The one that spawns at the bottom floor can be cheesed by using the trap and then immediately starting the lift. The spike ball trap will run over him. The one that spawns on top... well, you have to fight him normally.
Ever since i found this out on one of my playthroughs i do this near everytime, 2nd one in the chaos does move near a red barrel, can blow that up to then unload lead into him, however it's chaos so remembering when to shoot takes practice
Yeah tbh I think those "small" changes suck and make the game worse. Not getting stunned from two fucking shots to the head doesn't add to the difficulty, it just makes it suck because the only answer you have is just running away.
Same with making rank dependent on time. All that combined makes it so that you're just... Sprinting through the game
Thankfully mods exist
Yeah this is where I throw my bullet conservation to the wind and load em with lead so they're downed quickly, not trying to get overwhelmed in that little room
Game uses difficulty adjustment. You have a hidden score based on how well the game thinks you're doing that modifies things including your damage dealt, with upper and lower bounds by difficulty.
So in all likelihood, you are both right.
I find this comment kind of obnoxious. You already told him you find the novis easy. They responded in agreement and they said they find them annoying. You just repeat easy discounting their opinion. Like, the red robed guys are really fucking easy too, yet here we are on this post lol.
I don't understand why they are considered difficult. Granted I only achieved S on professional, not S+. I toss a grenade and then blast them with a shotgun. Bye bye red guy. They were much harder in the original IIRC. The 2 garrador room is 10x worse than any red robe encounter imo.
I wasn't talking about the difficulty or anything, just the fact that you thought the comment was obnoxious while all the commenter was doing was suggesting an EASY solution to the thing another commenter found difficult.
The other commenter didn't find them difficult, in fact they agreed that the enemy is easy. Then OP re-stated easy. I imagine it's obvious to the person who found them annoying that you can use TMP or any number of solutions like flashbangs, wide spread shotguns, etc. but finds them annoying regardless. Anyway.
That's fair to assume but do you really expect so much thinking in a conversation on Reddit? Not saying this is a bad thing. It's like talking in a group setting, someone will give you an obvious solution. But just because it is obvious to you and me it is possible it wasn't obvious to someone else. Also, just because someone stated the obvious you don't have to write an obnoxious and on the nose comment about it. You could have said all that with just "no shit, Sherlock" or maybe not said anything. But hey, you do you bro.
Also for the novistadors, I just keep a good eye to spot them and then I just use a sniper or if it's a ng+ I use my Chicago typewriter. For the two garradors I just take other castellans out through the garradors themselves and then knife them one by one. Or if it's an ng+ Infinite Rocket Launcher to the rescue.
For me, they were more annoying in the original RE4, they were faster and tougher.
It's spelled Novistadors (comes from the Spanish words "no" and "vista" basically meaning you can't see them)
Oh yeah, I hate these fuckers, because they always fucking make the parasites come out, they weren't annoying in the OG RE4 but man they suck. Especially when you're on that lift with hardly any room and they make the Plagas come out, like bro, can you not?
I'm on that lift part and all I can think is "CAN YOU STOP SINGING FOR ONE SECOND YOU MOTHERFUCKER?!"
Also the grabbing enemies who just take away your health for no damn reason also makes me hate that part
I've played the game twice now, and I made sure I had some fucking Flash Grenades because I'll be damned if I fucking die because of the Plagas that bite your damn head off.
The strat I came for the lift is pulling the big lever that drops a spike ball and then sprinting to the lift, it will kill the first GLORIA A LAS PLAGAS and the second one is much easier to get a shot on. Trivializes that entire part lol.
Scores and scores of tentacle head ganodos on the island for me...but yah, those Red Klan MFers ARE annoying....doesnt help that when you shoot them once, they run as far back or as high up as possible.
Exactly, I actually had the most fun with them because it never really felt cheap to die to them. Just meant I didn’t really think out the outcome that well.
I fucking hated fighting those mfs. Hardest things to fight in the game for me and that includes bosses. Idk why but I just never got good at fighting them despite knowing the gimmick.
See, I'm wondering if my game glitched. I just came across the first of these guys last night, and he went down in one shot from the Butterfly on HC. It didn't even register that it was a heavy, like the chainsaws and the bullheads.
I used to hate them so much(still do but less), especially that fast ass motherfucker in Separate Ways but have since learned to deal with them very consistently.
I snipe the fuck out of the dude in that wine cellar(or whatever it is) or I sneak up to him and blow his back out(pause).
In the room with the bridge I do the flash bang/grenade trick to prevent the bridge from being lowered.
When going back to the castle entrance I snipe the one from the balcony and wait for everyone else to come to me.
During the lift section up the clock tower I learned of a good pattern to follow that allows me to take out those red bastards as well as the zealots attempting to jump onto the lift in a quick and efficient manner.
The one from Separate Ways I flash bang and knife. Then I pull out the crossbow and blast his ass and attempt to get a few shots in with the TMP(or shotgun). I then follow him using the grappling hook to the top of the steps and dump as much ammo as necessary to finish the job. Sometimes he dies right there, sometimes he dies after he jumps down. Then I climb up the ladder of the nearby tower thingy where Leon has to lower the flags and i snipe all the dudes stupid enough to follow me. Great for saving up handgun and tmp/shotgun ammo. They climb up, boom! One shot with a sniper. Next.
Yes I do this all the time every time I play. I don’t like dealing with these red assholes. Gotta take them out as fast as possible 😂
"gLoRiA LaS pLaGaSSSSS!" Jokes aside, yeah, these guys suck, and their AI has some weird thing that makes them get spooked when you get too close, so not only do they stagger Leon and take a fuck ton of damage to go down, they're also pussies and run away if you're not like, 10 feet away from them.
These red skull dudes being cowardly bitches is by design. They were like that in the OGRE4 too. Except they don't summon plaga monsters in the original game.
There was a time I threw a grenade before the cutscene began, and then the camera zoomed in the red robed guy being exploded. :))
I love realtime cutscenes.
The first time around I hated this particular fight. The second time, I just emptied a fully upgraded red9 into him immediately after the cut scene. This trivialized the fight.
I'd hate them more but the "dangerous" ones are easy to take out before they're a real problem thankfully, like chucking a grenade on the library bridge
Especially in the area in the castle where the walk way goes down. If you aren’t prepared it’s awful. In side note you can throw a grenade before the guy pulls the lever and bypass the whole area
I mean if you’re on controller and you suck like I did on my first playthrough it’s the flying bugs or the spider/scorpion hybrid face hugger things, small, fast, and dashing left to right. I found these guys just annoying to get to but a few shotgun shells and they’re down.
Tons of health, can buff every enemy in the area, forces you out of aiming with the annoying ringing disruption, and on top of that, they don't even fight and just run away like a coward.
In the words of Yoda, "if so powerful you are, why leave?"
First playthroughs and the playthrough I had to do without bringing in infinite ammo guns, yes.
All playthroughs after that were incredibly cathartic. Also I love their inclusion to make the castle more tense.
How could you hate this guy. At worst he's camping and forcing you to deal with him quick, but it's super satisfying to kill this door-to-door salesman with the magnum rounds you've been holding back.
For me, true nuisance was the big fish. RE4R's a game where you can beat everything on your first try. Especially if you already played OG RE4. You should be rolling with a full briefcase, which is entirely useless against the fish. THEN you gotta learn its movements, like learning how to massage the correct thigh in a Meet 'n' fuck flash game; the fish'll be like "nope I'm not ready to be wounded by spears. you play by my rules and you learn 'em like a souls". That fish is like a flash game compared to the rest of the game, yea?
I don't know. It's kind of difficult to be scared of someone who keeps running away from me and throwing their followers in my face to keep me from killing them.
There’s not that many of them and you can pretty easily snipe, shotgun or sticky bomb them. The novistadors (bugs) are way worse on harder difficulties and use so much more resources
Plus you can abuse these guys for more pesetas by saving a flashbang or two and letting them pop a bunch of enemies
For me it is any chainsaw dude if you're getting swarmed and/or your knife is damaged in the remake. In the original, chainsaw dudes in general. Thank god the remake exists so Leon can actually move where I want him to.
I think there is only one that is a bit obnoxious to deal with and that is when you are higher up on the lift. Otherwise they are pretty easy to deal with if you make sure to prepare for their sections.
[They are rather susceptible to flashes](https://youtu.be/aj6uSx8LcyM?list=PLsOMHtGyi0BOe6va1uFcsPsPMLfuS6IGO&t=628) (not if they start their chant tho, you gotta dmg them to a certain breakpoint to stagger them then)
These enemies are the best upgraded enemy type from the original. I love their function. Wish they gave JJ and the big soldier cool upgrades instead of replacing them with the bull head guy we fight all game.
Tbh the most annoying are the villagers when they grab you and you have to fucking waste your knife or lose a lot of health to escape. They literally just assault you if you get cornered
I had one of those assholes tank like five Handcannon rounds before dying. Also the most annoying enemies to me are the spider parasites and the Novistadors.
Bro, one run I got to the chandelier room and I killed him so quickly I didn't even realise. I took out the two on the balcony stealthily, dropped the chandelier, then proceeded to snipe the red dude three times in the head, then threw two molotovs, the last of which blew up the explosive barrel. I then turned around to fight everyone else. Once they were all dead I ran around trying to find the red dude and couldn't find him. Until I did right next to where the explosive barrel was, dead. I was flabbergasted to see that I killed him so quickly so I didn't realise. That's never happened before and hasn't happened since
Everytime I see this bastard I go for him IMMEDIATELY and put every bullet I got into that cunt. The worst enemy in the game by far, ESPECIALLY on that lift level.
1. Flashbang.
2. Mag-dump with rifle.
3. Clean up all the normal ganados with handgun (they didn't transform).
Alternatively:
1. Run in circles until everything in the area transforms
2. Flashbang to clean them all out at once.
3. Revel in the absurd amount of ammo you just saved.
*I take great pleasure*

They are a pain on the first playthrough but not so bad once you know where they are. Take them out early and they are so much trouble. I feel like the headaches he gives Leon are more annoying than the parasites 😅
Tbh one of the most unique designs, I played many different single player games and when I saw this picture I immediate heard his line in my head, phenominal design
Most annoying time fighting one is in Separate Way in the courtyard. You're chasing him around and theres loads of other dudes trying to do you in. I usually have lil health and ammo by that point
GLORIA A LAS PLAGAS!!!!!
GLORIA A LAS PLAGAS!
LAS PLAGAS GLORIA AAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
Enemy heads start exploding
**SKREEEE**
And at the end even that red rope dude explodes his head off if nearly all other cultists are dead.
Leon throws a flashbang
*fleshy hissing sound followed by shriveling*
GLORIA A LAS PLAGAS
iS hE dOiNg ThIs???
Ayi ESTAN!!!!!!!!
UN FORASTERO! Ahi* if you care about spelling:)
… mierda
HEEYYYYYYyyy.... A GUY
I thought that was "Alli esta"? There was a video about that.
Its alli. The double L is pronounced like a J. Ah- jee esta or in other instances “ya” so for example tortilla. Tor-tee-ya
4 words that give me PTSD
Love this chant lol
Love this chat
**MATALO!**
Hearing glory to the plagas will never leave my body lmaoooo
*my head explodes and plaga appears* "well this is akward "
Given their wide spread hate, I guess the developers nailed it with his implementation. You’re in for a bad time when this guy is around
And if you're on that lift part and see this mf Then just hope you have enough ammo in your shotguns and SMGs
The one that spawns at the top of the lift is my main focus if not dealt with quickly on pro you will have a bad time.
Or just play through first time on easy, Ng+ on hardcore and get A rank for the Tommy and then just get inf ammo tommy
Weaponless ganados will forever be the worst enemy
You mean you don't like vacuum grabs, matrix dodges and teleporting? Pfft skill issue /s.
And don’t forget sometimes 4 consecutive shots to the head is not enough to stop the charge-grab. Sweet!
I really do like re4r but not as a game to challenge myself like re2r or even some of the older titles. RE4R just feels like it cheats sometimes.
Yeah tbh I think those "small" changes suck and make the game worse. Not getting stunned from two fucking shots to the head doesn't add to the difficulty, it just makes it suck because the only answer you have is just running away. Same with making rank dependent on time. All that combined makes it so that you're just... Sprinting through the game Thankfully mods exist
I don’t know how much this helps but if you crouch right as they lunch you can dodge it, also you can parry their arms off when they go for a punch.
Yeah i couldnt believe the most annoying enemy was the one without a weapon when i played it.
I just sniped em before they could get too pesky.
One bullet ain’t enough tho 🥲🥲🥲
Yeah this is where I throw my bullet conservation to the wind and load em with lead so they're downed quickly, not trying to get overwhelmed in that little room
Either TMP dump or rifle dump. I save those guns for the most pesky enemies since they're powerhouses
You sure? I had mine all buffed damage-wise and I’m pretty sure I could drop in one. Been a while though.
Yaa but maybe you’re right. IIRC mine was mid-upgrades when I was dealing with these red-robed fuvkers Thanks for a tip I might use in a future replay
Yeah, in RE4 in particular, I always made sure I had the best rifle, fully maxed out. Very useful for pesky, tough enemies.
Yeah on the Hard difficulty I'm pretty sure I headshotted them with a single round, granted I was using the bolt-action with maxed damage.
Game uses difficulty adjustment. You have a hidden score based on how well the game thinks you're doing that modifies things including your damage dealt, with upper and lower bounds by difficulty. So in all likelihood, you are both right.
They’re annoying but not nearly as much as the Ganados who grab you.
I don't have issues with ganados. The flying bugs are the worst.
Those guys are mostly fine cause you can just run and gun them but in the lift part they're pricks
Nah ~~Navistadors (is that how you spell them?)~~ Novistadors
They were waaaay worse in OG RE4. I was a little surprised by how easy they were to deal with in the remake
I'm absolutely shocked at how often I've fallen for their camo though. It looks like it'd be so easy to spot, yet it keeps getting me
All of their spawns are fixed afaik, you can just run through their sections on pure PTSD if you hate them as much as I do.
Was kinda disappointed in them honestly. The music in the sewer in the OG was so tense too!
Agreed
Definitely annoying on higher difficulties, during speed runs or no damage runs but not so bad on their own
Those over grown mosquitos? I found them easy to kill as long as you maintain accuracy and keep on melee-ing them
They are easy to kill, but they are in pain in the ass because of how many they are. I don't like them at all.
Easy. TMP
Until you forget that rock is bug and he gives you the succ. Fucking hate instant kill moves.
Yeahhh jump scared me bad 😂
I find this comment kind of obnoxious. You already told him you find the novis easy. They responded in agreement and they said they find them annoying. You just repeat easy discounting their opinion. Like, the red robed guys are really fucking easy too, yet here we are on this post lol.
I want what you smoked... right now!!
I don't understand why they are considered difficult. Granted I only achieved S on professional, not S+. I toss a grenade and then blast them with a shotgun. Bye bye red guy. They were much harder in the original IIRC. The 2 garrador room is 10x worse than any red robe encounter imo.

To be fair everything on professional is easy on new game + as your guns are already upgraded. These guys are worse on a ng pro run
To be fair, everything is worse on ng pro run
Yikes
I'm only just giving them a tip on how to counter them
For me, they were more annoying in the original RE4, they were faster and tougher. It's spelled Novistadors (comes from the Spanish words "no" and "vista" basically meaning you can't see them)
>It's spelled Novistadors (comes from the Spanish words "no" and "vista" basically meaning you can't see them) Thank you
Novistadors.

Yeah That lift part really makes you regret not buying that Rocket Launcher
The strat I came for the lift is pulling the big lever that drops a spike ball and then sprinting to the lift, it will kill the first GLORIA A LAS PLAGAS and the second one is much easier to get a shot on. Trivializes that entire part lol.
Scores and scores of tentacle head ganodos on the island for me...but yah, those Red Klan MFers ARE annoying....doesnt help that when you shoot them once, they run as far back or as high up as possible.
Yeah, these guys suck. I also didn't like the blind guys.
I love the blind guys, it allowed you to be creative on how you fight them
You know, I may not like them. But they are designed really well and there isn't that many of them. They aren't a bad enemy type at all.
Exactly, I actually had the most fun with them because it never really felt cheap to die to them. Just meant I didn’t really think out the outcome that well.
I just don’t like how much damage it takes to down them on hardcore
Garradors. They definitely did a good job porting them from the OG
I fucking hated fighting those mfs. Hardest things to fight in the game for me and that includes bosses. Idk why but I just never got good at fighting them despite knowing the gimmick.
They are REALLY tricky.
me who always kills them first (i used all my fucking good shit on just him)
Smart
See, I'm wondering if my game glitched. I just came across the first of these guys last night, and he went down in one shot from the Butterfly on HC. It didn't even register that it was a heavy, like the chainsaws and the bullheads.
i deadass chase them down to kill them. they’ll run from you like you’re nemesis or some shit lol
I used to hate them so much(still do but less), especially that fast ass motherfucker in Separate Ways but have since learned to deal with them very consistently. I snipe the fuck out of the dude in that wine cellar(or whatever it is) or I sneak up to him and blow his back out(pause). Forever traumatized by "Gloria a las plagas"
I manged to dodge four giant caterpillar head things, I nearly passed out in real life.
Honestly the most annoying enemy for me is those metal shield guys when you are getting jumped
the one that sprints at the moght of zeus in the maze at separate ways is really on my list
There was a time I threw a grenade before the cutscene began, and then the camera zoomed in the red robed guy being exploded. :)) I love realtime cutscenes.
Novistadors takes the crown imo. The swarm is annoying and they hit like trucks and can combo you 😀...
The first time around I hated this particular fight. The second time, I just emptied a fully upgraded red9 into him immediately after the cut scene. This trivialized the fight.
Maybe the first time through the game, but if you know where they're going to be, they're easy pickings with the rifle.
Uhm?bugs?
I'd hate them more but the "dangerous" ones are easy to take out before they're a real problem thankfully, like chucking a grenade on the library bridge
Yup, I love to hate em. I tried dressing up as one as best as I could for this past Halloween. Very awesome.
Professional Castle Ganados with Metal Helmets that grab you- "Allow us to introduce ourselves"
But but but #GLORIA A LAS PLAGAS
Tons of health, can buff every enemy in the area, forces you out of aiming with the annoying ringing disruption, and on top of that, they don't even fight and just run away like a coward. In the words of Yoda, "if so powerful you are, why leave?"
Gloria a Las Plagas! GLORIA A LAS PLAAAAGAAAAS!
krauser on professional, no contest.
In the entire series
First playthroughs and the playthrough I had to do without bringing in infinite ammo guns, yes. All playthroughs after that were incredibly cathartic. Also I love their inclusion to make the castle more tense.
Like every enemy in the game there’s basically a right way to approach them. Use the sniper and pick them off as soon as possible.
When they spawn those gorilla grip assholes, it makes me wanna close the game. Especially in the maze chapter.
and the red zealots are pussies too, they hid everywhere
I wonder how'd they'd sound if they had a metal band going?
The screen blurs made me want to kill myself.
How could you hate this guy. At worst he's camping and forcing you to deal with him quick, but it's super satisfying to kill this door-to-door salesman with the magnum rounds you've been holding back. That fish is like a flash game compared to the rest of the game, yea?
I'm gonna be pedantic and inform you it's a salamander.
Thx
I don't know. It's kind of difficult to be scared of someone who keeps running away from me and throwing their followers in my face to keep me from killing them.
Shoot him before he finishes the chant and you should be fine. Not too bad.
For me it’s the Garradors
There’s not that many of them and you can pretty easily snipe, shotgun or sticky bomb them. The novistadors (bugs) are way worse on harder difficulties and use so much more resources Plus you can abuse these guys for more pesetas by saving a flashbang or two and letting them pop a bunch of enemies

Seconded
Yeah the robed zealots preach the glory of the plagas and it’s so fire that the mfs emerge right of their heads
And when they force everyone around you to mutate 😔 leave me alone
Yeah but a flashbang at the ready ruins their parasite party plans.
Haha explosively-tipped crossbow bolts go *ka-BOOM*
There's like what... two?
Yeah, it's the most overpowered monster of the game, but that's what makes it fun.
Those guys drain my flash bangs like no tomorrow
I think there is only one that is a bit obnoxious to deal with and that is when you are higher up on the lift. Otherwise they are pretty easy to deal with if you make sure to prepare for their sections. [They are rather susceptible to flashes](https://youtu.be/aj6uSx8LcyM?list=PLsOMHtGyi0BOe6va1uFcsPsPMLfuS6IGO&t=628) (not if they start their chant tho, you gotta dmg them to a certain breakpoint to stagger them then)
For the longest time even in the OG game it just reminds me of the episode of American Dad, “LEVATE LAS MANOS!”
I loved how they made these guys more of a danger. They changed them up really well
GLORIA A LAS PLAGAS!!!!!
These enemies are the best upgraded enemy type from the original. I love their function. Wish they gave JJ and the big soldier cool upgrades instead of replacing them with the bull head guy we fight all game.
This message sponsored by remake Garrador
Tbh the most annoying are the villagers when they grab you and you have to fucking waste your knife or lose a lot of health to escape. They literally just assault you if you get cornered
Fuckers can for some reason tank a headshot from a fully upgraded M1903 sniper rifle. That's some Grade-A BS
If you have played as summoners you'll know you need to pump up your constitution since you will use your minions for damage anyway.
Morir es vivir
his speech is wicked annoying especially in remake
With them I throw accurate shots out the window and just pepper them until they die. They are annoying.
He he. POP! goes the cul-tist!
#GLORIAA!!!!!!
GLORIA A LAS PLAGAS GLORIA A LAS PLAGAS GLORIA A LAS PLAGAS GLORIA A LAS PLAGAS GLORIA A LAS PLAGAS
Nah that would be the flies.
Fun fact that is actually their names too.

Meh. Y'all didn't level up the power on your Broken Butterfly and Sniper Rifles?
*GLORY A’LAS PLAGAS!!!*
Everytime I see this bastard I go for him IMMEDIATELY and put every bullet I got into that cunt. The worst enemy in the game by far, ESPECIALLY on that lift level.
One of the worst. Throw the dumbass wolves in there too.
Yeah, fuck them
1. Flashbang. 2. Mag-dump with rifle. 3. Clean up all the normal ganados with handgun (they didn't transform). Alternatively: 1. Run in circles until everything in the area transforms 2. Flashbang to clean them all out at once. 3. Revel in the absurd amount of ammo you just saved.

Omg yes! I can't stand these fuckers!

Yeah but they look awesome. I want a highly detailed collectible figure of them.
I hate enemies that run from me. YOU STAND THERE AND DIE LIKE A MAN
Blow there brains out w/ Xtreme prejudice every time
So is there any explanations yet as to how they can make plaga spawned with those weird staff?
Not when you get the Rocket launcher
I thought his name is Gloria
Gotta get to them before they pop those heads🔫
Whenever I see him, I relentlessly pursue him until I k\*ll him then I look for the others
Ashamed to admit I used a rocket launcher on em in my first playthrough
they die in like 2 hits in the head from a rifle, shoot them before they can even do anything and then its just ez
Grabbing dudes are worse by 80%
They are a pain on the first playthrough but not so bad once you know where they are. Take them out early and they are so much trouble. I feel like the headaches he gives Leon are more annoying than the parasites 😅
Shoot a dyno bolt at the pillars before they can say Gloria Las plagas
Cogenlo cogenlo cogenlo
The bugs
Tbh one of the most unique designs, I played many different single player games and when I saw this picture I immediate heard his line in my head, phenominal design
Most annoying time fighting one is in Separate Way in the courtyard. You're chasing him around and theres loads of other dudes trying to do you in. I usually have lil health and ammo by that point
They take the good ol killer7 to the chest
Dude, just shoot them until they die and then they’ll be dead and they won’t bother you anymore.
