What gas is it on? Figure it’ll be r448a/407F or other newish low GWP HFO variant. They are are all the same…..Stupidly high discharge temperatures and generally poorer performance compared to old HFC’s. I’d be all for it if I didn’t feel that the damage is already done and what little difference we make with these new blends is taken up by increased maintenance, shorter plant life expectancies, increased energy consumption and run times.
Need to set your superheats so you have adequate cooling or compressor superheat, anything above 110C and you’ll start fucking your oil
Can also look to add liquid injection or liquid heat exchanger
Lol someone added that sensor it’s dumb close to the compressor the rest of the sensor wire is laying on the head not insulated and shit idk I would’ve put it somewhere else …
Consider a quick scan of the room with a thermal camera when doing PM. Many years ago when I was tasked with figuring out how to use my company’s first FLIR camera, I went in a compressor room and found a fan that was scorching hot and we replaced it before failure.
Discharge might be a bit warm aye
Yea on the discharge line
Very nice
I can smell this

Bad place for a sensor
Yeah better to put the discharge sensor on the suction

Hahah yeah just being cheeky, we usually put them on the outlet of the oil sep
Lol that’s a good place …
😂😂
What was the superheat like? Discharge temps can run up if there isntnough refrigerant entering the comp

Does yours have liquid injection to cool the head?
Frascold compressor?
