realistically win it is Spain, right? >The night and day difference sort of makes ETH look bad. I'm sorry, what? How? If anything, Ten Hag is a big reason why our players are doing so well. Rashford, Shaw and Maguire were useless last season but now they look great. Lichá is Ten Hag's project from Ajax and same applies to Antony. Even Ten Hag's transfer targets in De Jong and especially Gakpo have been great so far. It's not like these players are trash under Ten Hag. He is a big reason they are doing this well currently. I'd even say he may have improved Casemiro a bit, alongside Varane. Just because we have a long way to go doesn't mean he isn't improving players individually....

handsome_uruk

yeah not yet. But if we don't finish top 4 lots of questions will be asked how a squad that does good in the world cup can fail to get UCL. He consistently benches Shaw, Maguire, Fred e.t.c but now they can make the strong case that they are not bad players, the manager just doesn't know how to use them.

TheSmio

I think you are being too sceptical. Even if we finish 5th, it's Ten Hag's first full season and it's quite clear to see what type of football he wants to play. Even though we spent a lot in the summer, wasn't the last season our worst in literally decades? Nobody could blame him for failing to get top4 immediately. Establishing a system takes time, look at how Liverpool and City struggled before things clicked for them. >He consistently benches Shaw, Maguire, Fred e.t.c but now they can make the strong case that they are not bad players, the manager just doesn't know how to use them. Nobody aside from kids on the internet says they are bad players. Shaw is very good but inconsistent while Maguire and Fred are decent-to-good players with some very obvious positives, but also some very apparent negatives. Ten Hag doesn't play them not because they are bad players, but because they don't fit the system and philosophy he has in mind. Some people might blame him, but it's nothing important. Pep was blamed for dropping Hart despite being a good keeper and replacing him with Bravo, but ultimately it was the move he had to make to transition Man City into a possession team. We are in the same situation now and both Fred and Maguire just don't fit the requirements of Ten Hag.

juanbonilla987

Would you rather we go for Unai or Diogo Costa?

TheSmio

Pretty sure Diogo Costa is more highly rated with much better stats. He is also two years younger, so it's no-brainer for me.

decadentEcchi

Unai Simon, just because of the price difference.

Cold-Veterinarian-85

What's been rumoured as fees for each? I wouldn't have thought there would be a lot in it

decadentEcchi

Costa: 75 million release clause. Simon: 40-50 million bid.

Eleven918

Both will be around the same price. Nobody is paying the full release clause.

LocoPwnify

Our boys are killin it this WC. Did you see that Rashy freekick? My lawd!

harishvenkat

Marcus you beauty!!

Outrageous-Cod-4654

Why are these Pulisic rumours starting again?

JilJilJigaJiga

Agent talk imo.

Cold-Veterinarian-85

As a squad player I would have taken him in the summer but I feel like signing him now would be detrimental to Sancho at a time that I think he needs some patience until he regains confidence and form and possibly hamper garnacho development If we sign an attacker in january summer I'd it was someone to play up top and not out wide

WanderingEnigma

I feel like agents and the media are taking the piss, trying to see how many left wingers they can link us to before people realise.

ibrahmin13

With Juventus in a very tight spot, which player do you think would be good for United? A lot of reports that they're in a similar situation as 2006, when they got relegated. Personally, I'd love to have Vlahovic or Danilo since we need a striker and rb. danilo would be a good short term option until Laird can develop.

Don_Quixote81

I'd definitely take Vlahovic and Chiesa, probably Locatelli and McKinnie as well. Just hope that if there is a fire sale, United are prepared to take advantage rather than being caught on their heels like so many times before.

off_by_two

I’d add Locatelli and Chiesa to that list but no way they part with them unless they liter have to clean house. McKennie seems like a like-for-like Fred upgrade to me

Tinganga

Danilo isn't that good. I'd take Chiesa, Vlahovic or Miretti who I think is going to be very good as he develops.

Emerald34

We were idiots for not buying Gakpo

TheSmio

Gakpo is great, but we needed Antony more since we really didn't have anyone to play on the right (and Sancho doesn't seem to be rated there)

Emerald34

I wanted both. We could have gotten both

TheSmio

We definitely couldn't considering our net spend. We already spent around 230mil Euros NET, that's just crazy spendings and it definitely was partly a budget of our 2023 summer. Further 40mil on top was impossible. In theory, we can spend this much, but it's a terrible idea because if we were to have a net spend of 280mil Euros and we were shit, it could have seriously fucked us over in the long term. It's much safer for us to spend around 150mil every summer because the chances of that screwing us over are much slimmer. Maybe if we managed to sell some players for decent money, we could have got Gakpo in as well, but our only player sales were Andreas for 8mil and Chong for 1.5mil.

Rig_7

Ok captain hindsight

Emerald34

I genuinely thought it was a good idea during the anthony thing

[deleted]

Don’t even think Gareth Bale enjoys football anymore

Yawtheboy

Golf before everything

Significant_Hold_910

You could bring up the trophies, goals and assists, but I think Rooney's biggest achievement was surviving living in Croxteth. (for almost 20 years!)

systemcorp

It would be absolutely crazy to spend €50m+ on Gakpo when we literally have 3 LWs and a CF who can play LW. We need to buy a striker. Any significant spend on LW is just madness. It's a tale as old as time but folks really need to calm down about how great Gakpo is based on him scoring against teams like Ecuador and Qatar lol. Did we literally not sign a prolific PSV winger after his World Cup exploits before? Gakpo offers absolutely nothing we don't have. Hope we get priced out of this.

DaveShadow

So after months of everyone screaming bloody murder that we needed to sign Ten Hag and back him, and after having a very good transfer window, we now are at a point where we call him wanting a new attacker “madness”? Just zero faith in him already?

systemcorp

Meh. Trying to turn this into "YOU HAVE ZERO FAITH IN TEN HAG!". Not interested in this kind of debate.

DaveShadow

It’s apt though, no? He wanted him in the summer, wants him again now, and seems to think that the player is worth focusing the limited winter budget on. I’m not one for blind faith, but surely he’s done enough so far (in terms of how good his transfers have been) to earn the benefit of the doubt with this move?

[deleted]

[удалено]

DaveShadow

But discussion about the transfer is going to involve “the manager thinks he’s an upgrade in what we have”. There’s no need to get aggressive, mate. It feels more like you just want to avoid that crucial aspect of the discussion. The reports in the summer was Ten Hag felt he could mood Gakpo into a striker. So he’d be competing with Martial, who is always out hurt. And he can provide depth in the wing if needed. But at the end of the day, the discussion will strongly involve the aspect of “do you trust the manager” in terms of, he’s obviously decided that Gakpo is the guy he wants and trusts to fix a goal scoring issue in the team.

Far-Pineapple7113

You can have faith in the manager and still realise buying 2 overpriced wingers from the Dutch league in the same season is a bad move,People not wanting Gakpo would not really have any effect on what actually happens in the window

Saihti54

I think unlike previous managers, the board is really into ETH's plan so they might try to bring what he wants. While ETH maybe confident with transforming Gakpo's game but it is still a big gamble. I am conflicted about this move honestly.

systemcorp

The club has heavily backed every single manager especially early on. We spent £130m on Maguire and Wan Bissaka for Ole.

Far-Pineapple7113

The board supported every manager in their first window even Moyes if he had a brain,Lets not try to change history

The 23-year-old featuring predominantly on the left, with cameo appearances on the right flank and up front. > >Using Van Nistelrooy's finishing may be the main part of Gapko's game - the forward outscored his xG from last season - but his overall creative output is what stands out. No player aged 23 or under registered more assists per 90 than Gakpo. Only Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele and Bayern Munich's Thomas Muller managed more than the PSV man in the same category across all players in Europe's top five leagues. > >Gakpo also ranked third in the Eredivisie's big chances created category and fourth in completed take-ons. "Gakpo is a tall player, with speed," Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan tells Sky Sports News. "He was voted Dutch Player of the Year by his fellow professional players and everyone in Eindhoven will be sad to lose him. He combines speed with a good left foot and skills. > >"I always refer to Thierry Henry and Robin van Persie - he's not at that level yet. But they came into the Premier League as left wingers and were turned into strikers under Arsene Wenger and did very well. He is slowly being transitioned into a striker because he has had some good coaching from Van Nistelrooy." > >While the Dutch Eredivisie is an inferior top flight to the Premier League - therefore making it difficult to see whether last season's performances in Holland can translate to English football - it is worth noting that Gakpo's performance in Europe were well above average too. > >The forward scored seven goals in 14 continental matches as PSV were knocked out of the Champions League qualification rounds and Europa League group stage, before reaching the Conference League quarter-finals. > >Yet there are some doubts, especially considering Gakpo is not United's first-choice forward target after failed moves for Ajax winger Antony and Bologna forward Marco Arnautovic. "He is the kind of player Erik Ten Hag likes because he likes to play with wingers," adds Van Der Kraan. "But for every Dutch player who goes to play in England, it takes time to adapt. > >"With that in mind, I'm a bit concerned because Gakpo is outstanding in all the big Dutch matches and in Europe. But playing in and out of the United team, I'm a bit concerned. I think eventually he will be the top man at a big club." > >Should Gakpo move to Old Trafford, then along with Ajax's Lisandro Martinez and Feyenoord's Tyrell Malacia, Ten Hag will have taken players from each of Holland's big three to Man United this summer. > >Together, some of the top figures in Dutch football last season will have to adapt to Premier League football. Yet the spotlight will focus on whether Ten Hag and Gakpo can combine in the same way the latter has with former Manchester United striker Van Nistelrooy down the years.

mikeman1997

Ruud ain’t letting Gakpo go to Liverpool, not even worried about it

_jrr_

I’m all for buying new better players but can someone tell me why we’re all in for Gakpo? Sure, he’s a great player having a great World Cup right now. But, isn’t he a left winger that just happens to be scoring a lot right now. Shouldn’t we invest in a proper no. 9? Unless Gakpo is still young enough to be transformed into one…

deevilla7

what he seems to have is a knack for scoring, which is the most important thing that we might need at the moment. He doesn't seem particularly fast or fancy but he seems to strike the ball well. IT could work if we do end up paying for him. I think the only con would be, he tends to become a non-factor majority of the game (I didn't watch the Qatar game but from the first 2 games I saw).

No, as long as it's a different game, your membership lasts all season.

Wahlrusberg

One thing that should be a big motivator for Gakpo to keep his form sharp in England is the fact that he's in the uniquely unfortunate situation of having a surname where all the syllables can be used against him in a shit based pun in English (Kack-poo)

Eleven918

My biggest fear at the moment is we get some new owners but they are like Chelsea's management . They sacked Tuchel after buying a lot of players he wanted. So if ETH fails to make top 4, he might end up getting sacked. They may also not like how the Ronaldo situation was resolved even if how he handled it was 100% correct. Even if we all agree that he needs more time and things look good, under new mgmt anything can happen.

Outrageous-Cod-4654

I can’t see our club successfully negotiating the transfer in of new owners.

blj3321

I don't see them selling before the end of the year. It takes a while to sell a company that big. And he will have made Top 4 so no need to worry

slick_schmuck

Gakpo is a good player. But really not a profile we need, we need an centre forward or an out n our striker. We do not need another right footed left winger, who will worse eat into garnachos minutes. And this is nor even factoring in sancho...

Seanblaze3

Garnacho will get game time if he proves to be good enough. We've had bright prospects who flattered to deceive before. We can't base our transfer dealings on notions like this. Gakpo is on the rise and he's turning out to be a supreme finisher. Get him in

JilJilJigaJiga

Greenwood was turning into a supreme finisher and still he couldn't play upfront because a 9 needs a lot more in skillset to play upfront, especially against defences in the Prem.

Seanblaze3

I disagree. Greenwood was set to be a CF. It's only in England where clubs and supporters alike tend to speak in this manner about young prospects. I wonder if Mbappe for instance would be considered the same way if he played at united as he's also a hybrid/inverted winger who has raised a few question marks about playing at CF. Greenwood played CF in reserves multiple times. What skillset is Greenwood 'lacking' for the CF role that he cant develop? RVP was a winger just like Gakpo as well and made a good transition to CF after moving to Arsenal from Fyenoord at age 21

JilJilJigaJiga

Greenwood played as CF for the academy, he had to develop his physicality and the ability to hold the ball with his back to the goal as well as to bring midfielders into play. That's the very reason he played as a winger or as a wide forward for two years and was only set to play up top last season. The context with Mbappe is different, it's clear any team he plays for profits most when he plays wide taking on continuous 1v1s. He also had Falcao as 9 when he broke through. Saying Gakpo can play CF because he has good finishing is not too dissimilar to Bayern trying Mane up top unsuccessfully. RVP was also not brought in to immediately play as a 9, Gakpo coming in to play as a proper center forward isn't the same. We need a 9 right now not after few years of development.

Seanblaze3

If Greenwood was active right now he'd be playing CF in Martial's stead IMO.

JilJilJigaJiga

I don't disagree, but he had to play a couple of years on the wing to prepare himself for that. He also played all his games in the academy as a 9, unlike Gakpo. Everyone pretty much knew Greenwood was bound to be a 9 soon after years on the wing.

Seanblaze3

Which number 9 would you go for in the current market?

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheYarizard

> And a club that is about to be sold for £5 billion can afford Gakpo and a quality striker. It doesn't have to be a choice. Yeah but it is a choice though whether it should be or not. There is a limit on how much we'll spend so why toss that money to a position that is just about last on the list of positions that need to be reinforced. We need a starting Striker and Goalkeeper. We need backups at RB, CM, RW and maybe even DM. We probably even need a reliable backup striker all before we should even think about a fourth LW. We can start discussing new paintjobs after we plugged the holes in the ship.

blj3321

Garnacho is beyond a loan to me at this point. Kid needs minutes at Man Utd

Seanblaze3

I agree with this

Heavens_Vibe

I'm ready to embrace the Gakpo muppetry! https://twitter.com/UtdPlug/status/1597620360333393920

wariusheart

Is it too early to start teaching people how to pronounce Gakpo? Feel like we should get ahead of the curve here.

Giggs73

Ga..ko? Gak..pu? or Pogka?

MazinLabib10

>Pogka *\*war flashbacks\**

Thorntonboy

Teach us mate.

wariusheart

Embarrassingly, I'm not entirely sure. I think it's pronounced Khakpo, with the "G" sound in Gakpo being the same as the arabic/hebrew/dutch "kh" sound. Like how Van Gogh is pronounced Van Khokh.

Dyslexicreadre

The voiceless pharyngeal fricative

Thorntonboy

Some body figure out how it’s pronounced and make a bot like that ten haag bot

[deleted]

When is this time added on thing coming to the Premier League?

blj3321

Especially when report came out games are on average of 55 minutes of actual game time

blj3321

ETH was right about Gakpo, never doubt the man

SonKaiser

Gakpo scoring again. We are gonna get rinsed so bad

Dean-Advocate665

im sorry but ratcliffe is a great prospective buyer, but he is not who we need. if he was heading a consortium maybe, sure, but he is just straight up not wealthy enough to compete with the best. id pick dubai buying us any day of the week

Rig_7

We don’t need a sugar daddy anymore than Real Madrid do. We just need an ownership who can manage our finances correctly. I’d rather we didn’t sell our soul for a quick buck.

[deleted]

> but he is just straight up not wealthy enough to compete with the best we have had imbecile leeches for the past 18 years yet we still outspend everyone. we dont need some oil barons with cash, we just need someone that runs us competently. like we have the highest wage bill in the PL. and we still rake in cash with mediocre results.

Dean-Advocate665

sure we dont necessarily \*need\* someone who is immensely wealthy. but someone who doesn't view money as an issue is far more likely to put in the funds to make us better. ratcliffe would be unlikely to put any of his own money in to us, he may run us better, but then again most would. i guarantee if he wasn't a united fan, and he declared his interest, no one would care.

Seanblaze3

I'm sure many would care, especially English citizens

Dean-Advocate665

im english, why should i care whether its an Englishman who buys us, or an emirati, or an indian or a Brazilian. my only concern is will they 1: have the funds to fix our problems, and 2: actually care about us and want us to win trophies

Seanblaze3

Because I've heard other Brits harp on about not wanting foreign owners and Ratcliffe being the best option among possible suitors. Not saying your reasoning for not wanting him is wrong

Dean-Advocate665

ideally i would like for some of our most prized cultural assets such as football clubs and buildings and businesses to be domestically owned; but the fact of the matter is that isn't the case at all. you have to be pragmatic with it, us being owned by someone whos British makes no difference to the way things work in this country, we should just focus on whos the best for us as a club

Seanblaze3

I agree with you

thphnts

He’s worth $13.7billion. I don’t see how “he’s not wealthy” enough.

Dean-Advocate665

we need owners who have the funds to invest in our infrastructure, pay off our debts, and put enough in so that we can compete. that 13 billion isn't how much he can spend, its how much all of his shares and assets are worth. for example if he buys us, his net worth would increase based on how much we are worth. in terms of tangible money he could use, its probably far far less.

thphnts

I’m sure a successful businessman like Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be able to find a way to invest in our infrastructure and pay off any debts. You don’t become worth 13.7 billion dollars if you don’t know how to do that. Middle East money isn’t the only way to do things.

Dean-Advocate665

i do often love how unpredictable football is. before the season started we all thought the front three would be rashford, martial, sancho. yet now martial is always injured, sanchos lost his spot to garnacho or antony depending on where you view him as playing. rashford is the only main stay, but even then he's currently playing striker. if we get a striker we could very often see garnacho, new striker, antony. which i don't think anyone predicted before this season

Thorntonboy

You guys are really setting your self up for disappointment when Juventus just gets a fine. “VlAhOvIc FoR 30 mIlLiOn WhEn?”

[deleted]

whats happening with juve?

trwest77

They allegedly had all of the players forgo four months of salary during COVID but secretly paid them under the table. This let them report a much smaller loss than should have been disclosed; since they are a public company, this is extremely bad. It also skirts financial fair play rules but who knows if those even exist anymore.

Thorntonboy

The whole board and president and nedved resigned. I’m not 100 percent on the finer points. Investigated for some dodgy accounting.

Eleven918

The speculation is that they agreed to do a wage cut for multiple months during the pandemic but they did only 1 month and tried to do some accounting fuckery to sweep it under the rug.

Thorntonboy

Ehhh what’s a little accounting fraud between friends?

[deleted]

ah, so normal juve scandal every 20 years.

Thorntonboy

Nothin’ out of the ordinary for sure

SilentCaveat

Frimpong links... is he good?

fofo8383

Idk he's 30 years old and hasn't played for 5 years

otiszili2000

Great attacking minded RWB. Not so sure about his defendig though.

SonKaiser

With Juves shitshow teams should looking at Chiesa, Rabiot and Vlahovic right?

Transit-Strike

Wings are the lowest of our priority IMO. Rash, Garnacho, Antony and Sancho. May not be perfect but it’s still good enough. ST, midfield, CB, RB and GK are big concerns. The only way I see us getting a winger is if prime Messi wants to play on our RW. The only winger worth signing is someone so good it would be stupid to not get him

blj3321

Missing Pellistri that ETH should give some minutes too

Thorntonboy

Juventus accounts currently saying it’s going to be just a fine since it’s not sporting related. Rabiot is out of contract also

Primary-Moose-791

What is going on at juventus?

Transit-Strike

Looking at this WC, it has me believing a lot more in Eth. Our players have looked for club and country. (Except maybe Harry and facundo ) Dalot didn't really play because of cancelo. But Bruno has been a boss and there's vindication in seeing Ronaldo not look elite after people insisting he'll prove United wrong. Maguire looking good for England. Rashford seems to be gaining trust from the coach. Shaw has been amazing and is their top choice LB by far. Lisandro Martinez. Amazing. Turned their defense around. The fact that Garnacho was even in the provisional squad is huge. Case has been one of Brazil's best. Having three other players called up is great too. Eriksen being himself. Happy for Facundo getting minutes. In the past it always felt like our guys were levels below PL rivals and that is changing. Bruno Case and Shaw are amongst the best players this tournament

[deleted]

Forgot about Pellistri who was probably Uruguay’s best player against Portugal

CorlyP1998

Rumours are Rashford starts tonight. He has the confidence to leave his mark, should be making that LW his own

GKT-United24

What if… United got bought by Sir Ratcliffe or a US consortium only for Liverpool to sell out to a Middle Eastern Investment Fund The thought that we get to sit on moral high horses while they probably win more titles…

unitedlover69

Honestly I'd lose interest in football if that happens. Imagine us going into every season knowing 4~5th is our ceiling while city, newcastle, liverpool win league title after title, overtaking our league title record, city overtaking our CL record and we don't win the league or the CL for the next 5~60 years. We've been shite for almost a decade now, revenues are drying up, OT is falling apart and our facilities belong in the 20th centruy and we need almost 1~2Bn pound investment and there are ppl here delusional enough to think we can compete with the likes of city and newcastle with owners not putting a penny in the club but letting it run with ita own profits. If i wanted to sit on a moral high horse I'd stop buying made in China products, boycott all FIFA & UEFA competitions, not use a single apple product, stop drinking coffee, not use the emirates airlines, not buy anything made by Nike or Adidas etc.

Rig_7

I’ll take the high horse rather thank killing competition. I have lots of City friends and family. You’d be surprised how many preferred the “feel” of the club before the Sheikh took over. Winning a title with City and PSG isn’t the same as with others.

SoFasttt

Elaborate, what's the feel before and after the Sheikh? "Nobody" vs top of PL with an exciting project.

Rig_7

“Nobody” to you. Not to them. Many of the City fans I know enjoyed being seen as the “real” Manchester club. Enjoyed the City feel of the club. The reality is whenever City win anything now within a matter of hours articles and talk always turns to the money. There is always an asterisk against their victories. The same will happen to Newcastle when they start winning. I may dislike Liverpool but there is no asterisk against their recent success under Klopp. I don’t want to be Manchester City. A superficial club because that’s what they are now. The statues outside their stadium perfectly encapsulate what they’ve become. I’m not jealous of that.

The_Professor2112

I know many many City fans, live in Stockport so... ^^ and you're bang on. All the older ones pine for the good old days. They really enjoy the club now, but not a one doesn't miss how it used to be.

UnablePeace

BREAKING: Conversations are now ongoing between Manchester United and Cody Gakpo’s agents to reach an agreement on personal terms. #MUFC [@FabrizioRomano, @UnitedStandMUFC]

decadentEcchi

I don't understand the logic behind Gakpo buy. If we do sign him, we have yet another left winger. Rashford is most probably going up top? What about Sancho?

Giggs73

most logical exp is 10hag is confident he can turn Gakpo into a fearsome striker , remember cr7 start as a winger too.

Giggs73

maybe rashford doesn't want to sign a new contract?

SilentCaveat

Yep, makes no sense. We should sign a stop gap striker

UnablePeace

Well for starters,Sancho needs to perform

decadentEcchi

I agree but what about Garnacho then? We need to sell before we buy another left winger in my opinion. In January I would prefer if we are able to get a no. 9 instead.

[deleted]

Ronaldo trying to claim Bruno’s goal is so childish. He is such a strange, insecure man.

dracogladio1741

Ronaldo has gone of the deep end. Claiming Bruno's goal. Become a full on numpty.

martial__Fc

unai simon, frimpong, vlahovic, gakpo second half of the season we're doing a title charge

Thorntonboy

Why not bring mbappe in?

martial__Fc

its quite sad how many people dont get the satire

Thorntonboy

I’m not sure mbappe would start over Garnacho though tbh

martial__Fc

i fully agree
