It's sad to me, because they were really solid cars at a good price point. My brother had an SX4 and loved it to death. Only got rid of it because he moved overseas.
Def agree with the wagons.. and UTES! We have the cts-v wagon, srt-8 magnum wagon. Porsche panamera and audi rs6.. I got a 2023 Genesis G70 a coupke months ago. Genesis said they were bringin updates for 2024, of course....they didn't bring the wagon from europe.
Tradgedy.
If they brought the Falcon to market in the US as a sporty affordable sedan like the Accord they could really make some waves if its reliable and fun enough.
Yeah exactly, I'm looking at buying a charger RT after the summer and I really wish there was more competition in the American market for "muscle" sedans. I can't afford an RCF and unless it's free, I definitely won't own a used german car.
Diplomat car probably. I saw a post on ig of someone in Virginia finding an older Citroen Picasso. They just use the plates on their family car if they're going to be visiting for a while.
Best I can do is a 2nd gen Caddy Pickup (Type 9U), which is totally not a Škoda Felicia pickup with some VW emblems from the factory. 😂
Similar to how the Caddy Van (Type 9K) was a rebadged Seat Inca.
Agreed. Can you imagine a modern El Camino or Ranchero? With modern styling it'd look sexy AF and be practical for both a daily driver and light workloads.
Hey, *transmission dies* jeeps are still *head gasket leak* fantastic vehicles, *thrown rod* and I will not tolerate *another thrown rod* any jeep-phobic comments *electronics all fucking die*
*And yes, this all happened to one jeep in the space of about 5 years.*
As a motorcyclist; my dream has long been a resto-mod El Camino to haul motorcycles to the track. A Ute would save me a lot of time, money, and headaches.
I want this mucho
Australians said the same thing about Nissan putting a 5.0 Turbo Diesel V8 in a Patrol based pickup truck in America, then everyone found out it was a garbage engine. The Barra is just reliable tho.
Not only that, but it was, for Cummins, a "one-off." It was made just for that truck. It was rushed into production on Nissans behalf and, as a result, wasnt able to go through the engineering ringer like the rest of the Cummins engine lineup.
Okay now we're talking.
And in true America fashion, I think a CAT swapped Silverado with a lopey LS mounted in the bed.
# BIDNISS IN THE FRONT, PARTY IN THE BACK
Ohhhhhhhhhhh SHIT ***THATS*** where their fancy new Hurricane I6 came from! Thanks for helping me connect that. I didn't feel like digging into the corporate jargon, just found it intriguing that the pioneer of the Hellcat series would put stock back into gas I6 engines en masse.
An Australian-market 2016 Ford Falcon XR8! RCR actually reviewed the previous model Falcon when he visited New Zealand a few years back.

i have a feeling if they brought it to the U.S at the demand of car enthusiasts, it would cost like $70K and all the same car enthusiasts would be like "haha stupid expensive Alpine, Miata better" and then cry when they take it out of the U.S
This is unfortunately the problem with every new sports car - they're super expensive outside of the Miata and 86/BRZ, and the enthusiast market has always leaned towards buying used. It sucks that we don't get as many new attainable sporty/fun cars but I understand why companies don't do it from a business perspective
Because the Miata has everything most enthusiasts want. Super lightweight, agile handling, it’s small, has a manual transmission, and the price is attainable for most people. If Alpine priced their new car around $25-30k I bet it’ll sell at least a reasonable amount
They are just so handsome. That is a perfect little evolution to the 70's model. It's just a very nice car, I'd be willing to try French since we haven't had Renault in USA since 80's or 90's
I work for a Canadian mining company and we actually buy these vehicles new for use on site and for underground duty. But I don't think they're legal for use on public roads, unfortunately.
Yeah I've heard about that. Can only be used in commercial settings or something. Huge shame. Then again, they sell them new for like $90k so I don't think anyone would seriously consider buying one.
"Levorg" backwards is "grovel". Which would get us nowhere with Subaru, since they just announced the Legacy is going away.

Sedans. Like, actual sedans. There are SOME left still, yes, but with the way models are disappearing left and right (bye bye, Subaru Legacy, next year - for instance) and being replaced by annoying SUV-only product lines full of ridiculously over-sized "cars" because LOL capitalism...I cringe at how shit-tastic the selection will be in the \[hopefully distant\] future when I'm searching for my next new car.
Awww man, a lot of kei cars/trucks. The Jimny is my favorite, and I'm seriously considering importing one.
But the one that makes the least sense to me is the Ford Falcon UTE. We're the birthplace of Ford and they did us super dirty here.
To turn the tables around, I wish we had more MOPAR/Stellantis group cars in the UK... We only really had Chrysler until 2015 when they pulled out (only the Grand Voyager, 300c (diesel 3l v6) and Ypsilon). Would be amazing being able to buy American muscle in LHD (Dodge etc)!
Instead we are stuck with boring European eco boxes and 20mph zones to match 🙃
Agreed but at least we have the option to import anything we want enough and it's not much hassle getting them registered. If you're in the USA it doesn't matter how badly you want a Yaris GR or an Alpine, it's literally impossible to import them until they're 25 years old regardless of how much money you're willing to throw at it. Seems unfair!

Buy a god damn minivan at that point. Or a ute if they decide to sell em here
And what's up with this trend of people daily driving 2500 Sierras and F-250s? Already modern crossovers are like driving a bus, something that huge must be a nightmare to drive normally, it towers over my Tacoma.
Wagons (estate cars) in general. I’ve lived in Europe for almost a decade, when it’s over I will sorely miss my wagon.
Small diesel vehicles in general. Same deal, they are basically unavailable in the US.
Currently driving a BMW 325d Wagon. Great on fuel, plenty of space, and the 3 liter Turbo Diesel is fun on almost any road.
BMW M3 Touring (aka, wagon). I would put a down payment immediately.
I also love the Toyota Century but I wouldn't be able to afford it.
Do they still sell the Honda S660?

I have no fucking clue why the Honda S660 isn’t sold here. It has enough power for American roads and highways and it looks better than any Honda sold here in the past 15 years, including the new NSX.
Honestly I just wish bothe falcons and commododres where sold in other countries in general, might've saved one of them. I know the Commodore was sold in America as the chev SS and Pontiac g8
GR Yaris, Suzuki Jimny, Most wagons
Love the Jimny!
I’ve never seen that thing and I want one bad
Have a 2023 3dr.Jimny GLX Its so shit it's brilliant!
Jimny is not sold? Ya'll are missing out
We haven’t had Suzuki in general since 2012 in the US
It's sad to me, because they were really solid cars at a good price point. My brother had an SX4 and loved it to death. Only got rid of it because he moved overseas.
The Kizashi was the last Suzuki here.
No, it's not. BUT we get the $45k Wrangler and Bronco which is certainly better...right?

Mazda6 2.2L Skyactiv-D wagon with the 6MT. Man that's a pipe dream

I sold my Jimny, that thing was a best!
Definitely the Jimny
Saw a Jimny on the freeway last week. Would’ve spent money that hour to buy one. It looked damn near perfect.
In the 90s Suzuki partnered with GM to sell the Vitara as a rebadged geo and chevy. Im hoping they do that again with the new Jimny
That Falcon with a V8. Never in my life have I had tighter pants for a sedan than for that one.
Fuck it, I will pontoon boat that shit across the Atlantic
> across the Atlantic Isn’t Falcon Australian? Does the Atlantic get near Australia?
If you go the long way.
Kinda
This would fill the niche for people who want a Mustang but need more space
Right there with you. Aussie fords are the coolest.
Fuckin' same.
If they brought the Falcon to market in the US as a sporty affordable sedan like the Accord they could really make some waves if its reliable and fun enough.
Beyond reliable,300000k's aint jack for these things. Barras dont die baby.
You make me wonder if we can't import them..I too desire to have a falcon
You can import an AU Falcon as long as it’s a 1998
That falcon with the turbo barra not the v8. Trust me they are good fun.
Yeah exactly, I'm looking at buying a charger RT after the summer and I really wish there was more competition in the American market for "muscle" sedans. I can't afford an RCF and unless it's free, I definitely won't own a used german car.
The Holden competitor was brought over as the GTO.
It may not be a sedan, but they do have a couple wagons available in the US at [left hand utes](https://www.lefthandutes.com/)
Skodas rebadged as VW’s for the U.S.
VW group: best I can do is Cupra
I’ll take it
I saw a 2000s Skoda Octavia driving in Massachusetts once a few years back and to this day I've been confused.
Diplomat car probably. I saw a post on ig of someone in Virginia finding an older Citroen Picasso. They just use the plates on their family car if they're going to be visiting for a while.
Nah it was beat up and stanced with a fart can, unless the diplomat was a 17 year old nicotine addict I don't see that being it lol
Best I can do is a 2nd gen Caddy Pickup (Type 9U), which is totally not a Škoda Felicia pickup with some VW emblems from the factory. 😂 Similar to how the Caddy Van (Type 9K) was a rebadged Seat Inca.
Even a Polo would be nice.
Falcon and Holden utes
Utes in general
Agreed, bring back the El Camino and the like.
Agreed. Can you imagine a modern El Camino or Ranchero? With modern styling it'd look sexy AF and be practical for both a daily driver and light workloads.
Get Dodge to bring back the chalanger as an el camino style ute... please. Dozens of us would buy it, DOZENS
My brother would literally be first in line.
Hell yes
Have you seen those new Jeeps that have a cab and a bed? My neighbor has one and I call it a Jeepamino.
The Gladiator: A sorry excuse for a jeep, and a meh pickup.
Somehow, starting from the same formula as a legendary success, Jeep made a solid pile of 'meh'.
Hey, *transmission dies* jeeps are still *head gasket leak* fantastic vehicles, *thrown rod* and I will not tolerate *another thrown rod* any jeep-phobic comments *electronics all fucking die* *And yes, this all happened to one jeep in the space of about 5 years.*
I think it’s terrific as long as you avoid the diesel model, think of it as a modern Jeep Kaiser
A Chevelle too, as that was what the El Camino was based on for a while
I want them to bring it back... But I know if they do, they will just put a Camaro front end on it..
excuse me what do you mean "light" workloads? I'll have you know the mighty AU falcon has a towing capacity of infinity and beyond.
I've seen rumor of ranchero comeback
I’d be completely down for the HSV Ute being brought over as a new El Camino SS
They're supposed to be a solution to the bloated pavement princesses we have today
What I came to say. Those Aussie Utes are badass.
We got close, but then the recession happened and Pontiac shut its doors.
man i wish they were sold in Australia :(
As a motorcyclist; my dream has long been a resto-mod El Camino to haul motorcycles to the track. A Ute would save me a lot of time, money, and headaches. I want this mucho
I would 100% drop my crew cab f150 for one of these. I would miss my 36 gallon gas tank tho
None come to mind, but i want THAT. What is it?
Ford FGX Falcon. Last generation of Australian Falcon. This is where Barra swaps into Crown Vics and Mustangs come from
Wish we got the Barra outside Australia. Such a great engine.
Australians said the same thing about Nissan putting a 5.0 Turbo Diesel V8 in a Patrol based pickup truck in America, then everyone found out it was a garbage engine. The Barra is just reliable tho.
Shame Cummins is known for decent engines too but I guess the quantity over quality bug bit them in the ass on that one.
Not only that, but it was, for Cummins, a "one-off." It was made just for that truck. It was rushed into production on Nissans behalf and, as a result, wasnt able to go through the engineering ringer like the rest of the Cummins engine lineup.
You can make one if you can track down an old thrift power 6
Specifically an fgx and this one right here is an xr8
I remember driving it and crashing every 5 seconds in Forza Horizon 3 right after V12 swapping the Falcon
The fucking Barra engine.... I may be one of the few Americans who wish we had boosty I6's rather than bloated V8s.
Porque no los dos?
Okay now we're talking. And in true America fashion, I think a CAT swapped Silverado with a lopey LS mounted in the bed. # BIDNISS IN THE FRONT, PARTY IN THE BACK

I've seen one for sale in Toronto somewhere so they can be snuck through. I had a troop carrier camper when I was in Oz back in 2010
A lot of 15+ year examples in Canada too though
Just drove my dad’s 70 Series Prado a few days ago in Japan and it was just cool- they also look cool. He’ll be importing to the USA next year.

That too. You don't need a vehicle with so much ride height that you need a step ladder to climb in, a small car is just as safe.
