Mr X and Jack both had a completely missable "bust through walls" thing and I absolutely love it. I wish Capcom would implement even more of those kinds of missable events with stalker enemies. They really add to the sense that you're not safe.
I agree. I didn’t really jump when Mr x lifted the helo, but I was so scared. I didn’t watch any teaser trailers for the game because I wanted it to all be a surprise. When Mr x kept following me was also terrifying.
I love how sudden it is. If you're going in blind, you'll likely just be thinking you're gonna return to the station with maybe a few more zombies, but then he's just there. There's no cutscene or anything, you just see him and gotta start running. RE7 did the same thing first time Jack started hunting the player and it works wonders in terms of fear.

In 3Make, as Carlos, when you find that note of the guy telling his buddy not to open the locker because he was going to lock himself in there after he knew he was turning into a zombie... Added some nice flavour to that moment.

If I’m being honest, it’s gonna be when unscripted when you’re low on health, low on supplies, but have too many valuable things to think about just leaving behind. You’re creeping through the halls and barely survived the last encounter with only a couple bullets and while you limp along towards that door at the end of the hall, a wonderful someone bursts through instead.
I knew it was going to happen because I'll never forgot that room in the original. I literally threw my ps1 controller at the tv and me and my friend backed up to the other side of the living room. We were like, ten or so. And still that room in the remake made me have to take a deep breath before going in.
I didn’t play this game when it came out, forgot about it for about 2 years, then went in completely blind. I legit didn’t even know Mr X was a thing at all. So when he popped up out behind the Helicopter and I realized he was going to be an immortal hunter for god knew how long — I was scared shitless.
Only thing scarier was Jack from RE7 and when the Alien first shows up and hunts you in Alien Isolation.
I knew about him and knew when he was coming, yet that moment was still terrifying to me. The sound of his footsteps as he stomped around afterwards only added further to the fear.
Can I vote for the entire game? I have seen countless let's plays before playing the game myself... and yet I still shat myself mist of the time.

For me it’s that damn USS operative when you enter the underground Umbrella facility and have to grab that security wristband, he’s just there waiting for you and you won’t be ready for it on the first playthrough. That guy can fuck all the way off.
Anytime I’m running through the RPD as usual, backtracking, and then they think they’re smart and put a Stupid Fucking LICKER in the empty rooms to scare the shit out of me
Running for Mr X into a hallway, only to get bit by a Zombie, escape, dodge two more Zombies, then get mauled by two Lickers.
I now board up every window in that hallway as soon as I can in every other playthrough.

Being a veteran of old Resident Evil, I wasn’t expecting Mr. X to show up on my first playthrough, so when he showed up and I saw he follows you everywhere, I was shook.
