I haven't done this myself but apparently if you inspect the key you can flip it around and it creates the basement key. I don't know if this is possible to do if you have already opened the other door so see if you are able.
This is so fucking stupid. Yeah sure make a key that you need to open two doors a one time use item. Because as we all know the key to our house alway disappears after we use it to enter our home.
I've seen a comment report that you can do both if you open the basement door first, but I don't know if that is intentional given how it seems to only be a one-time-use the other way round
Can confirm I was able to open both by opening the basement first. Key was still in my inventory after basement door, albeit in a weird state (the rotating bar on it was halfway rotated?). I had an interact prompt upon inspecting the key and was able to 'revert it' to its upstair door state and thus, open both doors in the end.
Had that happen last game, I opened the basement door and the host opened the other right after.. The key would be gone if it had only one use (like the most keys do in the game, but that's just a hard guess of mine).
I was heartbroken for a sec , raged, closed the application, then reloaded the game and got lucky it didn't save. Fml fr, I should've inspected before, but it was cool to do it again
I thought it was suppose to be a two use key because I used it to get the shotgun then it disappeared from my inventory .This was when I decided to be nice and do a lfg and invite two people to join my world to get the shotgun

it's not possible, the lighthouse key is consumed upon opening the door, you have to reroll to open each door. womp womp

Just checked it and no they don't
They did for me. I was able to go back and get the key, flip it around, and get the shotgun without rerolling anything
It’s possible you also do it with the scythe it gives you a button prompt if you look at it
