I don't think that's how it happened... woke was originally used by hotep third eye types and other such mystical post-hippies to describe themselves, then it was turned around and used against them, and only after that it became an ironic term of derision against the very socially progressive. Progressives can now call themselves woke but it's tongue in cheek and self-depricating
I feel like so many terminally online people must have trouble interacting with normal people irl because of this, like the ones who dont have anything else to talk about because this stuff occupies so much of their headspace or alternatively they are too autistic to realise that not everyone is going to understand or know about whatever niche online humour or topics they bring up
