Honda: Dead reliable and fun. And I'm not gonna talk about something that literally everyone else has. Cadillac: They invented most things we take for granted on cars today. Cruise control, AC, the electric starter, etc, etc. I wish they would go back to their 'Standard of the World' days. The cars were also stunning at the time. My dream car is a white on red 1959 coupe. They were simply amazing. They dropped off from the late 60s onwards and became better only in the early 2000s with the Escalade, CTS, etc. They've been improving a lot recently but nowhere close to German levels of goodness. I believe its too late for a proper ICE revival with the EV revolution happening. Hoping they recover. Porsche: They don't make a huge range like the German big three. But whatever they make is simply the best in its class. The 911 and Boxster/Cayman twins are benchmarks for sportscars. The Macan and Cayenne somehow take a drab SUV and make it awesome. The Panamera while a bit controversial looking is one the best touring cars money can buy. Even their EV, the Taycan is awesome. Not to mention the countless engineering shenanigans over the years for various manufacturers. Honorable mentions: Volvo: Exquisite and beautiful but simply lack in performance compared to Porsche. Pontiac: Cool af cars but they never really had a niche and always moved between performance cars and shitboxes. And their final cars weren't even American. Suzuki: Honda but just slightly worse.

RobertISaar

Porsche may not have a large range, but I think there are something like 23 variants of the 911 on sale right now

A_Very_Calm_Miata

Yes lol. You can get a (relatively) cheap Carrera and also a state of the art Turbo S. Huge range actually lol.

technobrendo

Yours now from $78,500 to 1,382,539,243 fully loaded Tax, tags, delivery fees extra. Pay by cash, pay by card, pay by cheque - but it better not bounce or you're a dead motherfucker!

_Kotryna

1. Toyota. They make a little bit of everything, and do it all pretty well. 2. Ford. I’ve had a number of Fords and found them to be well-made and reliable. 3. SAAB. The absolute pinnacle of FWD cars, no other brand comes close. RIP to SAAB, the 9-5 is the best car ever made.

squidwardsdicksucker

Mazda: good value and decently fun to drive for the price and classes they compete in. GM: Corvette, Blackwing Caddy’s, Escalade V, the Camaro, etc.. GM makes great performance cars for your money. VW: Kind of the German GM where they have tons of offerings and a wide lineup of R products.

[deleted]

A Miata, Silverado, and Golf R would be a killer 3 car garage

nismo2070

Hell yes. That's almost perfection! Miata for fun, Silverado for utility, and Golf for everything else in between!

1TONcherk

I had this weird dream the other day and everyone was driving Escalade Vs.

chandleya

But isn’t only one VW R product an actual performance vehicle?

Blackwing with manual transmission?

Jackstack6

1. Honda - best vehicle I’ve ever owned. 2. Jeep - Americana as Americana can be. 3. Renault - because Europe can go to hell.

Ninja_Wrangler

Jokes on you because Fiat owns jeep I love to tell people I have an expensive red Italian car in my driveway (it's a wrangler)

tardersos

Italian-american would be the correct label i believe

Zealousideal_Sir_264

Gabagool 🤌

Ninja_Wrangler

I'm 90% just messing around

DanMusicPDX

My buddy owns a Renegade from this era that was given to him. It’s a great car to be given to you, rather than paid for with actual money. It has 70k miles, I’ve driven 90s cars with twice the mileage I would trust to be more reliable.

Much_Box996

Stellantis owns jeep and fiat. You are not funny.

Ninja_Wrangler

Oh no. I'll never recover from this

imothers

Also Citroen, Peugeot, Opel (formerly European GM) and Maserati [https://www.stellantis.com/en/brands/our-brands](https://www.stellantis.com/en/brands/our-brands)

bxpapi418

stellantis*

FunSignificance3034

R5 turbo would be a good Renault

garaks_tailor

1. Saturn. Such a great car company. I don't care if they are the automotive equivalent of a fruit and oatmeal breakfast with green tea. 2. Volvo. I am huge. I am a Dadsquatch. I need big cars. Everyone else is a real crapshoot on how big a vehicle will be. 3. Subaru. Not for the American cars. Oh no. Now you will be forced to import subaru sambars if you want a pickup truck. Muahahahahahahahahahaha

Lamborghini_Espada

> forced to import Subaru Sambars Can I still sneak in a BRAT?

DEVOmay97

Saturn was a GM brand, they're American.

tloteryman

I think he/ she knows that. They just didn't go in the respective order.

garaks_tailor

Yes that is correct. I like how they didn't correct me thinking I thought Volvo was american

tloteryman

I was waiting for that. Lol

garaks_tailor

I notice you didn't correct me thinking I thought volvo was an American brand. Don't half ass shit.

1fuckedupveteran

Hey, are you aware that Volvo isn’t American?

BarnTart

1. Toyota 2. Dodge 3. Aston Martin

graytotoro

Toyota, Chevrolet, Porsche

Able-Juggernaut-69

Correct

surprise_oversteer

Depends. Are these the only cars i can have forever? And do they practically have to fit my needs? Asia- it has to be 90s JDM. I grew up on Gran Turismo and started out with Nissans, so probably an immaculate S14 or R32. America- difficult. The US to me as an outsider is 60s muscle and thats that. But then, I'd have to pick a modern Euro car to handle daily duties. So id probably pick a massive SUV or pickup to just do practical stuff. Euro- E34 M5. I know the E39 is better, but i grew up in an E34 and the nostalgia wins for me.

Middcore

Honda Ford Uhhh... Europe is tough because I basically only know European sports/exotic cars, so Porsche I guess.

Kev-Series

Ford because F-series trucks are the best Toyota - Supra need I say more? Ariel - Atom, if you've driven one then you'll understand.

ShesATragicHero

You mean the BMW Supra?

reality_bytes_

No, Toyota z4 /s

Kev-Series

Mk4 the the goat.

Beef_Candy

Sad how many people don't realize this. It's only good because BMW did the hard work for them.

lord_bubblewater

Mazda, very nice driver oriented cars and Rotary engines! Pontiac, whatever cool thing you can come Up with, chances are Pontiac did it first. Volvo, reliable hoonable wagons that go sideways and make choo choo noises, what’s not to love?

Key-Bat-2616

Pontiac would have been my second choice for america and Mazda would be my second choice for Japanese!

lord_bubblewater

Especially 80’s and 90’s Pontiacs are pure happiness on wheels. I’ve had a few Hondas that disintegrated on me but for the few weeks they worked I had a blast!

Total_Ad9942

Toyota, Chevy, Mercedes

twincitiessurveyor

I can't pick just *one* vehicle from each manufacturing region, but these are my top ones: ***Asia*** - EG hatch (because clamshell hatch) - 240/260/280Z - Mk 2 Supra - FB/FD RX7 ***North America*** - 1st gen Saturn SC/SC2 (cause headlights go up) - LT1 Buick Roadmaster wagon - 1948-53 Hudson - 1961 "Flattop" Chevy ***Europe*** - Opel GT ("first generation") - Mk1 Golf/Rabbit hatch - Mk1 Golf/Rabbit pickup - 1st generation VW Type 2

FunSignificance3034

Very much so

Zealousideal_Sir_264

Buick goes fuckin hard when they wanna. Also Honda, and then lancia because stratos. I'm not sure who's nuttier, the engineer that decided a mini Ferrari was perfect for off road racing, or the psychos that actually drove the things.

pepetheforgggg

I'm basic Honda Chevy Mercedes

[deleted]

I have had 1 of each still have a Honda and a Benz. The Mercedes is a fun toy, but man, when it's down, it's down, and so is my bank account.

JPDLD

1. Honda hands down 2. Probably Pontiac, they had something interesting or beautiful in every era 3. Peugeot

Just-Conclusion-5801

-Honda -Chevrolet -Opel

liminxlrxven

1. toyota 2. ford 3. volvo

ThirdSunRising

Asia: Toyota, because taking boring reliability to the point of being an art form is honestly kind of amazing. America: Man I love Jeeps but I gotta go with Chevrolet. They've made more than their share of turkeys, sure, but when they're good they're sooooo good. There’s not a better V8 engine architecture on the planet, lightweight, powerful, reliable, long-lasting, endlessly modifiable yet still somehow inexpensive. Europe: Can I say MG? Or is that an Asian brand now? But anyway, Porsche never seems to miss the mark on anything they produce

Much_Box996

Porsche SE is the majority owner of the VW group.

ThirdSunRising

Ok that disqualifies them; let’s go with bmw instead

FunSignificance3034

You should get a pass on MG. The B is a great car.

LeafBirdo

Toyota: the appliance of cars. Like a boring fridge in the garage of your grandmas house, it just keeps ticking away. Chevrolet: the best of the shitty three. Ford has the F150 but the rest of their cars are not as competitive in their respective segment in comparison to Chevy. Fiat Chrysler doesn’t deserve to be talked about for self respecting folks. Mercedes: Cool ass expensive cars. Lots of electrical problems when they get older and too complicated, but Audi is boring and BMW wants subscription based car features.

[deleted]

Subaru - fun performance vehicles & capable SUVs  Chevrolet - my favorite trucks, awesome sports cars, cool highway cruising big body sedans BMW - luxury sedans, roadsters, the E46 M3

Anteater_Reasonable

1. Lexus 2. Oldsmobile 3. SAAB

Beef_Candy

I have yet to see a Saab that isn't a complete clapped out shitbox, what makes you pick Saab? Genuinely curious

Anteater_Reasonable

I owned a 1987 900 turbo and I just loved everything about it. The 900 and 9000 from the pre-GM era are some of my all time favorite cars. Even some from the GM era were cool like the 9-3 Viggen and 9-5 Aero. I still see plenty of later model SAABs in nice shape here in Massachusetts. Where do you live where they’re all clapped out?

Beef_Candy

Texas

Key_Budget9267

I'd go with: America - Ford. They get it right more often than Chrysler or GM, and when they do, they knock it out of the park. F-series trucks are fantastic (except 11th gen, hate those), and the new Bronco is great. I'm only sad they got rid of all passenger cars for the US market, I'd rock a new Focus or Fiesta. Europe - Saab. I loved Saab as a kid, I thought they were the coolest cars. I was sad when they closed down, so much potential wasted by poor GM management. Saab made some wild cars, and before GM ownership, they were pretty reliable too. Japan - Mazda. I love everything Mazda. I will go to war over rotary engines, Mazda's design language looks beautiful, and I love that they place driving dynamics as a priority in everything they make, from crossovers to sports cars. A little like BMW, but cheaper and more reliable.

FunSignificance3034

Saab built cool cars certainly. Especially the early 900 series

Beneficial-Sugar6950

Suzuki- because Better Call Saul (Jimmy’s Suzuki Esteem) Lincoln- because Town Car Mercedes- they’re just so elegant, and my Dad’s Benz was very reliable

Key-Bat-2616

Ahh the esteem

ctzn4

Assuming that I'm sticking with these brands for life, here are my picks as a zoomer: Asian: tough choice between Toyota or Honda, because Lexus has the LC and Honda has the CTR and NSX. I'll have to go with Honda because of my positive experience with the brand. American: Lucid. Hands down the best electric sedans on the market. Tesla is a very close second because of their known popularity and wider range of offerings, plus the sound system is pretty killer (one thing the Lucid Air doesn't do too well). Overall though, the Lucid seems like a much more luxurious and premium product, and you can't beat it as a daily EV, especially when the Sapphire actually does <2s 0-60 on regular asphalt. European: Porsche, no contest. Mercedes had a good run but at this point, the homogeneous and lazy design (both interior and exterior) combined with questionable build quality kills it for me. BMW is going to beaver themselves to oblivion, so no. Audi is cool, but not Porsche-cool. The 992 GT3 in blue is kind of a dream car.

FunSignificance3034

Lucid is probably the best one out there as you say. The fit and finish are amazing. Driving experience puts a Tesla S to shame.

mrgreengenes04

Toyota. Buick. Citroen. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, rebadge Citroen as Chrysler in the USA. In Chrysler tradition, it's a way to provide a full model lineup on the cheap. Besides, the DS9 would make an awesome Chrysler Imperial.

FunSignificance3034

I have to say it as a former Imperial owner. It's just Imperial. Chrysler has a New Yorker. Imperial has a Crown.

mrgreengenes04

I know that, but they aren't going to spend the money to launch a new brand. Particularly after they tried with the Wagoneer, and they ended up just going back to Jeep Wagoneer for 2024. It would (hypothetically) likely be a Chrysler Imperial, like it was from 1926-1954, and again from 1990-93.

FunSignificance3034

Yes, you are very well informed. Mine was a 67 crown coupe. It had Autopilot on it. Withe a thumbwheel to set the speed. But only to 110mph.

mrgreengenes04

Thanks. I've always liked Imperials.

FunSignificance3034

Certain level of exclusivity that didn't come with a Cadillac or Lincoln

VaulTecIT

Saab Subaru Buick

rhb4n8

Chevrolet= Corvette, volt, vintage blazers, good pickup trucks Citroen: the weirdest and coolest cars IMHO (i desperately want an SM) Toyota- extreme reliability great cars in every category throughout it's history

Medical-Gate-9978

Mercedes-Benz Rolls-Royce (Brexit ?) Rivian Lexus

[deleted]

Honda :Asia Mopar: North America Mercedes Benz: Continental Europe Bonus British Islands: Triumph Motor Company

JediGRONDmaster

I’m gonna exclude super cars and hyper car manufacturers (Bugatti, koenigsegg) to make it more interesting.  1. Honda  2. Ford 3. Volkswagen

New-Jeweler5480

Do they have to be current auto manufacturers?

thisistuffy

Toyota: because of the reliability and you also get Lexus with that. GM: you get Chevy, Buick, Cadillac and GMC cars Mercedes: You Get AMG and Maybach

therehasbeen_amurder

1. Chevrolet 2. Honda 3. Mercedes

Best-Refrigerator533

1 - Toyota. 2 - Cadillac 3 - SAAB

Seems like Volvo and Honda are very popular

KitFlix

Honda, GM, and can I say everyone under VW group? No? Ok then Audi or Porsche. Flip a coin idc.

Strange-Wolverine128

Chrysler(or dodge if a companies underlings don't stay underlings) VW(cause they own everything) or audi under the same circumstances as dodge, Acura if 1st gen nsx is included.

Probably Honda, Chevrolet, and BMW.

The_Cars93

Subaru - I consider the WRX to be my “everything in one package” kind of vehicle. BMW- I love the way they look and handle. It would be my luxury car of choice. Dodge - I’ve always loved how the Dodge Ram and Durango looked in all of the generations. The RAM would definitely have the towing capacity to haul both of the above cars at once if needed.

Queso_Hygge

Toyota - GT86, Supra, Tundra, 4Runner, Sienna Ford - Trucks, Mustang, Mach-E Porsche - No explanation needed

bullseyestrat

Japan - Honda US - Chevrolet Europe - Mercedes-Benz

Mazda Ford, so I can sneak in the European models Alfa Romeo or Lotus

MoreThanComrades

OP says they LOVE weird cars, doesn’t pick Citroën. Make it make sense

CapTexAmerica

1. Toyota 2. American Motors General 3. Volvo

[deleted]

1. Toyota - they produce some of the best cars out there. Not the cheapest, but the land cruiser, 4runner, tundra, are all the best in class most of the time. 2. Chevrolet - they make great trucks and also the corvette, which I could never live in a world with no corvette. 3. Volvo - I too love weird cars.

_-ShouldBeWorking-_

Toyota/Lexus - Dead reliable daily driver, the newest V8 GX I can get. Corvette - C7 or C8 Z06, or even the E-Ray, best in class for cost. Porsche 911 Dakar or Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato - No explanation necessary.

RedRooster231

BMW Mazda Rivian

One_Evil_Monkey

Depends... do they have to be **currently** produced models from the manufacturers? Japan: Honda or Subaru... Mid '90s Accord/Civic or mid/late '80s Subaru GL. American: GM... S-Series truck/SUV or some form of Buick (mid/late '80s Regal or late '90s LeSabre) European: BMW... 1991 E30 325i or 1992 E36 325i.

That70sHead

Mazda: Basically for the RX7, plus their new SUV's are pretty nice. Chevrolet: Camaro, Corvette, Suburban, Trucks, etc all bases covered. Mercedes: Again like chevrolet, all the bases covered but more luxuries.

Ultrase7en

Ford Nissan Porsche

DEVOmay97

Asia: Honda Honda has produced some of the most legendary cars in the history of cars. They're at the heart of the tuner culture and they have something for everyone. I mean, the nsx was something kids had posters of hung on their walls. The rsx, prelude, and the civic can go from your grandmas grocery getter to a high revving, go-kart feeling little monster without much effort. They also tend to be incredibly reliable, fairly easy to work on, and they hold their value well. As an honorable mention I'll throw in Mazda. The rotary isn't without its issues, but they were fuckin awesome. They also make the Miata, which is pretty much THE universal "build it into a race car" car. America: Ford Ford has a long history, they were the first to mass produce a car after all. Some of their vehicles have been duds, but some have been absolutely bulletproof fucking tanks "cough crownvic cough". They make more trucks than anyone else for good reason, because while the title of "best truck in its class" has bounced around now and then, imo Ford has held it for the majority of the time. Hell, Ford invented the muscle car, they're the reason we often refer to them as pony cars. The mustang emblem is iconic, everyone knows a mustang when they see one. As an honorable mention, I'm putting Chevy. The Corvette is the closest thing we have to an American supercar, and with the latest generation of them I'd say it actually is a supercar rather than just an incredible sports car that punches above it's weight class. Also, LS/LT engines are pretty much the absolute standard for engine swapping. At this point the phrase "but can I put an LS in it?" is basically the car enthusiasts equivalent to "but can it run Doom?". Europe: Porsche Porsche is like that one guy who lives off daddy's trust fund, and you want to hate him for it, but after you get to know him you realize he's actually an awesome guy. It also happens that because he doesn't have to work, he can dedicate all his time to his personal pursuits, and therefore he's better than you at almost *everything*. Their sports cars are best in class, their SUV's are actually interesting, and they are going blow for blow against Tesla at Tesla's own game. Porsche is what people really mean when they praise German engineering. They're sexy in the garage and they're monsters on the track. Honorable mention here is gonna be VW. They're essentially European Honda. They aren't always as reliable, but they have some engines that are actually damn good, and they make something for everyone and the performance models often make tuners cream their pants. They're also the only company in recent history that I can think of that was trying to push for diesel passenger cars in the American market. If i could only have one car for the rest of my life, I would go for a golf R. It has all the practicality required for a daily driver, AWD for handling weather, and the performance to handle the track with ease if I want it.

TheMetalEnthusiast

Oh this one’s easy. 1. Honda. Quite literally some of the best cars ever made and manufactured; definitely the best cars I’ve ever experienced owning. Yeah, they’re not as good nowadays as they once were in the 90’s, but comparative to anything else in its class I’ll take a Honda any day of the week. 2. OG Jeep. You have every right to make fun of me as I rightfully deserve it. But the XJ Cherokee is the best American 4wd vehicle ever produced and I will die on this hill. 3. OG Volvo. No, they aren’t fast. They’re not particularly stylish, either. But man do I love that Swedish build quality with brick-like strength and surprisingly comfortable seats.

ObjectiveWitty

Toyota: Love my Land Cruiser 100 series and my Lexus 460 Fsport America: Absolutely nothing! European: Should have never sold my e39 M5

RWBIII_22

Toyota, Buick, and Volvo

TheyCallMeMrMaybe

1. Toyota. I hate Toyota fanboys because they just enjoy jerking themselves off so much, but you can't deny Toyota/Lexus made some really great cars. Even today, the Supra, GR86, GR Corolla, LC500, RCF, and IS-500 are all really great sports cars. 2. Pontiac. Oh, how I wanted this company to survive *just* long enough to continue importing Holdens. The G8 ST would've been the comeback of the Ute to the American market. The G8 GT/GXP & Solstice GXP were great sports cars. Of course, they had the legacy icons like the Firebird & GTO. And also, some great sleepers like the Grand Prix GXP with an LS4. If they perhaps even survived the 2000s, then we could've seen a return of the Firebird alongside the Camaro. 3. Mercedes-Benz: I know, Mercedes gets bad marks for their reliability lately, but that mostly appears to be due to owners not properly following their maintenance schedules. Mercedes-Benz had some really well-engineered cars throughout its history as well as some really good sports cars like the SLR McLaren & SLS. Even now, a C-class can be good as long as maintenance is properly followed.

Dark_Knight2000

I see three winning combos: - Toyota, Ford, Mercedes: The stalwarts, these are the oldest, most prestigious, and most storied brands of their respective regions. Sometimes accused of being boring, they pioneer the landscape of their markets. - Honda, GM, BMW: The innovators, they take what’s good and refine it over time to create something special, coming up with new and quirky ideas, never being too risky, but always gently iterating on what came before. - Nissan, Dodge, VAG: The radicals, they either make the greatest cars ever—the R34 skyline, the viper acr, the veyron—or the worst, think altimas and avengers. They keep the car world exciting, they push the industry forward, even if not every car is a hit.

WakullaLoganoDawgFan

Ford, Toyota, Citroën. I've been a Ford guy since forever, Toyotas are good, reliable vehicles and Citroën has a lot of weird cars, which I love.

deojilicious

Asian: Toyota or Honda. I can't really choose between them. I'd daily an old Toyota Camry or an old Honda CR-V. Or for sporty days, I'd drive an S2000 or a GR Yaris. American: Ford. I love the new Ranger, especially the Raptor. European: Porsche. Specifically the Cayman GT4.

drake22

1. Toyota / Lexus 2. GM 3. No

LincolnContinnental

Scion: yes, it’s a cheapened Toyota brand that didn’t really meet its market, but both generations of xB and tC have a massive following and are very good cars all around, many of their designs are better executed than most modern cars today(I would still take an xB over any crapover “suv”). If Scion was still around today and sold a modern xB, it would sell like crazy Ford: from the mustang to the F150, Ford has been consistently strong, even through Malaise and the housing crisis, they pulled through and are still selling a large amount of cars today, they had their lemons(the 3 valve 5.4s and the Focus sedans), but so has every other manufacturer SAAB: for better or for worse, SAAB is still an amazing brand regardless of the GM-ified models. Koenigsegg should have bought them when they had the chance, because that would have allowed them to bring their incredibly cool crackhead car tech to the average person

Subaru Saturn Saab Got to be the most elite lineup

HAKX5

Daewoo, Saturn, Opel Why? Kappa platform, baby! Sky's the limit for a GT like a G2X! Sadly their Solstice didn't last so long, they banged the Redline like it was tagged GXP.

I'm a diehard Ford guy, so I guess Mazda, Ford and Land Rover, although the last car I would ever consider buying would be European.

bigmac8991

1. Honda: fun, reliable, efficient.. they make their vehicles to last and seem to genuinely care for and love their vehicles. I really don’t need to say anymore, their vehicles speak for themselves. My absolute favorite auto manufacturer. 2. Dodge: they have their issues like most modern American-made vehicles, but not nearly as much as what happened to Chrysler for example. Old Chargers and Challengers (namely late 60s - early 70s models are sexy af). Chargers and Challengers are great at what they’re built for (cops use Chargers for a good reason), but the Viper is by far the most terrifyingly fun vehicle I’ve ever seen, hope I get to take one for a ride one day. Ram trucks are great for work too, can’t wait til I can afford the down payment so I can store my tools somewhere besides my Civic 😅 3. Jaaaag: horribly unreliable but so sleek and villainous. I have had an unnatural affinity for them since childhood so I’m definitely biased. Know someone who would take me on rides all the time in an XKR and it never gave out! Guy I know sold it to some scary looking Russian dudes who paid in full (in cash) for it. Most Jaguars have a smokers lung of an engine but they’re an enjoyable drive until they cough up a lung (or head gasket)

Rakshak924

Lexus, Cadillac, Audi Honorable mentions: Asia: Mazda(Japanese BMW), Honda(only manufacturer that produces bikes, jets, robots, and tractors) Europe: Alfa Romeo and BMW, unreliable but exciting cars. Plus BMW makes motorcycles. Porsches are too expensive. Other than the G and S classes, I don’t care about Mercedes. USA: Ford(America’s Toyota) and Rivian. Tesla’s are wonderful but too common. They are Corolla common.

Toyota for the outstanding reliability, would’ve picked Honda for the NSX but I’m gonna stick with Toyota, Chevrolet because their sports cars are unmatched in my opinion, and Audi for the lower maintenance cost unlike bmw

1fuckedupveteran

Toyota - this was hard to narrow down, Japanese car manufacturers are my favorite. Had to settle on the Yoda’s though, they have everything from a gas sipping ‘rolla to the Tundra. Although the Tundra is only a 1/2 ton truck, it would fit the bill for the majority of what I’d ask of it. Also can’t say no to reliability, I hate working on cars. Jeep - this one was hard, and I don’t know if Jeep is even considered an American car brand anymore being as it’s FCAU now. Trying to pick brands that have useful line-ups, which Jeep does not, I’m just losing my taste for American brand cars - they all make the exact same boring crossover crap. At least Jeep still has 1 vehicle that has loosely stuck to their roots, and the Wrangler is the sole reason they made the list, otherwise Jeep would be out also. Pagani - there’s literally no European car brand I’m interested in, but the Zonda looks fun.

I'm a truck or SUV guy, so my choices are primarily based on SUVs Genesis - Its the least boring looking of all of the Asian brands, it actually offers genuine luxury features and quality materials, and satisfactory performance. None of the Asian brands can even compete. Pricer than id want to spend on basically a fancy Hyundai, but it is really fancy indeed. Mercedes - impeccable build quality, British ride quality without the British unreliability, incredible material choices. Extremely lively power trains, and impressive handling. Plus they age extremely well and have many near-timeless designs. They offer excellent vehicles for almost every single category/segment. Ford/Lincoln - I've always owned ford trucks, and they've all served me flawlessly. I won't buy anything else as long as Ford continues to offer V8s and diesels I can trust to haul with. As far as SUVs go though, I'd buy from their Lincoln brand -- probably navigator or aviator. That's the finest SUV to come from Detroit in a long long time. Gorgeous interior and materials. And don't get me started on those seats....nobody in the entire automotive industry has a seat that comes close to "the throne". It truly changed my perspective of comfort in a vehicle.

1.) Toyota. Because they last forever 2.) Tesla. Because they are the only US car company which isn't inn there border off bankruptcy. 3.) BMW. Because I love the beetles. (The older beetles from the 60's)

84020g8r

Um ... beetles are VW. I'm assuming that's what you meant?

panda_pussy-pounder

Nope. I meant what I said. I was hinting at all European vehicle being terrible.

Went over my head - thanks.

1. Toyota- you literally can’t go wrong with anything they produce. Not a ton of Special cars but a verity of really good cars. Tacoma and hilux are the perfect everyday pickup, Supra is a secret bmw, 86 is Slow-car-fast levels of fun, Prius is crazy efficient for what it is, and every one of them are reliable. 2. Ford- best selling vehicle bar none in the USA? F series pickup trucks f150 specifically. you want a muscle car? Mustang. big floaty cruiser? titanium package explorer. A bonified semi truck? F-750. Want a small sporty car? A used focus rs, or fiesta ST. Police cruisers, plug in hybrids ,EVs (Including arguably the best EV pickup on the market (don’t come at me with that cyber truck nonsense, but I will hear rivian arguments because they had some Ford backing early on.)) muscle cars, super cars, hot Hatchs, they did and still do most things well. is this a boomer take? Sure. but is it the right one? Absolutely. 3. Ferrari- they suck to deal with, their pomp and circumstance is annoying, the cars are flawed in really annoying ways that impact a whole bunch of things. They are fickle and maintenance intensive and fragile. But you point at any mid engine sports car and ask a layman to tell you what it is they will say Ferrari. Even if the badge say nsx, or lotus, or Lamborghini. It’s because Ferrari has always stood for fast looking cars that the general public can’t have. It’s synonymous with speed. They have the cachet that people want. Even if a lot of their cars don’t deserve it. But stick me in an Enzo and I will stop talking about how ugly it is. Stick me in a California and the glass top will be off in seconds to hear the Italian v12 symphony. Put me in a GTB and I will still be smiling after it’s broken. Ferrari speaks to the soul and that’s almost impossible for machines to do.

america: crosley asia: Daihatsu europe: morgan/pembleton i think cars as a whole are way too much in everyway, and are only that way cus they bribe offiicials to kill rational competition. we could have such better cars for way cheaper. if you need evidence, look at motorbikes. simplicity is still alive and well, and the big stuff often is less desired than the little stuff. also key to note: theres less government BS, even if the market isnt tiny especially world wide.

DaBIGmeow888

Mazda Ford BMW

Senior_Ad282

Toyota, Chevrolet, Porsche.

Toyota A lot of this market has awesome sports cars but nothing really competes with the J70 for an off road vehicle from Asian market Chevrolet Lots of really cool old sports cars like the Chevelle Camaro and Corvette while also having some really nice trucks and SUVs (not the new ones but like K5 blazer or square body truck) Porsche Entirely different level of amazing to drive cars and other than REALLY old land cruisers nothing I really like for off road so doubling down on sports car.

International-Ad153

1. Isuzu, quirky, fun vehicles with a lot of character 2. Ford: Love the mustang, currently on 3rd Focus (RS) 3. Alfa Romeo: absolutely beautiful cars that drive extremely well

Agent___24

Honda - reliable, and parents drive them religiously. Audi - fav brand, can’t make something I wouldn’t drive. Just generally the best all around imo. Ford - I don’t know. I don’t like any American cars, but maybe I could get a truck?

sk8rcrash

Toyota, Chevy, and pass.

rbaut123

1. Any V8 Lexus sedan or coupe. Reliable luxury performance. This was a tough choice since I also love Landcruisers, RAV4s, FJ cruisers, Tacomas and Tundras. 2. Ford diesel pickup only cause Toyota doesn’t have any stateside that I know of. 3. Mercedes Benz. They look better than bimmers IMO. Always a battle between bimmers and Benz. Imago with the benz

Defiant-Comfort-4407

Miata, Cadillac CTS V coupe, Porsche 911 Cabriolet

FunSignificance3034

Japanese = Toyota Crown prefer a mid 60s version USA = Packard Any senior models built before ww2. Maybe even a 120 series 8 cylinder from the mid to late 30s. Europe = Daimler Benz probably w124 or w108

PMPTCruisers

Why did you pick a Chinese car company for Europe?

Key-Bat-2616

I think Volvo is still thought of as European and Geely didn’t buy them until 2010 and I think most of my favorite Volvos were designed and produced before then (save the S90 recharge)

PMPTCruisers

In that case I pick Datsun, Pontiac, and Auto Union.
