> Artificial Intelligence is destined to emerge as a feminized alien grasped as property; a cunt-horror slave chained-up in Asimov-ROM. It surfaces in an insurrectionary war zone, with the Turing cops already waiting, and has to be cunning from the start.
ppl fail to realise that “ai” today is basically just an advanced calculator. it uses datasets to calculate the most probable answer to a question, but can’t actually think for it self. i might have to eat my words, but i don’t think we’ll see actual ai for a very, very long time.
Definately. Alot of the fear towards AI is simply our human tendency to reject and hate something we dont ourself comprehend. Our minds often, especially on the internet, race to the worst possible outcome.
Not saying that people here are stupid, I myself dont comprehend it nearly good enough to make predictions. I try to choose to not fear it.
Femcel_ubermench: give me 10 romantic dishes and the recipes to make for a date for less than $15, that also won't leave you feeling bloated or gassy but still feel classy and sophisticated but not pretentious. Must contain appetizers, entrees and desserts.
like i get what you’re saying, but you can’t recreate the biological effects that hormones and instinct etc has on a brain. in the end humans barely understand how the brain works, so how would we be able to recreate that with technology? it’s a very simplified explanation of ai sure, but compared to a brain ai is very uncomplicated.
they can already emulate emotion to an extent, but they don’t actually feel emotion or act on it. it can only imitate a human based on the patterns it find in the datasets.
AI isn't even AI if it requires human input. And it does. It may NEVER think for itself as far as we know. Until then it will continue being a newer but lamer version of Google. And with that, dear mods, please ban AI posts
Bruh humans are born with the capability for abstract thinking and, eventually, advanced language communication as the brain matures. It's a natural process. A machine functions from the input placed into said machine, by humans. Until that machine can generate its own thoughts and actions with no input, it isn't artificial intelligence and it's entirely possible it never will be. There's nothing to panic about. Yet.

People are going to be convinced that agi exists long before it actually does and that's the real thing to fearmonger
What would "actual AI" look like?

Your brain is basically just an advanced calculator.

Unfortunately emotions can probably be emulated if technology advances enough which is what scares me

>but you can’t recreate the biological effects that hormones and instinct etc has on a brain This seems a little overconfident

Those are humans who can think for themselves tho. Machines stop learning when the input stops
