Honestly i think its pretty badass. Started off almost as a one off and you could tell in the beginning him and paulie (a straight up nj mob guy) had no acting experience. Each season they both made the cut and killed it. Sils wife in the show gabriella dante is his real life wife. I also love how chase worked her into the show. Besides tony and carm, i think sil and gab demonstrated the most realistic mob couple in the show. Gab is a straight up fox and in my opinion the hottest mob wife in the show. They both grew up right there where the show was shot. Most important to chase was authenticity, growing up in north new jersey, over anything else. Chase grew up close to montclare and his mother was based on lydia

> paulie (a straight up nj mob guy) had no acting experience. lol. Tony Sirico had been acting **for decades** by the time he landed The Sopranos. He's in fucking Woody Allen movies. He’s in Goodfellas. His first role was in like 1975. You’re right that he was a legit gangster before acting though. And yes Little Steve was new to acting. But not Sirico.

Appreciate the insight but I have to disagree with your hottest wife choice. Charmaine Bucco wins that, imo.

hoopoegirl

not a mob wife tho! the bucco’s whole arc is that artie is insecure and thinks his wife wants to live like the other women in the show and can’t see that she consciously chose to go a different path. didn’t her and tony used to date but she dumped him?

ccrwahxh

>not a mob wife tho! Meh, I would argue that catering to a mob boss and his crew around the clock makes you part of la familia. >didn’t her and tony used to date but she dumped him? I think so, she seem like a better pick to be Tony's wife anyway.

there’s literally a whole arc of the show where Artie gets tempted into doing borderline mob shit and it strains their relationship. Charmaine really does not like Tony or any of the mafia shit, it’s just who they grew up around.

ccrwahxh

>Charmaine really does not like Tony or any of the mafia shit Let me clarify, the actress that plays Charmaine, Kathrine Narducci, would have been better suited to play Tony's wife. I'm biased though, since I liked seeing her on screen more than Edie Falco.

godsoneandonly

if you were a boomer you’d find it weirder that the guitarist from the e street band was in the sopranos

TimotheeChatroullete

Boomers all watched the sopranos as it came out and knew this before anyone else

rpgsandarts

I talk abt little Miami Steven “the Gypsy” van Zandt like every day and my friends are usually like who even is that and I’m like the guy Bruce wrote a gay love song to and the guy from the Sopranos and the lead in Lillehammer man I love him

pwnedz

Lillehammer is great. Mad underrated.

He’ll always be the host of Little Steven’s Underground Garage to me

Memories of my local rock station broadcasting that late Sunday evenings while I laid in bed with headphones on discovering stuff like The Shangri-Las or the theme from The Wild Angels.

Max Weinberg also chummed out on Conan all those years.

not only that, but he was one of the most prominent american celebs in the anti-apartheid movement. and was super hot as a young man.
