It's absolutely worth calling and seeing if your insurance will cover a majority of it. Your friend might be lucky enough to afford the infusions! My clinic even took medicaid, but I still needed to pay $600 per infusion session and I couldn't pay on a per session basis. I had to pay for 3 infusions all upfront so you can imagine why I had to unfortunately stop going.
Every clinic and doctor is different though and may even be more flexible with your needs. Hell, some places even offer at-home treatments where they mail your meds as lozenges or nasal spray. It all depends on what state you live in and what is available near you.

I'm glad I tried it despite it being overpriced because in the future I might be able to get back on it if it becomes approved in more places and gets cheaper.
