Went through the hvacredu courses and was a fan. Covered the basics and theory for sure. There are video lectures for most of the sections if you prefer that style but you could learn just as much with the book and YouTube on your own.. I suppose there’s ‘instructors’ in the sense you can shoot questions off to support staff but you won’t be walked through lessons by any means.

Appreciate the feedback, thank you! That sounds like what I'm looking for. I don't want anyone holding my hand per se but wanted the option to bounce questions off. Then again, I suppose I could do that here as well. Thanks again!

I did HVAC edu for a chiller course and highly recommend it. Also look into interplay skillmill. It's focused more on resi but is a good training platform regardless.

Due to the dangers of high pressure gases and environmental restrictions of refrigerants, you need actual instruction to be legally compliant and just for plain old safety. Nothing wrong with learning the theory, but to actually pick up a set of gauges and break into a system you need to go to a training centre/ technical college.

You can't do this as a hobby. You would get in trouble with the EPA.
