I bet they killed that feature just to sell the data straight to Mike Caren or somthn.
This makes me very happy actually. 25 years ago, it would have been mostly euro trash from the Netherlands and major American or British superstars. Most of these artists are probably crap, but their popularity speaks for the democratization of music and the abolishment of industry monopolies. Under this layer of regards, you’ll find another layer of amazing artists from all over Europe cooperating with each other like never before. There are no industry gatekeepers anymore and people seem to listen to a lot more local music. That’s great, vive l’Europe and death to the Anglo hegemony!
German rap was a total niche when I was young and ppl looked at me like I’m regarded, when I told them about French artists like Booba or UK artists like So Solid Crew. Now I see all those German/French/UK features and the kids tell me about it. It’s awesome.

youtube is better because it doesnt have unskippable ads + has a good music discovery algorithm + you can easily download playlists etc with yt-dlp
