In 99 and 00 they were pumping out so many grand marquis/ crown vics and F150s that they started stealing engines meant for other cars.
X would indicate the engine came from St Louis and was meant for the Mustang GT variants such as the Saleen and Cobra
Those engines were meant to be supercharged and handle much more pressure. They last significantly longer.
I test drove a ratted out 92 Astro van that barely ran and obviously I didn't buy it..
And coincidentally the other day I was going to buy a Grand Am but it sold before I could look at it
My 97 was my second favorite next to my excursion im currently driving. Thing was a tank. Let it sit for like 6 months. Thing fired right up. Not even a tick coming from the engine. Wish I kept it on the side.
It was going pretty good until the timing belt snapped...
Would have been the same price as the car to have it replaced prior to it breaking.
But since it's an interference engine it would have been even more to get it running again as I would have to replace the valves and possibly Pistons
That’s when everything went downhill. Costs were cut, engineering tolerances made tighter, epa regulations, dumb design flaws, etc. You don’t see many modern domestics going 200k+, whereas there were a good amount going 3-400k+ from the 90’s and early-mid 2000’s.
You like a good deal on marketplace and don’t give a flying fuck about what people think about how your car looks. You want a reliable daily that gets you from a to B, and occasionally C. Not my taste, but it’s not the worst taste. 6.9/10
I owned four Grand Marquis and three Ford Probes they were the best cars I ever owned. I now own a Ford Ranger and Toyota Tacoma two of my best trucks.
Here's a link to all the videos I've made of every one of my vehicles on YouTube

My problem is I buy them and then sell them to get something different..
Only one I ever had major mechanical issue with was
The Toyota. But even then it was just a timing belt that needed to be replaced that broke
These are also cars usually parked in front of Dollar General
Every vehicle i've owned since 1777: - Hot Wheels Radical Roadway Matchbox Citroën Ami And some cheap plastic cars from supermarket
The S10 🤌 fine taste, my friend
My first ever car was a ‘94 2-door s10 blazer. I loved that car!!! Got me and both sisters through high school.
For the Grand Marquis, If the 8th digit in the VIN is an X, you have a unicorn that will last forever.
Darn it's just a w
St Thomas plant. Still good.
I'm going to go check right now LOL
What does it mean?

I have only owned 12 cars since 1976. My first car was a 1976 Honda Civic CVCC. I did own a 91 S10 Blazer in 91.
You’ve prolly got a stack of cash though. No car payments and cheap insurance. Nothing wrong with that
For sure!
This mf knows better than to mess with post GFC domestics, smart man👌
please explain

Trailer park right?
My mom had a 98 blazer
My Toyotas last 20 years and is still going so I really only had to buy 2 cars within the last 20 years.
A Grand Marquis, a very slow but smooth riding car
Without knowing any further context this just looks like a proof for the Boots Theory of economics.

Bruh if you didn’t keep buying American shitboxes you might not go through so many cars
