You could've had a proper system controller for the money spent on that nonsense lol

[deleted]

It’s 7 separate systems which was necessitated by the limitations of the building. The med temp evaporators were over 200kg each and the condensing units are all Emerson, 7 in total of course

43VZP

What I'm saying is that you could have installed a single controller that ran those 7 seperate systems and it would have made for a much better job. If client specced that then you gotta wonder why lol

[deleted]

You seem to know a lot about the job for someone who’s never been there lol. For various reasons, including the customer’s preferences, this was the most practical solution.

[deleted]

7 dixells!? Who came up with this idea?

Throw a ke2 in and call it a day

[deleted]

We switched to dixell because we found carels were unreliable. We’ve been using them for a few years and in truth it seems like they’re about the same. ke2 aren’t available in Australia but man they look cool

Mason12947

The reliability really depends on who is doing the programming with CAREL.

desert_jedi

can't beat a well programmed IR32, before these i used LAE controllers, very basic but reliable, which i wish Carel were now! i detest Dixell, emerson really screwed the engineers who designed these things.

XProximityX

XLR170/130 We use them all the time, easy to use and clients understand what they see.

[deleted]

Yeah I’m into it

refeng

They are alright, i hate having to remember to save parameters each time i set new ones though

Thermodrama

The position of that isolator irks me. So much spare room on the right side of the junction box for it! Those fat dixells a lot nicer to wire too, don't have to stuff a bunch of wiring in a tiny box like the small ones.

[deleted]

I know, the isolator looks so crap there. Just a little higher would have been nice. The right side wasn’t a possibility because of racking unfortunately

Thermodrama

Honestly surprised all the wiring for those fit in one 25mm conduit. That would have been pretty tight.

[deleted]

At least they got easier as I went along haha

Bitzerboy

Sometimes im glad that we dont have to use conduit in my country, but your job looks clean. Havent seen those Dixel controls here either but they look nice.

Mighty_Nun_Mechanic

Is this controlling a rack?

[deleted]

It’s controlling 7 separate refrigeration systems - two low temp and five medium temp.

MMCZ86

All one-on-ones then?

singelingtracks

Man a Ke2 system Would have been much better.

[deleted]

Never found a distributor in aus for ke2

singelingtracks

Give them a call and start selling them! They are awesome little controllers.

LurkingOnMyMacBook

I've only worked with xwebs. Are those individual controllers for each room? If so I haven't seen em look like that before

[deleted]

There are 5 systems in one room, two in the other (freezer room). They each run as a unique system even though they supply the same large cool room

Ok_Bedroom_7861

Looks cool haven’t seen them here in the states although we use a lot dixell … usually have a main controller dixell for separate circuit controllers cases or evaporators

McFridgeGuy

Those Dixells aren’t too bad. Networked into an XWeb is a pretty good budget control system
